| This is actually quite a nice anime. For 4 episodes it is quite good, but not great. But it does provide good action. Its like a run down version of ROD OVA. This is perfect for casual viewing if you are interested in good action without paying too much attention to the story Firstly, this is a spinoff of a H-anime with none of the H content and for some weird reason this is a good anime IF Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is a good anime, as the characters have the same relationship.

| Triangle Hearts OVA is your typical one-shot story that tries to combine cool action and story into one package. Unfortunately, a halfhearted attempt on both elements created a rather less than stellar product/result.
First of all, the animation actually isn't too bad. In fact, I found the character designs to be quite nice, although a bit common and generic in anime shows nowadays. The action ranges from very dynamic and cool looking to choppy frames. Unfortunately, the latter happpens more. You can't have a good sword action show unless it's presented in fluid motion. There were numerous instances where they just got lazy and the animation felt choppy during the action. In other words, the power strikes of the sword "feels" less dramatic due to poor animation. It looks like the animators decided to pool all the budget into the last episode, because that's the only ep with decent action scenes.
The sound was alright. Nothing special, although I do recommend owning the op theme which was nice.
The story...it gets slightly interesting in ep 4, provided you didn't sleep through the first 3 episodes. We are supposed to sympathize with the singer character, but it's rather hard due to the lack of her background. It's like all the characters are cardboard cut-outs. The three main characters are just supposed to be peerless mercenaries who could OWN missioin impossible anyday. In fact, you hardly know anything about them except the fact that they could OWN anyone in combat. When you find out the reason behind why the singer is targetted, it really wasn't that big of a deal...
The characters are...flat. They hardly reveal any emotions at all and when they do...it seemed rather artifical and fake. Hard to relate to any of them at all.
The value and enjoyment are low. This is meant for one time watch only.
I would highly recommend the spin-off though, Lyrical Nanoha is much better than this.

| Unfortunately for Triangle Heart, two words cripple this potentially great OVA into a rather average, yet still very enjoyable watch: time constraint. As with all great stories which are rushed, a strong opening episode hooks the viewer, slowly letting him or her go until they completely fall away.
As with most OVAs, Triangle Heart features a beautifully fluid, crisp visual experience. Attention to subtleties, light and shadows most especially, really caught my eye. There seems to be a knack for showing off twilight oriented scenes in Triangle Heart, and I must say I thought this rather nice: most anime generally pick a major focus on day or night scenes.
Soundwise, if you are a Kotoko fan as I am, you will love the opening theme. Be this not the case, as with Pantha a few reviews down, you most likely will not. All a matter of preference, but in my case, it's down in my book as one of my favorite opening songs to hit the anime realm. With that out of the way, the Seiyuu fits the characters nicely, but the overall background music is really nothing stellar. Still, I can't remember an example of where it detracted from the experience, so nothing really negative to mention about it even though there is nothing positive, either.
Now, the story and characters are the two major planes in which many will lose interest in Triangle Heart; first let's touch on the story a bit. While not very innovative, it is neither cliche: whereas one would expect an abundance of "I will protect you, my most precious friend!" and the like, here it's nowhere to be found. As such, the story does not possess much assertiveness, and leaves much of its influence up to the viewer to decide. If you go into Triangle Heart expecting an absolutely superb, depth-driven story, you simply won't find it: four OVA episodes is simply too short. However, if one expects a rather decent, lenient, slow-paced, and relaxed flow of events, Triangle Heart will provide just that.
Yet, the reason Triangle Heart suffers so lies in part to its strong emphasis on character development. It tries to do too much with too many characters in too little time, and thus turns most people off. In my opinion, less backstory would have been helpful; there simply isn't enough time to adequately cover all the bases. Given the time period, though, I must say I am VERY impressed with what Triangle Heart managed to do. We don't find any out-of-place characters in the least; everybody knows their specific role, and plays it well. While the brief scene at the coffee shop hints at an, at least initially, lengthier series, (most likely a 13-episode series rather than an OVA) unlike most I did not find them all that distracting. Them aside, the four main characters are designed quite nicely, and take serious, mature approaches to their work rather than childish, stupid "if I try, I will win!" Here there are no all powerful characters; the villains are just as devious as the protagonists. Overall, a quiescent balance of which I approve, and though not all that much exciting, nevertheless enjoyable.
With all the negatives and their positive twists, by now it should be quite obvious I consider Triangle Heart well worth a try. A brief, enjoyable way to spend two hours' time. Not the best, not the worst, a prime example of a high-quality OVA, designed for a way to sit back and bringg a smile to one's face. When given proper consideration and limiting one's initial hopes for a series-quality depth, Triangle Heart can be a most pleasant, fun, and relaxed experience I would recommend to all.

| Beautiful, stupid stupid. Evertyhing starts out strong enough but it just gets mangled and uninspired. Even though its only 4 eps it dragged out longer than that. Maybe fans of the game liked it, maybe playing the game would of helped. I'd bet you would get more enjoyment from playing one of the games.

