The last of the Happy Lesson series and finally, before it went worst, it stopped before getting very stale.

This last 3-episodes pretty much tries to develop a (predictable) relationship between Chitose and Mitsuki, and in some respects, it was good, but in another view point, it was terrible. Though the basis of the whole anime was about family and mamas, the last 3 episodes pretty much concentrated on love relationship and intererstingly a love-triangle develops.
Though the idea is there and effort is there, the execution is flawed as the whole series diverts from a normal crazy, humour-like anime to a much more serious based show with flaws that feels as though it doesn't belong with the Happy Lesson series.

HL had a potential in its series but fundamentally trips up many times before gaining any ground at all, its not a bad anime at that, just desperately average and predictable for some people, but thankfully, not a dull anime so it can't be watched.

Overall, 6/10
Grade: C

I just didn't feel the same...vibe, as compared to Happy Lesson Advance. While everything from Advance was there, I just didn't find myself enjoying it as much. While it did bring closure, the VERY last part of the ending...was not only terrible and made no sense, but it was quite disturbing.

animation was good, however. sound, no complaints. story was, as i have said before, a bit forced..but I'll let it pass. Characters were good. This show obviously has a lot of value to me because it was like an important piece of the puzzle I needed...and not so much on enjoyment, reason stated above.

This is the last part of Happy Lesson ( T . T ).... The animation is different to the other two sequals, the changed the way one of the teachers is drawn. The sounds still the same.

The story is a little too fast and rush at the end, but i wasn't really expecting that type of ending. The cool part is that they explained the names of the characters, which they are all tied together buy the red string of fate. ^ ^

The characters still have thier own personality, likes and dislikes, which makes it good. I stilled enjoyed the anime a lot and recommend it to everyone to watch it, since is only 3 episodes

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! The conclusion to this series fell completely flat. Kind of like how Love Hina went from a really funny heartwarming (ecchi) manga and completely truncated/bastardized it into the TV series and Love Hina Again.

I thought that Happy Lesson, as a continuous series (OAV, TV, Advance, Final) was actually pretty below average. But there was something compelling about it--I thought that something might come of it that would make me watch this somewhat worth it and tie it all together. (i.e. explain exactly why a bunch of women decide to horn in on Chitose's racket and run every aspect of his life) I was beginning to feel a little vindicated watching HL-Advance, so I thought I was on to something!

...BUT, while it KIND of addresses a few things, the ending was an absolute let down. And a little creepy, if you really really think about it.

My recommendation: if you dropped that shoulder and already tackled all of Happy Lesson except for Final, then go ahead and do it--it's not all THAt long. Just brace for impact and clench those sphincters.

Again, for some reason, I love anything and everything Happy Lesson. It's still not that good a show. The story is STILL just a miserable excuse to mash 5 women with one guy. And yet, I LOVE IT.

It just makes you feel good when you watch it. It's so light-hearted and harmless, that you can watch it anytime, no matter how you are feeling. Against my better judgement, I recommend at least trying this show. Start with HL, and go in order through Advance and Final, since it's continous. I just can't help it. IT'S TOO MUCH FUN TO WATCH.

I'm not affraid to admit to anyone that I've been a big fan of the Happy Lesson anime installments. They've been really funny, had a nice mix of characters, a little bit of drama mixed in with the insane happenings with the Mamas, as well as being a harem-type show that isnt about how many chicks the guy can get it on with. It's got a heartwarming family theme behind it that is relaxing to watch. Having said that I was thrilled to watch another OVA, one that should bring the story to a close, seeings as it is "The Final". This ova doesnt have much comedy in it. It focuses almost exclusivly on bringing the small drama aspects of the series to the big picture and uses a couple new plot themes to tie up as many loose ends as possible. Chitose and the class rep girl have the first portion of the story, while it concludes with the undisclosed love between Chitose and Fumitsuki. While it was good to finaly see those two come out of the closet with their feelings for oneanother, it did seem rushed. This is more of a treat for the long time fans then anything else. HLTF isnt out to win over a new audience and would probably turn first-time viewers away from the series as a whole. For those of you who have stuck with all the installments this provides as nice of a conclusion as you'd expect.

