| Naruto started quiet well and with a lot of promise. Early episodes indicated it would be anime's newest classic hit. Sadly the first 20 episodes was the best the series had to offer. It continued with ups and down all the way to episode 80, when it reached at all time high since the first 20 episodes and made us dare to hope once more. It was the last time i had any hopes for Naruto turning into anything but a mediocre, over-rated series. The plot and the animation went down hill from there as well as over half the characters which seemed to vanish from the series, or where given very insignificant roles. The fight Naruto vs Sasuke in eps 130 was good but it was too little too late. And since the begging of the new series the story has been so horrible i wouldn't be surprise to find out it's been made by someone other than the rather creative mind that cooked up the first half of the series.
Very few characters sand out in this series, while many fanboys of gaara and sasuke exist the characters themselves have a very basic design and are painfuly one dimensional. I would dare say sasuke is the worst developed character i have even encountered. The rest of them are average, the only real shining star in the cast of mediocre, copy pasted characters in Rock Lee, tho Kakashi's story was well written.
The music is good but not outstanding.
Overall it mediocre to average series which fails to meet the expectation of anyone who would hear it's high praises been sung before he/she dove into what would be one of the over-rated series and disappointing anime experience in Anime history.

| A must-see anime, Naruto was my training-wheels into the world of Anime, and I know many people who are the same. Many years later after encountering Naruto, my sense of taste has developed and I no longer see Naruto as 'the greatest thing ever' but it still holds a special place in my heart (sounds corny).
Basically, Naruto is the typical shounen anime; everything is predictable and the whole essence and what makes it enjoyable relies on Naruto and friends continually destroying the bad guys. The thing that weakens the story even more is how nothing ever changes; there is not enough room for the story to develop, and therefore it is always trapped in it's realm of bad guys invading and Naruto defending. Even many long arcs later the story still has Naruto in Konoha becoming stronger and bad guys still attacking. Is that all Naruto will ever be?
Despite the weak story, Naruto still succeeds in providing a huge amount of enjoyment. No matter how 'SHOUNEN' Naruto remains, the characters give life to the entire animated series. The only thing is that it's mostly the villains that appeal to everybody, and Naruto is not able to manage most of the audience to appeal to all the good guys; most of the good characters just become annoying, bratty, and predictable (Naruto, Sakura, etc). So the bad guys are awesome, especially when you recall yourself when you first started the anime (OMG GAARA IS AWESOME!!!). But that's the only great thing about the anime, and that's what gives the audience the large enjoyment value. Apart from that, the character of Naruto is incredibly weak. Naruto actually doesn't become stronger; the character of Naruto only becomes angrier and is able to control the chakra of his nine-tails more. So the element that Naruto constantly relies on his anger to get him through tough situations is quite pathetic. But this is a shounen anime.
The soundtrack also holds a special place; some of the tunes are quite memorable (Sadness and Sorrow), and will never be forgotten. Another thing about the anime is that it gives the audience a lot of life from the original Manga, and some scenes can be really emotional (Haku arc).
So in all, Naruto isn't the best anime out there, but it IS one of the MOST popular animes right now, and that's not all pure luck. Naruto has some great moments and Akatsuki is what continues the viewers and readers to come back (like me), but aside from that, this anime is NOT for people who are looking for an incredibly engaging and mind-boggling anime.

| If I were to be honest with my feelings, this series would deserve no more than an overrall rating of 5/10. However, I'll try to be as "professional" as I can with the rating system. If you haven't guessed, I thoroughly hate this anime, even more so than Bleach and FMA. It's probably No.1 on my "Stay away" list. The shit jokes which aren't even funny ruins the slightly more serious mood of some scenes. Characters getting the living crap beaten out of them stand up and beat the guy who has just been dominating him/her for the past 20 minutes. Not cool.