| First off- story and characters are extremely weak because this series isn't made to stand on it's own. It's part of something else which does much to explain why some stuff just does not make sense and why there're plot holes the size of...something. Value, accordingly, can't really be judged either because it depends on if you know the primary work.
Most of the animation was pretty well done and was presented in a visually appealing way. Sound was good enough. Nothing absolutely spectacular, but nothing that made you cringe either...except for the few bits of English.
Enjoyable and short I though. Blend of action and random sappiness which I found entertaining (and probably few other people).

| This is one of the most "tiresome" 4 episode OVA I've ever watched! On the cover this series sound pretty good, but when you actually watch the anime, everything seems to fall short of your expectation.
One really big problem is the animation itself. Being an action anime, the fighting scenes are really poor. They tried to create a psuedo "matrix" style fighting which just does not work, the action itself looks awkward and is really obivious when they are fighting in "normal" speed.
And then we have the story... The story is just bad. The story seems exciting, but you will start seeing plot-holes everywhere as the story progress. The flashback seems to show up at the most inappropriate times and the story is constructed in a way that I can't root for any of the sides at all. And what is with the coffee house that does not contribute to the story what-so-ever?
The characters don't help either. There is actually no characters that I like in this anime at all. Kyoya is is just so "cool" that he seems cold in person, Ellis is just a stupid person... She should not be operating a body-gurad company at all with her intelligence and skills. And we have Fiasse, which I believe is one of the most selfish, and uncaring character here. First, if she knew that Kyoya and Miyuki are way stronger than Ellis, why hire Ellis at all? Then if you know that you are the target for kidnap, why not contact police? And then delay the concert until things clear up? And she seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time...
It is just a tedious anime for me to watch, story is boring and bad overall, and the characters are just simply unimpressive.

| Animenfo decided to tell me that I wasn't logged in as I posted this and ate my review. Gaaaah.
Triangle Hearts is not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, but not exactly the fluff that the title and plot summary might entail either. My enjoyment of the title was pretty consistent, even though it wasn't exactly up to standard; I had neither an "OMG WHOA" nor a "this is bullshit" moment, ending notwithstanding. Though perfectly content with its distinct lack of depth, the series is a little bit upbeat and bright for something touting itself as 'action'. Then again, this did originate from a hentai OVA/game, explaining its inherent shallowness...
My main gripe with Triangle Hearts's animation is the action scenes. They make me laugh. Most notable is a fight scene in episode 4, some parts of which simply have to be seen to be believed. Fights are cheaply animated, taking an insane amount of shortcuts in fast-paced maneuvers that would normally go unnoticed. When viewed with a little bit of scrutiny, however, it's clear where the developers didn't want to animate thoroughly. Awkward camera angles, sudden screen pans, disappearing characters...One would think that an 'action' anime would put a little more emphasis on the fighting. Other than that, Triangle Hearts has pleasant and agreeable animation. The characters are absolutely unmemorable-looking (you could just as easily put any of them in another anime and they would snap right in) and three of the main females look frustratingly alike. It's a pretty good looking anime, but the developers weren't exactly liberal with their budget.
Music is either soundtracky or highly dismissive J-pop fare. Fiasse Christella has absolutely nothing on Mitsuki Kouyama. As a fan of KOTOKO's music myself, I was rather fond of the OP; unfortunately the ED left a lot to be desired. No notes to make about the rather uninspired voice acting, except for the prominent Midorikawa Hikaru starring as Kyoya's voice actor.
Triangle Hearts tries to be something more than a typical musical girl series, and it manages to incorporate a fairly healthy dose of intrigue and action into its plot, but overall I found myself not really caring. The series has an extremely soft-around-the-edges feel, and any plot twists or mechanisms it may have are entirely predictable. The main flaw here is the downtime between the action scenes: though it is mostly the fault of the flat cast of characters, the dialogue scenes and plot exposition are quite boring. This leaves the anime feeling rather uneven, especially a very long stretch from the entire second episode all the way to most of the third, where the viewer must struggle through everything from boring flashbacks to angsty confessions of futility. At least, unlike most short OVAs, the plot was complete. The definite weakest point of Triangle Hearts would have to be its final ten minutes, which create the world's most boring and contrived 'show everyone's happy life' epilogue that I've ever seen. It took all the willpower I had to get through these final minutes awake and sane. To suggest that this anime started off strong would not necessarily be true; I'd say that solid is a more appropriate word. The denoument, however, is certainly less than thrilling. Finally, it's worth noting that I watched the first episode, waited five months and watched the other three just recently, if that gives one any indication of how much I really cared about the plot.
Triangle Hearts's characters are meh. Very meh. All of the dimensions of every character in the anime can be summed up with one word -- 'diligent', 'cautious', 'ambitious' and so forth. The characters are very little more than cardboard caricatures of the values that they so flimsily represent, and they are extremely boring ones at that. Nothing will keep me remembering these characters; in fact, I only remember the names of three of them. Worse yet, we have a generic waitress harem squad hanging around, though they have a blessedly minor role in the anime. They are easily the most useless and wasteful characters in the anime, offsetting the anime's attempts to be a dramatic action feature and instead adulterating it with weak comedy. There's nothing more to note here.
To suggest that I didn't enjoy Triangle Hearts wouldn't be fair. For all of its shallowness and all of its faults, its only intention was to be a simple little adventure without any sort of depth or pretention. This attitude certainly isn't going to win it any awards, but it does create a fairly refreshing atmosphere for the viewer. The anime could have been that much better, furthermore, with a more solid and distinctive group of characters to its name; as it stands, however, it is very ready to become even more obscure than it already is.

