| Like Full Moon it starts off looking cute, bright, shoujo but it gets darker/deeper about growing up. It's not just a cute anime... whoever said that must've seen one ep.
Nice short anime that is unique in its own right like how it doesn't have fan-service or anythign like that.

| Nanaka 6/17 has represented a fully enjoyable and quite refreshing experience.
Animation: true, it's quite simple, but its simplicity really hooked me. No special effects or amazing computer graphics, just simple delightful backgrounds and likeable character design.
Plus, a nice use of colours. I always prize colorful animes, so that's it. I found them to be joyful for the eyes.
The childish Nanaka emits happiness just from her aspect, so it is for the other main characters.
Sincerely I couldn't been expecting nothing more from arts.
Sounds: another really valued factor into this anime.
There's a lot of good things: I'd start from the OP, catchy and funny, then I can't avoid to mention the BGMs , always fitting the various moments.
The ED is average.
Really worthable dubbing, above all the childish Nanaka. But I liked much Nenji's voice and Amemiya's voice (the onnipresent Horie Yui) too.
Story: the story is really quite interesting. Starting from the concept to the linear progress of events.
The series manages to keep a quite deep emotional involvment throghout the 12 episodes.
I wasn't really satisfied by the ending, but we know, the endings are a regular flaw for an anime. The ending doesn't break up the bonds that the series created. It's a fact to me, that Nanaka 6/17 is a quite deep series, if you want to reflect a bit beyond what you see.
A bit of my expectations wasn't fulfilled by the last episode so I decided not to value this anime with a full 9, as I had kind of stated before the ending.
I guess it wouldn't had been easy to break up all the ties, but so we are, 8 goes to a plot who remains interesting nonetheless.
Character: The main chars are four: the two Nanakas, Nenji and Amemiya. I'm stating this since there are side chars (I think particularly of three: the blonde child, the tall punk and his sister) which are quite useless. I mean, maybe they bring a bit of fun here and there, but they really have zero influence onto the story-line.
Anyway, 6 year old Nanaka is adorable. Her attitude and conduct are always so cute and funny, her "hawawa" and "hayaya" are so nice to hear. Her espansivity is infectious.
Her alter-ego is the 17 y.o. Nanaka, a selfish, introverse, close-minded, I'd say also quite unbearable girl. All of her world are the books, and Nenji.
Naturally this behaviour causes to her the fact of having no friends, and lots of people harshly criticizing her.
I agree with people who said that this is a quit unaffordable character, but it's so realistic. People like this do exist. Maybe the Magical Domiko's magic has brought something fresh and new in her.
That's why I was a bit disappointed by the ending, we couldn't see the *new* 17 y.o. Nanaka. Would have she been the same, or (as I think) a different one? And if different, how different?
Nenji is the guy who matures throughout the series, his presence is obviously necessary for the series but its being the only thing that Nanaka sees (either at 6 or 17 years old) maybe constitutes something of forced. Overall a nice and agreeable characters.
Amemiya Yuriko was the character you didn't expect to like much, at the beginning, but then, with her altruist self disguised by a selfish and egocentric way of showing to others. She'll improve consistently, she will help Nanaka instead of antagonizing her due to her crush for Nenji. So, you'll like her at the end, for sure.
Overall Nanaka 6/17 is an above average anime in my opinion. I think a quite good job has been done so I give a 9 for value. I've watched the version subbed by anime-fin, nice job, although I have to say this series features a quite easy to understand japanese spoken language.
Enjoyment: 9/10 , yes, I really enjoyed this series and I watched it in a brief time since at every end of episode I was curious about the continuing.
Some laughters, smiles but also some moment of reflections, this anime features all of this.
If you like the drama/comedy branch, this will fulfill your tastes.

