Ok. So I saw the first season of this series and I've just finished the second one. I was so disappointed in the ending of this series. It was a total "wtf" moment for me. Let's go over some of the points.

The animations was about the same. Nothing new. It was all pretty and such.

The sound was almost the same. I didn't like the OP or the ED as much. There was good music though thru the anime.

The story is probably the best part of the second session. Even though they made it more sci-fi I liked it. There were a couple of episodes that rocked. For example, the Valentine's Episode. It was a great episode even though I couldn't finish it(Damn you Veoh!). Of course around the last few episodes we see some nice action scenes. Slash was so cool in a certain episode. Around the end you'll see that noone really know how much time Mahoro has. So it becomes a pain. The story continues in a weird way. In episode 13 you'll see a ending that will scare you, and although you might not want it to end like that, it will. Episode 14, the last episode goes into a sci-fi, evangelion mode. You'll see this episode and you'll be going "Omg WTF!", I sure did. The ending seems something out of Evagenlion. Like so many before me, "They could have done a better ending."

The anime ends like that and although it might not be the ending that we were hoping for, I still like it a little. I do wish they had a different ending. This ending doesn't really go with the series at all in my opinion.

Mahoromatic ~Something More Beautiful~ comes off as a fine sequel of more-of-the-same for the first 10 or so episodes, but then it spirals down into disappointment as they try to fill up the plotholes and sci-fi background story, completely disregarding the main focus/attraction of the anime.

The first 10ish episodes focus on the introduction and stories about the new cyborg/maid Minawa/370 and more of the same side-fillerish fun development episodes focusing on various traditional events and relationships. While the first series focused more on Mahoro and Suguru, the sequel found itself shifting the ratio more towards the rest of the cast, especially with the new/current love relationships with Minawa present. Daresay, the rest of the cast got a boost in likeability and familiarity unlike the ignorance they received in the previous season. As always, ecchi and fun character antics are present throughout the series, so if you enjoyed the first season, you'll enjoy this portion of the second season.

Problems arise, however, as they reintroduce the background story about the Vesper, Saints, and related irrelevant things. The attempt to string together the connections are foiled with bad knots and motives along with an overload of new factors and organizations and their reasons of existence. With the sudden departure from the mood to something more dramatic, viewers will be left wondering just what the heck is going on, what the crisis actually is, and how the rest of the built-up cast are going to be involved! You won't find any of this wonders being answered as a plethora of political nonsense is told near the end of the series that no viewer after the anime's initial run will get. Well, there's one thing hopeful: the fight action. But that disappointed as well as all it is is a comparison of power along with a battery draining from Mahoro herself that ends... not bittersweet; the first season's fight finale was way better even though it didn't have a lot going for it.

As for the final episode, I'll give it credit for the mood it sets up, but it resolved nothing. The sudden appearance and the lead-up to a beautiful reunion was not convincing at all. I was wondering throughout the episode: "Is this the same show I'm watching???" The rest of the cast only appeared in the flashbacks (OR WERE THOSE REFERENCES TO ANOTHER SERIES HMMMM???) and the transformation of Suguru was weird for what kind of character he was from the beginning.

The best parts of S2 is pretty much the first 10ish episodes up to the final confession and before Mahoro takes off to do battle. The final episodes aren't worth watching at all - I was really reluctant on finishing the series because I had no idea where it was going to go from that point on, and I certainly knew it wasn't going to resolve anything. Enjoy your badly ended battle-maid anime.

Mahoromatic season two is an echhi comedy with just a hint of action and drama. It focuses on a former combat android turned maid, Mahoro, who spends her limited remaining lifespan caring for a boy named Siguro Misato.
This is a feel-good series with decent animation and sound quality. If you liked the first season, then you will like this anime.

Will this 2nd season bring relief and high quality after a fairly disappointing first season? I guess not! Though it actually IS better it still wasn't that satisfying to watch for me. The lack of music was disturbing, the lack of plot was bad too (though better then the 1st season), and the ending was worst of all. Although this anime isn't that good you could say they've taken the formula of the first season, polished it a bit and used it for the 2nd.

I think that this season of Mahoromatic was better than the first season, while still suffering from many of the same problems of the first season.

The animation wasn't too amazing, though it fit well with the cartoony mood of the anime for the first half with colorful characters and backgrounds, while in the second half and especially the final episode were darker and more serious to reflect the darker mood of the story.

The soundtrack was a failing in this series: no memorable melodies to be found, though the character's voices were still ok.

The story was once again limited to 75% random scenes for jokes and slight character development and only in the last few episodes was a true plot established. However, unlike the first series which almost completely lacked plot, Mahoramatic 2 brings in more background information on Vesper, a new organization called Management, and some insight into Saint. But even then, there are many unanswered questions about each group, and the ending of the series truly resolves nothing for many of these plot lines.

