| I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. Armitage seemed to me a "babes and guns" anime. But I was able to get the DVD cheap, so I couldn't resist buying it. So I put it in the DVD player with the intention of passing time, and it was just that. Nothing more, nothing less. It was a very pleasant action-packed 90 minute movie. The animation was VERY good, and the plot was cohesive enough to hold for the running time. While it's not the most memorable thing in the world, it is enjoyable enough and you could probably watch this several times without getting bored.
PS - This is the only Armitage I have seen...take that for what you will (:D? D:?)

| Better than its prequel, Armitage Dual Matrix is an entertaining popcorn movie. Armitage is a better character this time around; instead of kicking ass in hot-pants, she now beats up the bad guys in a bra and mini-skirt. You’ll think she’ll be a more conservative dresser now that she has a kid and all. Although her daughter provides an outlet for emotion, she really has no significant role in the story. This movie is quick and easy to watch, but there was a bit too much screen time with the Armitage clones; it seems as if this movie could have ended sooner than it actually did. Excellent animation combines with competent voice acting (particularly that of Mouse’s seiyuu haha) to make a pleasant ninety minutes that’s all in good fun. Recommended if you liked the first one or just want anything cyber-punk.

| Armitage III Dual matrix, in my opinion, is a discrete anime movie.
The animation is good, with a good use of Computer Graphics.
The music creates a discrete atmosphere and the sound effects are well done.
The story contains a lot of action, but is a little bit banal.
The main character is Naomi Armitage who is characterized very well and has all the shadings that made her great in the first OVA.
So...I think that this is an anime just to enjoy one evening with a lot of action. If you are looking for something deeper...this movie isn`t fo you.

| Armitage III Duel Matrix was not that great of a movie. Naomi Armitage may be a damn cool character but this movie is not up to par with others. Story wise this movie was somewhat lacking, it mostly seems like random enmies popping out of no where to fight her. The battle with her clones is pretty cool. (random comment). If you want to know more read on.

| This is a miserable followup to Armitage 3, it is one contrivance after another in an effort to cash in on the orginal movie/OVA. Everything that happens to set the movie up is a coincidence, and completly unbelievable, and I found all the fighting to uninspired, and silly.
This is really your basic "child in threat" TV movie, spruced up with a sci-fi setting.
The only thing about this movie that is better than the first is that fact it had a japanese voice track, so I could enjoy that. Of course, even if I had to listen to the English track, I am quite sure that Juliet Lewis is 10 times better than Elizabeth Berkley.

| Im Vergleich zum gelungenen OVA ist dieser Movie mehr auf der schwächelnden Seite. Während das OVA noch moralische Tiefe und tolle Charakterentwicklung bot ist hier weit und breit nichts mehr davon zu sehen. Die Story ist hauchdünn und die Figuren verkommen komplett zu stupiden Klischeeheros deren einzige Aufgabe darin besteht für Action zu sorgen. Man muss zwar sagen das, dank der stark verbgesserten Animationen, diese Action um einiges knalliger und rasanter rüber kommt als es noch im OVA der Fall war, doch leider machen Explosionen und Zerstörung alleine nicht glücklich, der Rest ist zum Vergessen. Nur Leuten zu empfehlen die sich einen Dreck um Charaktere und Story scheren und es knallen sehn wollen, denn mehr wird man in Dual Matrix nicht finden.

| This was the first one I saw of all the rest of Armitage. I did not do my usual research and ended up seeing this one first by accident. That being said, I really enjoyed this movie. The animation was very beautiful, but not perfect. The sound was nice too. The story may be be a recycled one, but it was still enjoyable. I feel grateful in a way that I saw this first because it seems that a few people judged this by the past episodes. I will have to see the rest now.

