| This is not exactly an anime, it is suppose to be come with the PG model kits of the corresponding mobile suit.
The best part of Gundam EVOLVE is the eye candy. Every part is meticulously recreated in CG.
The story you have to know the respective series to understand what is going on, otherwise you will be scratching your head wondering what is going on.
This 5 part series is probably for the Gundam fans. It shows a lot of details not seen in the anime, but it could not stands on its own because of it being too short and a lack of story.

| Gundam Evolve is a short special mostly dealing with great computer generated animation. The battles in this all look amazing. That being said each episode is only like 5 or 6 min. long. Also there is no coherent storyline between the episodes, they are all about a different Gundam series. Despite these faults this is worth watching for the animation alone. If you want to know more read on.

| Interesting showcase footage for Gundam fans!
Yes, to fully enjoy this, you -must- be one of those Universal Century Gundam fans (with the exception of the humorous Evolve 3)
Evovle 1: Interesting moment with Amuro recalling the most tragic events during the one year war, right before he launches with the RX-78 to combat Char in his Zeong. Though it lacked CG like the rest, it was nostalgic to see such footage; good decision to not render the scenes in CG.
Evolve 2: A video is given to Kamille Bidan while he recovers from the mental incapacitation inflicted by Scirocco. This video was intended as a little bit of nostalgia for Kamille, with him training in the Gundam Mk. II. He complained the simulation was too easy, until he screwed up and destroyed the video probe. A prompt report had to be made by Kamille.
Evolve 3: The only short of the original five not from the UC timeline. Domon is training sometime after the G Gundam timeline, when Rain appears in her Rising Gundam. The two obviously have misunderstandings, with Rain accusing him of being unfaithful. The two ensue in the classic martial arts, with the finish of their Rising/God fingers... the winner: Rain. "Go repent, Domon!"
Evolve 4: Second to the last of the first five, and the second best. An excellent showcase of the Dendrobium fielding its capabilities against a Zeonic force. Gundam fans must see this trigger-happy Gundam in all its CG-rendered glory.
Evolve 5: Originally touted as the finale, it certainly went out as great finales should. Yoshiyuki Tomino directs this short, with a more kind-hearted scenario for Quess. The angry Tomino of 1988 gave Quess an appropriate end for her mood in Char's Counter Attack. The Tomino of 2003 opted for a more hopeful, optimistic fate. By far encorporating the best animation (excellent use of the CG for the mobile weapons), sound (touching soundtrack), story (a moving scenario that would've envoked sympathy for Quess), character (the feeling of pathos is her), value (the touted finale certainly deserves this end), enjoyment (the most satisfying for any Gundam fan, UC or recent convert by Gundam Wing or Seed)

| This is some of my favourite gundam footage ever. The animation is so good I almost wet my pants. 3-D Gundam! If they could ever make an entirely 3D show I would have a heart attack. The sound is better than in the shows. How much you enjoy these depends on how much you love the shows these gundams came from (Denodrobium rulez!)

| Gundam Evolve is just another clips for Gundam fans just like the SEED Astray animations. Of course, these clips are also used to attract Gundam collectors and hobbyist in order to boost model sales. Yet, there's a bit different then SEED astray clips: Except the RX-78-2 clip, the rest are in computer graphics!!! I found the animation quite stunning after I watched all those clips. My personal favorite is the RX-178 Gundam MkII clip and the GP03D clip. The rest are quite well done and do serve their purposes for model sales.
One side note: I believe the Gundam mkII clip and GP03D clip are included in the 1/60 Gundam mkII kit and the 1/144 GP03D kit, respectively. (As someone had already mentioned below my post.) And of course, both are a quite well done model.
If you never watch any Gundam series, don't watch this yet because you will not understand what the hell is going on. (If you are paying attention to the dialogs.) As mentioned before, these clips are just a teaser for Gundam fans and hobbyist.

| I really believe people are being far too harsh and also sometimes really stupid (giving a 1 for animation? What the hell?), but please remember that these are extras for fans. You won't see anything related to the characters because you don't know what the fuck is going on. Take episode 5 for example, how many who hasn't watched Char's Counterattack and know what newtypes are and what they are capable of could understand it?

| These are DVDs that came with the Perfect Grade and massive Dendrobium gundam models if I'm not mistaken...

| I really enjoyed the series, but this is for Gundam fans only, really. There's no character development or plot to be had, so people jumping on will be totally lost without some basis in Gundam lore.

| what I liked about this is it just a bunch of short showing the best battles from some of the best series of all of Gundam remastered and uncut! but what was kind of a downer is thats all it is there is nothing new. it's just a recap, but you don't have to sit through the whole series for the big climax, plus it's a great teaser to others intrested in some series that they have yet to see

| EXCELLENT animation and CG. Probably the best I have ever seen in the mecha genre. Episode 4 had the best action and mecha fighting scene I have ever witnessed.
Aside from the crisp sound and perfected animation, I had to ask myself: What was the point of making this? Five-minute episodes with no purpose.
Admit it, your lungs were about to explode from laughter after watching episode 3.

| This is one of the best surprises ever. Each scene is taken from the gundam universe somewhere. So if you don't know what is what, then you are at a loss, so this does become fans only at a point. However, I watched these raw at first and you can just sit back and watch and enjoy. Especially part five, it is so far the best example of animation in the ugndam universe ever.

| Do not bother to watch this anime if you do not know anything about mobile suit gundam. These five episodes are basically showcases for the five gundams they mention. There are no story elements at all and certain characters are mentioned that are from their respective gundam series.
(Still...the RX 93 Nu Gundam and it's funnels was a blast to watch)

| Errr.. I haven't seen all of it but what I can say that these are just short scenes or additions to some of the original Gundam series, something like short tributes.
Its hard to put a score on each category since each episode is done differently but I have put them down on average.
Yes.... it does help if you have seen some of the original Gundam series to appreciate this more, otherwise you and I think a lot of people here will go WTF?! ^_^