Another problem was the way the ending seemed rushed; it seems that a lot of information is crammed into the last episode and thus there were many plot holes and questions left unanswered.

The character devlopment and depth in this series was much better than in Mahoromatic 1. The relationship between Suguru and Mahoro is fleshed out, Minawa brings some additional character depth, and the side characters are also more three dimensional than they were in the previous series. Even Ryuga and Suguru's relatives' backgrounds are fleshed out. Also, unlike the last series, characters experience growth: Suguru, Minawa, and Mahoro especially.

For those of you who enjoyed Mahoromatic season 1, season 2 will bring you more of the same, but even better than the first time. For those of you who did not enjoy season 1, I don't reccomend season 2. If you're looked for a complex plot with many plot twists or awesome fight scenes, or lots of romance ala Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, this is not the series for you.

Overall, I think I enjoyed this season more than I enjoyed season one.

To start off, I liked the animation. Character models were even better. There's better shading, lighting, and color. The background still has blurry edges, but looks more brilliant than the first one. Compared to the first season, it's a definite improvement. Even though the animation is improved, it still doesn't catch anything too spectular. It's very close to a 9, but just not there.

Sounds are clear and pleasing. Music is usually soft and calm type and beaty fast paced type. Sound effects along with the music are used very well. And voice actors really put forth effort to bring out the comedy of this anime. Opening and ending songs aren't as great, especially the ending. Bottom line, I don't believe anything is missed.

Story lacked a lot of connetivity. Most episodes are not related to the big theme. But most of all, the plot is about the lives of the characters. It doesn't create anything serious to watch, but is fun to watch. Near the ending, I didn't like the part when Suguru just blot out that touchy feelings. It's already cliche enough that characters confess their love near endings, and this doesn't manage to escape from that. In other words, there was no logical build up for what he was going to say; it seemed like he said it out of the blue. In the last episode, the story actually got really interesting. 20 years have passed, and Suguru had changed into a different person. It turned out to be quite original, or at least different and not cliche, for that. In my opinion, the last two episodes were one of the best ways to end a series.

In Mahoromatic season 2, I felt like there was more of a connection to the characters. There was more focus on more characters as well. I got to understand more of Suguru's friends, Ryuga, Minawa, and some others. It's probably because there was less time wasted on senseless ecchi and humor and more focus on characters. Suguru and Mahoro were the same; they showed little development.

Mahoromatic has a comedy approach, thus it can't be taken seriously. There was a lot of funny moments here and there, and episodes usually were separate (not related). But I got to see and understand the characters more and as they develop. This is mostly a clean anime, with little or no creepy, gloomy feelings. No one ever said that he/she shouldn't exist. I liked that different approach. Overall, this anime gives an uplifting mood and has a good number of funny scenes. It's enjoyable for the casual watcher.

Overall slightly better than season 1. Though the same problems occur again. Lack of good action scenes. The 1st half was pretty senseless, it left me feeling like it was a waste of time watching this anime.

And the characters were still the same as before, except for some new faces, which didn't serve to push the story forward alot.

Music wise, the OP was ok, while the ED was terrible.

At time the anime got over-dramatic and only concentrated on Mahoro and Suguru. Completely neglecting the other side characters. The ending was pretty touching, but left me wondering how in the world Mahoro got back in one piece when she was supposed to be scrapped.

I feel that this anime only skimps the surface of what a romance anime is all about. This show scores a nil on re-watch value. Though this is just my opinion.

This series raps up the Mahoromatic story with a grim eulogy. The beginning episodes introduce new characters and provide development for those new characters. The story is ecchi goodness until later episodes, where the comedy/ecchiness gives way to plot and conflict.

The animation is decent, there are more no action scenes that stretch out to allow music to play with hope, no doubt, of setting you, the viewer, in a mood for the events. Even with such unnecessary slow animation and still scenes, the animation is still modern enough and flashy enough to be above par.

The sound is well placed like the first season, but the music still lacks in catchy rhythms. I doubt they will make any money on the soundtrack.

The story is light and comedic for the most of the series until the last few episodes. In the last few episodes, what was light and comedic or ecchi becomes serious and hurriedly potent. The last few episodes could have been made into a movie or special, though the resolution lacks in the necessary components that would sell tickets in the theaters.

The characters are once again fleshed out slowly and deliberately. Through the beginning episodes we begin to understand the new characters and feel for them as they grow. The character development still shines as strongly in this season as the previous season.

I would buy this on DVD and hope that you will. It is worth watching and would make a great addition to anyone’s collection.

