| Among the first anime I watched... 6 years (of moderate/heavy anime watching) later, it has become my overall favorite. Something about each characters' motivation/conflict really stood out as exceptional to me. You could even understand and maybe even empathize with the antagonists.
Pacifica is a hard sell. A likable emo spoiled brat...? Somehow they pulled her off perfectly, with the help of other characters. I could understand why people would want to protect her.
Leo was a great character, not for comic relief, but as a tragic one (this really isn't spoiling anything).
I whole heartedly recommend this series... but if you're not hooked by the 4th or 6th ep, then it might not be for you. But I've watch a lot of anime, and even though my standards get more strict, Scrapped Princess still stands out as a favorite.

| OMG! I totally got this one by accident thinking it was something totally different. AND I LOVED IT. It was so cute and funny at the same time. I had a little bit of trouble trying to sort out the ending but after rewatching it, it made more sense. The music was good the graphic and battle scenes were awesome. After I watched this anime it seemed to be popping up in every converstation I would take part in. Which shows its popularity. Good chick one here. My draw backs on this were some parts drag out to much ‘Yes we know she is the poison that will kill the world’ okay MOVE ON. But it gives an interesting look at religion I know that wasn’t the main focus but try to break it down and its really interesting.

| This series proved to be the epitome of balance. There was suitable action to keep the viewer interested, enough drama to keep it moving forward, enough humor to give a smile or two, and enough of everything else to give perfect harmony to all its constituent parts. Throw in a fair number of surprises and Scrapped Princess becomes an anime to be reckoned with, a giant in the field.

| This is one awesome show. Is it FullMetal Alchemist awesome, probably not, but I'd say almost since it closely follows along that same type of anime than it does any other. It has orphan siblings on a cross-country journey, it has magic, it has the military, it has sadness and tragedy yet it still remains at the core a very optimistic anime series. This is the kind of show you'd want to pick if you wanted to watch a really really good anime series and be totally entertained. This anime took me by totally by surprise!

| What if you were destined to be damned for the rest of your life? That your very existence meant humanity was going to end? This is the life that Pacifica Casull lives. Labeled as the Scrapped Princess, she was prophesied to bring the world to an end at the age of 16 and was thrown off a cliff at birth. Pacifica survived and this fact remained a secret for 15 years. With the secret out, the church and government are doing their best to rid the world of Pacifica Casull before the destined day comes when she turns 16. Her older brother and sister Shannon and Raquel who are very skilled fighters, are not going to make it easy.
Scrapped Princess at first seemed like a medieval adventure about slaying dragons and knights with a little twist to it. While there are knights and its fair share of dragons, Scrapped Princess isn't your ordinary middle aged anime. When the story starts unraveling, you actually get that mecha anime type of feel to it. It is as if the middle aged interface is there to throw you off guard.
Though I'm not docking points off for that. Scrapped Princess was an interesting watch in its own right with an interesting story, an unexpected plot twist, and an all right cast. Actually, that is being generous. The cast is average at best. You will really feel no attachment to the characters. Events just roll and it is as if the characters are there just to serve their role. That missing connection is the one vital thing that Scrapped Princess is lacking to be an excellent anime. Not to say they are living dolls, but the cast is just very ordinary and average that does not separate itself from other characters in other animes. There are instances when you will get really annoyed of Pacifica. Since she is the Scrapped Princess, she whines almost every episode whether or not she should live or die, and this small nuisance of a conflict doesn't get handled until the last two episodes.
The story when it starts to unravel is interesting, however, other than that one big plot twist, which happens like 14 episodes deep, it just seems to stop. There is a useless arc where Pacifica forgets her memories and they spend like 7 episode trying to relocate each other after being separated. You have that urge to keep watching until the very end, but nothing really happens afterwards. The ending also isn't the most pleasing. It feels more obligatory than anything and a dissatisfying taste will be left in your mouth.
If Scrapped Princess could be described in one sentence, it is a fantasy adventure that is really a sci fi, and it is very ordinary and average. There is really nothing that Scrapped Princess excels in except for its one big plot twist, and that plot twist was a bit ruined because that was basically all to its story. However that is not to say that Scrapped Princess should not be watched. Scrapped Princess is actually constructed pretty good, but a few holes and incomplete areas bar it severely from being an excellent watch.

