This series was pretty enjoyable. There wasn't a lot of highlights or anything worth mentioning though. I felt that it was just another typical series you can watch and enjoy.

One thing I felt disappointing was that it starts off with Nagatsuki being the cause for this story, but it drifts off in the middle almost completely ignoring her. She still has some 1 or 2 minute scenes, but I wouldn't say that she had any spotlight during that time, nor was there development on the story. It felt more like they had to throw in another character so that there would be an excuse to make another "Happy Lesson" series (I never saw the original by the way, and I doubt I will). The series wraps up at the end bringing back the cause for this story (finally), which gets solved (somehow) and everyone lives happily ever after.

I pretty much liked Nagatsuki's character out of this. She is loud, straightforward, clear, and helping. She doesn't hold her thoughts in or gives a lot of thoughts about it, but simply lets her thoughts and emotions flow out like a child. The voice for her was great too.

As already said above, simply another series you can watch and enjoy with some laughter ;D

Overall this series si an improvement to the last. Although it was nowhere near perfect it was enjoyable and very heart warming. The thing that makes this much more better is how relationships grow/bonds grow stronger with the other moms and hitose. Each mom with a very good character development. The addition of the new character, i thought was a good idea. Not just because she was my favorite character, but it made the sotry much more interesting than the first and was really a lesson about family and happiness. A very good anime. i would recommend this to anyone.

Following on from the fairly popular Happy Lesson TV series, Happy Lesson Advance hopes to breathe some fresh air into this admittedly average series.

The format is the same, 1 boy + the usual main cast.. but now include an extra girl in it! Tah dah! the basis of Happy Lesson Advance, its more of the same stuff, similar fillers, same character personalities (Thank god Mina is still there, she is so cute!!) and just more of the same thigns that you might have liked i nthe first series.
Now wiht the extra character to help prod the story along (which isn't much apart form the main character wants Mitsuki to be her mama), theres a distinct hollowness about the whole thing, the new character adds nothign more than an undeveloped character trying to breka away Chitose and Mitsuki's relationship, the other mamas also get their undeveloped side episode/story to help things along. But there's no real chemistry in this show.

Sure, if you liked the first series then you may like this, especially the with change of art in this one. But the lack of concrete developed story and the same repetitive style of humour is present. The extra character is almost pointless other than a story-driven plot device which is wholly undeveloped.

Overall, HLA could have been better, instead they took the easy way out by adding a pointless character and sticking with the same formula as the first series (whcih isn't really a bad thing)

5.5/10
Grade: C-

It's like Happy Lesson, which it is a sequel to of course, and I think it shows that the creator came a long way. It has dull moments, such as Happy Lesson, but the characters are more developed, the story more intriguing by far; in general, it's a good lazy watch and earns its place in the download queu.

Nowhere near perfect, and yet I found myself enjoying this..immensely, having watched it all in one sitting. Though many I know think it was either terrible or average, I thought it was excellent..just can't figure out why...

anyways. animation was certainly fitting, sound was good, story..was a bit forced, but otherwise..it was ok. Characters were interesting and vibrant, and top notch value and enjoyment...for me anyways.

The animation is the same, so that is good too. Beacause i am used to seeing th same characters. Also the characte's voice's are all the same too.

The story is pretty much the same which is about mothers, and how Nagatsuki is accepted to the family as one of their daugthers. The characters are pretty well developed and with their own reason for becoming a mother for Chitose-kun.

I really enjoyed this too. I think is a great anime to collect and rewatch too. I recommend it to everyone who liked the first sequal if not, you can watch the second one too.

This show gets an identical review as the first season got, since the two ARE virtually identical. It's just a continuation of the first show. Hence, this review might sound a LITTLE similar:-)

Once again, this show doesn't have a lot of technical merit. The story is still a mess, the music is just passable, and yet I love it. Ugh.

I watched the whole thing instead of studying for what will be a HARD final tomorrow. It's just enjoyable. I feel at ease watching this. I can't help it.

an alrite series to watch if you want to kill time. i didn't see the previous series but not much happens in this one (might be wise to watch the first series in order to find out how the family can to be). everyone was pretty unique, although i didn't like Chitose's attitude at most times.

ehhh, after watching the first happy lesson installments, i have to say im a little disappointed. this was enjoyable and i was pretty hooked, but it wasnt as fun to watch as the first one. this whole new story itself was a good idea, but it drained a lot of the silliness which i liked. animation is good and the characters are still the same except for the new ones. i watch the first happy lesson over and over, but this was more like a "must see (but not own)" type of series. also i love the ending theme song, and the ending to the anime was pretty good too. so if your a fan of this series i reccomend you watch this, but dont set too high of expectations.