| Well This is my favourite Anime so my views are highly biased against any short comings of the show. However, i guess everyone who watches the anime will have to agree that the story of Naruto is inspiring.
In the start the introduction itself was brilliant, the survival training with kakashi was cool and funny (though the end was a little stupid), I thouroughly enjoyed the Hake and Zabuza arc, good fights and good emotional storyline.
The chuunin exam part till the final fights is a little boring, interesting only when orochimaru first appears, but the preliminary and final fights are excellent. The final fights are the lead up onto the attack on Konoha, this part is really amazing with my favourite fight of the anime Naruto v Gaara. This Fight was just amazing the initial fear that naruto has, how he overcomes it, gives a message of what the true strength is. Moving on the next event that is really exciting is the first appearance of itachi. His fight against (or thrashing of) Kakashi and Sasuke is really cool.
The highlight of the next arc is the The three way Sanin battle and Naruto's first Rasengan . Though by now the line "becoming Hokage is my dream" starts to get a little irritating.
Finally we come to the Best arc which is the get Sasuke back arc. All the fights in this arc are amazing. Obviously the naruto v sasuke is the best. I love the way the show Sasuke's past. Really well depicted. Even the kimimaro v gaara and drunken Rock lee was really cool although Kimmaro's story is little repitative (reminds me of Haku).
All in all the show is simply brilliant. The story is amazing, the action and the emotional aspects are handled very well.

| Naruto is a series that will leave nobody indifferent. While some people love the serie (I am one of them), other simply hate it. Well, I think that effectively, Naruto lacks of a good an consistent story, and the beggining is weak, but I kept looking at it because of its great reputation, and the superb soundtrack, although the characters annoyed me (I am the best, I'm gonna be the Hokage, and all that crap on almost every character). But the serie began to show its real face when Orochimaru makes his first appereance. Then the characters change in a 100%, and everyone tries to help each other, and the dialogues changed, too. After that, the chuunin tournament was pretty funny, but it still didn't convince me at all. Everything changes when ero-sennin (Jiraiya-sama) appears. The man is really special! (I will talk about him on Character Review). After the second tournament, and a great surprise in it, a new and completely different story starts. So since chaps. 50-135, Naruto is a very good series. Unfortunately, it takes too long, and I can see why Naruto gets so bad evaluation sometimes.
Anyway, the action scenes, combined with the music, makes Naruto unique. Definitely a must see...if you have enough time and patience to wait for the good part.
After episode 135, the fillers for the start of Shippuden Manga converts the series into a plain one, and this part is not definitely worth seeing, they lack absolutely of the intensity of the main part. Its better to wait and watch Shippuden after a period.

| I had to add my review to this anime to give a counterpoint to most of these guys` drooling.
Most relevant points have been covered already, so I`ll try to just touch on the stuff that really stood out to me. As others have pointed out, and I will only touch on lightly, this anime starts off slow, and rather poorly.
But the artists really know their stuff, and their style is very apparent in each of the character designs, even the extras. Sometimes the animation really lags, but the animation shines when it counts: during the fight scenes. Gone are the days of DBZ when you see the same 5 frames over again with people throwing punches, and the opponent dodging/blocking them. You get to see great coreographed battles, that can get very interesting with the inclusion of their shuriken.
The story seems like it can be interesting, but there are major sections of the show that don`t progress the story at all, and sometimes I forget the reason they`re out wherever-they-are for quite a few episodes.
Later on it does get a bit more interesting, but at some points you get a major sense of deja vu as you see people stare each other down and explain exactly how their attacks worked, and how the enemy countered them. What is this? I was under the impression that Dragonball Z was discontinued. For those who like DBZ, this is certainly a major upgrade, and you`ll probably think its the greatest thing to happen to anime since sliced bread.
When large portions of my time are taken up with no story progression, I start to think less of the anime, and this one certainly does that. I think there was a fight scene that lasted 8 episodes... thats 3 hours and 20 minutes, and even when some of the cool stuff happens, you CANNOT keep a fight interesting that long. Period. Especially when they usually involve the main characters, and meta-game knowledge tells us that the main character isn`t going to die, or if he falls, he`ll be rescued at the last minute. So there`s really no suspense or worry that the character who seems beaten - might die.
So while I`m not going to say this anime is bad, and I`m not going to say it doesn`t have a lot of good qualities about it. I WILL say that it certainly doesn`t belong at the #1 anime spot by any means. And this anime has a select audience. People who like watching TV in general (used to getting lots and lots of filler, through commercials, etc) and people who liked DBZ.
Thanks for reading.
Disclaimer: I have only seen up to episode 36. And while I generally make a policy of not reviewing anime until I`ve finished watching it, this one has so many episodes it makes that policy difficult. And I don`t hold much hope that it will change much in the distant future.