| I was a bit dissappointed when i finished it. The story is definitely lacking enjoyment. It doesn't make me wanna know what happens next...
Animation and music doesn't stand out much. I guess you can call it normal but i believe story and character is more important.
Story isn't as exciting as i thought. Couple episodes are pretty funny but the story is lacking excitment.
Charcters were done horiblely. The main girl (Nanaka) realllllly erritates me with her personality. Character development isn't too deep. They don't change much during the series. (Pink hair girl would make a better couple.....)
Overall it is a so-so "Drama/Comedy"

| Here, I suppose that this is the "First Version of Midori no Hibi." As mentioned before, these two anime are quite similar in some way. Of course, this is another romantic comedy, and most of the characters are similar in someway. "Nanaka 6/17," however, did something different: The main character, Kirisato Nanaka, had an accident that her personality switched between a 6-year-old kid and a 17-year-old girl. Nanaka, originally a bookworm herself, changed her personality to a little kid after the accident. Jinji, "the first version of Sawamura." A punk kid that were a good friend to Nanaka, has to take care of her after the accident. Of course, he will be the one who's going to change after this incident. Then, we have Amemiya, which IS Ayase in Midori no Hibi, creates the love triangle in this relationship. Yosida, another otaku just like Takamizawa in Midori no Hibi, follows the main female character way too often. The difference is: He follows her because of a common interest, "Magical Domiko-chan." Actually, he just a sidekick and assist Nanaka throughout the series.
Most of the plots are around how Nanaka's school life changes after the accident. Of course, by the changes of her personality, things will changes a lot: The rank #1 bookworm in class struggling in differnet subjects, her classmates started to take advantages of her because of her cocky and nerdy attitude before...etc. Jinji is the one who protect Nanaka from other harms. The most intense rivalry can be observed, which is between Yuriko and Nanaka. But it is resolved peacefully at the later episodes. The ending of this series is quite make sense, that Nanaka has finally recovered and return to her normal school life.
There's are quite some psychological aspects in this anime: Nanaka's psychological sickness caused by an accident do makes sense and probably may happen in reality. The description of how Nanaka overcome her 6-year-old-self is also very discriptive (which that Magical Domiko is a main factor that holds Nanaka into her 6-year-old self.). Therefore, this is quite a big plus for this anime.
In general, very relaxing anime to enjoy. Recommend this anime to the viewers who love romantic comedy. This can really match "Midori no Hibi," which is one year after the finale of this anime.

| Nanaka 6/17...the reminensence of childhood memories...the pain of losing your childhood innocence and prepare for "adulthood"
Animation: Animation is top notch, as expected from J.C. Staff. Characters move fluidly, the artstyle stays consistent, and I really like the cute round facial style. There`s enough going on in each scene to warrant the audience`s attention.
Sound: OP song is very, very sugoi. Sung by FUNTA (Pita-ten!) and having a very decent Coorie ending song makes the sound department in Nanaka 6/17 a 10. BGMs in the anime fit the mood perfectly, whether going for a comedy feel or a drama feel. I could still hum the Magical Domical theme and the piano that was played in the first episode.
Story: Guy has childhood friend, promised they will grow up together, then girl recieves concussion, becomes a 6 year old girl. Very unique storyline, (like Midori no Hibi) but wasn`t executed very well. Whenever Nanaka turns back to her studious 17 year old self, I felt that the anime was about to end. That happened in episode 7, when the scene with Nanaka in her dream was the 3rd most emotional dramatized scene I`ve ever seen in an anime. (After ep 4 in kgne and ep 26 in Pita Ten) This anime didn`t know when it was going to end, but nevertheless it had an ending. Episode 8 is pure filler, but a very funny one at that.
Character: Likeable characters. The main character, Nenji, is very responsible and the development he goes through in the anime is very noticeable. Nanaka`s 6 year old self is very kawaii, and Amemiya (voiced by Yui Horie) rounds out an excellent cast. The seiyuu`s all did their voices well. I really liked Nanaka`s little sayings, like hararara and hyun. (can match up to Ayu`s uguuu and Hinata`s uunya!)
Value: This anime is way worth the twelve episode time frame it`s in. Even with a weak ending, the plot is strong enough, and the characters likeable enough to make this a very decent anime.
Enjoyment: I really liked Nanaka 6/17. Don`t know why it only has 6.86 on AnIDB, but it`s an A in my book!

