| This pretty stand-alone special has no real plot to speak of; no ground-breaking event or deep meanings to be found in this anime. Not only is this special short (same as one episode) the basis of the plot is merely Suguru and his friends hiding their dirty magazines from Mahoro and the girls.
The animation was typical for the Mahoromatic series: colorful, but rather dated, though it fits the mood of the anime well and doesn't take itself too seriously.
The sound wasn't good or bad, it was merely "there."
The story was pretty pathetic. If you're looking for an in-depth storyline and complex plot, do not watch this anime. The story is predictable and the purpose of the entire plot is merely to set up various jokes.
The characters are amusing, though, again, if you are looking for deep characters or character devlopment, do not look at this special. Nothing about the characters has changed in the transition from the series to this special. Nothing new to see here.
This special has little value other than for people who loved the first two seasons of Mahoromatic.
I did, however, enjoy the special, and it got me laughing a few times. But there are dozens of anime and anime specials I would watch before this one.

| Animation resembles that of season 2. Everything is nice, sharp, and colorful. It has a lot of solid colors. Voice actors are quite talented. They captured the essence of the anime characters very well. There was less music in the anime this time around. I believe the opening song is the same song as in the first season. It still sounds nice. The ending song is too cutsy, and not as pleasing.
The story goes back to season one's style. The main focus is very ecchi: the plot is about hiding ecchi books. Even though, I thought Suguru was very clever in what he did. Also, a good amount of nudity is back. This OVA, or special episode, felt like just another ordinary episode of the first season.
There wasn't any character development, due to its 1 episode. But from what I already know, the characters are nicely designed and varied. For example, the teacher is very lecherous, while Minawa is very innocent and clumsy. There's a good amount of characters and varieties to make this anime still interesting to watch.
After watching the ending of season 2, this special episode seemed to not relate at all to it. It's supposed to be 20 years into the future, and yet this special goes back to the days of season 2, but in the style of season 1. If you liked the Mahoromatic series, this special is a must watch. There's also one point in the show that cracked me up. I thought the part when Suguru rode on Slash was very humurous, and original. So in conclusion, this special is funny to watch and brings back the ecchi-ness of season 1. It's a nice continuation with no linear relation.

| The animation is the same as the first Mahoro and second one. This is is more like a short little story in how far can soem guys go for their treasure, which is very funny and intersting. Also the sound is the same, nothing has changed.

| No offense to Mahoromatic fans, but the Summer Special really seemed like a waste for me, unless you're a fan of Mahoro's campaign against Suguru collecting ecchi. The animation and music are good as usual, but plot and character development are thrown out the window to create this comedy special. There were some comical highlights, such as Shikijou-sensei falling into a trap for wine set up by Mahoro, but I couldn't get anything good out of the special.

| The Mahoromatic Summer special was lacking in story. It is simply about Suguru hiding porn magazines from Mahoro. It is also VERY short only the length of one episode. Everything else about this special was ok. Its good for a couple of laughs. If you want to know more read my review.

| An enjoyable addition to the Mahoromatic universe, but nothing too earth-shaking. 20 minutes packed with good comedy; though it tends to get a little absurd at times.

| i havent watched the first or second series of Mahoromatic, so i wasnt sure what to expect from this special, i recieved from a freind as a gift, although i should of read up before watching this show
the story is actually good, the situations Suguru and his freinds get into are funny and almost enjoyable to see
i really dont like the fan service given though, but somehow i managed to watch the rest and im glad i did, it was fun
definatly not something most girls will like im not sure there though, i really didnt much like anime like this
so the music.. is okay not spectactular
a like or hate anime basically

| Call this a bone to all the loyal viewers who were upset with the ending of the second season. this would fit in anywhere in the middle of the second season, and I would say it fits quite well. It is not that special, nor is it bad or anything. just another episode. perhaps it will leave the fans of mahoro with a better taste in their mouth than season two did.
I was kinda hoping that it would be a "special" special, and perhaps somewhat redeem season 2, or clarify, or, well anything. but perhaps it's better this way.
a must see if you are a fan, otherwise: move along folks, nothing to see here.

