| i watched "Maria-sama ga Miteru ~Haru~" because i realy liked the first season... but i think you cant realy see MSGM Haru as a second season or a sequel. its more like 1 anime with 26 episodes scince the firsts eason doesnt realy have an ending and MSGM Haru doesnt realy have a beginning it pretty much catches up where season 1 ended.
having said that ill get to the anime itself now.
Maria-sama ga Miteru is in my opinion a nice and heartwarming story, i had alot of fun watching it.... untill the last few episodes. dont get me wrong the ending wasnt bad at all, its just that i expected to much of it. the ending was a bit to short for my atste, so im realy looking forward to the OVA.
the animation is realy good, at least i like the style.
the only thing i had to complain about the sound is, that i personaly dont like that church-style music. but apart from that it fits pretty well to the anime.
story and character, well its totaly difrent from all the animes i watched so far, and i realy liked it.

| The story follow the Maria-Sama time period. Everything is the same as in the prequal untill around ep.5 where 3rd years student graduated from Lilian High School. After than we'll see a couple of new character introuduces to fill the hole that other left behind.
Thing start to get interesting becuase it seem like history seem to repeat itself. There're a lot of flashback that happen before and the same thing will happen to the char as it happened to the old chars. Opening ep. always come the troubles and then solves with in or next later in ep. Althou I don't think new char really fit in anywhere near the old char but they make it through somehow.
I really like to see they got back together somehow bcuz the ending was a little bit cut. I but i guess it's ok since Yumi starting to look like 2nd year student(finally) and everyone doing fine. Sign* I really want to see who Yumi and Yoshino choose to be their little sister, but guess I have to fantasic myself in a dream.

| I love MariMite. Since that is the case, then why am I reviewing the sequel so long after it's aired? Simple - it angered me. We all knew episode 5 was coming, and what it meant. No one knew that it would be so poorly done, with awful animation, and an overall rushed feeling. In any case, after episode 5, I had no desire to watch MariMite for a long, long time. But then the urge comes again. The urge to see something so brilliant, so understated, that you just have to give in and watch. After episode 6, things started picking up again, with the introduction of a new character, and improved animation quality, it became the MariMite I knew and loved. All I can say is that this better not be the end of the anime. The ending left me extremely dissatisfied, and wanting a MariMite ~Natsu~. Come on people, you all know you want a swimsuit episode! In any case, watching MariMite before this is a MUST, since the characters aren't as developed in ~Haru~, and it's SUPPOSED TO BE THAT WAY. This is basically episodes 14-26 of the original. On it's own, it's not as brilliant, but it's what we all already know and love dearly. More MariMite, no matter how many times the animation quality fluxuates, no matter how many times it falsely pulls on your hearstrings, no matter how over the top the drama is, it's characters shine through, making MariMite (as a whole) one of the best dramatic, character driven anime ever.

| It's hard to imagine not liking Maritime esp if you liked the first season. This is one anime I just can't say 'no' to.
The same tranquility that would take over me while watching in the first season is still there. Thankfuly, it's not 'more of the same' as the Spring season tries its best to tie up loose ends and sends off original sempais to adulthood.
The younger generation (read: Yumi) learns, matures and takes over the guidance role.
Nothing else to add in this bland review except to direct you to my review of the Maria sama first season.

| MSGM Haru is a disapointment if you liked the first season. Its just a sequel, directly after the end of the first season. Characters are the same mostly addition of few new students. Everything revolves mostly around Yumi. Since I just barely enjoyed the first season, this is worse. Unless you trully like it then you will enjoy this as it offers more of the same thing.

| ~Haru~ picks up right where the first season of Maria-sama Ga Miteru left off. Not much has changed for this season, so if you were a fan of the first season, you will like this one as well. In ~Haru~, the 3 Roses graduate, and so in saying goodbye to them (although we do see 2 of them again, and 1 of them on a fairly regular basis) we are also introduced to a few new characters who fit right in with the series.
The animation is nearly identical to the first season, although there seems to be a bit more detail to go around for the backgrounds as well as the characters. The sound is a step up from the previous season; not only is the background music used more effectively, but it seems to be a bit better as well. Vocals were added to the opening as well, which is a nice addition.
The story is still all about the characters, although I feel that it seems to have lost some of the focus that it had in the first season. Rather than spotlight Rosa Gigantea, and Yumi and Sachiko’s relationship, it tries to give all characters some attention. This works well in developing the other characters who we saw little of in the first season, but it also means we see less of the characters we had come to love most.
~Haru~ is not quite as good as the first season, but it is still an excellent series and fans of Maria-sama Ga Miteru need not worry that it will fail to meet their expectations. It is a worthy follow-up to the first season.

