| I think the one thing critics of this anime seemed to have overlooked is the fact this is purely an animated snippet of the original Bishoujo manga, released as an OVA in Japan, purely for the avid male fans of the original creators work!
It was never meant to be a fully fledged series and of course fans of the manga would know who the girls are, where they came from and it would give indepth details into why Kazuya accepts them all into his home without question.
OK, so how does it stand as an anime without being privvy to any of this insider knowledge? not quite as bad as most of the other reviews here would have you believe!! Honestly I found it to be totally inane, very funny, slightly rude (I have seen far more ecchi ecchi anime than this!!) and overall, yes! it stinks a bit, but it really isn't a total waste of time! The girls are cute, albeit a little moe and insipid, Kazuya is quite cute and definitely not your average harem anime geek and I laughed a lot!
It isn't a crime to watch or enjoy an ecchi anime and while there are better out there, it's only 1 1/2 hours and well worth the time ^__^

| Even from the first minute of watching Guardian Hearts, I realized that it was a big mistake, and there are many reasons why I have come to this inevitable conclusion.
Story:
Oh please, heck, someone save me from my misery. Guardian Hearts cannot even be considered as HAVING a storyline because there is nothing but bull throughout the whole thing. There's NO structure, NO plot or twists, NO development.
Characters:
Two dimensional idiots that walk around like moronic pieces of colored paper. There is nothing to commend about Guardian Hearts AT ALL, least of all those damn horny females. It's an atypical harem anime, which stands out for the fact that the females are unattractive and even ugly. In addition, pedophilic sensations start creeping up your spine when you realize the horniest of them all is actually a short KID.
Sound and Animation:
These categories are quite unimportant because Guardian Hearts is absolutely TOO HORRENDOUS in all other fields to even give a chance for sound and animation to influence anyone's view on how dispicable it is. Moreover, nothing is memorable about the sound or animation. Voice-acting was done with creepy and shrill female voices throughout and the one guy who appears is nothing but...another piece of paper. Animation doubtlessly cannot get very far when the characters are only evident tools that have no emotions of their own (therefore their actions are restrained and the quality of the whole thing is hindered).
Enjoyment? Haha give me a break!

| Worst. Anime. Ever.
Like people have said, it is just plain stupid. I can't begin to fathom how pointless this is and how much of a time waste it was.
I didn't understand what was going on. All I knew was that the main character has to protect the earth and she falls in love with the main guy. There was no reason for any of the other characters to be there. The girls just didn't fit in well and that cat thing...oh God that cat thing has got to be my most hated character ever. It's cynical, arrogant, ugly and has no motives for what it does.
The animation is poor, but is not the worst I've seen (I'm being generous). The music was offensive to my ears and didn't live in my memory at all.
At the beginning the main girl falls into some water and is "saved" by the gormless main guy. She declares that she will live with him and then I began to lose track of what was going on. Here follows my thought processes whilst watching. "Hmm, okay, there's something about finding the identity of Guardian Hearts...oh, now the main guy is ill...something about a birthday cake...they go to a hot spring...declaring she loves him and he helps her save the world. The end. The main girl is stupid and the main guy is the most gormless moron I have ever seen. It was just an excuse to get some shots of bare breasts and panties. The main girl seems quite young, and this worried me a bit. This should be catergorised as hentai. At least every few minutes there was a panties shot or bare breasts. Don't get me wrong, I like watching ecchi, but only when it's funny and used in context.
I only watched this to the end because I knew if I gave in, it would win. I fought through the crap until the end. I feel like punishing myself for watching this.
For your own sanity, I implore you to not watch this. Seriously, don't even think about it.

