| Following the storyline of AA! Megami Sama TV2 is this movie and while it's rather impressive, much like the series it may have some desiring more. It may be wise to watch Season One, Season Two than the movie, just a suggestion. Can love save Heaven and Earth? Just wait and see.

| The AA! MegamiSama series has been one of the better series in manga/anime for years, and the movie definitely kept the standard high. Its not a Miyazaki movie, but it still ranks near the top of my personal anime list.

| Ah! My Goddess: The Movie continues where the OVA left off with a new twist to the story. With the introduction of new characters (for good or bad) as well as a return of all of the orginal characters, this is a must see for fans of the Ah! My Goddess series and a definitely watchable for all fans of anime alike. The fact that it is a movie, gives it some benefits but at the same time, takes away some of the other important elements valued by so many anime watchers. Ultimately, it is your choice to decide whether or not you like it but you mustn't decide until you watch it completely.
As has been the new trend, here are some other facts about this movie:

| This anime is a prequel of the series, and its ok. Not really good, and full of things which challenge how god, heaven, and angels are portrayed. Its just one big love story with quite a predictqable storyline.

| This is a really sweet and beutiful movie which i absolutely enjoyed.
The story is pretty interesting and easy to follow, though you may enjoy it a bit more if you've watched the OVAS first, which while not necessary to understand the movie, will give you a better insight to why Belldandy is with Keichi and how the world in the show work and all..
In the movie's story a former mentor of Belldandy comes to Earth after years of being missing and distrubs Keichi's and Belldandy's peaceful life.
He erases Belldandy's memories of Keichi, and threats the Heaven Offices with a powerfull virus that will dissort everything as we know it and destroy Heaven and all the laws createdby it, that govern both the human world and haeven.
The laws and restriction that heaven has put on living things are wrong on the antagonist's eyes and he fights for a way to abolish them !
What will happen to Keichi? Which side will Belldandy take?
The good story is accompanied by GORGEUS animation, and a soundtrack which very nice and nostalgic...really this is an awesome looking and sounding film!

| I've finally finished watching megami sama TV series. and i've waited till i was done with the TV series to say that this movie is the best animated version of beloved Ah! Megami sama manga. Though the story is not in line with the manga and is also quite detached from the OVA, fans of this series simply must watch this movie.
I was rather impressed with the animation. It didn't go berserk on CG, but still made everything look very smooth and crisp. I loved the usage of very real colors in contrast bright and showy color that one might expect from an anime. And how can anyone dislike the character design in Megami sama? I simply love it.
The background music stays low key throughout the anime. Though i enjoy all the classical pieces i wouldn't go out and buy the OST. If I were to here music from this movie outside i wouldn't recognize it, unlike i would with music from Escaflowne.
What i was the most impressed were attention on characters. OVA was too short to have character details, and TV series just do terrible job in length of 24 episodes. In this movie we see much attention on Belldandy's past and her relationship with Keiichi.
I also felt that there's no one i could realy hate in this movie and that's a good thing. We are drawn to a struggle between 2 conflicting morals. I enjoyed giving my sympathy to all aspects of philosophical reasoning in this anime.
We also finally get to see what Yggdrasil really is and how it "kindda" works. These details are welcomed in my point.
One thing i didn't like however was its predictability. I think animated Megami series stayed way to obvious all throughout and and this movie does not break that curse. and naturally if things are obvious you interest gets lower and begin to think that things get a bit cheessy. That how I felt at the end.
this is the best animated version of Megami series. Must watch if you are a fan. If you are not watch the OVA and watch this. and if you still can't get enough try the TV series.

| This show is pretty unlike the OVA. It takes on a more serious approach and the storyline is alittle hard to understand. However the original voice casts remain. I simply love Belldandy's voice, gentle and kind. But You can be watching a scene and wondering how does it fit into the storyline. The best thing about this show is the love portrayed by the 2 main characters for each other. Even though Belldandy has lost her memories of Keiichi, their feelings for each other still remain, and it is nicely shown too. One line in the show left a lasting impression on me: "Even if you completely lost the memory of the time we spent together... even if we ended up on other sides of the universe... I'd find you and we'll start all over again. Again, and again. No matter how many years it took. ( Keiichi to Belldandy) This is so touching in da movie ^_^ A must watch!

| The movie which follows up the AMG OVA is an extension as well as an improvement to the AMG storyline. While I found the preceeding OVA boring, I found this much more entertaining.