The story is very well paced ( actucally i dare say its the best paced story in all anime ) there is not a single dull, boring or meaningless moment .. be it a sad moment a funny moment or a tense one .. they all add to the story and the characters ... and don't get me started on the characters ... on of the most fantastic cast of characters ever .... every character is so well written and designed they feel almost real ;)
The music in the series was very good .. and i specially love the ending theme too .. its very unique ^_^

| This is a very solid anime that does a great job not only telling a story, but keeping enough detail hidden until late such that one is always interested in what is going to happen next. The characters are all likeable, although the main character is a bit less than forceful.
I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good story along with their anime.

| Scrapped Princess is the story of Pacifica Casull, a princess who was thrown away at birth because a prophecy showed she would destroy the world at the age of sixteen. Pacifica is found and raised in a village, and her life is happy until she turns fifteen. The kingdom that had attempted to dispose of her realizes she is still alive. Pacifica, with her older step-brother Shannon and step-sister Raquel, embarks on a journey to escape from those trying to kill her.
There's a lot of great action and magic involved in the story, so it's never excessively boring. The story succeeds in establishing all kinds of moods as well. There's sadness at times and lots of comedy in others.

| Few anime has a "family" feel to them where you can feel like all the characters are connected, even if they're not all related, but Scrapped Princess makes every character have a place.
Like the pieces to a puzzle, Scrapped Princess makes everything fit together.

| After writing an extremely long review it seemed i didn't log in =(.
So I'll get straight to the point. There's enough story to hook you and keep you from beginning to end, not too deep but not too shallow. The show's animation and character/world design is well done. The music is forgettable.
The strengths of the show is its characters. It boasts a large cast for only 24 episodes.
Also the weakness most characters are do not even develop at all. Even the main characters do not seem to change much from 1st episode to last. And one relationship with Shannon and Sim did not seem to get enough attention. So ends up hard to attach to any characters emotionally making the anime easy to forget.
I am suprised i am the only one who disliked the main characters. Pacifica for me had no redeeming qualities. And every action she did seem to be incredibly stupid (tries for humor i guess but ends up not too funny). Very helpless girl who knows she can not do anything helpful. Pretends she worries about other people's lives but really doesnt. If i had to relate her to another character would be Miaka from Fushigi Yuugi but worst. She has all the bad qualities of Miaka, Shin Asuka, Hikaru, May Wong, Kagome. So if you like all 5 of these characters then you will have no problem with her. During the middle of the series she turns out ok, but reverts back at the last few episodes to her incredible annoying self. Probaly for me one of the most hateable characters in all of the shows ive seen. (or ive just seen to many helpless girl who gets protected by everyone animes, very cliche)
Ultimately, nice show to watch. One see through is enough to get the feeling. Forgettable show, its like a filler anime.

| While this series didn't exactly captivate me from start to finish, I will say that Scrapped Princess was definetly worth the watch.
Excellent animation, no doubts there. I was not to impressed by the music, since it seemed to contradict the mood of the story... but it wasnt terrible either, I suppose.
The general plot was laid out fairly well, with an even balance of emotions that really helped this series achieve what it has. There were a few things that got shoved to the side (Cz ;-;) but the general story line stayed true to the end and provided a fairly interesting conclusion.
All in all, I think it was the characters that really interested me the most. A pity the dragoons and Cz didnt get more development, but ah well.
I bought the entire series on sale for something like 40 bucks, so I would have to say I appreciated the value and will most probably watch it again one of these days.
Recommended.

| I'll preface this by saying Scrapped Princess is my favorite anime of all time. Why?
In my opinion the plot is the greatest I've seen yet. It builds up and magnifies in scope and does not let up until the end while resolving beautifully. The characters seem real, with all the emotion and conflict that exist between people.
It is also self contained. Some anime you need to read the manga or watch another movie to get the whole story. With the 24 brisk episodes this series tells a story from beginning to end with style and whimsical design. It's truly a masterpiece.

