| I could be biased in my review because it's my belief that the "Tenchi" series as a whole really kicked off the anime popculture in the U.S. way back when Tenchi Muyo! first aired on Cartoon Network. That said this series hasn't lost touch with its original roots and was also able to capture the more modern anime style and humor. Though they were able to cram some recap into the 6 episodes, this is not a series for people who know nothing about Tenchi to kick it off (start with Tenchi Muyo!). I very much enjoyed the seemingly random event that unfolded into the final episode which explained much of the unanswered questions in all of the Tenchi series leading up to this one.
Fun short series and great dubbing for the english version too.

| The 3rd Tenchi OVA series is dissappointing until the last episode, which when it happens, it is already too late to save the series.
The animation is great, excellent backgrounds and colouring. The 3D elements actually blends really well into the scenes. The new characters drawing styles does take a while to get use to, but they are all nicely detailed.
The sound is superb, with the original voice cast retaining their old role. But what really stands out is the BGM, which always makes me feeling like I'm watching a movie instead of an anime.
The story is a big let down. With the old OVA full of action and comedies that tightly packed together. This time it just does not feel right at all. The first 5 feels like some comedy slapstick that is quickly thrown together with little plot development. But then the last episode turns everything around with the serious battle and philosophy explanations. The whole series would be miles better if only the first 5 is as good as the last episode.
What I don't get is that with a short 6 episodes, there are too many new characters for this series. There are simply not enough time to introduce and explain the characters' thoughts and reasoning. I really hope that they take out the Mihoshi part, cause that was really unnesscary and stupid.
This turn out to be one of the biggest dissappointment in the Tenchi series. After watching the first 2 OVA and the 3 movies series, this is nothing that I expected. Tenchi did not play a major role at all and none of the old characters (besides Washu) got developed at all.

| Yes, the series is rushed as usual. Tenchi Muyo Ryo-Ohki has a whole world and family tree of characters that is condensed into a confusing 19 episodes that could easily be 100+ episodes in my opinion.
This last entry into the series is especially confusing. The first two parts of the OVA had more emotion in it. After watching it, I still don't really understand it all.
The animation and presentation of this final installment changed a bit from the previous to OVA's. I'd say that it doesn't look bad, but not as good as the first two. The music and sound aren't really up to par either compared to the first two OVA's.
In closing, they definitely could've made this series into a greater one. You should check it out if you are a tenchi fan. Too bad, they can't redo it.

| The beginning of this series is a typical harem anime like the previous series. A new female character appears, and she begins to be attracted by the main character.I felt it boring. However, the story changes dramatically in the last two episodes.
The best thing is that they answered most of the mysteries untold in the previous ones, for example, who in the world Tsunami is, and the relation between her and Jurai. The story itself is not interesting, but I felt content to know the answer. On the other hand, I was sorry that the main female characters such as Ryoko and Ayaka weren't active.
I think the character design becomes worse than the previous series.
I’m not impressed by the sound / music too much.
If you watched the previous series and you like it, you may well watch this one, but I don't recommend you strongly.

| Alright, it's finally here. The long awaited continuation of the Tenchi Muyou OVA saga. TM OVA is my all time favorite series so I had very high expectations from this. However, it didn't turn out quite as good as I expected.
First of all, the first and second OVA series left a whole bunch of questions unanswered, enough of them to fill a whole tv-series. But instead of making an effort to deliver answers we get a whole new set of unanswered questions and are introduced to new characters who are totally redundant. I, at least, want to know what will happen to Ryouko, Mihoshi, Sasami and all other characters which I've come to love. Adding new characters at this point is just stupid.
Also, why is it that the main story only get a part of the first episode and then the last episode? You could almost say that ep 2-5 are just filler episodes.
This series is good, it's just that it could have been so much better with a little more balance. As it is know, the last episode seems very rushed. Events that would probably need 5-6 episodes is crammed into one. When I watched the final episode I had goose bumps but towards the end the story felt so rushed it almost went into an anti-climax.

| Its the same characters as the first 2 OVAs, with some new additions, not to spoil but there are at least 2 new females showing up. My problem with the series is there seems to be too much review and reusing of old footage in the first episode (This review is through ep3). It seems to be heading in a great direction, but the first episode is a big hump to go over. The animation does not seem up to par for an OVA of the modern times, I would expect better animation. The sound seems just fine, and eps 2-3 were very enjoyable. It is too bad the subbers have stopped woorking on OVA 3, so I will have to wait for the dvds. Finally, why is there a picture from Tenchi GXP as the icon? I don't remember seeing them in the OVA.