If you liked the Happy Lesson series for their psychological and dramatic contents, you're likely to enjoy this last installment too. If you enjoyed them only for the "happy" aspect, you probably felt that as the series advanced there was less of that and more of the drama. "The Final" confirms this.

I have mixed feelings about this one. On one hand there was an interesting development and finish for the series, on the other there were some really stupid goof-ups that spoiled it for me.

I liked how they pulled off the ending (no spoilers if I can help it). It took some effort to picture it in a way that can be accepted and for the most part they succeeded. But there are a number of let-down's I've noticed.

A personal pet-peeve of mine is Mutsuki's character. I find the way she chooses to suffer in silence when she's got a problem extremely annoying. She just keeps to herself while being clearly very distressed and refuses communication, while everybody around her worries to death. It pisses me off.

Second, it's Fumitsuki. Throughout the series, her undisclosed love for Chitose was an important part of the plot. You'd expect something to come out of it one way or another since this was the end of the series. But the outcome was such a dissapointment. It was a complete anticlimax, awarded only a few short minutes of the story. Fumitsuki's reaction was so... cold and unnatural, she adjusted so quickly to the situation, I don't think her reaction was depicted normally at all.

Third, the main part of the plot development. As I said above, I thought it was pulled of nicely, that is, until you look into it more closely. It was a hefty bit unexpected, at least for me. The screenwriters spent a lot of time and effort along this series to make the strange relationship between Chitose and his five voluntary mothers acceptable to the viewer. And now they tear it down only to build it again differently. This is hard to do, especially in only three episodes.

It could have been OK, too, except they took it too far. The final scene on the balcony was oh so close to being fine. But no. They had to add a completely stupid and lame development and ruin it. Sigh.

There was another point of view from which the story wasn't quite ok. There were two important relations where Chitose was concerned, his mothers and Fumitsuki. A conclusion should've settled things with both. It would've been complicated and would've taken longer than 3 episodes, I think. So what they did is they cut short the Fumitsuki part and concentrated on the other. That didn't sit well with me.

Fourth, it was the reunion. I knew there had to be a reunion, it was the conclusion of the series after all. They could've just had people turn up normally, without a fuss and just say "Hi!". But no, they had to blow it all out of proportion by making them appear suddenly and unexpectedly in relation to a fight which started out of the blue against equally unexpected enemies. I think it was supposed to be one of Kanna's pranks, but it's not very clear and besides, Kanna usually had some kind of ulterior motive for doing things, while this is completely gratuitous and silly.

That's how it is, a good underlying plot messed up with childish suprising developments. I personally think they should've taken their time and add a few more episodes, or at least tone down on the stupid scenes. Whether this was an unfortunate choice from the screenwriters or they had to hurry things due to being on a 3-episode budget, I don't know, but that's what turned up. A somewhat messed up ending instead of a great one.

So there you have it. In light of the previous shows I for one am willing to cut "The Final" some slack and find acceptable explanations for why some things turned up this way. It's a good watch in spite of the shortcomings and perhaps it was just my personal taste that wasn't satisfied. Short of making my own ending, I'll have to accept this one and just point out again that I consider it a bit lower quality and enjoyment than the other 3 parts, but that it has it's redeeming qualities as well.

This is a worthy conclusion and if you liked the other HLs, you'll probably like this one too.

Oh, and get the Static-Subs subs, A-keep's subs are bad, they even contain terrible tl errors :o

This is the end of the Happy lesson series. 3 story OVA, though not that well done, just meager, as the rest of the HL series.
The story really does not pick up anywhere leading to the end, but the anime manages to make an ending nice enough to see it.
As having HL TV and HL ADvance this makes a worthy collection, to sum it up. Some scenes are taken from the previous anime, but nothing to disrupt the story.
