I think Kita-he is highly underated. People please keep in mind that this is a Shoujo anime; if you don't like Shoujo anime or is a diehard Shounen anime fan, just stay away from this one. It's pathetic to see people gave poor ratings just because it is not his/her cup of tea, please try to be objective.

I like Kita-he a lot. Characters are well depicted and very likable. There are sad moments and happy moments, but at the end of each arc I felt warmth and had a sense of fulfillment. Nice direction and storytelling. Background music was good and fitting, sounds like some Chinese instruments but I forgot the name. However, I wished there were more variety to the music, they played the main piece quite too many times.

Romance is not the main theme of this anime though it had an important role. There are no mindless romances like the ones in, for example, Gundam Seed. The characters, their emotions, and their lives are very real to me. If Kimi ga nozomu eien deserves that high ratings, Kita-he should deserve nothing less.

Can you spell B-O-R-I-N-G?!

This series has absolutely no storyline at all, except to present some random girl's life and make us feel sorry for them. Well, TOO BAD. The main characters (the girls) are annoying, whiny, spoiled, and pathetic. Their voices are sooooooo irritating it makes me cringe whenever tey speak. Not only that, animation is so-so. It seems like ALL the other characters but the main characters are drawn properly. WHATS WITH THE OVER ANGUlAR JAW?!

Then there's the stupid opening song....sigh. the only thing i remotely liked about this anime is the ending song. very sweet and touching.

i wouldnt recommend this to anyone. boring. undramatic. and ROMANCE? WHERE? none of them seem to end up happily ever after and all that shit. seriously. if you want to find out how some other girl can be so whiny and pathetic, watch this by all means. don't bother if you want something less wishy washy though, cos wishy washy sure describes this best. i didnt even bother finishing it. waste of time.

This is rather like Rumic Theatre in terms of layout of the series, it focuses on 6 girls living in Hokkaido and 5 of the girls have 2 episode each, the other has only 1. so expect some loose story telling. This anime mainly focuses on romance.

Now you may be thinking…12 eps, 6 girls, therefore 2 eps each right? No, as I said above, the take up 11 eps, the final eps is a special one (no going to spoil it, but you can probably guess what happens in the last eps)

The middle episodes are where it went a bit flat IMO, the begging was good, and the end was even better, but because I just hate broken series, this was no different, still it’s the best “broken series I have seen and can compete with the other “normal animes.

Art work was good, but for the most of it, nothing extraordinary. There was a very magical moment, which was extremely emotional. But the sound is mostly what brought that emtion to life, the sound in this anime is far superior to others, it has an okay opening them, very good selection of excellent songs for the actually anime, and one of the best ending theme I have ever heard, the ending song gave me the same feeling as Stellvia no Universe’s opening theme, almost.

The characters, mainly the girls were very good, out of the men, there’s about 2 good ones, with one exceptional one who gave a hell of a performance in my books.

Mixed feeling about this as I would have much preferred a more whole anime, I was actually quite disappointed when I found out it was a broken anime after eps 2…

For romance, you got to check this out, if you ain’t a romance fan, this may be more than boring. Whatever I say, this definitely deserves more attention.

I really enjoy this series, as simple and light-hearted as it is. The episodic story-telling doesn't bother, as it's just meant to be enjoyable to watch. I think the person who wrote the description for Kita he on the main page said it pretty well. It's a feel-good anime, so don't expect huge things from it. They knew what they wanted to make, and they did it well.

This is a series that takes a slice out of the lives of 6 girls. Totally different girls, totally different lives, totally different stories.

The stories were ok, but nothing exceptional and gets boring sometimes. There's some chara developement but not much as the each girls get only two episondes and one of them only gets one episode.

None of their lives connects to each other until the final episode, in which only some of them meet briefly, if at all. You'll definately be wondering who some of the girls are at first when you see them in the final episode as they don't reintroduce themselves so you'll have to scratch your head and remember, but it's not like it's important.

It's basically all of them in different lives hope to see this "diamond dust", which is a natural phenomenom which happens in nature. It's just basically ice crystals of mostly the same size that are suspended in air when it's really cold out. They are what causes halos, light pillars, sun dogs, parhelias, and other intersting shows of light, some of which are really interesting and beautiful. If you ever get to see one, they are really nice.

More info can be found here: http://www.sundog.clara.co.uk/halo/diamonds.htm

Anyways, back to the show... The OP song is kinda boring even though it's supposed to be uplifting. The ED song is not bad, but there are parts where it's "whining" which is sort of annoying.