| The animation was nice. There were some nice fight sequences but everything in between the major fights was really boring. I have never played the game this was based on, so maybe I would appreciate the many characters more. The main problem I had with this anime is they introduce too many characters that have little or nothing to do with the plot. They are just either friends or somehow related to the main male character. This took away from developiing the characters that were central to this particular story. The extra characters are not developed at all and having them in the story takes away from the main cast. In the end, I do not care at all for any of the characters and would never watch this again. Also, I am confused about the whole age thing. It seems Kyoyo and Ellis are about the same age as they played together as children, but in the anime Kyoyo is said to be about fourteen and Ellis has been a bodyguard for three years. So this means she has been a bodyguard since she was 11? I am not sure if this was a fansub mistake or what. This concept struck me as silly as the anime is set in modern times and a regular world setting. No one seems to find it odd that an 11 year old was a bodyguard and the other bodyguards seem to have no problem taking orders from someone who's around 14. It just seemed silly to me. Not worth buying or a rewatch.

| It's not bad, but isn't too good either. Animation is very bad even for a TV series, so making an OVA with this quality is nearly an insult. The last episode has a big improvement but it still doesn't reach the ova-level. I don't like the songs either (which there are plenty).
On the other hand, the story is more complex and has lots of well-developed characters. Voices are very good too.
I guess I can't fully appreciate Triangle Hearts since I haven't played the game. But at the very least, this anime is worh a try.

| I debated after the first episode if I should or not watch the remaining three, reason being it looked as though it was going to be another run of the mill anime with nothing but attractive characters and a crumby story...But alas I was wrong; the plot starts to take its place and the characters all come together and create a very interesting story. The characters are fantastic and you get to know much about them in a short time whch is a plus and the action when it takes place is excellent if not better. Sadly my only true complaint is the 4 episodes really had me intent but it was soon finished where it felt as if it had just begun...perhaps a series will happen....heres hoping.

| I'm not quite a fan of bloody violence but this was an exception, it brought out of my definition of "cool" with the samurai-style of fighting. If Triangle Hearts was quite short, but at least it wasn't bland - it was full of action.
Without knowing it was originated from an H-game, I sorta got the hint already. There are practically a whole lot of girls compared to one guy as a focused character. That and the defined voluptuous-ness, if that's even a word.
The ending was kinda extended and lasted for the whole last episode practically. Usually, I don't see that long of an ending, it left too much of a "good and calm" feeling.

| A decent ova about a singer, a professional body guard, and two freelancers that were all childhood friends. There's only 2 episodes out right now with a third planned for the end of november it looks like. The story introduces alot of people (especialy at the coffee shop) so I'm not really sure how long this well end up being...
Smooth combat scenes are the hilight of the ova in my opinion. They could improve upon their use of sound\bgm though. Kind of like the Munto OVA, this could turn into a 12-13 episode story quite nicley, I'll be looking out for more eps in the future.

| Okay, just to make a couple of things clear, this is based on a Hentai Game Series, but the OVA itself is NOT hentai and does NOT contain any hentai (at least not in the first two eps). Choashydra (first review on this OVA) needs a couple of glasses it seems, since there was NOT a toppless picture of that girl, merely a picture of a nude model with the head of the girl pasted on top of it (the tape was clearly visible)
enough ranting..
This OVA is pretty nice, has good sword action, and the story line seems interesting. I seriously doubt there are just two episodes, since these were merely an introduction of the characters and the story.
The animation is nice, nothing fancy.
It's basically a detective story with sword action, makes a nice combination IMO.
[quote][by Miyuki-Fansubs]
Triangle Heart is a H game released by Ivory back in late 1998. They then released numerous other games under the Triangle Heart title, with the last one being a compilation DVD containing Triangle Heart 1, 2 and 3 which went on sale in mid 2002. This OVA tells the story of what happens after Triangle Heart 3. There was also another 5 episode long H OVA released in 2000-2001 made after Triangle Heart 2. Both games and OVAs have completely separate stories, so don't worry if you haven't played/watched Triangle Heart 2 before.
