| I am not even sure what compelled me to watch this anime. I’m going to leave it at that. I had a great fun laughing at this anime (not with it.) I found this anime a little to girly for even my taste, but what can you do. The battle scenes were okay, but still not enough to help this anime recover. It wasn't that bad for a chick anime, but still not my cup of tea. I do discourage anyone that might have this pop up on their list, just be prepared.

| It was a mostly forgettable mix of harem and mecha that entertained, but defintiely isn't high on my list of series to recommend to friends and family.

| Dual is clearly a parody of Evangelion, with much more humour and much less seriousness than the latter. For those who saw Evangelion and hated the end and the perpetual tension between the characters, this is a must see. It is pretty much an "Evangelion through the fun-looking glasses".
Animation is pretty cool, and remains of equal quality over the episodes, which is a real plus.
Sound is nice as well. Vivid, not overpresent, yet there when needed. It fits well with the action, and the soundtrack is of really nice audio quality.
The story is flowing well. Enough suspense, a few (but not too many) lengths, and a great ending (make sure to see the 14th "Special" episode!) make you want to see all episodes at once. What's more, the story remains very consistent throughout the episodes, and leaves enough space for imagination (especially at the end).
Characters are, well, clearly inspired from their Evangelion counterparts, except that they are how someone reasonnably cool and happy would have wanted them to be! There's also a harem-based in-between conflict involving the main male character. It is sometimes a bit boring, but globally amusing.
Overall, if you want to have a good time, if you don't want to feel desperate and suicidal after watching some psycho-anime, and if you like mechas and SF, it's a must see.
A personnal note: I enjoyed Evangelion, but it somehow "struck" me. It felt really sad and pessimistic in the end. Dual on the other hand feels cool and funny, and doesn't break your mind :-)

| dual is...i would say a generic mecha anime being a parody of evangalion without all the serious stuff. what more is there to say.
the animation is decent. the character design is again generic. nothing to spectacular or hideous.
the story: special needs boy thrown into a chaotic world, forced to fight using robots...hmmm sounds very familiar. however the story is consistent with some plot twists here and there.
the characters involve a harem with the focus all on kazuki. the characters are pretty ordinary. some with a few quirks here and there.
it was an ok anime if you have some time i guess you should check it out.

| Well, This will be short because this anime really doesn't deserve ANY attention at all. It has many elements that I hate about anime in general (like 1000 whiny girls loving one looser guy just because he's the main character).
Animation: extremely lacking in the creativity department, everything looks awfully typical and bland. At least, it wasn't a pain to the eyes.
Sound: Same here, everything from the music to the VA is typical and cheesy to the extreme, but not as annoying as it could have been.
Story: Eva ripoff with no emotion nat all. It tries to take itself less seriously, but it ends up feeling like an insult to human intellegence. The story is just pointless and feels completely supbar.
Characters: I hated ALL of the characters, they are whiny, uninspired, shallow, dull, and annoying. They serve to remind me of the standard prototype of bad characters in anime. The only reason I gave it a 2 instead of a 1 is that I think I've seen worse at some point in my life, though defenitally not many.
I don't think this series deserves any respect, it was tuely a waste of my time, and I need to warn anyone who appreciates creativity to steer away from this .... thing.

| I really enjoyed Dual. This was my first tiem seeing battle robots, ah then again, don't we all enjoy our first time at something? This was my first formal intro to robots that battled, and ones that only accpeted female forms made it that much more funny to see Kazuki dress and sound like a female. Truly an excellent english va cast too, it was aired on TechTV back in 2003, on their popular Anime Unleashed hour. Overall, it's great if you have the spare time to watch, if not, then don't worry, it will always be around in the future *wink*

| Dual is anime that I like. I like Dual and I have strong sentiment for this series. With regret then I must inform You, that it's not a series I would recommend to someone to be thoroughly impressed. In fact, if it is about impression, I would've very carefully avoided *mentioning* that I like Dual, because after hearing that, any normal person could be only impressed... with my bad taste. So while my personal viewing of the anime has *somewhat* boosted both ENJOYMENT and VALUE (yeah, I rewatched it three times already) I still can see how flawed it is, and thus my ratings on other cathegories, especially STORY. While definitely story makes it no more than mecha-harem anime, one in the crowd and nothing really more, characters are my reason for liking the series mostly. Well, second reason. First is that Dual delivered what I was looking for, and when I was looking for. Humour, lighthearted tale and relief after NGE, with reasonable amount of action and NO fanservice. While easily one can see some ripoffs from NGE, still it has greatly improved lead characters, whom I found likeable. What a refreshing change, cause after NGE and Shinji&Asuka duo I discovered I got severe alergy to all mecha anime.

| It first starts out as an interesting Wannabe-Evangelion story with "humanoid" mechas just like Eva. Soon after the hero crossed the parallel barrier, as the "comedy" starts, it seems that every girls is on him. Hell, the story ends up here.
Animation wise, it's just pretty standard. Does the job and KUDOS to the robot and monster design I really liked it.
As for sound, it's shouting all the way, gives you headeaches and the music isn't really helping the story...
Character devellopment tries to mimic the cowardiness of the hero (like Shinji) but fails. The girls are cute but always end up fighting over the hero. Bad caracters.
The anime tries too hard to be funny. But it fails miserably.
Some really bad story for a Mecha anime. If you want to watch a funny Mecha anime, go fetch yourself Vandread or Nadesico, just stay away from this shit. If you want some good Mecha anime, go see RahXephon (a pretty good Eva-Wannabe anime) or even Gundam Wing!!!

