| I feel bad for giving this show such a low score. I enjoyed it, and liked every show. The problem was that much was lacking in almost every department. This show is definitely one of those shows that you should watch only a few at a time in between really good shows, just for a light hearted break. I would say to at least watch it once, it deserves a good solid peek at least. Onto the review.

| E's Otherwise first started out with an interesting story that made me to keep watching. Basically Kai in my opinion is fighting for the sake of his sister's future.
As the story develops Kai wants to find out his purpose or what he must do after an incident with a mission. After the mission he lives and works at a resident house with Yuki. Yeah it gets interesting as he searches for his purpose. However towards the end while looking for it the story falls apart.
The ending was just horrible, awful, yuck. It just completely jumped so far ahead that there were many questions to be answered. The ending also reminded me of matrix. So basically you think there will be another season, wrong. It just leaves you there thinking uh what happened?
Well for character wise I will say it was good. Gave each character good personalities. Well only on the good side. For the antagonist or the evil ones. I have to say their character development and personalities was just not really balanced out.
Yeah i quite enjoyed this anime until the last episode.

| E's Otherwise is most definitely one of the many thousands of animes that's just there to be.....there. I've started calling these types of shows “fast food” animes. Animes churned out by these big production companies out more for capital gain with no regard for product integrity. E's Otherwise is a series that really makes no sense and you'll almost, right from the get-go, need to modify your outlook [....and lower your expectations] on this show or you'll switch it off. If you are going to watch this show, you can't take it too seriously....even when the show itself is asking you to take it seriously, you can't and shouldn't cuz you'd be better off not doing so.

| E's Otherwise is an underappreciated series. While I originally thought this would be nothing special based on the reviews, I was surprisingly proven wrong.

| E's Otherwise is a decent anime with a lot of fun moments and appealing charaters. The action is pretty good, but sometimes I feel like there should been some more. The opening and ending theme are very nice. The story is very entertaining and fun sometimes, but it can also be confusing; why was Kai in that bathtub thing in the first episode?, what was the deal with that gory scene in episode 14? and what happens to Kai and Eji at the end? Maybe by reading the manga that should be coming soon, I might get those questions answered. But please don't let those things I said stop you from watching this fun anime. And in a way, the ending is kind of similar to Final Fantasy 7 ending, maybe there'll be a sequel later someday, who knows?

| If it hadn't have been for the naff ending I would be rating this all 9's & 10's. It's such a shame really, as E'S Otherwise has a very good premise, very interesting characters and overall a very interesting storyline, but there are too many plotholes and a really bad cop-out ending. Actually it's not a cop-out, it just doesn't exist and like with Spiral, I'm not sure how often I would want to watch this knowing how iffy the ending is.
Honestly though, I don't want everyone to be put off of this, because it is actually a very good anime and if you can overlook the ending, it is worth watching at least once ^__^

| Title: E's Otherwise
Kai Kudo is a powerful psychic. People would describe him as an Esper or E, though he doesn't seem to know it. Following his sister Hikaru who is gravely ill to an organization called Ashurum that promises to make her well, Kai is recruited by Eiji into another branch of Ashurum called Aeses where he undergoes exstensive military and psychic training.
A year later, on a mission out to stop a gorilla army in Gald City from using psychics, Kai and another Aeses student, Shenron Belvedere, fight each other and Kai ends up hurt. He washes up ashore outside Gald City and is rescued by Asuka and her brother Yuki.
Once awake, Kai decides to view Ashurum from the outside to see what is really going on.
E's Otherwise is really good and I enjoyed watching this series. It follows Kai's life as he discovers who he is, and how strong he can be psychic-wise. There are side plots that offer intrigue that also seem to have something to do with Kai.
It's a series I highly recommend you watch if you are interested in characters that can use their minds to levitate things, that can appear and disappear at will, if you do like this stuff, you won't be disappointed.

| Well E's Otherwise has a good start and good ideas (ESPers with super powers, great corporation controlling them, political and sociological issues) in the first episodes. Although many criticize the filler episodes, I think some of them (not all), make the plot go a little bit further. The characters are all developed except Asuka that in the last episodes is completly forgotten to reappear briefly in the last episode and in the very end with Kai's little sister, Hikaru.
So the question is : Does the initial planning of the series was to make it longer and in the middle of it they saw that the funding was insuficient ?(very unlikely considering it is a Square-Enix production) or they wanted to do something different and they couldn't compressing the series and rushing the end ?
Another interesting thing that raises a lot of questions is the strange ending. What was or better who is that strange guy who wears the wig ? What is the past of Kai Kudou ? What is his relationship with her sister Hikaru or the flirting with Asuka ?
Well guess this questions will never be answered :P