| I am a avid fan of Ah! My Goddess and therefore I really looked forward to this movie. Although the story line is a bit weak because it is based on this side character of Belldandy's teacher, I overlooked it since Belldandy is very awesome in this movie.
This story is more based upon the Heavens with the character focus on Belldandy: she becomes more 'human' and less like a omnipotent God character. In that sense, it is kind of anti-religious. It says that despite all the powers of Gods, it is better to be human.
I feel that the moral/main message is quite philosophical and this movie takes a very optimistic stance: Love conquers all, humans live to love, humans have hope, there is no need to eliminate suffering because humans can be strong.
Story-wise, it proceeds quite single mindedly. The usual cast of characters are back, but they aren't really a big part of this movie. Celestin and Belldandy are the two big stars with keichi as kind of the human representative in the fight between Gods.
One thing about this story is it is very predictable. The moment I saw that Gate.. I knew Belldandy and Keichi would walk through it and with their pure hearts, they would not be separated, and then Morgan would be : "ahh no, I suck, I doubted... damn it". The movie happens along something of those lines (sorry to show a spoiler, but really is obvious)
Overall, its a beautifully made movie. Belldandy is awesome. Heaven looks good. Lots of skinny anime girl characters. A MUST for anybody who even slightly enjoyed Ah! My Goddess, but mainly to see belldandy again... not really for what the movie has to present.
Weakness... it is quite unreal in light of the atmosphere created by the OVA. what is with the computer like aspects of heaven? o.O I think the creators must have spent too much debugging their computer spyware or something.

| The ova's was unexpectedly good, but I was still somewhat skeptical about the movie. God I was wrong. This turned out to be far superior to the ova and exceeded all my expectations.
This was much better because the story is quite a bit more believable than the other. I was somewhat confused by all the sci-fi aspect of it though. I was especially confused as how the Goddesses manage to link up with the computer system in heaven as though they were digital beings themselves.
The characters are just as likeable, if not more so than the ova's. This movie was emotionally a lot more dramatic than the ova's. Bad points is that Belldandy seems to be a bit too 1 dimensional at times, and also I felt a slight lack of motivation for the actions of some of the characters took.
Like the ova, this is a hard anime to hate, because of the charm it possesses. This was good from the beginning, whilst the ova's started a bit weakly because of the basis the story. Don't get put off by the horrific title... watch this! :P

| First of all, I must say that the movie is a lot better if you've watched the Ah My Goddess OVA first.
And I did.
I've read several reviews of this movie, and I can understand most reactions. This really is a movie that you'd only like if it's your cup of tea.
And as I wipe away my tears (I'm a sucker for these kind of love stories.. and I cry easily....) I must say that I really loved this movie.
The rating for this movie is just, specially for people who love those love stories just as much as I do. I believe that if only guys were allowed to rate this movie, the rating would be around a 5 or a 6.
The thing that make me like it that much, was because the story had a nice pace. Some movies just have too little time to tell the story they want to tell you, and it goes by in a hurry. Not "Oh My Goddess" though. The story is well laid out, and even though you didn't see the OVA before you saw the movie, you can feel the emotions from the different characters. The love from sister to sister, and the love between the lovers Keichi and Belldandy.
I also very much liked the special effects and the action that also took place in this movie. The movie does not only focus on the love, but also has a dose of action and magic.
Those factors combined, made me give the rating you see beside this article. So if you're the kind of person that goes for Romance and Magic, this is a great movie for you.

| This is a fine movie that is pretty enjoyable but cannot be viewed independently of the OVA that preceeded it a few years back. I would highly recommend it, but only to those who have at least seen the OVA's.

| The mood is much darker than the OVA. Also, there is an actual attempt at a cohesive, sweeping story arc. I enjoyed the OVA more, though I can appreciate the extremely high production values of this movie.

| I have to say, hearing all the hype about the OAV series of this made me want to see what people meant. As I haven't seen the preceeding series before watching the movie, maybe I am missing something, then again maybe not. I hadn't seen the Revolutionary Girl Utena series when I saw the movie and it is exceptionally good. I was hoping this movie would not alienate people who haven't seen the series and in a way it did... It seemed like one needed to know the characters and the overall plot of the show before watching this movie. I do think that the series has potential though as the characters in this movie are very interesting and the animation is pretty good. All that said, it is not that bad, just not as good as you would have imagined. Shame it is no match for Adoslescence of Utena, which mixed amazing visuals with great characters and a complex compelling story.

| This is a very beautifully animated and well concieved movie.
If you are at all a fan of the 5 OVAS, you really shoud give this a try.
It is far more dramatic and serious than the OVAS were, but it has something the OVAS dont...PEORTH!
aside from Peorths heavenly presence the 3 girls, Urd, Skuld, and Belldandy are back in this movie.
Belldandy's mentor, Celestin has had a long standing crush on Bell, and also a rather misguided plan to destroy the present world and start it anew, which obviously disturbs innocent Belldandy a lot. Thats the basic gist of the story, as Bell and the others fight against Celestin's ambitions to restore order back to Earth before it is too late. Standard story, but told in a very beautiful and enjoyable way here.
The music is great as well, and the whole movie has a definite high quality about it.
Overall, this is very recommended for its absence of ecchi and language that so often pervades today's anime. Its a brilliant example of the direction Ah my goddess can take in that new series coming, and I couldn't be more excited for it.
For the time being though, this movie is the best way to experience AMG.