| This special episode is a day in their lives, just like a regular episode of the series. However, this doesn't continue(or fit) with the end of Mahoromatic TV2, so you could call it a spinoff episode.
It's good, nothing more, but watch it if you have watched Mahoromatic(both seasons).
It'll be worth that little time it take to watch.

| Like one of the fun episodes of the tv show.This is great if you missed the characters,and the story is nice too.Not much more can be said about it that i havnt already said in my review for the tv show.

| ROFLMAO! This is the light-hearted humor of Mohoromatic at it's very best. The whole world (not quite) goes to war over one man's stasm of pr0n! This is essentially the grand total summation of all of Mahoro-chan's "ecchi nanoha ikenai to omoimasu" in the two seasons of Mahoromatic.
This special really helped to perk me up after the sad ending to the second season.
Definitely not to be missed by fans.

| This short TV Special to Mahoromatic brings back the portions of the series that made Mahoromatic so great.
The Mahoromatic Summer Special is the very essence of Mahoromatic humor as it is simply full of laughs, jokes, and some absurd humor. It is as ecchi as the series (perhaps even more so), and you find out a couple more things about some of the characters, namely Mahoro and Suguru.
Though the time frame of this special is outside of the series, I would have preferred Mahoromatic to have ended like this special instead of the crap that it turned to in its second season (don't want to remember that).
Well, if you are a Mahoromatic fan, watch it. Even if you aren't, and aren't offended by a lot of ecchi humor, watch it for the laughs.

| A fun little filler for the second season of Mahoromatic, though I found it a little hard to watch immediately after finishing the second season, since the time frame is before the ending of that season. I recommend watching this episode near the beginning of the second season after the new characters are introduced.

| I really enjoyed this episode. It was entirely silly and very funny. Though not unlike some of the filler episodes in the main series, this episode is particularly over-the-top and that's what makes it so fun to watch. The animation and sound is pretty much on par with the rest of the series.

| Dieses Special ist nicht mehr und nicht weniger als eine der Fun-Eps die man problemlos zwischen die ersten 8 Episoden der 2. Staffel schieben könnte. Es ist aber eine recht erheiternde Episode die sich komplett darum dreht das Mahoro und die Mädels sich zu einer Gemeinschaft zusammenschließen um die Erotikmagazine der Jungs zu konfiszieren frei nach dem Motto "Ecchi ist inakzeptabel" :). Ein lustiger Bonus für alle Fans von Mahoromatic.

| Mahoromatic Summer 2003 TV Special is an episode that takes place in the middle of season 2 (since Minawa is present in this episode). In the Mahoromatic series (1 & 2) Misato Suguru is a hardcore ecchi fan (ie has a very large collection of magazines that are equivalents to Maxim and Playboy). Mahoro, on the other hand, is the ecchi police who confiscates all ecchi she finds in Suguru's possession, on body, or around the house. This series takes these to characters head to head in who dominates in the war on ecchi. (play on the war of terrorism)
Overall, this this special is at least on par with the quality of Mahoromatic Seasons 1 and 2, if not better. How should I put it? It's just incredibly _random_ which is nice for a series like this. Unfortunately, to really get this special, you have to (of course) watch at least a couple of episodes of Mahoromatic and/or the first half of Mahoromatic S2 to fully understand this special, or you'd get pretty lost in terms of context.
Key suggestion to those who haven't seen this series along with the rest of Mahoromatic: Watch this special before watching episode 8 of Mahoromatic Season 2. Trust me on this.
Oh yeah, and remember: "Ecchi nanoha ikenai to omoimasu!!" <vbg>

| Just a separate episode of Mahoromatic (TV 2).
Plays with same type of humor as the original series. If the comedy in Mahoromatic appealed to you, you'll most likely find this special episode hilarious, as well. No improvements in areas of animation or sound. And why would there be, it's the same good stuff as before.
Since this was released after the original series had already reached its end, one could think this of some kind of reminder of the 'good old days' before the gloomy ending. IF you want to go below the ecchi-surface of Mahoromatic Summed 2003 TV Special.

| Great anime. Only one episode? I was looking for more, but well done for just 1 episode. The episode is a stand alone comedy which focus on the ecchi of suguru in hiding ecchi comics. Nice for laughs. Light anime. Great value if you have all of mahoromatic already in your collection.