I enjoyed the totality of this series as a fun way to spend free time. Watching this story in a group would make me feel uncomfortable. There is far too much sexual comedy for the ending to be so serious. Overall, this story was enjoyable and I do not feel it was a waste of time. Considering how many “animes” are a waste of time (90%?) that makes this story exceptionally enjoyable.

More of the same... more of the same... Which is what would be expected form a sequel I guess. However, they did put a little bit more emphasis on the stuff they do well.

The first half of the anime is not filler. Yep you read that correctly: the first half of the anime is NOT filler. If you consider those episodes to be filler, I guess you have to consider the entire Kimi ga Nozomu Eien to be filler, right? To quote John from animenation, one of the few anime fans whose opinion I actually respect, "Characters in a story need to be fleshed out with individual personalities." While there are many ways to achieve this, Mahoromatic, being drama/comedy, did this in a relatively standard fashion, with agreeable results.

However, the latter half suffers the same problem as season one. Even though, this time around, the characters and setting are properly introduced, they still try to do too much too quickly. Rushed results, inadequate explainations, and spiel-athons are seen once again in their full glory.

The ending was also extremely lame. Think back to your 7th grade English class... Remember those 5-paragraph papers...? How were those "conclusions" constructed? I'll tell you how: by taking everything you've already presented and working them into a concise idea or message with a little dilemma or suggestion added on to engage the reader. Mahoromatic's ending is nothing like that. As far as the ending's concerned, the rest of the anime might as well have not existed. The writers just pulled stuff out of their asses and slapped it on at the end in the name of a finale. Same problem as Fullmetal Alchemist, but to a greater extent since FMA actually had a bit of foreshadowing regarding the ending.

Lastly, a couple of the characters had quite a bit of untapped potential, slightly unsatisfying.

Technically, animation is improved over the first season, and sound quality remains the same.

To wrap it up, great comedy and drama in the begining of the anime, but then the writers screw it up again in the end. These writers need to be forced to write a book instead so they get a wake-up call on how much they suck.

Damn, i cant belive how great the Mahoromatic series was. It has everything that i want in an anime. although it didnt end exactly the way i was hopeing, it did end good. the final episode(14) was really out of place though and im not sure if it was part of the series or something that was added on later as some kind of special. the series overall is very light hearted and cute, exept for the last 4 or so eppisodes where it becomes very serious and heated. the opening and ending video/songs werent as great as the first season, but it was good enough. I really enjoyed this series and i have no complaints or regrets, its deffinately one of my favorite anime. The comedy is especialy top notch and almost nothing is held back. If you liked Chobits or Midori no hibi, then you will love Mahoromatic.

The second season of Mahoromatic picks up where the first season left off builds on all the loose strings of the first season. Though everything picks up little bit too late, this anime still is very good and entertaining. If you are expecting same from the first season and little bit of GAINAX magic at the end, than you will love this show.

The biggest improvement from the first season is the animation. the animation felt rough at the beggining but it got better as the episodes progressed. The last 6 episodes or so was crisp and rich in color especially.

you can expect the very same from all the characters. Shikijo sensei still tries to breast feed Suguru and Mahoro still thinks "ecchi is bad" and she still has the small breast complex; thus the hillarity continue in this season as well. The introduction of new character was a very good thing because it provided another story and also plot twists later in the anime.

Best and the worst part of this anime are characters and the essence of the problem lies in its pacing. More than half of this anime is filler and ecchi. though there are some important episodes that introduce important characters (Suguru's grandfather for example), but everything could've been done in shorter time. I like ecchi and all the comedy but story just went little bit slow.

First half of this anime was basically spent on nothing.

However the second half I would say is worth the wait.

The ending also does not sum up properly. Though the ending feels appropriate, it really needed to show us the aftermath of all these events to all the characters that we came to care for. If some of the side characters are ignored that's okay but not major characters. I was disappointed how they never showed some of very important characters at the end and what they become.

This anime is a continuation. If you haven't seen the first there's no reason to watch this one. If you have seeen the first one this is just a must because this anime, at least the second half of this season, improves upon the first and concludes the anime. After watching this anime the viewers will be left with a smile and a thought that this was a good anime.

More of the same thing or just more extreme filler-echi episodes from the original anime? Well whatever it was, this was certainly not an improvement from the original..

Mahoromatic 1's blend of comedy + fan service was greatly received from me, most of the scenes worked and it made me laugh quite a bit. Mahoromatic 2 comes along and well, sort of ruins the point abit, the fan service comedy is still present but more forced and tried so hard. It has a few decent things about it but generally, this animeis more filler and less on plot.. which brings me to the point that the plot is terrible.