| Unfortunately, I saw Oh! My Goddess: The Movie before I saw the OVA. I say unfortunately because I feel that the movie itself has a far more engrossing and intriguing storyline than any episode of the OVA, as well as a HECK of a lot better animation and sound. Basically, watching this first spoils it a little for the series. But oh well… the movie still rocks in my opinion.
In my opinion, the animation is great, usual theatrical quality. With vivid colors, amazing magical displays, and detailed characters and environments, the DVD version will certainly give your eyes a feast.
The sound is also theatrical quality – excellent sound effects, voice acting, and music from both the soundtrack and the singing goddesses.
As previously mentioned, the story of the movie blows away any episode of the series. This is because of the added “action� genre, including battles involving the goddesses and a main villain. This is far different from the series, which might turn some hardcore Oh! My Goddess fans off… in my opinion though, it improves it greatly. Such a storyline just has more anticipation, tension, and excitement. The storyline also included a lot more back-story of the goddesses and heaven itself. The main plot dealing with both the strength of the love between Belldandy and Keiichi, as well as the main villain planning the destruction of heaven turned out to be interesting in itself.
The characters were about the same as the show, which would place it for me at about average. The problem with an anime movie is there’s usually very little character GROWTH, which is important to very high character scores. I raised it a little bit since the main villain was well done… torn between his previous love and his desire to get revenge on heaven.
All and all, I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who likes great enjoyable anime moves. You don’t need to be a fan of the show before you see this, I wasn’t, and still enjoyed it immensely.

| Generally, this anime is more or less interesting.
Animation of this anime is fairly good for her day. The music and background music is fairly good on its' own right.
The story is a bit weak. The story is more focus on the romance perspective more than magic or comedy. The most siginificant part is the ending scene, where the value of this story has been pointed out. First is the trust between couple. I think this is very important. If you have doubted for your partner. Then the love is questionable. The second is understanding. I believe this anime did fairly well to points out that understanding and willing to learn from his/her partner is significant in romance.
Character is somewhat better than the OVA of OMG. It is because of Belldandy that seems to be developing from the OVAs. The other character also performs fairly well.
I held this story in a high regards, when it came to romance. However, it is not that attractive to rewatch or enjoyable watch.

| Damn, this was quite a disappointment compared to the series. I probably shouldn't have watched it the day after I watched the series, but some time later. This movie is more in the drama-mood of the last two episodes of the OVA. For me, this was a pity as I thought the comedy of the OVA made it that little extra.
The first thing I noticed about this series was the animation. In my opinion it's a little worse then the OVA. Somehow it's less colorful and detailed. Plus, there are some terrible CGI scenes in the middle part. I still give it a nine because the ending is terrific stuff!
The soundtrack is perfect, yet typical for movies. They dropped those happy J-Pop tunes for something more serious, to reflect the mood of this movie better. And the most important thing is that they kept the voiceactor for Belldandy. She has such a distinct voice it's impossible to let someone other speak it in.
The story is not very original. This is just an episode of the big series they should have made instead of the OVA. It's simply an adventure Morisato and Belldandy have, and like they probably have a lot. So no real excitement and you can already guess the ending before it even started, which spoils the fun.
Because it's nothing more than an episode from the series that was never made, it's to long. A lot of useless filler that could have been cut out. You also suddenly see things that weren't really in the OVA. For example, the goddesses suddenly fly all over the place. And I also never got it why their spirits(?) get out of their body when yhey are angry? I can't remember it being in the OVA. I totally missed those things, which made me a little annoyed.
As for the characters: I can't give them higher then I gave it in the OVA, as they are the same. I was tempted to give it lower as Celestine is a real dorky personality, but well... I couldn't. I'd also wish they'd put in more of Urd and Skuld, but not everything can be as I want it to be.
Conclusion: watch the OVA, and if you liked the (last part of the) OVA, check this out. But anyway, 106 minutes extra of Belldandy never hurts now does it :>

| Enchanting and overly sweet -- that is definitely what describes this movie best.
In a nutshell, something strange happens to Belldandy, and it is up to Keiichi and her sisters to bring her back to her old self. You will watch how they do it in this romantic and drama-filled movie installment of the series.
Animation is superb, along with the character designs. Belldandy has to be one of the most beautiful and lovely anime characters ever created. The effects were very good and combined perfectly with the pace of the movie.
Sound played out amazingly. Along with some of the more dramatic scenes, it surely is responsible for making your heart pound harder.
Even if you aren't a fan of the Aa! Megami-Sama series, you should try this movie. It will really touch you if you are looking for some real romantic storyline.