| Naruto started as a wonderful thriller but eventually bogged down into filler-land with no real plot and endless side adventures. The first few arcs are awesome and will get watchers hooked but the fillers that eventually take over the series just ruins it.

| Personally this is a tough anime for me to score. I want to like it....no, I DID like it however, through some parts, and most certainly at the end I felt let down. That perhaps something was missing or maybe it was that as the viewer, it was pretty evident the show lost focus and ran out of steam. This show honestly had no business being 220 episodes and does serve as an example why it isn't generally a good idea to have these MEGA-animes spanning greater that 100 episodes because somewhere along the way the story will lose it's integrity. While it's popularity is certainly indisputable, the success of Naruto probably turned it into a cash cow for the many parties involved, reducing from a genuinely promising and exciting show to little more than anime McDonald's.

| While initially great this series is terribly inconsistant and general quality declines over time. Art quality varies from arc to arc, music beyond OPs & EDs is not stunning but tis decent, characters are good but at times flat and two dimensional, it looses in value but excels in enjoyment.

| Naruto was the first anime which I saw in it's full Japanese version (In Japanese, without any cuts, without knowing anything about Japanese anime). And like most of the reviews have said, Naruto completely blew me away. So much so that I watched the first 135 episodes in just one week (averaging over 19 episodes per day). This was around 2 years ago. So why did I put off reviewing this for all this time? Well for one - if I had reviewed it back then it would be like the hundreds of reviews which go [Start]"awesome!!!....."[End]. Because Naruto is not that original and certainly "not the best anime ever". It is however a wonderful adaptation of a manga which has some very good characters coupled with an easy going plot which is very easy to get into and quite entertaining.

| Naruto fails as a series so badly that its not even funny.I highly dislike naruto and there are very few things in this anime that make it even a little bit worth watching .
animation- I can honestly say that the animation was very nice and was well done.the backdrops were decent nothing great but they werent bad either.I have only one complaint with the animation is that the character design is boring and half the characters look alike.
Sound-The music was pretty bad .The voice acting had to have been the most annoying that i have ever heard in a series and yes i have seen sister princess. The only opening that sounded half decent was the third opening the rest sound bad
Story- The stoery is the worst part boy has a deamon in him and wants to prove that he is the best ninja ever. does this sound familiar?I thaught this is a very played out plot and was just something that gave me no interest once so ever.
characters-These characters are all very boring , bland and fall under the typical stereotype.the only characters that were half decent were hinata, kakashi, sai and maybe hiden.
overall i id not enjoy this series and it is average at best i would only recommened this anime to young kids who are just getting into anime and this is definetly not for anyone who wants an anime that makes you think.