It's not a must see and gets somewhat boring but if you don't have anything else to watch, why not? It doesn't compare at all to Kimi Nozo, Kare Kano, Fruits Basket, or anything like that. It's just a realy light show.

So far quite an enjoyable series. The stories are nice and natural, the characters are very like-able, with truly great character development over the course of the stories. They change and mature as the story unfolds. Although the stories for each character are relatively short, they do a wonderful job of make you feel for the characters and plenty of touching moments. And although romance play important roles in most of the stories, it's never intrusive and all those people have other matters to attend to other than just focusing on romance. My only minor complaint is about the music. It's not that the music is bad, actually the ending song is truly awesome, also the music in the show carries the mood quite nicely. However there's a certain lack of variety, and the opening song is a bit too weird for my liking.

Fantastic. I have no doubt in my mind that this is (at the time of this review) the best anime to come out in 2004. I look forward to the new Kita-he more then any other fansub.

We have all these girls, each with thier own tale. And they all shine. I havn't seen a story I havn't loved yet. This is perfect for the person who wants a "not-so-over-the-top" romance. This anime is true to life.

Everyone owes it to themselves to watch this.

Wow this anime has a corny opening, but I kinda like it. "Soshite step! Kita he jump! And jump! And jump!" w00t. I have a thing for cute retarded songs by girls with cute voices. Animation looks great.

Then there's the bad.... Everything else is pretty bad. In terms of story and character, they take the focus off one character after 2 eps and move onto the next. It builds enough character to want more but the anime ends it. This anime is pretty normal where it talks about everyday life of people in different shoes. I didn't find this one very entertaining mainly because it has no core story... Maybe I'll give this one another shot when there are more episodes. Perhaps all the stories come together. Until then, my verdict will be pretty low.

Mhhhh.

I like this genre, I really really do. I also kinda enjoyed watching the eps, and I really LOVE the ending song. So why only a so-so rating?

Because the stories are so harmless. Yes, nice, sometimes even cute, and slightly unusual (which is good in my opinion), but really - they're simply too short to flesh out a noteworthy plot. So the stories kinda remind me of a seedling which never got the time to grow and develop before it was harvested. Two episodes are too little to get me really emotionally attached, and the problems are not too breathtaking either (though I liked the twist in the second story). Oh, please shoot whoever composed the op song and whoever selected it to be the op. It offsets the wonderful ed.

In a nutshell, watch it if you feel you might be interested, but don't expect anything really deep.

I have seen the first three eps so far and i found it quite enjoyable.

The serie indeed describes at least two girls, i don't know if the story will get them together at some point, but it seems not.

The eps have (as for now) only "diamond dust" in common, which i won't tell anything more about.

The character of the third ep seems to be worked on the most, while the first story was pretty nice too. It's like a feel good animé and made me think of To Heart (which at the moment is the only other feel good animé i can think of:)).

The intro is kind of catchy and the drawing style is nice too, at least i didn't notice the strange things as much as the reviewers before me.

I don;t think there will be a very strong or sentimental story in it, but still it;s well worth watching, if you like the genre, if you don't, don't bother watching it and least of all put up a review which only states 1/1/1/1/1/1 just because you didn't like it, this site is not about having as much reviews as possible, it's just about letting other people know what you think of series.

I await the next episode.:)

Okay... NOW I've viewed episode 3, and my views on this anime, have changed.

The anime still is a very light-hearted, cute anime series.. but now, I just feel that the story is organized too much like a hentai-game... without all the sex scenes of course. [Sick girl, but tall double-aged doctor who looks like her princess comes.. blah blah blah.. .. too hentai-ish organized.. jeez.. it's too... guy and girl.. boring.. love =_=;;;] Plus the 2nd girls story feels so cliche, weak, and boring that it fails to impress. I'm still up there with the animation, but other than that, it's falls onto a pretty average
border.

Ok, from episode one, it makes me expect this anime to be episode by episode meaning there won't be a storyline in the series. It probably will have separate stories of each girl having their problems and then concludes after they solve it. As of the first episode reaction, you know how your not suppose to judge a book by its cover? well sorry I did just that, the main character looked rather young to me like teenage but it seems she is old enough to drive and marry. As far the score, it would change once I see the next episode and preview the 3rd one but as for now it appears there will be multi-stories that have no relation to one another, so watch it if you want.
