| Chobits is another manga where I watched the anime before it. Since the anime was really good, I decided to read the manga.
BUT WHAT I DIDN'T REALIZE WAS THAT THE MANGA HAD ecchi.
First of all, I don't like seeing ecchi in an anime, so I know for sure that I don't want to see ecchi in a manga. The anime Chobits had no ecchi, so that made me happy. The manga did and that totally caught me off guard.
The design is nice, the backgrounds are white and aren't really detailed.
The story is pretty original. A guy named Hideki moves to the city from the farmlife. He then hears about persocons and how they help people with their lives. Then one night he finds a persocon and takes it with him. From that day on he and the persocon became friends, but the anime takes a very different look on love and relationships then other animes I have seen.
Hideki - The main character who is very funny with a nice personality. He is intrested in hentai magazines, but that is what makes him hilarious and downright silly.
Chii - The persocon that Hideki meets. She lost her memory chip, so she doesn't know anything. So Hideki teaches her the daily things of life.
Shinbo - Hideki's first friend when he moves to the city. A really nice guy who helps Hideki with persocons and other stuff around the city.
Sumono - Shinbo's persocon. (Personally my favorite character) She's really hyper and energetic and so cute. She is always smiling and full of energy.
Hibiya - Is the landlady which helps Hideki about persocons. Overall she's a really kind lady who helps things out.
I recommend the anime over the manga, but if you like to see what girls have under their clothes then go read the manga.

| Realy great with goo design. It realy goes into the characters personality and you get connected with them. Its the first manga that made me cry cause its something more than just a manga. It talks about human relationships in a realy sweet and weird way. Something about human with machines etc. In our century, a century full of tecknologicall improvements it makes you think a bit more about humans and pc's... It makes you think something more about love and the ways you can love and what you can love, about true love. For me its just the best manga ever and i am almost certen it will make you cry.

| I have Read many other Reviews that thrashed the anime saying that the anime was stupid because it had many fillers etc.etc. In My Opinion, that may be right, But i think the Fillers were there for fun & I Enjoyed it Anyhow. It Made the Anime more Light-hearted and Happy. Okay, the Difference between the Anime and Manga of Chobits is... The Anime has fun for the first 20 episodes or so, but the last few episodes, it starts revealing everything and everything becomes Serious... Whilst in the Manga, the manga i reckon is dark and mysterious RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING...
Right from the beginning, They have already started revealing Chi has something going on, and many things about the other characters. In my opinion, Chobits manga is like Full Moon wo Sagashite Manga which are both very dark and gloomy compared to the animes which seems light-hearted but serious as well. But Anyway, I have read 2 CLAMP mangas, this and Card Captor Sakura, and this has proved to me that CLAMP Reveal More Hidden Secrets of the certain characters and story in the manga... which makes both the anime Great To Watch, & when you read the manga, You Won't be bored, cause there are Stuff you never knew from watching the anime... =)
Chobits Manga is a Good Manga, but i don't see how different it is from the anime. It has Great Character Development, we see how the farmboy, Hideki who gets nosebleeds easily has Matured into kind person, caring people he cares around him and helping them when he can. & Chi is SoOoO Adorable with her Natural Charm, even though she is a Robot... (O_O), yet she also looks elegant and beautiful in the costumes she wears. The whole Storyline of Chobits is Amazing. CLAMP has always been making Great Mangas & Animes talking about Love, as far as I know. & Chobits is the manga & anime that discusses about Love with an Item, a Robot, Something that generally doesn't have Emotions or a Life. Yet, Can we Humans Resist Falling in Love with Something So Ultimately Perfect like Persocoms?
This Manga has dived into these issues & elaborated them very beautifully in a magnificent manner. & I Enjoyed Every Aspect of this Manga. It isn't all that comedy and light-hearted like the anime, but darker and Much More Serious, Expressing More Emotions & Pains that the Characters have felt due to issues concerning Persocoms.
Not to Forget Mentioning, the Beautiful Artwork & Design this Manga has, especially the character designs. Chi was Adorable, & I reckon All the Other Characters Looked Great.
The Manga, Chobits, is Simply to say, Beautiful & Amazing as it goes into such Thoughtful Imaginary thinking with SoOoO Many Hypothetical Questions dealing with issues on Love with Machines & Things that Aren't Alive. I'm Breath-taken. A Perfect 10, CLAMP has yet again Produced Another Fantastic Work... =)

| Chobits is a very funny comic, especially in the first volumes. It is a light comic with no complicated story or end of the world conflict. It is just about human touch and relations, something absent in world of the comic.
If really androids replaced humans in the future and people are really used to it then despite the lighthearded story the comic carries a very pessimistic message.
if you'd like to see a gory version of Chobits go and read or watch Elfen Lied

| I got CHOBITS because I heard the manga was better then the anime; but while reading this manga, you feel like you are watching the anime anyway.