| Who doesn't know Naruto? It's one of the widest known animes ever. I remember I started this anime a few years ago and now I want to review it. Since the new Naruto is coming out. (UGH! I won't be watching that.) My scores are all over the place for Naruto, because it's a really hard anime to rate. Like I don't know how I watched 108 episodes of this anime, even though I didn't like it. And almost everyone in the anime world knows this anime and for everyone obsessed with this anime they tend to talk about it nonstop. And I mean NONSTOP!
Animations are average. You have your background which is simple, but does the job. You have your characters which look well drawn. The animations are good, but not outstanding.
OP and ED were mediocre. Not one outstanding song in this anime. OMG! Which is hard to believe when there are like twenty billion opening, ending, or background music in this anime. Except for the 2nd OP, which was at least kind of good. Voice acting is not good at all. Well not for the three main characters. Background music is there, but they play the same background music over again. Which totally makes the song boring to listen to and you get to here for like 200 episodes?
Beginning starts off promising until you get to a lot of flashback scenes and memory scenes. Then you go OH NO ANOTHER FLASHBACK!! This anime had too many flashbacks and that made me crazy. I stopped at episode 108, but I heard that the rest of the anime was fillers. Good thing I stopped then.
If you haven't heard of Naruto then it's about a ninja who finds out he has extraordinary ninja skills and is set on a team to complete missions and save whatever world they live in. Simple and works. There are some touching scenes, but they aren't as touching as some real drama scenes, but there good still.
BLEH! I remember my cousin asked me who was my favorite character in Naruto and that made me think. I realized all of the characters are annoying in their own way.
Naruto is annoying. That's it. There's no other way of describing him.
Sasuke is too quiet and he acts like he's all popular and stuff. So I don't like that in a character.
Sakura - She basically does nothing and just stares at how beautiful Sasuke is. Typical Boring Character.
Everyone else is so-so or bad. Characters are my least favorite part of this nutritious breakfast. I mean anime. XD
How Naruto got me to watch 108 episodes beats me. Who knows what I did for ..... (Let's see 108 multiple by 24 equals ...) 2592 minutes. (Woah, I just realized how much of that anime I spent my life on) If I can convert right then I spent about 43 hours on that anime. So since it got me to spend 43 hours on it. I'm giving it a 10 for value. YAY!

| This anime is about The Number One Hyperactive, Knucklehead Ninja: Naruto who strives to become a real ninja.
I suggest you only see 20ep or so, a few videos and go on to "Naruto: Shippuuden" witch is the really good anime; this first thing is a waste of time... you might just read the manga which dose not have all of those flashback and fillers. Even though the chuunin exam section was really good, there were some episodes that reminded how the show really is. In this review I tried to take into account only the first 135 episodes when the show was above avarege, later on becoming ‘... but I failed miserably.

| Naruto is the type of show that could be watched if you came home from a hard day of school/work, wanted to watch a good anime, but didn't want to think a lot. I'm not saying that this is the greatest anime ever. I'm saying that it is an entertaining show with some good action.

| Naruto is a very unique anime in that it is a victim of its own sucess. After episode 135 the anime no longer scripted off the manga since the anime cought up the manga. To preserve profits for the manga series the animated series went into "filler episode" mode for well over 65 episodes instead of discountinuing the series and picking up the next story arc a year later. During this time, Naruto and Co. would go on little missions without real character development or continuation of the real story line. After a while the series itself alienated portions of its fan base since the story line and animation was not up to par (far from it IMHO) with previous episodes. Now that classic Naruto has ended let's hope the next installment will pick up where it left off.