| Although Dual starts out with an interesting premise, it quickly becomes just your average mecha anime.
Episode one serves as a hook as it thrusts the protagonist into what seems like a violent, conflict ridden world where giant robots duke it out. You may soon find that to be a false pretense.
Dual is more of a comedy, almost teetering towards a harem comedy, which uses the mecha combat as more of a backdrop.
During the first four episodes, the show really seems to build up a bit of steam in the story department. However as the show goes on, the cliche & predictable humor builds. The conflicts never build to the scope where you worry or really care about the characters. You more or less just sit there either amused or bored by the goings on.
Thats not to say Dual is a bad show. Just not one that will ever prove a landmark within the genre or the art. It is however a fun series of 13 episodes plus a special.

| A very enjoyable variation of the Tenchi/harem genre. I've enjoyed this much much more than Tenchi which was also lots of fun. I can't get enough of it.

| To be honest I watched this after eight weeks of boot camp. Nevertheless I found this series to be enjoyable, I was able to laugh out loud without fear of being dragged out to the Quarterdeck to join the Hour of Power.
Is the storyline over used, perhaps; are the mechas orginal, no, but what do you expect from something akin to Tenchi Muyo anyway?
If you watch this with the mindset that this is not serious and it is supposed to be funny then you will enjoy it. If you want something akin to Evangelion look else where (You have been warned this series will not vindicate one's selfish whining).
The idea of a parallel universe is intruiging at first but in the end you get a classic Disney like ending (try and guess). The Mechas are neat, but I find that having high heels is an engineering disaster that no sane designer should use (unless you plan on trampling the opposition to death).
Did I walk away with a smile, indeed I did. Did I end up angry and pissed, no. Then again I never did have high hopes of finding something profound, I already got that beat into my mind.
Onward and upward!

| Well, here we go with yet another chapter of the Tenchi Muyo sagas, albeit a rather tenuous one connected only by the presence of the Lighthawk Wings.
Like the numerous other Tenchi tales, this series revolves around one boy and his indecisiveness in picking a lover from numerous girls obviously interested in him. However, in this series, rather than throw in space aliens and demons, they add in interdimensional travel tied with the live action cult classic B-movie, Robot Wars, in which areas of the world were fought over by a pair of dueling robots, with no other warfare or conflict occuring on the planet.
Overall, I found this series a bit more enjoyable than the numerous Tenchi series, since the Tenchi author finally started adding a few extra layers of cardboard to his typically two-dimensional characterizations.
Give it a spin, it makes a good comical break from the dramatic stuff.

| Duel is an O.K. mech./Sci-Fi show. There is an interesting group of characters in this show. Also the other aspect of the story the "parallel worlds", adds to the appeal of this show initially. To find out more read my review.

| Before I begin I would like to say something...
What is all of these comparisons with cartoons like Mecha "Evagelion", Fighting "DBZ"??!!! I think it is sad just because these anime series were one of the first to be shown to mainstream America of late doesn't mean that other animes have to be subjected to indiscriminate comparisons.
Why don't you people compare Evagelion to "Hades Project"?! Or those animes that fire spectacular volley's of missiles as a "Macross" rip off?!
Ahem* Now with that out of the way, lets review this anime ^_^.
Dual was a fairly interesting series with a range of interesting characters and a story line.
The animation was consistent and solid for the most part, with little errors.
The sound was pleasant and suited the series well. I particualary liked the OP/ED songs ^_^.
The story was like I said, very interesting. Parallel Universe and Reality is definately a concept that not many animes have attempted to explore. The ending left an open feeling for the end, which I thought was quite appropriate, albeit a bit silly. The story well not ground breaking was strong enough to sustain the viewers for the duration of the show.
The characters were all interesting, and I particulary enjoy how some of the characters are shown on a parallel setting.
Overall this anime is an enjoyable series, while not all can be taken serously, this anime is an enjoyable sit back and relax type of show.

| I didn't expect much from this anime, since most people said it was childish, simple and a copy of evangelion.
But I liked it! This a series made to be enjoyed and don't bother yourself thinking too much: just watch and laugh.I liked the characters, too.
To sum up, a comedy with light-romance and action. I had a great time watching it and I think it deserves a try. The animation is pretty well done.
(And the evangelion similarities are just superficial, thanks god!).

| Tenchi Muyo meets Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Then add a dash of Pokemon...
I really really disliked Dual. I found it vapid, mentally dulling, and very, very annoying.
Whatever my personal reasons for my disliking Dual so much, it is objectively an extremely poorly executed anime series.
In my view it does not even make for a decent kids' show, as it is such a bad anime overall.

| I don't see its connection to Eva. I mean, there are mechas in it, but that doesn't mean it has anything to do with Eva. Its just how this genera works. Much like how not all Magincal Girl stories are Sailor Moon rip-offs. The genera was there before the story was done.
On with the review!-
The mechas were too cute for my liking, and I find the concept of tons of cute girls living with one normal guy too over done in any genera. Damn fan boys! There is nothing outstanding about this title, but it wasnt horrible either. It does have some good laughs in it, and I still enjoyed the title as a whole though. I'm easy to please I guess ^_^.

| A good idea gone bad right after the 1st episode (or even halfway through the 1st episode).Relativly short, still i can see the entire plot fit into 3 or 4 episodes. They Should've Made the plot alot darker and could've skip the stupid episodes with kazuki in school and home and all.Animation was good, sound was decent. The DVD translation is one of the worst ever (i hate it when they try to make it all 'american conversation' like. That's just wrong).Characters were nice and cute, and even the 'evil' characters were comical (this is a bad thing,of course). All in all,not a big whoop.
