| When it starts off, you give it a chance to grow on you. Perhaps you even think it does. But I never really found this anime to be that great. I like the characters and tough the main characters were good (Gash and Kiyomaru), but they themselves did not save this anime.
Tons of fillers and length ruined this anime. I think this would be a great 26 episode anime. Condense whatever is in the whole series to 26, and my rating owuld be better. I only got up to episode 37 so far, and am contemplating about continuing it.

| When I first saw Zatch Bell, I thought that it would end up like another boring show like Pokemon, with no decent characters, pathetic music, cheap animation and a shallow plot. Well, that is exactly what I did think of the show at first, because I watched an episode that was just too shallow to be praised- I couldn’t help thinking that all these other reviewers must be crazy to rate it so high. I just thought the show was really bad in every way. But as I saw more episodes though, the message began to sink in and I began to see just what everyone else here was talking about!
Boy, my first impression of this show was entirely wrong! Zatch Bell is actually quite a unique kids show- yes it does have a shallow plot- but it does have a lot of things other kids shows don’t have. Although it’s by no means perfect; I don’t really think it can become one of the Top 150, because of how long the show is. But, I have to say this is easily the most watchable anime show aimed at younger audiences ever!

| This anime has a lot more depth and value compared to other shows in similar styles. It has a simple storyline, good sound and sometimes whacky but expressive animation which I enjoyed. Strongest points are the interesting and well-rounded main characters (Gash and Kiyomaru), as well as a wide range of emotional content. The humour is absolutely top-notch and is complimented by touching heart-felt moments. This show will definetly appeal to the majority of anime fans as it contains many universaly enjoyable elements.

| IMO this is a very meediocre or even below that aniem but apparently its quite popular among the people who have reviewed it before me and i respect that so please respect my review as well. I think the one of the larger reasons why i disliked this anime would be becase its pretty childish and looks to me as to aim towards a young viewing age and that doesnt fit my age group at all.

| What a pleasent surprise this was. This anime is actually very funny, and I had nearly put it into my list of male action drama craps, but I sure am glad I didn't. I really do like this anime, it's light hearted, hilarious, and has very memorable characters. The animation movements can be compared to something like Yu Gi Oh, but the animation is not the purpouse of this anime. If you want an anime that will have you either rolling on the floor or holding your sides laughing, watch Zatch.
The animation was the only fault in Gash. It's just okay, definitly not the best I've seen in kid's shows.
This anime is very very funny and I give it an A+.

| I personally have no interest in animes aimed toward younger audiences. And for that reason I was never willing to give this show a chance. A friend whose opinion I trust said she really enjoyed it, and that convinced me to give it a try.
The similarities to Pokemon are present no doubt. And its clear this anime tries to appeal to a younger audience. But it deals with many topics that are universal to younger and mature audiences, namely issues such as friendship, trust, being anti social, and understanding other people.
Tied into this is a very unique premise for all the action, involving demons, magic, spell books, and cool special affects.
The execution is really well done in this Anime and it probably deserves to be higher on the list.

| Stylized chibi monsters that have lot of personality and tactical abilities, the combats and the conflicts are very engaging and gratifying. The Kiyomaro becomes the character with the most character development and he becomes the reason that Gash is still in the contest for the ruler of the demon world.

| At its essence, this is a kids show like pokemon, but the episodes are much more creative and dramatic than pokemon could ever hope to be. You might even shed a tear at some of the episodes. This anime also has some of the funniest moments I've seen.

| 100 demon kids are sent to our world from the demon world to fight among themselves. The winner will be the king of the Demons.
In order to fight each kid has a book. But the book alone is useless.
They have to find among humans a man (woman) that can read their own book.
Each book contains spells. The man reads the speel and the demon materially executes it.
When a book is burnt the demon kid is defeated and He vanishes to the demon world.
Gash is a gentle demon kid who lost his memories.He enters the life of a clever and lonely student, Kiyomaro Takamine, and changes him. Then they begin to use the book and to learn about it and Gash's past.
The best point of this anime is that is very very funny. Even if this anime is likely targetted to children I find amusing how Gash messes with Kiyomaro's life and how Kiyomaro reacts to Gash's and other characters' ideas and actions.
I have to mention the super funny italian actor/singer Parco Folgore. Only seeing him makes me laugh.
This anime is after all about fights and there are some good battle scenes. Sometimes the atmosphere changes dramatically from hylarious moments to tense and even dramatic scenes.
If you want to laugh and to see good action too, then I recommend it.