| The new season has tweaked up their art style a little bit more, and characters do get a little more detail than the first season, so you can say that the first season was a success so that they put more thoughts and minds into this season. Finally they have added vocal part for the OP and ED songs, and that's another plus for the sound category. They have picked someone who does not sing too "happy" as in "genki" or "energetic school girl voice" so it fits the mood of this anime. It sounds very elegant.
The story builds off from the first season, and one can already see this season coming with the ending of the 1st season since it leave on a note that could be further developed. Since this anime is base on a manga that is based on a novel in Japan, we can hopefully see a 3rd season coming. The first season basically introduces all the characters and developed the relationship between Yumi (the main character) and her Older sister Sachiko.
However this season elaborates on the minor characters, it shows us the other side of the 3 head roses and it is very neat to watch because if you are a fan of season 1, you will love this season as it develops into a more complex web of relationships. The 2nd half of this season focuses on how they deal with the new comers of the school (1st years) since their older sisters have graduated. As the plot goes into around episode 9 and 10, the drama between Yumi and Sachiko has come back and it is ver enticing to watch. They are at the point where they were about to renounce their sisterhood! Watch this anime to find out what happened at the very end!
I love the characters, espeically Shimako and Yumi, and of course I love the others as well, so it deserves a 10. I had fun watching this series since I am a fan of the 1st, don't miss out if you are a fan aslo!

| Maria-sama is somewhat of a cult-classic, and a show I ended up falling in love with despite what I had thought about it prior to watching. Being able to fansub ~Haru~ was a blast, but the show itself didnt leave the mark that I had hoped it would. Most of the upbeat atmosphere of season 1 is gone, as right off the bat we have the graduation of the roses, and the confusion to fill the gap in the Yamayurikai. In addition to that, the Shimako-Noriko scandal along with the communication issues that come up between Yoshino\Rei and Yumi\Sachiko lead to some solem episodes. Now, this could be expected as high school life isn't all about fun and games. Serious issues come up, as they do here, and are dealt with in the good old marimite way. The ending wraps things up pretty well, sort of like season 1, although there's plenty of room for more (there's much more story yet to cover in the novels). All in all, it's more maria-sama. And afterall, when she's watching you, yuri hijinks are sure to follow.

| The second installment of the MariMite anime is a nice improvement over the original 13 episodes. Its sole intent is to continue the story where it stopped, which means that if you didn't like the first season, you don't have to bother with the second. Though I still don't know how such a slow paced anime appealed to me, it's still an anime I would recommend, if shoujo doesn't offend you of course ;)

| (Review written after the first five and a half episodes. Convince me that the series improves and maybe I'll watch the rest; otherwise, I'm sure I've seen as much as I need to.)
As I watched this series, all I really felt was confusion for why I liked the first thirteen episodes as much as I did. Granted, I wasn't wild about them, but they were pleasant and overall cathartic experiences. This season, however, really demonstrates what a dysfunctional premise the series is actually employing. The only real valuable thing about Maria-sama Ga Miteru ~Haru~ was that it helped me to finally pinpoint the reasons why I wasn't quite ecstatic over the first season.
First we come to realize that the characters really aren't going to work for another thirteen episodes. Yumi finally managed to prove to me why I didn't like her very much; she is helpless, over-obsessive over stupid nonsense and agitatingly weepy. Everything she does, naturally, revolves solely around her beloved Onee-sama without a single thought in her own interest. And of course if something defies this single-minded itinerary then the viewer is kindly treated to ten minutes of Yumi angst. Sachiko still imposes her empty personality on us, leaving the viewer wondering why Yumi is so obsessed with her in the first place. Rosa Foetida finally receives a basic backstory, but unfortunately all it really tells us is that her family has a sister complex. Yoshino and Rei are underplayed as typical, and Shimako has little to say for herself.
The most fatal blow to the Marimite canon, however, is Rosa Gigantea's absence. Bidding the one compelling character in the series goodbye was a bad move from the start. So with her gone, there is no one to fill her spot as the actual likeable character, the one who can deign herself to escape the stifling formalities of Lillian and have a little fun with the series. We do get to see a little more of her in flashbacks explaining how she and Shimako met, but due to her departure in the first place these are primarily obsolete. (The flashback itself, unfortunately, is blatantly stupid. We get no rationale for Rosa Gigantea's weird outbursts and Shimako's tight-lipped naivete.)
And unfortunately, this irrational selfishness is basically what the series is operating on...and HAS operated on, for the past 13 episodes. All of the drama is extremely interpersonal, and for the most part very selfish, because all of these girls live in an ideal fantasy world where the only things that go wrong are the ones that compromise the fiber of their perfect lives. The drama is always episodic, and there lies Marimite's biggest issue; there is no sense of a pressing urgency or need to watch the series AT ALL. It was a little nice meandering along with Yumi and the girls for the first thirteen episodes, but 26 in total is not going to cut it. That's way too much time spent on little or no conflict whatsoever. Sure, it can be nice to create that kick-back sort of atmosphere, but not for so long and not on this sort of scale. Here it just means there's nothing for the characters to do, and with such a large cast how does this befit them at all?
The show didn't need a second season, and it certainly didn't need one that's as hollow and unimproved as this. Even the animation and sound have not made so much as a single step up, except for Ali Project's desperate attempts to knock me out with their OP. Not recommended, unless you really liked the first season.