when i put it down i was saying to myself: omg! i have to read the next bit!
another amazing title by CLAMP
the design is really wonderfull, they make it look so simple, though it always looks like they put alot of effort in!
Chi is soo kawaii! there's alot of character development in her as she begins to learn new words.
Hideki, finds Chi in a rubbish dump, as he can't afford to buy a Persocom. he's soo funny! :3
The smart 12 year old boy is so kawaii! i love him! i can't remember his name though, the guy that set up the bbs in the first volume and found the picture of (possibly) Chi.
i HAVE To the read the next bit! im going to buy as many as i can!
i though Persocoms would be usefull, but once Chi read that book "The city with no People" i understood what it was about (unlike Hideki), people were going to fall in love with these adorable perscoms, and there'd be no love for normal people... touching picture book.... *sniff*
anyways i suggest this only to teens, (duh)as it's an Ecchi, no collection isn't complete without CLAMP's Chobits (or cardcaptor sakura)

| When I first picked up volume 1 from the local library I was expecting something amazing, because whenever I was searching the web for great anime this title kept on popping up. And to put this into lame man's terms it was worth the hype, the design was one of the best. The story line had some true potential and the story flowed quite nicely. There were two drastic tragedies of the series it should have been longer and used some the minor characters more and the ending of the series was appalling; it was an experience that I would never want to repeat, because the ending is something no guy would ever agree to. On another note, there could have been more character development; I mean the characters never really changed since the third book. But overall the series is worth reading.

| The chobits manga was awesome. i cant belive how badly the ending was butchered in the anime though. i actualy saw the anime first and then went looking to the manga for a better explanation on the ending. im really glad i checked out the manga though, it had alot more romance and explained everything crystal clear. i have a feeling that alot of the story's get butchered when converting from manga to anime. the ending in the manga left me with a warm happy feeling, yet the anime sort of left me with a freaked out/sad/kind of happy feeling. i could have kept reading the manga forever.....

| I really liked Chobits. I would say out of all the books i've read(alot)I like this one the most. I would actually rather read a chobits book then go on my computer and i dont think I could live without my pc.

| I can't believe this one didn't get all 10's. It was my first anime, I addit, but I actually lost an exam because of it and I still don't regret it. And I had just finished the anime series!! This manga was one of the best things I have ever read. After finishing it in just 2 afternoons, I spent hours just trying control my amazement. How could CLAMP come up with such a mature and perfectly written SF-love story... If I ever go to Japan I really hope I'll still find it. I'm gonna buy 2 copies. One to read, and one to pray to. Oh and one more for my future whife :))

| This is a really nice mix of romance, comedy and drama (in the lighter version than for example, in X.)
The plot is original in some points, and in some, it is not, but in general it has more advantages than weak points.
The design is adorable, very fitting for such a story, and the characters are greatly described.
It's a short, amusing manga and most probably you'll enjoy it.

| Hmm...what to say? Chobits is a rather good series. Not amazing but not bad either. I'd also like to mention that this manga is for mature readers...I probably wouldn't recommend this story to people under 13 or 14. There are a few scenes with nudity, as well as sexual jokes.
Like all of CLAMP's works, the art is very beautiful and detailed. There never seems to be an awkward drawing anywhere.
The story was interesting but I wasn't very impressed by the ending. Something about it felt out of place from the rest of the series and it seemed rushed.
Characters were OK. After a while, some of them start to annoy you if they keep doing the same things over and over again. It's tolerable, though.
Overall, Chobits was an enjoyable series. I still don't think it's one of the best manga series but it's worth checking out if you're interested ^_^

| This manga, being the first work I read from CLAMP, is what originally got me hooked on CLAMP's work. That being said, this manga is really good, with a great story, good character development, and nice character designs. However, i prefer the anime over the manga.

| While enjoyable, a few things left me a little "bleh." First, the repetitive short stories throughout the manga were entertaining at first, but quickly became boring and annoying. Secondly, I felt the manga ended without addressing many issues... sidestepping altogether many of the questions regarding AI and the meaning of existence, etc. It felt very rushed. Entertaining... but could have been handled a little bit better.

| I probably shouldn't review this manga because I love Chii and my opinion would be biased. But what the hell anyway.
The art of this manga is beautiful (as expected from CLAMP). The story is not that deep but it's not TOO sappy. I love the characters especially Chii and Ms. Hibiya. Sumomo is so cute and hilarious. Chii is sooo cute!! it's a very funny and enjoyable manga, a MUST READ.

| Read this to confirm the link between Angelic Layer and Chobits.
Over all, a ton of fanservice more than the anime.