| On its own this is a mediocre cyberpunk flick. But if compared to the original OVA, it is nothing more than empty pointless crap done to get more cash from Armitage's popularity. The characters are turned into soulless kick ass action heroes and their unique charisma is completely lost.
The story is pointless. Everything there was to be said was said in the original. This is mostly a bunch of boring action scenes joined with lots of boring cliches. It almost stinks of a Hollywood summer blockbuster with all the shallow one-liners thrown here and there and the sole reliance on action to entertain the audience.
This is not the worst anime I've seen but I'd advise people to avoid it, whether they've watched the original or not. It is not worth the wasted time, even if you're desperate to see more Armitage.

| Welcome to more of the same. Like I said, this show was for completists. I believe Dual Matrix only exists as a cash in on a story that could have been left alone after the first one. (Poly-Matrix)
There are better action sequences and special effects in this one, and the animation is much more well done, but the rest is recyling alot of the old ideas and making it into more a "If you loved the first one, get the second one, if not, you're not missing much" Scenario.
There's alot about this movie that isn't explained to well...like the conception of Naomi's Daughter.
In summary, if you were down with Armitage III: Poly Matrix, grab this one, if you were so-so about it, give it a rental at best, or just move on.

| This is much worse and better than Poly-Matrix and the OVA. The animation is better but the story seems to be strained. It feels like they tried to squeeze out just enough to turn into another movie. I liked the music but it basically fits in a DBZ theme.
1.Beaten by evil
2.Hero discovers power they never had before.
3.Hero beats evil.
It was something that I enjoyed to watch once, but never again. Rent but do not buy this anime. Rather than buy 1, rent them all. There is no real character development and if you did not see the OVA and Poly-Matrix first you will be left clueless. This is more like a special than a movie.

| Why such a low score? Is it cuz Armitage is less of a bad ass in this one? I think it makes a lot of sense to mellow her out (considering she has been a mom for what, 6 years or something like that). I think this is an excellent sequel to an excellent OVA. Everything's great about this. I watched a dubbed version. The person who played Armitage had the perfect voice, but the translated dialogue and the fact that everyone talks like they're out of breath kinda ruins it. The music was excellent though. If you liked the OVA, you'll like this too. Recommend!

its a true action anime. i had the feeling some parts have been stolen from. the voice acting is suprb!!!
Animations:
well done animations i think they should have continued with the same sort of animations but they didn't they used too much shade and computer power to generate these images nice. yet the movie and the OVA wich you defently need to see to understand or like this movie use a very diffrent animation kind.
Sound:
for a movie it misses a bit too much background sound. yet on the action parts the music helps to intense the action. also the voice acting was suprb therefor its defently a 9. the voice acting english and Japanse were perfect
Story:
as i had the feeling some parts have been stolen from other movies animations. the story really is just a rollback of the OVa and the movie from 8 years ago. with diffrend characters and stuff. it has little to add extra.
Characters:
Naomi lost her spicy in you face additude wich kinda makes it less fun to watch. well ofcourse this is all very understanble with a 6 year old kid and 6 years beeing a parent without action you get kinda covered under dust.
there where more characters. i found the use of Naomi's brother julian a bit too little they could have done so much more with it.
Value:
with the warning of many bad revieuws and the warning of friends that this would be the worst of the 3. i finnally had decided to watch it. with sweaty hands i opened the box and turned it into the player.
after a good start wich truly putted a smile on my face. wich also reminded me of the good parts of Armitage III - OVA. they ended up relyng to much on it.
Enjoyment:
its not a bad anime. its a classic story. with a lot of good action relyng to much on the succes of Armitage III and poly matrix.

| For a sequel to the Poly-Matrix this was really bad. Armitage has lost that spunky look and IN YOUR FACE punk rock attitude – infact she looks like a girl who’s been married for 6 years and has a kid. The worst part is that they rewrote the history created in the first movie just to make this lame storyline work. Her daughter sees a cut in her arm which shows a piece of steel and from this her daughter is suppose to figure out that her mother is a robot. But Ross (her father) has an artificial arm and leg from the first sequel. If he’s been walking around the apartment in his shorts then she must have seen them. But wait, at the very last seen of the movie we see them standing in the ocean by the beach and Ross has no artificial arm and leg. Plus there is no character development at all. There are just so many holes in this storyline that you can drive a truck thru it. Considering that Poly-Matrix was Pioneers Flagship first release in the USA they should have done much better on the sequel.