An extra party is added to the fray of Saint vs Vesper out of nowhere, added in some stupid pointless plan and include a 'wholly' pointless character (Minawa), who is neither cute or relatable with.
Anyways, Mahoromatic 2 was terrible and the redeeming feature from this anime> The unique ending it has,

Mahoromatic 2's ending is pretty special, it throws away conventional endings and adds in somethign different and in some respect works but then in other respects, doesn't work. It was a good ending but not long/developed enough to be great.

Overall: 5.5/10
Grade: C-

The animation is the same up to the last episode. I don't like how they draw the people in episode 14. It doesn't much with the previouse episodes. Also the way that Suguru look when he is older... looks nothing like him!! The sound still the same, no annoyin voices or songs, which is good.

The story is just pretty much a continuation of the first part, but htis time with Minawa. Also it goes into more detal about Mahoro's past. The characters are still the same, except for more characters and you see a little more about Vesper and how Vesper was destroyed the same for Management.

Overall, this is the same a the first season, nothing much has changes. The only thing i don't like was the last episode because the way the artis draw the characters. But if you really enjoyed the first part i recommend it to watch the second one too.

I didn't like this as much as the first Mahoromatic. It carries the same atmosphere and it could be continued on from the previous mahoromatic and you'd feel no real gaps. Characters are basically all the same, maybe a little more in terms of past conflicts with Mahoro herself but if you LOVED the first half, you'll like this.

Point is: this doesn't make it anymore just more stories of your 'favorite' or not characters.

Mahoromatic seasons 1 and 2 are on my top5 all time favorite anime comedy series. This ecchi filled barrel of fun has really well developed characters with a heart warming plot. Do not fret on what others have said about the ending for after watching this i probably spent a good week or 2 thinking about it, really served its purpose. This is recommened to anyone who enjoys ecchi/comedy with a heart-warming plot such as Love hina, dearS, Chobits ect.. Season 1 and 2 are bound by plot not like other series which you could go and watch season 1 or 2 and still feel the anime. Highly enjoyable, not a waste of money/time.

I finally decided to watch the last 5 episodes of Mahoromatic, a trully special series to me mainly because I really love the character Mahoro.

I really don't know what to say, I literally broke down after episode 13. I probably never will forgive Gainax for doing what they did... I understand and accept episode 13's ending even if that's not what I wanted, but the last episode came out of nowhere and whoever worked on that episode missed the boat.

All in all, the first 9 episodes of Season 2 are meaningless and the last 5 come up of nowhere and the pacing is way off. I'm still giving this a decent score, but I'd like to thank Gainax for ruining Mahoromatic with a craptacular last episode.

Mahoromatic Something More Beautiful is a step up from Automatic Maiden as the drama and animation are up a notch with more fluid fight scenes and the drama continues as Mahoro's running time continues to run low. With Minawa, we get a good enough number of comedy scenes because of her clumsiness. Wait until you see her contributions with episode 3 centering on Mahoro's intentions to raise her bust size. While Shikijou-sensei does return from Automatic Maiden, she isn't as annoying as she was in the first series and we see some surprising details on her character, though she still provides little contribution to the plot. Plus, the show's ending is quite controversial among fans of the show and not all people who watch the ending will be satisfied with the results, but I'm one of the ones satisfied with the ending so I'm not really disappointed. But, I think watching the ending to Something More Beautiful will determine to fans if it was a great anime or a mediocre one. Nontheless, Something More Beautiful is an improvement over Automatic Maiden.

Mahoromatic season two continues to be more of the same joy and delight that the first season was. But while I found the filler episodes to be even more fun this season, the darkness that engulfed the show and the emotional conflict between a cruel destiny and the will to live and love culminates to a rather bizzare finale that has significantly absorbed much of the impact I anticipated concerning Mahoro's fate. Still, this is a fine anime nonetheless.

Overall quite a decent anime. In all fairness to it, the first 12 and a half episodes were VERY enjoyable. Its just the ending (last episode and a bit) was beyond weak and almost felt as if it was written by a different writer. Truthfully, it's a little hard to give a fair review to an anime like this when it starts out so great but leaves you with such a BAD taste in your mouth (due to the weak ending).

IMO: worth watching...but I'm skipping the ending each time I rewatch this series from now on...

As much as I enjoyed the first season of this anime the second disappointed me a bit. It went fairly well until the last few episodes where the plot kind of fell apart. Until the ending episodes it was a lot of fun to watch the cute characters and fun situations. When the end finaly rolled around it was rather depressing and confusing. Saints motives are never really explained. Matthew, the conciousness of Saint, and Mahoro's relationship suddenly becomes aware and is never explained in the slightest. The conclusion just felt really contrived. The only reason I didn't obliterate this anime in my review was that 90 % of this story was just so enjoyable.

Watch it for the humor and cute characters because it is extremely enjoyable, but expect it to become very tiresome in the last few episodes. Still, it is worth watching.