| Basiert diese OVA jetzt eigentlich auf einem Game oder nicht? Na ja ist auch völlig egal, denn das würde auch nichts daran ändern das man es bei Guardian Hearts mit einem Anime zu tun kriegt der das Gehirn zwar kein Quäntchen beansprucht aber es dennoch arg in Mitleidenschaft zieht. Ich habe schon viele wirklich miese OVAs gesehen aber schlimmer geht’s halt immer und Guardian Hearts ist wohl mit Abstand die nervigste, dümmste und billigste OVA die mir in den letzten Monaten untergekommen ist. Angesichts der Blödheit der Charaktere wird man schon nach kürzester Zeit den Tränen nahe sein, bis einem dann der überaus plumpe Fanservice und die schwache Comedy letztendlich den Rest geben. In dieser OVA steckt von Anfang bis Ende absolut NULL Originalität und die 6 Episoden sind nichts als ein einziger Batzen zusammengeklaubter Klischees. Vom durchschnittlichen männlichen Harem-Hero in den ein Rudel Mädchen verschossen ist, das selbstverständlich mit ihm unter ein und demselben Dach wohnt, bis hin zum Magical Girl das nebenbei die Welt rettet, geben sich hier die ausgelutschtesten Bausteine typischer Harem-Ecchi-Comedies die Klinke in die Hand. Eine “Heiße Quellen-Episode“ hier, eine “Typ ist krank und alle Mädchen wollen ihn gesund pflegen-Episode“ da, zwischendrin kämpft die nervige Protagonistin mit irgendwelchen peinlichen Monstern und natürlich dürfen viele Zwiste unter den Mädels die um die Gunst des Kerls werben nicht fehlen. Das es keine Story im eigentlichen Sinne gibt dürfte daraus wohl schon ersichtlich sein, nur albernes Rumgehampel der blöden Tussis inklusive wackelnder Brüste und P-Shots am Fließband. Guardian Hearts ist einfach nur peinlicher Trash der untersten Schublade den kein Mensch braucht und sollte tunlichst ignoriert werden, es sei denn man ist darauf aus sein Gehirn von diesem Dreck zu Brei zerstampfen zu lassen.

| Im not sure how many times i have watched the first episode now but this series is good <(^.^)>.
Animation. Clean looking characters, active & imaginative animation. The action certainly isnt boring. The girls are well drawn & look good. (7 it has quite a few let downs, far from completly polished & sometimes it is a bit TOO fast, far too fast).
Sound, good theme tunes, some of the BGM might get reppetitive & i can see somepeople not adoring one of the voices in this (due to preference), another voice might appear abit dull here & there, you will like one though, i promise. (7).
Story, the storys isnt too complex, its here, & its comical. Its quite hyper & over the place. But dont let that bother you. The jokes are mostly good & its quite a funny series. (8 it lacks a bit).
Character. the characters seem overly stereotypical & yet again your going to hate one, none are expecially lovable but if your enjoying this series you will pick up a favorite & be wanting to see her panties. (6 underdeveloped or maby one-dimensional, slightly boring, too many? possibly annoying).
Value, its funny. but its not for females. the action sequences are quite breathtaking but towards the end they get a bit lazy & lack much new. Very hyper, i would say a abit like excel saga but its completly different (in a good way aswell! dont worry!) & has all the energy (maby even more!).
(8, I want to give it 10 as a great representation of an anime Genre (mindless violence, bouncing boobies! cute girls, & nausia causing speed). but i cant ignore its not everyones thing (nothing is however...) & its very off-putting to the ladies).
Enjoyment, this anime took me no effort to finish & nearly all of it was edge-of-seat exciting, entertaining stuff! (except a few seconds).(think Godanner without mechs... Or was there a mech? i cant remember because sooo much happens).
Anyway... Watch it!... Enjoy it! you should.

| These OVAs were not enjoyable at all. They were the most painful torture I've ever had to endure. Guardian Hearts is the kind of garbage that makes me ashamed to be a Japanophile. Usually I don't mind etchi, but this was just degrading.