| Finally, i can review Naruto since the new series is out.. to tell you the truth, i've only watched until episode 151, so that was like the beginning of the fillers almost. (End of Scent Bug arc iirc)
Ok, first off, Naruto is a decent little Shonen show, the action is plentiful, unpredictable most of the time (especially with the replacement/replication techniques) and it provides good entertainment. Naruto in a little nutshell is a modern day Dragon Ball Z in terms fo appealing the masses with action and an abundance of tension and characters to keep the audience captivated, same with almost any shonen shows but Naruto manages the formula of great animation coupled with great insta-appeal with anime fans.
Story-wise, like most shonen shows, it's not important, in general, the show goes from Naruto aiming to be the best to Naruto searching for Sasuke. Its a standard theme and plot, which will be largely forgetful because the characters and action makes up for it. As I said, the characters make this show quite a bit, the main cast each have their own unique ability (semi X-men powers like) despite the Chakra system(a copycat off Nen system from HxH) allowing everybody to have a 'fair' fighting ground. In temrs of power levels with the Chakra system, its quite debateable if it matters, in DBZ, its deemed that those with a higher power level would win in a fight, in Naruto, Chakra level is very important but the number of techniques used and how to use them are far important, so the layer of strategy in fighting really stems from these techniques BUT the fights themselves are mainly a power fest with a few exceptions (mainly involving Shikamaru) that involves brain over brawn. Back to characters, well, development is early and easily disposed of, main villains get their own little episode to dwell upon and it never goes truly serious even with the presence of the new badguy in town, did i feel for any of the emotional moments in the show? No.. not really...
Into the filler parts of the show, well... despite me watching only a few episodes of filler and skipping the rest, there's really every good reason to dock marks for these blasphemy. The two arcs i watched, involved a mini-story that goes nowhere in developing any character or main storyline, so branded useless, its just there to keep the fans happy. And after 100 episodes of it, im sure even hardcore fans will be grating their teeth.
Concluding, Naruto is a show that fills any action fan's cup, plus some more. Its interesting fights and number of characters are unique to be watchable but a somewhat generic path of pacing, comedy, story and flashback development really hampers this great series. Unwatchable and tongue-in-cheek filler make this show slightly less worth watching.
Overall, 7.5/10

| In the beginning, Naruto was quite good, but, after episode 80 (when the chuunin exam arc ends), the series' story slowly and gradually worsened.
What really killed the series was the huge amount of fillers, which made them lose a part of the fanbase. The main story is resterting this month (feb. 07), but from what I saw in the manga, it doesn't stand out from the rest.
Average animation, not really on par with the better ones from this year or 2002.
Almost no character development or mental growth. Some characters which I enjoyed very much in the beginning, are now just repetitive, dull and hateful.
Naruto (the character) is the worst case. What was once the peak character of the anime, now, after over 200 episodes he had no growth... still with the same ideals, personality, interactions, and still with a crush on Sakura. It's preposterous.
Sakura, another one, to think she still is fallen in love with Sasuke after so many episodes. And she still barely looked to Naruto. Ridiculous.
Naruto anime is full of these characters, so you better be ready, or you'll end bored of the series.

| It is very hard to review Naruto....because there are two sides: you could be nice because you like the actual story and you could be harsh because of the fillers.
Generally, at the beginning, the story was excellent. In a hidden ninja village-A lone boy isolated because at birth he was chosen as the vessel for the Nine Tails Fox demon. Adults hated him and told their children to stay away from Uzumaki Naruto. He becomes immature and does pranks for attention. Then, over the course of time, he becomes mature. He has strong principles like protecting and having faith in his friends, and keeping his word-his 'way of the ninja'. The messages this anime send out are quite inspirational.
However, the fillers totally spoilted it. That's why Naruto will barely get a 10 in reviews. It was perfect until they decided to included fillers so the manga could get further ahead. Like some reviewers said, why not just pause the anime and go on a hiatus? The storylines and animation during the fillers was a stark contrast to the real story episodes.
The characters are also great. There are all sorts of people combined in Naruto, besides the main character which I already talked about, and unlike in some other animes, Naruto focuses on even theminor character's growth. Some people say the character Sasuke, a dark boy traumatised by the annihilation of his clan by his own brother, is too overboard, but in those times revenge and honour were vital. There is only one character which i might think others are justified to dislike-Sakura. However, the rest of the characters are pretty well defined.
Sound is pretty good too. The sound effects were suitable for the situations they were used in. The soundtrack music was great to listen to, with great bands such as FLOW and Orange Range involved.
Animation was of a good standard too. Except for the fillers. It was clear, and the fight scenes were easy to watch.
Value-The first two to three seasons are worth it. DO NOT buy the fillers.
Overall:
Naruto was an excellent anime up until the filers began. That, and excessive cheap merchandising of Naruto products-like Pokemon and Yugioh, made people believe Naruto to be for young kids. Actually, it's suited for most ages.
Hopefully Naruto will pick up after february when the fillers stop.