| I love the first season of Maria-sama ga Miteru series and Haru does meet my expectation. Although I still like the first season a little bit more, Haru does have many interesting points. It tells us more about each character and their past that lead to who they are and how they behaved. It also introduces two new main characters. Some episode seems a little too slow while some seems to be like it was rushed to finish in the time constrain, especially the last scene.

| the story line is origanal to my knowledge. very creative characters, nice and rounded and i am speaking of there personality not there shape. which i must say is very good, haha;) a lot of girls in this anime. i must say this anime was refreshing for me, the anime i usally watch are dark, gory, horror animes, like ninja scroll, puppet master sakon, and hellsing, ect. but i am starting to watch more happy kind of anime. and this is along the lines of those. so if you like animes like love hina, ect this will be a favorite.

| Another season of "Maria-sama ga Miteru." I thought the first season is the end of story. This time, somehow different then last season, focus more in the sorority rather then just a sister pair. Also, for this review, I shall pull back what I said about Yumi in my character review for the first season. At first, I thought she was just a constant worrier that wonder if her sister really loves her or not. In this season, however, she changes from a constant worrier to more frequent. This time is not just about Sachiko anymore, but the other member of the sorority too!! That wasn't the worst, I had seem that this character was repeating the same mistakes I did when I was in High school, and it is a shame to see Yumi heartbroken because of Sachiko. I can definitely understand what she've been through and it hurts me to see her like that. Here, we can see that become too dependent to one person is not a good thing. Yumi was being too dependent to Sachiko and somehow looks like Yumi will die by heartbreak if Sachiko left her for another girl. We can see this phenomenon in later episodes. I also glad to see how she resolved her problem and yield to a happy ending. I am happy for her, and it is a shame that I could not be able to do that.
Same as the first season, I can not get to like this series until later episodes. I guess it is my disfavor of the episodes arrangement by the staff, that I found the beginning pointless but feeling more watchable at the end. Some characters were continued to develop. We can see how Sachiko and others to keep the sorority in shape after their elder were graduated, and what had happened in the sorority. At least, characters developed better in this season, since I could not understand what happened at the first season. Also, I can not understand the structure of the sorority until this season. Maybe this season has less characters so I can be able to follow who is who. First season had failed to do that.
In general, not bad. Recommended to people who had seem the first season. Nice school drama afterall that I can be able to follow. (Maybe some other can follow the first season.) Easier to digest then the first season. So for people who had seem the first season, feel free to check it out.

| The 2nd installment of the Maria series. I think this season is more intresting then the 1st so far. Its a joy to see how well Yumi has adjusted to the other members of the Yamiyurikai. Whats even better is that they made Rosa Gintantea (Sei the blonde yankee) more of a main character! She is like a Rhyoko(Tenchi Muyo/Universe) with more class. The first couple of episodes deals with Yumi haveing to say her final goodbyes to the three head roses. We also get to see the other two roses interact a little more with Yumi, but the other two really don't bring as much entertainment as Rosa Gintantea does when shes interacting with Yumi. Sachiko, Yumi's onee-sama is still beatiful like a Japanese princess but still boring and bossy. I really enjoy how Yumi with her care and sincerity wins the admiration from the other members of the Yamiyurikai. Just like the 1st 13 I was rarely bored, but with these first 4 from the 2nd season I was never bored becasue of Yumi and Rosa Gintantea! Great Anime brought to you by Ayu!

| This show picks up basically where the first season left off. The seniors are graduating and new freshman are coming in, so we have to say goodbye to some characters and meet new ones. The magic of the first season carries over wonderfully into this one. Another well done shoujo show with wonderful characters.
Overall Grade: B+

| Continuation of the first, right after Christmas.
This second season is much better, with a little more spunk in everyone. The story seems to move in a faster pace, and it seems to put a little more in character developement. The characters seems to talk a little more, instead of staring off into space, smiling at each other =)
Animation is about the same, or maybe slightly better. There is now lyrics in the OP, which seemed to give it a little more life.
If you liked the first series, you'll like this even better.