| Just to say from scratch that I really like thise series, I found it ludicrously cute and insanely funny.
When I first heard of this (I saw one pic of the Hina dinogirl that appaears for the commercials) I instantly was drawn in by it's cute factor. I was very surprised by the level of ecchiness and fanservice in this show but such things don't bother me, in fact I think it probably helped me enjoy it a little more.
There were, however, two things that bothered me. One was the shortness of the overall show and the other was the lack of character depth. They can do so much more with all those cute girls I'd like to see a little more story and/or character background/development for Daisy (she was fecking ace!) and that bird girl (Powawa?) she just hangs around as a bird most of the time and then turns human every now and then.
I hope there is a second series in the works, I for one would look forward to it.

| It's difficult to review this without swearing, but I'll try...
I don't know why I bothered to watch until the end. To sum up, this anime is about: ecchi, even more ecchi and a tad of cuteness.
If you like that (or are a fan from the manga), try it. If you aren't, run away from it!
Comedy, story and romance are very lame. I mean very very lame, to the point that they're non-existent! Characters are the true meaning of "cliche". And the animation is SO bad that there are parts when you'll be wondering what's going on. Don't worry though, because the plot is so simple that you'll understand it right away. Despite the bad animation, girls are well drawed, so you can easily spot panty shoots (don't worry, there are lots of zooms and camera pans so that you won't miss'em!)
In a word: pitiful.
With more words: the WORST I have ever watched (and I'm not joking!).

| Funny and loaded with fanservice. It's a fanservice show, anyway, what did you expect?
Not much besides that, really. This has absolutely nuts in the story and character department. Just a bunch of cute girls and empty amusement is all.
I'd expect even fanservice shows to have some excuse for a premise or a story of some sort, but this one falls short of that.
Good for a quick break and a quick laugh, but not much else.

| I'm going to say this is the worst anime I've ever seen, and hopefully I will remain correct, because it's horrible. Less than no plot, no intros for characters other than cheap boob and panty shots, and no comedy (unless cheap boob and panty shots count as comedy now, too). Just a lame attempt to get loser guys excited. Should have made it hentai...at least then it would have something interesting going on.

| I dont understand people who watch ecchi and then complain because of the nudity. Its like going into a topless bar and complaining because there are half naked women present.
The animation quality in the Opening is superb and In my opinion it looks good and smooth throughout the show.
Then again this is an OVA which usually have higher quality.
I love the OP and music in the show.
I knew 5 minutes into the first episode I was going to like this show. The comedy is funny and a little off the wall and often of a sexual nature. Like in the first five minutes when Hina meets Kazuya. There are also in my opinion very touching episodes like Chelsea's birthday.
I really liked the characters. It wasnt til ep 3-4 that you get more insight to Maya and Chelsea but the episodes were very good.
If you like Popotan, Ikkitousen, Green Green, I suggest you give it a shot. In my opinion this show is too short.
If you want mind bending stories, body parts flying, and mecha this aint it. If you want to watch a cute show that will make you laugh and has some likeable and charming characters then you might like it.
If you dont like the show thats fine but its stupid to knock ecchi for having nudity. Thats why its called ecchi.

| Animation is decent for the MOST part, sound isn't much noticable, story is HORRIBLE, there is no story, the character development is craptacular, I wouldn't give this anime another chance, not in a lifetime. This is one of the worst animes I have EVER seen. Basically some guy catches a glimpse of a girl naked and WHOA she asks to live with him. Lame lame lame. No story, they should have just made it a hentai and saved me the trouble of downloading it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not gay, Ecchi doesn't bother me but this is just a waste of time. It's mindless. If this is your thing, FINE, but I wouldn't reccomend it to ANYONE. And I'm being really nice about it, my reviews are always fair. I'm not dumb enough to give an anime all 1s.

| What can I say.... A ton of underwear and nude shots... A lot of "jiggle factor" shots as well....
Story is pretty shallow and at some areas heavily stretched. Whole OVA is centered around several girls from different origins chasing one guy that they all live with.
Overall if you look for some goofy anime involving a lot of "boob" shots, then this will suit you well.... It's not bad anime and works best if watched in between your regular series with heavy plots.