| Couldn't believe J.C.STAFF made some anime with such a BAD visual quality. It looks like something coming out of the 1980s. The idea, 17 going 6, is great, however, it wasnt implemented right. Our main character just constantly switches from a little idiot to a big nerd, without revealing too much thinking process which should've played a big part in this anime. Other supporting characters ain't helping either. They are just average anime Joes and Janes.
For a studio which couldn't handle character design yet, J.C.STAFF obviously picked the wrong topic for making an anime. For these materials, no one can make a better spin than GAINAX.

| Nanaka is a heart warming story that on the surface appears to be an adorable funny shoujo series, but actually holds a lot of deep insight on aspects of growing up and losing ones inner child. The animation and sound were pretty average, nothing too special, though the opening credits were cute enough for me to sit through each and every one. The story was good, though the character development didn't seem as clear as I expected it would be, but perhaps this was part of the message. It was short, had a few slow patches here and there, but some episodes were golden (especially the episode where Nenji is home sick- I almost fell out of my seat laughing...priceless!) So it all evens out. The characters are pretty good for this type of anime. Six year old nanaka was so cute it kept me wanting to see more of her!
I enjoyed this series, and it made me think about where the child in me had gone too (well, I guess it can't be too far since I was enjoying this series a lot). It warmed my heart like chicken soup and was really hillarious at times. Definently recommend!

| I thought I was watching this for the fun and laughter peace and joy.
Wrong! Though amusing and cute, Nanaka 6/17 goes deeper as an examination of growing pains - something that I was able to relate to deeply - loss of innocence, cynicism and all that.
Don't dismiss this series as just a cute show, or worse, kiddy, especially after watching just the beginning. It's in the later part that the show gets down to the real business.
The ending is a bit of a flop, though, I'd expected a greater positive change in Nanaka (17).
Good to watch for plain amusement, better if you can relate to the issues contained therein.

| Another successful mahou shoujo series that is inspiring and heart warming. I was well amused and entertained by Nanaka 6/17 and would definately watch it again. I think this anime series brought out every emotion of mine and converted into something I was embarrassed of. (Excluding the possible emotions that could be taken out of ecchii/fanservice, bloody violence, and mechs) What I liked most was the story I think, I'm not quite sure - everything had it's ups and downs. There were many alternations of moods: like at one scene it would be serious...but then the next five minutes would feature something fun and humorous!

| This anime was quite fun to watch. I liked the fact that the anime was short and sweet. While the first few episodes dealt mainly with the comedic situation of a child in an adult's body, the latter half of the episode developed the story quite well.
The 6 year old Nanaka was indeed a treat to watch, but I felt kind of sorry for the 17yr old Nanaka who was just trying so hard. Overall, as the other reviewers mentioned, it was very enjoyable.

| This show seems to be somewhat overlooked and underestimated, but Nanaka 6/17 is a really charming and heart-warming anime. It's like a mix of shounen comedy and shoujo drama. Its comedy part is extremely hilarious just like other good shounen romantic comedies, and its serious part is as touching as some emotional moments of other good shoujo series. I highly recommend this to anyone, but if you would like to see action-packed anime or anime with full of fan-service, then this is not for you.

| One of the best animes I've ever seen, but you have to understand it on the many different levels it offers, which I think some people may have missed.
If you just see it as cutesy "6yr-old" Nanaka bouncing around, you miss the point. The show is about growing up, and what kind of an adult you should become, and manages to perfectly walk the line between bringing up such important questions and being just plain entertaining.
There are also a ton of in-jokes for anyone who has watched Magical Girls shows, for "Nanaka" pays homage to them all (Domiko's "Pikota" is an obvious reference to "Hime-chan no Ribbon's" sidekick "Pokota").
There's no invading aliens or mecha battles. This is a gentle show about how to live ones life, that pays homage to the programs from one's childhood, and manages to be extremely entertaining as well. Very satisfying, especially if you can understand all the levels it's working on.
Great OP and ED songs too.
Would love to see this licensed.
One of my Top Two Shows of 2003.