| The animation is really good. It is beautifully drawn, so is the fighting scences too. The sounds is alright. There are not annoying character's voices. The openning and closing songs are not really catchy, but they are not bad neither, so it like a normal one.
The story is pretty good in the beggining. However, they started to rush stuff towards the end, so the ending is really bad because everything is compresse into a 26 mins episode. I was expecting a better endking in what happened to some people.
The characters are pretty well developed except for Asuka. She should know she is an Esper, but yet she pretends that she is not. This makes her seem weaker than she is. I think i would like it better if they made her stronger and at the same time keep her gentle side. Other than that, I really like all the characters even the bad guys. But I think the character that plays Sherry needs a little more development because you don't know why he is dressed like a girl, and there isn't much detailed, but shows him at the end when he takes out his wig.
Overall, the value of the anime is alright, but i don't think people will want to buy it because it doesn't have an ending or the ending is really weak. However, i did enjoyed watchig the anime at the beginning, except it would have been better if there was one more episode that will give a better summary of what happened at the end.

| Animation: The drawing and character designs are very nice, luff it <33
sound- music is nice, no comment really
story- a very uniqe story about magical powers, I like it.
Characters- no comment ^_^
Enjoyment- This anime is ok, I wouldn't say it's the best anime ever. There are a couple of laughs, but they do it quite badly. The romantical parts are done nicely. But this show is kinda boring, not much jumpy action scenes that I like.

| E's Otherwise tries to be an action anime with a deep message and moral questioning of Right or Wrong.
Should he attack innocent people for the sake of his sister?
I find that there is too much emotional angst in this anime to really enjoy it in a laid back manner. it sees everybody has a problem with everybody, especially that Sheng Long guy. The fights also seem to random and a lot of the actions really seem so baseless and confused (well that's how the character is.. but that's so annoying because he's the same throughout)
It kind of reminds me of X-men with too much emotional burdens on everyone. Not really that great of an anime as a whole because it wavers so much between conflicts and fights, but an interesting watch in terms of how these conflicts resolve. But if you don't like emotional BS flying around shallow characters with no aim, dont watch this, lol.

| Ah, where to begin. Friend recommended this to me, and I believed him. Of course, he never actually FINISHED it...
The first four or so episodes, as others have stated, are fairly interesting. You meet a nice sized group of people, all of them who you hope to meet ... but in the fourth episode the main character (Kai) gets sent on a mission and you don't hear from the other characters until 10 episodes later. Instead you get to deal with the relationship of Kai with a girl. Who has a crush on him. And is obviously much younger. I'm not sure to file this under "kiddy love" or "pedolphilia", and I'm not going to bother.
The anime goes downhill from here. You meet about four people from episode four to episode twenty who actually matter. And then most of them die. But the thing that annoyed me the MOST about this anime was the ending. Kai is a man without a past, and in the end they allude to his past, by saying "Well he's the son of Kei Kudo" and a person gasps at hearing this... *dun dun dun* But we still have no idea who Kei Kudo is at the end of the anime. To further compound this, one purple haired girl pulls off her purple hair (It's a wig!) in the last 5 minutes of this anime... what's the significance? WHO KNOWS! IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER.
Put simply, good premise, bad execution, bad story, degenerates into a pile of nothing.

| E's starts out looking like one of your typical annoying kid doesn't like hurting people has no real power winds up screwing up majorly because of this and cries about it for the rest of the series, but then, it got better.
I honestly think probably the ONLY character in this series except Shenlong that had any growth was Kai. Kai starts out being pretty much dependant on Eiji to tell him what to do and make sure that what he does is right.
I agree that Asuka was probably my least favorite character, there was just something helpless/clingy about her that didn't really fit at all.
Honestly the filler episodes were some of my favorite, that red dress still makes me laugh thinking back on it.
But the main problem is the fact that it seems like the creators thought they were going for a long running series that just didn't happen. With a little more thought this could have been great, but the ending had that thrown together at the last minute feel to it and really did answer nothing but just create more questions.
It honestly wouldn't be that bad if there weren't so many questions that NEEDED to be answered.
I'm not counting on a second series, but I am hoping that the manga will turn out better.
It'd probably be good if you watched the anime and read the manga, because the anime is worth at least that much.
I rated it as high as I did simply because BEFORE the ending, I watched every single episode the moment it was released fansubbed, and some even before that.

| This anime had about 12 filler episodes and then a bunch of tiptoeing around what was going on only to not explain anything at then end. With the amount of time this show spends asking the same questions over and over again it could have at least answered one of them by the end. The animation is nice but nothing spectacular. The sound is unmemorable. The story has way too much filler and drags when it does finally get to the real plotline. The characters are mostly annoying. I did not like Kai, he was really annoying and whiny. I thought shenlong had potential but he barely gets any time so this anime can focus on boring people like Asuka or the girl with fire ability(can't think of her name) or Kai's regular human partner. The first 4 episodes are good and if the show had continued in that vein it could have been great but instead they have a bunch of stupid filler episodes that do nothing to advance the plot then a bunch of dancing around the point and all these supposed secrets about Kai and Hikaru which never get answered.

