Well, I've done it again.

3rd anime that I've looked at many times, avoided completely when there was nothing else to watch, and then, finally when I watch it, it's one of the best anime I've seen.

Now, any anime that makes you laugh, yet you don't realize you're laughing, is trully funny. This anime had me rolling on the floor, which I don't do often. I'm not in the mood for a full review as of now, so I will just say.

Animation- Clear, colorful, great.

Sound- Okay, this is just average, but the voice acting was great so I raised it.

Story- o.O

Character- Great.

Value- You want it.

Enjoyment- Oh yeah!!!

I give this a 98%, A+, great.

This is a silly, fast-paced, virtually plot-free parody of costumed-hero shows like Ultraman or "Kikaida," to whom Dokkoida bears a striking resemblance, (at least when viewed from the side). It also features dozens if not hundreds of other pop-culture, anime, and otaku-culture parody gags thrown in around the edges, together with some garden-variety slapstick, randomness, and gross-out jokes. Recommended for those who enjoyed 2x2=Shinobuden, with which this has much in common. Dokkoida is just a tiny bit less gutter-minded, however.

If you like any of the above, you will find this very likeable. It's childish, winking, and hilarious, and fairly nicely animated. The closing and inter-title sequences, which feature claymation and paper cutouts much like those used in 2x2=Shinobuden, are particularly charming visually.

It's pretty good for not-so-popular series.

The animation was fine, the brightness in series will lift the mood up when serious matters(like that ever happen lol). Voicers were fine, BGM also match hero thing well. Story might be a bit useless or pointless but still enjoyable with all the laughs and cutes young girls. The story which I thought at firrst might end up going nowhere turn out to be interesting stuff. You should watch it, I guareentee no stupid fanservices ^^ hehe

When I saw the pictures first at animenfo, I wasn't interested in it much, until someone bought and lend me the cd's...I'm glad that I watched it. Even though the animation is standard and quite childish, the story isn't, it's hillarious, full of comedy and some parody (ranging from onegai teacher, gundam, and there's even some computer hardware list like radeon 9700).
I strongly recommended it if you're looking for good comedy and enjoyable movie, and the last chapter 2 eps has a very good ending, a rarity for a short series (12 in this case).

UFO Table rocks, and you'd better believe it. Dokkoida is the ultimate parody of all sentai shows complete with the entrance music. The show sometimes borders on the ridiculous and suffers from repetition, but ultimately it's good for a few laughs. Especially if you like S&M or Lolli-girls. Just don't expect any deep plot or character development. It's a super-robot show for god's sake.

Dokkoida is lighthearted fun, never takes itself seriously just plays of a series of parodies and does this very well, the characters ar all of course stereotypical, and the story must have been done a hundred times but this is very amusing to watch and I'll recommend to you see it just for the fun, comic side of it.

My 500th Review.

I have no life.

Anyway, Dokkoida is a series in the vein of Tenchi, with a series of odd individuals (mostly female, with one male loser main-character) living together in a housing complex known as House Cosmos.

Two different companies are vying for their powered-suits to be chosen by the galactic authorities, and thus decide to use Tokyo as a testing ground, and two hapless, unemployed locals as test pilots. Various A-Class villains are sent to Tokyo to provide the sujects which they must defend against. Whilst their not testing, they're all living in House Cosmos, incognito, and getting along famously without most of them realising just who they all are.

This leads to a succesion of one-off episodes in which not a lot happens (although the episode with the android's dream has a kind of emotional resonance) but for the most part you know what to expect.

Dokkoida is one of those endless cannon-fodder shows that disappears into the memory, but somehow manages to entertain on a very basic level. Even the all-too-serious conclusion (which isn't, as it provides very little resolution) doesn't rise above the level of expected banality.

But, somehow, its all too hard to actually hate with a passion. The show is trying too hard to be nice and inoffensive, although the brother-sister msunderstandings between Suzuo and Tanpopo strikes shallowly within the realms of incest-lolicon squickness....

As for the characters themselves, Suzuo is your standard anime male loser (see almost every other character of this type), Tanpopo is lolicon city, Asaka is your beer-quaffing fanservice fantasy girl, Sayuri is your standard dominatrix queen, Ruri provides secondary-level lolicon, whilst Dr Maronflower is your standard dirty old man / best character of the series, along with his android....

Oh, and the Dokkoida suit itself looks like a slightly deformed and stupid-looking version of Ultraman. Although, since I've always thought of Ultraman as being somewhat stupid, I can only say that a show taking the urine has been long coming.

