| Entgegen meiner niedrigen Erwartungen muss ich sagen das dieser Movie bei mir für mehr Kurzweil sorgen konnte als ich im Vorfeld angenommen hatte. Ghost Sweeper Mikami ist zwar kein sonderlich herausragendes Werk aber für die nette Unterhaltung zwischendurch reicht es. Inhaltlich geht der Film eher wenig originelle Wege und vor allem die Story ist standardmäßiges 08/15 Monstermovie-Klischee: Eine Gruppe die sich dem jagen von Geistern und Dämonen verschrieben hat muss die Welt vor einem gefährlichen Vampir retten der nach seiner Widerauferstehung in Tokyo für Terror sorgt. Alles sehr linear und direkt auf den Punkt ohne Überraschungen und Ähnliches aber, dank einem recht gut gelungenen Mix aus Comedy-Einlagen sowie einem ordentlichen Anteil Action, unterm Strich eigentlich nie langweilig. Die Charaktere sind zwar etwas Klischee und typisch für das Genre (Angsthase, Priester, ein Vampir der auf der Seite der Guten kämpft) aber sie kommen sympathisch rüber und ich hätte gute Lust sie wieder in Aktion zu sehen und mehr über sie zu erfahren, was damit gleichzusetzen ist das ich mich durch diesen Movie dazu motiviert fühle mal Ausschau nach der TV-Serie zu halten. Wie gesagt: Dieser Film reisst keine Bäume aus aber Alles in Allem stellt er einen netten kleinen Ableger des Grusel-Comedy-Genres dar den man sich zu Gemüte führen sollte wenn man an Animes wie "Ushio & Tora" oder "Phantom Quest Corp." gefallen findet.

| I seem to be the only guy that really enjoyed this movie.
I really like old pieces of anime, you don't see that sorta style of animation nowadays. This is also my first exposure into the Mikami world, I found the laid back sorta comedy quite enjoyable. Mikami's sense of money greed was also quite hilarious to watch. All in all I had a lotta fun watching the Mikami and her large variety of ghost fighting heroes.

| Even though I have no experience with Ghost Sweeper Mikami TV, the movie version was easy to watch and understand which says a lot when you look at other movies-taken-from-telvision\ova-series.
Not bad by any means, Ghost Sweeper doesnt shine as much as another ghost-detective series running at the same time, Phantom Quest Corp. The whole movie felt pretty average to me in terms of the physical aspects of the show and the story itself. It's funny, and gets it's point across, but it's not something you'll remember for years to come (unless you've seen the TV series more then likley).
Just under 60 minutes, this movie was a nice "watch it for the heck of it" and left me feeling good enough to be interested in watching the TV series if I can find it.