| What can i say the story in this anime i thought was going to be one of those recycled trainer/monster type animes you see out there boy was i wrong this anime has so much more comedy that made me laugh so hard i literaly fell off my chair. Some of the scenes are so sad that they actually made me cry. Not to mention the story which starts out a little bland but by ep 10 or so starts to pull you in. All in all one of the funniest , most hart warming anime ive seen in a while and deserves to be in the top 100.

| An underlooked anime thats quite good!
Battles are quite good, with good movements and hits [Mostly attacks with their powers]
Characters are mostly interesting and fun, Main character is smart and directs Gash's combat [except a couple semi minor ones]
Good mixture of humour and action while exploring gash's powers and predicament.
Even though it might look pretty childish and silly, it does get serious at times [besides dont judge by looks -> narutaru]
The general story is somewhat so-so[defeat all 100 demons to win], but the individual stories between the characters are decent.
You will probably be able to make a definate decision on this anime after approximately 6 episodes
Please, dont overlook this show, its quite good

| Using a slew of interesting characters, and a couple that are actually unique, another anime of duels is presented. Its not pocket monsters or card games this time, but puppet-like demons with elemental powers.
Konjiki no Gash Bell is a kids show at heart, but it manages to capture my attention for that brief twenty minutes. I'm not very far into the series, but I'm a bit surprised to find myself still curious about what each new episode will bring.
Unfortunetly, while both the animation and soundtrack are well-done, neither is exceptional or outstanding. They don't have traits that I'm willing to pick out and praise above another series.

| Fun and entertaining. I didn't download this anime (because it looks like another type of one on one battle anime) until someone recommended it in forum.
The story started when Kiyomaro's father found a badly injured Gash in a forest in England. To repay the father's kindness, Gash flew to Japan to look after Kiyomaro. And boy, did Gash change Kiyomaro's life.
Gash got to be the most kawaii boy ever! He is just so cute! :> Even you read the manga, you can still watch the anime, because in some ways, the anime is better (and in other, the manga is better).
Animation: The animation is not consistent. There are too many recaps... Hell there's even 3 same recaps in a episode!! I have lost count how many koruru recaps there are.. makes me feel like screaming. That is the 1 of only 2 grips I have about the show.
All the characters, except one, is well thought out.

| the basic story is isn't very original, what with a demon/human pair dueling with other demon/human pairs for reign over the big prize (in this case- the throne of the demon world). but it's the great voice acting, wierd animation and the heart of the anime that really makes it different from the others. And it helps that it's absolutely hilarious at times. i.e. how Gash and Takamine meet for the first time. it's definitely worth a watch.

| At first, I thought this was some random anime with no plot that tries to be like pokemon. But No! This is one helluva good ride that keeps getting me tuned in with slick animation, sweet character designs, and a very decent plot. Highly recommended.
This should be on the top 100 list. This anime takes a pokemon like plot, and turns it into a very addicting and funny anime. Why only 32 reviews? This is a real gem of an anime.

| The story of Gash Bell isn't very original (a fight to become the king of the demon world... ) But the animation and sounds are very good for this type of anime (especially Scab, the opening theme)
For me, it's not just a Pokemon-like, there is something different in this anime (maybe the characters.
If you like Action-humour anime, you can pick this one

| Hmmm, it was good.. I don't see how it reminded people of Shaman King though. Well maybe, but naw..
Anyway, the animation was decent, humor was OK (it wasn't like I cracked out laughing and couldn't stop or anything - humor like Hanada Shounen Shi), I agree that op/ed was good (didn't pay much attention to sound during the series though), and I think I'll keep watching this. Looks promising.
