| There is a lot of effort put into the differing demons in this series, but sadly enough you've got two major problems. One is the animation, but I'd say the biggest problem is the time. The episodes are shorter than usual, and it shows. In the end how devilman finishes off the demons seems always to be the same (devil beam). the series seem more like marvel than japanimation. the music is bad, and stolen. So much more could be done with this it's really sad.

| I dissapointed by Devilman the first time I saw it. After seeing Devil Lady and the Devilman OVA I expected this series to be really good. This was the first 70s anime I saw and I didnt know that it was this old when I got it so I was dissapointed the first time a lot. After watching more old stuff I realized it wasnt bad for its time. The 2nd time time I watched this I enjoyed it more when I wasnt expecting an anime made in the 90s. I had no idea the series was old when I got it, the box had much better art on it than what you see in the series. I liked the much darker and more serious OVA a lot better. But it still isnt bad. The characters are devolped fairly well although they have bad designs but I hate some of them like the teacher. If it had more of a story it might have been better. I dont know why I hated it the first time. I enjoyed it alot more the 2nd time. This isnt a series to take seriously.

| Devilman has a great concept and the original manga is great, however, the TV-show is pretty much a parody of the manga.
The production company didn't want to follow the original story because of all the violence and nudity so they completely rewrote it and made it a 'bad guy of the weak'-show. Then they thought that Devilman wasn't enough of a hero, so they redesigned him too and made him green and gigantic.
However, the show still is somewhat funny and entertaining so I won't say that it's all bad.