| After i watched the first episode it felt familiar... then i was like, o yea its just like X-Men. The guy comes into an academy where everybody has special powers and are against the people that dont have special powers, well soemthing liek that. I thought this anime was going to be really cool, i liked the first couple of episodes because there seemed to be great character potential in it. But like on episode 4 about, all the characters you were just introduced to and had high hopes for, just pretty much vanished, and they dont really come back in the anime till like 15 episodes later. Its like WTF, but other than the bad character develepopment, the other characters that came in were pretty cool. It was enjoyaable but i wouldnt watch this series again. Not really any comedy in it, except for a few times. I thought the battles would be really cool, but then i was like "where the hell are the battles" there were some battles that were average, and only like 2 of then got my attention. The ending sucked tho. I really had high hopes for this one, but I just watched it because i thought it would develop better but it just stayed average the whole time. But this anime is worth checking out.

| This anime is kind of like Kiddy Grade, which is again using espers or enhanced humans as a center for development. And again, different esper has different powers, and different espers in the same team doesn't mean they like each other. Conflict in the same team is observed all the time.
The overall story is OK. The thing that I hate the most is the "job of the week." Some of them do have some character developments and should not be missed, the "job of the week" episodes is just too long and makes the whole series boring as hell.
The potential of this series is shown in the early part of this series, but because the long and boring pointless episodes, a good potential goes down hill, and it goes back up again at later episodes.
Overall, it is an OK series. Good for action fans, or you can try it for curiousity.

| E's Otherwise is dull and boring. I can't believe I actually finish watching it, but I guess I had high hopes for it initially. The only interesting character in this anime is Chris. If anyone wants a similar type anime where people with special abilities work in an organization under a higher class of people, watch Scryed instead.

| In my opinion, e's otherwise was a show that had so much potential to be a great anime series, but in the end, it just seemed rushed and ended up as something dull. The show started so many intriguing ways for the plot to develop, such as the mystery concerning the sacrament of callivario and Kai's actual past... but these were so poorly explored and ambigious.
I didn't think the characters were anything great. There really wasn't any character development whatsoever. All of the characters are so linear and deviate very little from their character designs once they're established.
I just didn't really enjoy this anime as much as I wanted to and I pretty much had to force myself to watch every episode.
Although, I did find the fight scenes very entertaining and I did enjoy the music.
To me, e's otherwise seemed to just collapse in the end and I felt the show was lacking. Watch it if you think its interesting.

| E's Otherwise, another anime with plenty of untapped potential. E's would have been (could have been, should have been) an awesome anime had the story writers decided not to take a middle path and turn the entire anime to a bland, mediocre show.
I guess another reason has to be the opening. The opening has plenty of cool looking fights, cool flying scenes, and (cool poses, sort of), while riddled with religious references and symbolism. So while watching the entire series, I was eagerly waiting for cool fights, cool flying scenes, and some sort of deep religious symbolism to work the mind. And my waiting was all in vain. The fights were average, nothing big, the story dragged, and I guess the only symbolism in the entire series was left in the opening. The dragging is quite stupid IMO because the ending ended up being overly rushed, most likely as a result of all the earlier dragging (talk about being unable to time things correctly). Also, as with many other reviews, E's turns out to end with more questions than answers. A second season would do this series wonders unless a second season disappoints too.
Overall, I would say E's Otherwise is worth a watch because it wasn't all bad. There were a couple funny scenes in the filler episodes, and the overall concept is interesting, though not all that original. I suppose if you keep low expectations, E's Otherwise would be a pretty good anime. But as I mentioned earlier, it had lots of untapped potential that kept it from being awesome.

| Watched the entire thing in one day so here goes. This is an okay series. I probably would have liked it better if I had watched over a course of a week or something. But to me, atleast 10 of the episodes were nothing but a giant filler. The main character's ideals were similar to Vash's except he had no idea for an alternative lifestyle, he just knew that he didn't want to hurt anyone. A lot of it seemed like a waste. The characters were interesting, but you really only get to know maybe the main 3 characters really well. The ending was a dissapointment because it didn't answer a lot of the questions, and then went out of its way to make up some new questions that needed answering. But, if you want action, go ahead and skip to end. The last episode is pimp in action. Overall, it has its moments, given they are few and far between. Its something to help pass the time. And whatever you do, don't go on a 11 hour E's otherwise binge.
