| Sailor Moon R is more or less the second season of the anime. There's nothing new except some upgraded attacks, a small girl named Chibi-Usa, and the Phantom sisters that are after her. There's also a completely irrelevant "Doom Tree" arc that has nothing to do with plot development or the manga's original story. This season falls pretty flat compared to the first one. There are a lot of unnecessary fillers that become repetitive and annoying. The episodes that follow the real story, however, add some pretty nice plot twists. Still, none of them are good enough to compare with the previous season's story and finale. The finale of Sailor Moon R, in contrast, is weak and unsatisfying. You don't feel like you watched anything that was really that new. There's just a stronger enemy and Usagi has a stronger attack to defeat it. And, as usual, you only see major character development in Usagi. I suppose Chibi-Usa and Mamoru showed some as well, but the other scouts are left behind.
The theme music was as good as ever, but some of the background music in the episodes sounded to sappy for me. I was pretty disappointed with Sailor Moon R, overall. While it's obviously tough to imitate season one's brilliance, the animators could have done a much better job.

| Although it follows the same steps as its predecessor it's still clearly inferior to the first season. Mainly because the episodic monster per the week formula gets on your nerves even more and the old characters are becoming less interesting little by little, while the new characters only bring irritation to you, like the damned chibi-usa or those pathetic phantom sisters...
This season consists of two story arcs: "The Doom Tree" and "Dark Moon clan". I favored the first one over the later, mainly because villains - En and Ali manage to bring a hell of a funny situations, and the Mamoru without his memories still has his supreme, rude attidude towards Usagi.
Well, probably if you've liked the first season you will like this too, but don't expect for this to be better than the previous one, as the final conlusions to the story arcs are by no means brilliant, they still have a long way to go to the brilliance of final conclusion at season labeled as one. Oh, this season is softer than the previous one too, you'll see even less of deaths and suffering of the young soldiers. Creators of this anime were probably thinking of making this anime even more approachable to the underage audiences...

| this season follows up the first. Except that the Arc with the Giant Tree is included. That wasnt in the manga at all.
This season introduces new Scouts and new villains and new story about the Moon Kingdom and the arch villain the Wise Man.
Really a repetition of the first season. Watch it only if you havent watched the first one.

| Well, many didn't like that in this season Chibiusa appeared. I didn't have a problem with her, but with the story: namely, all those time traveling subplots and that wiseman guy were derivative. They simply didn't amaze me like in the previous season. Luckily, the Ail and Anne segment is excellent and has many wonderful episodes ( the Snow White stage show for instance or the jealousy of Anne when Makoto makes lunch for Ail ). That saves this season.

| It's fairly average, a little better than the first series. I only thought the first half of the series based on the Doom Tree episodes were the only worthwhile part of the story, espeically from when the two villains Ail and An were disguising themselves as students, which was funny at times to watch. The romantic part of it though, was a bit odd since I really didn't know if they were having some close intimate relationship with each other. Everything else later on wasn't really as good as I could remember it; not only that Chibi, who was a character that just made the story irritating on her part, even though she did had an important role later on. As for the animation and music, it was just as the same from where they have left it. It's pretty much decent and watchable, for those who liked the first season.

| I will start by pointing out that the first 13 episodes of R, which are sometimes known as "The Doom Tree" series, were not written by Naoko Takeuchi (Sailor Moon's creator) but made up by the studio, following the enthusiasm of one producer for the first movie!
Sailor Moon "R" is a wonderful continuation of the Sailor Moon story.

| Not quite as memorable as the first season, but enjoyable nonetheless. This season had some problems storywise. The whole arc with those two annoying aliens was, well, annoying. I remember liking the way the season started and ended, since I love lost-memories story arcs, plus the second story arc was better than the first. Watch if you enjoyed the first season.

| Taking place immediately after the first season’s end, Sailor Moon R is almost as good as the original, but not quite. It begins much the same way, but with one significant improvement: the villains are much better this time around. Unfortunately, one word is the bane of this series’ existence: Chibi-usa. Lord have mercy on us all.

| The second season of SM. One of my favorites. The storyline is basically the same, but other aspects have evolved nicely.

| I think Sailor Moon R is the second best season, I loved the first part of the season where there was En and An. They were something new and it's too bad they weren't there for too long. Then during this season, we are introduced to a new character. One whom in my opinion is so annoying! But overall, this is a good second season.

| This series does not have the same quality the first series had in its story but it makes up for that with brilliant characters. The dark moon bit of the series has the funniest villain in the four sisters. The doom tree is not as strong a series but it has its good side too. The characters are interesting and the plot development is not as slow paced as the Super S series. Prince Diamond and Sapphire are two of the greatest Sailor Moon characters and they are also in this series. The animation is again not the best of the Sailor Moon series but it is still pretty good and fluid enough. The sound goes down a bit it this series as some of the average music gets reused. The story is interesting though not as good as the first one but it is developed very well and the characters come out looking even better. The value for this series is there as one can go back to this and see why Chibi Usa annoys so many people and why the qualities that made the producers keep her on. The enjoyment is there too although it is not as riveting as discovering the series the first time.

| season 2 i was happy when i bought the s2 box from adv and i watched it in a few days also
animation - as for s1 the animation is still low seeing as how its an older anime but the animation grows on you when you watch it
sound - being in mono sometimes has its bad qualities but you get used to it and it doesnt distract you from the series
story - the continuation of sailor moon with the way sailor moon ended they didnt leave much of an opening for a second season but they did start this one out very nicely i enjoyed the story of this season with new bad guys and new characters
character - as with sailor moon s1 i enjoyed all the chars in this season too you get to know all of them more and get to like them more
value - as with sailor moon s1 each ep had some type of value / moral to it or a leasson so not complaints from me
enjoyment - i enjoyed this season as much as i enjoyed season 1 but this time around they tell you that there will be a season 3 to the series and introduce it quite nicely
overall i really like this series it has a special place in my anime collection and im currently buying season 3 from geneon and trying to complete the whole series
once again any great otaku should have this series in his/her collection