| Well, this was an interesting watch.
The story focuses on young high school girl named Nanaka, who is something of an obsessive bookworm. She even fakes being sick to get out of gym class so she can study. The reason is that she wants to become an adult... maybe too much of an adult. She considers everyone at her school inferior and childish, even her lifelong freind Nagihara Nenji, who she scolds after she finds out he's been fighting. His response to her is less than pleasant and puts Nanaka into tears. As she runs off in her shockened state, she falls down some steps and is rendered unconscious, and when she awakens in the hospital, her memory has returned to the time when she was but 6 years old.
Nanaka's main point can be summed up as, "Learn to become an adult, but still keep the kindness and innocence that you had as a child." The story is nicely laid out as it builds up to the ending. Watching as Nanaka's innocent nature rubs off on Nenji and others is a truly heartwarming thing. The development between Nenji and Nanaka is really nicely played out as well. Some of the other characters feel a bit more than cliched, and they seem to be there just to boost up the comedy of the show, but I can't say I didn't like any of them (Nanaka's dad is a riot). The point where the story began to become lacking for me was during the last two episodes. In an attempt to be psychological, it fell short and felt dumbed down, unpoignant, and dissapointing. I was really hoping for something better. Overall, that was the only downpoint for me, hence the 7 I gave in the story department.
The sound is very nice. I especially like the ending theme, and I tend to go back and listen to it from time to time. The music fits most scenes very well, and is not overplayed. It's not anything groundbreaking, but very nice, nevertheless.
The animation was nice for the most part. Recently, many newer shows (mostly fanservice shows, which I don't bother with anyway) have been lacking in artistic flair. The backgrounds don't have that painterly look that some older shows have, and the characters feel very plastic and recycled. Nanaka does a good job of keeping that kind of thing to a minimum, and the characters don't often feel flat or pasted. They mix very well with the backgrounds and have a bit more motion in them than some shows. Not great, but not bad at all.
Overall, Nanaka was a fun ride, and it reminded me of the things about my childhood self that I want to keep and treasure. It will definetely not appeal to everyone, and if anything I've said above doesn't sound appealing, please don't watch. Maybe that will cut down on the number of overused "1's" on this website. For the rest of you, I suggest at least giving this a look. You might be pleasantly suprised. I was.

| Ummm, i didn't mind this one bit. It wasn't all that original since it can definitely be related to reality, but i bet many people find this one rather interesting. The fact that the series revolves around a snotty, 17-year-old, Nanaka, it also focuses on her 6-year-old self which is probably the main issue here. On the most part, the series attempts to humor the the audience while trying to force a strong plot. I didn't find much of a story, conflict, until the last few eps of the series. Though it does get fairly interesting.

| At frist I thuoght this was gonna be another junk anime but some howThe story turn out to be a great anime. The Character and plot go really well together. I kind of like when Nanaka switch mind from 6 to 17, she look cooler and more mature(duh~). The ending was predictable(atleast I was), although I didn't even watch the 13 ep. yet, I'm still sactified with this anime a lot.

| The storyline for me is the first, so maybe theres some originality in it. I thought this would be a love story but as it went on, it was more about nanaka as a 6 year old and 17 year old self. It was interesting enough to get you watching through to the end. The ending was alright. I can't say that this was the greatest anime nor can I say that this is a must watch for everyone. It's one of those anime that you may like alot or just thought it was interesting. The animation isn't that great either.

| Just finish watching the last ep of Nanaka, overall Nanaka is quite enjoyable. Without slightest ecchi in this romance story is perhapes why I like it so, I consider this is quite refreshing. All the female characters are very cute. The only complain I have is the length of this anime that 12 Ep is too short, many characters in the story havn't got a chance to develope further and the ending come too sudden. Otherwise I will rate it much higher.

| One of a more enjoyable anime after few disappointing animes. What I love about Nanaka 6/17 is that it gets away from many current cliche: no sexual act as comedy, the main character is actually not likeable, a simple story, etc.
The story is about a 17 year old girl, Nanaka, who fell down, and has a case of mental regression. She think she is six years old, and the story starts from there.
The animation is not as good as they could be(especially the guys' hair). The song is pretty addictive. I think the lesson that it tries to teach also make it better(pretty much about being a better person). Overall, I really enjoy the serie. I was hoping the serie is a bit longer, but then they have to change the name to Nanaka 17, instead of Nanaka 6/17. :-)
