| The animation and beginning of this movie was so uninteresting, I couldn't bare to watch the rest. This animation is so unbearable... really. Looking at it, i would guess its from pre-1980s, boy was i shocked to find it made 1994.
My initial impression of this movie was totally different than what actually happened. Torture of terrorists, mystical vampire-like characters in horse-drawn time-space carriages, and violence everywhere. However, aside from the violence... it really isn't very "mystical".
Instead the story premise is about terrorist groups against a company owning 90% of the world (sounds silly huh? if not...). In comes Darkside, an enigma to the end. He randomly appears/"returns" and starts changing the things and people around him. Persona, the company, wants to maintain their power and sends in their resources to stop any rebels.
In general, if you can get past the horrid animation style and get to the root at how these character cope and deal in such a world (add in your various quirks of mysticism, and sci-fi-ness), then this would be interesting. however, i really say "pass" on this... as the presentation isn't exactly top-notch and watching this doesn't exactly leave behind strong feelings for any particular character or topic. There is a lot of paradoxical elements but I really just don't care.

| Sigh... when finding a rare anime title that not too many people have seen, its usually a 50/50 chance of being good, or being trash. Unfortunately, this one certainly was the latter.
The animation was old, yeah, but even for it's age it was done pretty bad. The character designs were extremely generic, the battle scenes were unbelieveable and uninteresting for the most part, and the amount of reused dramatic moments was annoying. If you don't understand what I mean by the last part, theres a simple example: blood dripping on the ground. When someone may or may not have been hit, the dramatic scene of blood dripping on the ground was used all the time in this short movie.
Although the music was boring and uneffective for placement of mood, the dub was so bad it made me want to attempt seppuku with an ice cream scooper.
The story seemed a little thrown together, the creators hoping that we'd just go along with whatever was happening because of the flashing pictures and violence, blood. Not that much of anything was really explained, just a ragtag group of characters fighting minions of some giant organization, and nearly everyone of these people on both sides are "enhanced humans" giving them special powers. Dbz-like powers. Lame, overused crap like that.
The character designs were awful, but some of the characters that seemed somewhat important weren't talked about hardly at all. Like the person whos name is in the TITLE, for example.
Overall, I can't say I reccomend this title to anyone. This is even my 3rd ATTEMPT at watching this...the other two times I either fell asleep or discovered that pulling out my fingernails was a better use of my time.

| An interesting, if largely empty, movie that gets by on atmosphere and some clever animation.
