I did not get what's so special about this movie. One thing I can say good is that it has the best animation ever in a Lupin OVA, and one good sound system. The "romancing story of lupin" is present here but its an OVA and deos relies on something to build to this part. Its a good ova, but then I was like watching a midsection of a movie which I have little idea about.

Lupin III: The Living Magician ~ Return of Pycal or better known as "Lupin: Return Of Pycal" is an OVA that impressed me in some aspects of this Lupin ova. I am a Lupin III fan, but I do know most specials and ovas from the series' are quite average. This seems to be a little better than most of the Lupin OVAs, movies, and specials.
I mean it sticks with the story doesn't extend to long and no side-traacking but its not perfect. Also an a quick note there is a little bit of nudity in this anime piece.

ANimation - Before I watched this I was thinking in my mind, "Probably the standard lupin graphics of the 2000s", but the animation is better than expected. The character designs are more detailed than most character designs 2002. There is no sketchy movements which is what I like.
I really like the colors, theres so many of them with different shades and tints. What really impressed me is how the CGI fit perfectly with scenes and partds that didn't use CGI.

Sound - The music is awesome especially in the action scenes, it fit sreal well. The voices fit the characters' abd suite them well.

Story - The story is cool and has no distractions and side-parts, it simply gets to the point. The story takes place where Lupin steals these crystals and now Pycal wants them to do something and tries to get them from lupin. I'm not spoiling it for you guys.

Characters - The characters are exciting and have good personality for a 54 minute OVA. The characters attire is like any other Lupin episode. Pycal has some cool tricks up his sleave and Lupin, Jigen, ands Goamon have some new ways.

Value - This is a pretty good anime. I recomend this to ant Lupin III fan. The rewatch value is average you will probably rewatch it but not right away, only if your watching it with some friends. The subtittles are accurate and on time with the scenes.

Lupn III the Return of Pycal, was a decent short OVA. I didn't grasp the whole return aspect because I never finished Lupin TV. With what I was provided the story was like a typical Lupin episode. This OVA also ended too abruptly for my taste leaving many questions unanswered. If you want to know more read the rest of my review.

OK if not brilliant entry in the ongoing Lupin III yearly TV Special line. Good visuals with a potentially interesting plot that never quite takes off.

Tough one to gauge only because it features a villain most don't know and its a tv movie. But this review gives the benefit of the doubt.

This in my opinion is one of the best, and the worst of the Lupin videos. The beauty of the video goes to a down fall as they try and introduce alot of 3D effects that are not needed throughout the movie. Also the fight scenes with the good ol' Magician and Thief seemed lacking in what they could of done. But the return of the greatest villian is possibly why it makes this video one of the greatest Lupin films. Also it seemed too short. As I was getting into it, it ended very shortly and the enviroment and lack of Zenigata seemed to bring this to a drop point as well. The story was great and the animation was excellent but it just seems they could do so much more with a Pycal than what they did.