| Hmmmmm... what to say about this sequel. Well, it's like the first movie. It can't be better than Ghost in the Shell.
The thing that shocked me was animation, there was too much CG animation. I was disguted. It's not immersive to see CG mixed with 2D. The take sets are rubbish, when the camera move, I don't see the perspective of the buildings.
The music wasn't so good. I hate to hear rock during a battle scene, I like better to hear a relaxing atmospheric music like in Ghost in the Shell.
The story wasn't bad, but they could put more plot and make it deeper. There was too much action.
The characters are good. The relation between mother-daughter is touching.
Overall: it's a medium movie. Not great but not bad.
I would like to see better actions scenes when they are presents. They were not enough intense. It's too easy too know that the main character will win.

| Well, I can't say that I am sorry that I saw this Anime, but I sure could have spent a better ninenty minutes of my life.
This movie followed the traditional "visually stunning yet ultimately pointless sequel" path. It was animated VERY well, and has some cool scenes, but by the end I realized nothing too important had happened.
The story was weak, and the characters (even though I was supposed to know them from Polymatrix) were shallow.
I can only recommend this if you are desperate and don't feel like using a single brain cell to understand it.

| Well I bought this dvd even though I heard it wasn't as great as the OVA/Polymatrix series. Didn't matter to me since i hadn't seen them either.
I'll say this. I watched the first 45min and was so bored by it that I put off watching the rest of it til a week and a half later. Yet when I finished watching the whole thing, it wasn't bad in the middle of the series where they go to save Yoko and everything right down to the very end.
The Animation is awesome. Its pretty dark yet has some sort of light to it that makes it shine(wow that sounded corny)
The Characters were ok, yet Mouse helped liven' things up although the English voice actor of him I didn't enjoy as much. One thing that made it boring for me is it seems everyone is either walking or standing for some reason and the only person sitting is the villain.
And as for the story....yeah...clones...
Not that I'm dissing them because I found the scenes with them very exciting.
And although during some very suspenseful parts, my mind wandered off asking stupid questions like, "Even in a stressful setting, Ross says the 'S-Word' in front of his daughter 3 to 4 times with no reaction from her. Does that mean he says it alot in front of her in daily life? Tsk Tsk." and "How come it takes Naomi 10 seconds to memorize a car liscence plate and yet she can scan into a computer system to find out what room her daughter is located in a building with over 100 floors and possibly over 2,000+ rooms in 5 seconds." Boggles my mind at least.
Nice action, top-notch animation with an ok plot. I suggest this as a rental and not a purchase. Its not as bad as you might think at first, so give it a chance to warm up.
Oh! And wait for the credits to finish rolling at the end. You'll get a little something special^_^

| I have many complaints about Dual Matrix, but I must admit, it is an improvement over already solid Poly Matrix.
Pros:
-Visuals, again spectacular
-Better voice acting than the prequel
-Much better character development
-A few comic reliefs, which were absent in Poly Matrix
Cons:
-Since when did Ross turn into such a coward?
-Lame antagonists. C'mon, couldn't they have thought of something better than Naomi Clones?

| Armitage isn't very badass in this. In fact, i liken here to more of a weak, whining, Sailor Moon.
The acting and dialogue is poor whether it be sub or dub. I don't even remember which i saw to tell you the truth. As with most bad anime, the animation is the only saving grace, but when you grade it on a tougher scale considering what's possible in other movies, it's really not that great. And from what i remember, the action was pretty boring, which also limits how good the animation can be for what's supposed to be an action/scifi flick.