| This is one of my favorite anime of all-time.
I don't typically go for fantasy anime anymore, especially when it involves magic and swords, even moreso when it seems like an RPG... I'd rather just stick with my video games and have that be it. However, I felt a special something when I saw the trailer for this back in 2003. And despite my initial impressions of the music for the opening sequence, I must say I was thoroughly impressed all-around. Definitely a gem in the anime industry.
It may seem a bit slow at first, but it really isn't. Trust me. I think the pacing fits the series quite well, and it's utitlized better than any other anime I've seen lately. The animation is polished and flawless, as are the character designs (many bishie and bishoujo)... with the exception of some girls REALLY needing these contraptions known as bras... this does not affect any of their personalities, though. And thankfully, for what may be the first time in an anime, there aren't any girls [or guys] running around clueless. All of the characters have deep insights on their world's current events and it's truly inspiring to see that every character in an anime could have more than one side.
The story really affected me on an emotional level. That sounds so trite, but it's the truth. I can't tell you how many times I actually cried while watching it. Or honestly laughed. Or smiled. It really unfolds with quite a lot of surprises (and a few of those you-know-what's-coming-but-try-to-deny-anyway moments), and kept me interested far more than I thought it ever would. Pacifica is among one of the greatest heroines in an anime to date. She is constantly mature and never forgets the seriousness of the situation she, and her family/friends, are in. This is really one for the dramatic fans, and deserves a place amongst the classics.

| Scrapped Princess is a nice 26 episode long mixture of light hearted comedy and drama with a surprisingly good storyline and an excellent cast of characters.
The graphics and animation of Scrapped Princess is nothing new. There are very few graphic inconsistencies and animation is mostly smooth. However, nothing graphically impressive appears either.
The theme songs and music of Scrapped Princess are also not overly impressive - I do not feel any urge to get the OST of this anime after watching it. That said, the voice overs in Scrapped Princess are extremely good. The voices of the characters really make the characters fit in with the mood of the scene just right, which in turn makes the entire scene much more believable and interesting to watch.
The storyline of Scrapped Princess is what astounded me the most. It was a storyline containing so many twists and turns that would turn into a total disaster if not handled and explained well enough. Scrapped Princess more than just accomplished that task - it accomplished it in an entertaining and amusing way. The anime contains a just-right mixture of drama and light comedy, and the ending of Scrapped Princess is also better than expected. Overall, Scrapped Princess is quite an accomplishment in terms of storyline, if nothing else.
The characters is the other thing that impressed me very much about this anime. The character development is excellent given the large number of characters introduced. Most of them, even if they only appear for a short period, are well explained and convincing. The excellent voice acting also gives the characters an additional third dimension.
An impressive storyline presented by an excellent cast of characters made Scrapped Princess very fun to watch for me. Although the quality of the animation and sounds could have been improved, Scrapped Princess is still a top quality anime and I would recommend it to all anime viewers.

| This is a good well-rounded anime in terms of animation, sound, pace and the flow of events.
This anime gives a lazy countryside feel most of the time due to its choice of music, setting and pacing. However, this feeling tended more towards serenity than boredom.
Along the way, the group encounter some new foes or friends which causes the group to further examine their motivation of protecting the princess. However, what makes the story interesting thereafter is the unfolding of the actual background the current situation is impinged upon. This part is along the line of being associated to something long before the character's birth.
Though not in a very spectacular manner, this is the only anime that features the legendary assassin backstab skill in one of the episode!

| Scrapped Princess is easily one of my all-time favourite anime series.
Excellent animation and music, an incredible cast of deep and interesting characters (although they don't really develop much, but hey, how much did YOU "develop" in the past two months? :-P) and one of the best storylines ever makes this a series you shouldn't miss.
If I was a hideous mutant, I'd give this series three thumbs up.

| I honestly wasn’t too sure if I was going to like this series based on the introduction alone, I didn’t think it would keep my interest. I was very wrong in that assumption. This story provides a perfect balance between story and character development. There is some light comedy, a fair amount of action and lots of story telling and character development. This series has a little something for everyone, but this is mostly for those people who really enjoy action/adventure stories. Click below for details.