The second season of Happy Lesson TV series. This series was rather disappointing seeing as the other Happy Lesson were fun and enjoyable. HLA just started to drag as the humor turned out dry. I don't know whether it was because the writers got lazy, ran out of ideas, or tried to put more drama. One thing is for sure, they failed.

Instead of being slap stick humor running through most of the series, it ended up being slap stick humor interspersed here and there with "drama" (very slow "drama") most of the time. Some episodes I could even say were about nothing at all, like nothing big or funny happens.

HLA tried to put more serious messages in it, at least I felt that they were being hinted, but the execution was just horrible so I didn't pick up much. This problem also showed up in the characters. Seeing as there were a couple new characters, the development was just not what I wanted (guess it's just a personal preference).

Anyway, whether HLA was just released because of the demand from HL TV or some other reason, in my opinion HLA simply failed in comparison to the original Happy Lesson.

I would say, Happy Lesson fans will probably find this series lacking in substance and disappointing. To the rest, maybe. However, there is supposed to be a Happy Lesson season 3 so if it helps HLA, I might change some scores.

The animation is ok, nothing spectacular. If you've seen lots of anime, you will agree. Nothing outstanding here.
The story, well there is not much here except a kid getting to know with his foster moms. Then there is another kid that wants a foster mom. The only thing, they got the ending right, not rushed, the rest of the episodes were about knowing who the person is and what the other moms are like. Not that funny.
Character=great. The design is unique for every character, with a normal school boy. the moms have different personality. But it looks recycled from othe anime's. & kisaragi-mom looks like an anime character from a famous anime.
I have not seen the 1st season though. So I don't know how good is this. There is not much value here, unless you like happy lesson.
The idea a boy staying with 5 moms is not new. Not that ecchi. Its love hina without the ecchi & romance. More to family entertainment & family virtues.

Luckily, you don't have to watch Happy Lesson TV to know what Happy Lesson Advance is all about. But it's not very different from Happy Lesson at all, the only differentiation is a new character being introduced - how exciting!

Great animation but not a very good anime series, not something to be excited about in my opinion. There were some giggles that were created from me - but that's all.

But at least there isn't much ecchiness like I thought there would be. Like c'mon, a guy surrounded by women...if not that but teachers?!

The sequel to Happy Lesson. Same situation, new character. In a word = quite plain.

It's got good quality, but it's not something you could brag about. It's okay in most aspects I guess, but the story is still the same old - same old, now with a touch of seriousness.

I don't watch anime to think about life issues; or tell me what people should or should not do. Episodes are wasted over petty squabbles that supposedly helps "identify" the characters. Many say that the premise of 5 pretty surrogate mothers and wayward son has been wasted... Sad but true.

It's still got something going for it, it seems. Read my full review.

Yet again, more happy lesson ^_^

Same rules apply from the OVA and 1st TV

Happy Lesson went down realy well with me. Chitose is funny plus the moms are cute and well voiced. The quality of the show itself is good too. Bright animation and good music all around. Not having any normal romance between them is great btw. The mother-son bonding can be quite touching =)

This isnt your normal harem show. If you like the genre you'll love this. If you dont like the harem idea you might want to give this a try, as it puts a new twist on an old anime staple.

On and ending note, the whole happy lesson experience was great. I'll be eagerly awaiting any new HL series that come out in the future.

same old anime as the first season, except they added the magical 2nd season formula... add a new character! it's so much the same as the first season (maybe thats why i kept watching em), chitose still has a hard time, expressing his true feeling toward his moms and thats where the whole plot goes. the typical megane class president still cracks me up, too bad kana-chan wasn't as funny on this one. good op n ed theme, i missed the chibi ending animation from the 1st season.

I liked Happy Lesson Advance. It continued the story where Happy Lesson left off, and I think did a good job of recreating what made the original as good as it was, and improving upon it.

The main problem with the first one was that it was very episodic, and there was not much of a conflict connecting all the episodes. Happy Lesson Advance has a new character, and that character's development ties all the episodes together nicely. As a result, the ending is very emotional and pays off greatly.

The animation isn't quite as good as in Happy Lesson, and the music is also not nearly as memorable, but the improvements in the story structure make it worth watching to any fans of the original.

Once again, the ending comes too soon, so I hope they make another season.
