| If it was anything else but Golf it would be great, even though I’m not into golf I can se there is too much fantasy in Dan Doh’s newborn skills, maybe if you could see him practise for the to weeks and he was practising 24/7 I might buy some of it.
Practise and hard work, that’s the key ingredients in a good sports-anime, you also need to give the viewer a little more then the basics of the sport to get the viewer interested.
The characters could have used more work, and the background I can’t even comment on that.
The seiyuu is mixed some are nicely fit and some are so misplaced that you think something’s wrong with your hearing.
But it’s a fairly easy to watch and it has its moments, I even laught from time to time.
I only think you need to watch 3 episodes to get a conclusion if this is something you will stick to the bitters or sweet end.
Ps. Im not sure if it’s originaly a game>manga or manga>game.
If it’s more closely based from the game then it makes a lot more sense.
Studio: Tokeyo Kids, gives you an idea.

| The cardinal rule of sports anime should be that it teaches you about the sport. Dan Doh doesn't revolve around golfing as much as it pretends. It can teach you about as much as a round of Mario Golf... actually less.
It also is cursed with the silent snob opponent complex (and the slightly less aggravating stupidly evil opponent complex). This is the symptom of a lack of creativity.
It's nice to see overly talented players blow everyone away without effort, but at least have it so that you learn the extremely complicated and unlikely reasons behind their superhuman accomplishments!

| Neither the animation style nor the op/ed themes appeal to me. Most likely its aimed at a much younger age group.
Sports animes are one of my favorite genres. I like getting caught up in the excitement of the game and the determination of the characters. Dan Doh gives a much different feel. Its like watching someone play Mario Golf instead of the real thing.
Each character seems more than a little bit cliche and I don't see anything redeeming about this.
More to come with the next episode.

| I.. don't like it so far. There's little background to the story and events happen at an almost feverish pace. He gets a "feeling" from hitting one ball? And he wants to get into golf for the money? Ha. Dandoh does indeed already have skill, but Shinjiyou hasn't been shown as helping the trio do anything productive to get better at golf. The driving range scene was it. And all of a sudden, Dandoh hits an amazing tee shot with an iron and, according to the next episode preview, only has three clubs that he can use. Hmm.. so one is an iron, one has to be a putter.. what could the other one be? A wedge? But really, what is the use of only being able to use three clubs during a match? It seems like a stupid handicap to make him look even better with as little experience as he has.