And they made a series of Ultraman in my home town. You don't know how disturbing it is to watch things go pear-shaped in Rundle Mall, here in Adelaide. ;)

Don't expect depth from Dokkoida, just middle of the road anime thrills.

This anime didn't quite catch my attention initially but boy am i glad i stuck with it and watchd all 12 episodes. It turned out to be a rather decent anime. It has a little bit of comedy, drama, parodies and ecchi bits for the fan boys. The many strange and lovable characters living inside makes the show interesting when you throw in the alternate personalities as villians and crime fighters. a heartwarming series that didn't deserve such slack. give it a go and see what you're missing.

I just love this Anime.

When we watched Sumeba Miyako no Cosmos-sou Suttoko Taisen Dokkoida at our Beamernight we soon decided to stop because it just seemed to be another slapstick-noonereallycares kind of show. But when I continued to watch it, I really was surprised to see an great evolution in the Story and development of all the Characters.
It's really worth to get over the low start and also see the Second part. For me this is definiterlly an beyond-average Animation witch I will enjoy a scond time with my friends.

When I first downloaded an ep of this, my first thoughts were... what the hell is with the long name and... why have I never heard of this series (nor its subber) even after the entire series was completely subbed. I wasn't expecting much, and surprisingly, I got a lot of enjoyment out of this one.

A very good parody of Japanese otaku fan culture (and probably other bits and pieces of Japanese culture itself). There are many parallels in the series that are easy to pick up (and hard to pick up for that matter) that are done in an incredibly humourous manner - although some episodes did seem out of place.

My only major disappointment is the lack of more episodes that could have developed character a bit more and explained the final plot swing (well, more like only plot swing) a tad bit more.

The characters are kinda annoying yet they are all a likable as well. The whole red blushy cheeks did get annoying fast.

One warning: this series does seem to have a huge err... lolita complex? I guess that's also part of the fanboyism paradoies... I hope.. or don't hope, now that I think about it -_-;;

Anyway, a real good sleeper series that I didn't expect to be that great at all.

A must for anyone who loves parodies like Project A-ko and Comedy (LOTS AND LOTS OF IT!) it's not laugh out loud but it's the kind of comedy you smirk, smile or feel good about comedy. It's good from start to finish. Good pace and good deal of action along with character design... not great but VERY GOOD. Highly recommended!

Very enjoyable anime. A lot so the humor involves poking fun at other anime or JP culture, so this anime is recommended for otaku.

Actually, there are plenty of episodes where I didn't laugh at all but the important thing is that the anime always feels good. It's bright, fairly fast-paced, and energetic. A fun ride.

I just wish it had been longer or had more character development.

I wasnt sure what to make of the show after the first ep but I'm glad I stuck with it because it just gets funnier and funnier. Ep 8 being the highlight for me. This show is just full of parodies and if you havent watched a lot of anime then I can see how some people wouldnt understand the humor. I'm glad this show is getting fansubbed, its a gem.

Well, I didn't know what to expect when I stumbled upon this series, as I never heard of it at all.

This show is a giant sentai parody and is pretty funny. The characters, story, and concept were enjoyable. (Unemployment ray, Sister Princess parody, his erm, suit design) Soundwise, it was average and not memorable. The animation was average.

Overall I'd say this series was above average, hillarious but nothing spectacular.

What a great surprise this anime is turning out to be! I wasn't expecting much when I first started watching it, mostly due to the lack of attention this title has recieved. But my doubts quickly faded; and now, having seen the first three episodes, I'm flat-out hooked.

The humor blends with the action very well, the animation quality is great for a TV series, the background music always fits the mood, and the opening theme is extremely catchy.

I hope this title begins gaining more popularity soon, because it certainly deserves it! Highly recommended!

lolz nappie superhero!

He certain gets my vote over any spandex gender-bender... ^^

If not for the sheer idiocy, but for the fact that I too know the feeling of succumbing to headphone-courage when my super hero anime song pops up....

1st episode review:

A smooth anime comedy packed with ideas.

Following this stage setting episode, this seems to moving to a bizarre mix of Ultraman & Maison Ikkoku.

A very promising first episode, jammed full of nice little touches (the scanner that detects the unemployed, the effect of stirring theme music...).

A charming little show, I look forward to seeing more.

Revised my score following episode 5, which was probably the most enjoyable piece of new animation I've seen this year.
