| Contrary to popular opinion, I reckon that GSD was better than Gundam SEED. This is a irect sequel to Gundam SEED, with essentially the same staff, so the characters will essentially be similar to those in SEED.
I good watch, and more epic than Gundam SEED, though clearly lacking in the animation area, as the majority of the budget was spent on fancy singers for the OP/EDs.

| I've only started watching this but it's so painfully similar to Gundam Seed it hurts. If you don't want me to spoil the all original beggining then don't read on. 3 brand new Gumdams stolen, but left behind is the even better Gundam which is to piloted by a Kira lookalike with red eyes, new? The new evil Rah Le Creuset is born again as another mask wearing long blonde whos swapped with mu for his old mobile armor and the new mu also with blonde hair which he's seem to have grown, has got Le Creusets old dodgey mobile suit, and guess what they can sense other, ohh so painful. The only difference so far seems to be that this is all happening at one of the plants, wow amazing scenary change, and i was hoping it was going to start at Orb again... So far i'm very disapointed, Gundam Seed was actually quite enjoyable and i'm not a big mecha fan, though i will watch on and hope to see a dramatic change in the plot.
------------------------------------------------
I have watched more now and it seems to be getting better, the start is much to similar but at least the story is heading in a slightly more original direction, it's not anything amazing though Gundam Seed was alot better so i'd have to give it a 6-7 out of 10

| Everything has already been said and discussed about Gundam SEED Destiny a long time ago and in the reviews here. Instead, I will use analogy to show what I think about/what Destiny is like. Minimal spoilers for other series ahead; proceed with caution (don't worry - my list of bad sequels isn't very big).
Destiny is like School Rumble Second Season:
-Both are disappointments compared to the original.
-Both have characters going around in circles.
_-Athrun's regression; Shinn being constantly manipulated back and forth; Lunamaria's romantic interests lies where?
-Both start out great and lose steam half way through.
-Both keep the original's appeal, yet it diminishes as the series continues.
_-Destiny had the same sort of intensity SEED had, but not to the same magnitude. SR's comedic value dropped in the second season.
Destiny is like Zero no Tsukaima II:
-Both are disappointments compared to the original.
-Both dive off a cliff.
_-In ZnTII, Saito had it all going in the novels, but J.C. STAFF did an AWFUL job on animating where he fights 70000 soldiers. Destiny had a really shitty ending, putting it into even more shit than it already was putting itself into at the 3/4 point.
-Both had similar episodes to the original.
_-ZnT's porno and II's... I forgot, but it was pointless filler. Destiny has way too many to count.
-Both had the main character's pimping ability lowered substantially.
_-Queen Henrietta is fucking ROYALTY, but Saito couldn't tap it. Though the Queen doesn't go away, Destiny's Stella (though I sorta like her, she's too childish) fell off a cliff. Athrun's harem also fell off a cliff as he failed to tap all the hot girls around him. One even left him!!
-People don't die when they are killed.
_-ZnTII doesn't really apply here... technically Wales is some clone thing, and Saito obviously will make it out. But Destiny just destroyed itself with this category COMPLETELY. Characters don't stay dead!!!
-In relations with that, characters wear plot armor.
_-Example: Jesus Yamato. Also applies to Athrun.
Destiny is like Mahoromatic ~SmB~:
-Both are disappointments compared to the original.
-Both dive off a cliff (a.k.a. GAINAX'd).
-Both had something near the end take over the show.
_-Example: Jesus Yamato.
I think those are all the bad sequels I have on my list as of this current time. I'm sure you'll entertain yourself by finding more analogies.

| Gundam Seed Destiny is another look at the SEED universe with additional characters and a frighteningly unoriginal seeming storyline. This time the story starts from the Zaft perspective when suddenly three Gundams are stolen by unknown (Natural) pilots. The story then follows as Zaft chases the thiefs (sound familiar yet).
Though the plot line is quite predictable at times and you pretty much know how it has to end, it is a decent watch for those that liked Seed. The new gundams look pretty nice as well.

| Gundam Seed was fun to watch after episode 25, the major flaw being that the ending was too rushed. So when I realized that there was a sequel, the only thing which I could say was "Yeah, Gundam Seed desperately needs a sequel all right." The original series just dealt with the final war and no epilogue as to what would happen now that there was a clear victor (was there really one?). Set up two years after the original series destiny starts off with a side story incident which happened in the nation of ORB. Over here we are introduced to a young boy called Shion who loses his family making him into a hardliner and a stubborn individual. After this the series skips and starts off with 4 mechas stolen from PLANT (Don't Gundams have keys???) which starts a chain of events which start increasing tensions on both sides.

| Human emotions are frail, they are fast to betray both you and others. Why do wars exist? Are they they the product of emotion? Certainly. Then to create a perfect world, free of wars, we should strip humans of all their ambition, anger or lust, delete their emotions. That is the Destiny plan and that is whan Gundam Seed Destiny is all about.
Unfortunately Destiny is barely a shadow of its predecessor. While thankfuly it doesn't repeat the same message as Gundam SEED and tries to show another side of the coin, that the world without fighting would be a dead and blank world, it still feels somewhat cheap in comparison with the previous instalment. Probably the most annoying thing in Destiny is its unnecessary similarities, or rather rip-offs of Seed. I mean, some elite group of young pilots stealing their enemies' Gundams is pretty original and cool, but it's not when it happens two times in a row. Do all pilots have to steal a robot to pass their piloting exams or something in this world? Anyway, besides those minor annoyances the story of Destiny is quite good, actually, fighting wise it might be even superior to its predeccesor. While the first half of the original were boring skirmishes between Gundams, this time around all the fighting is already exciting and conclusive from the very beginning. What dragged the series down quite a bit though was the least expected factor from Sunrise, characters. Not only they've reused Kira, Lacus and Athrun, who have supposedly completed all their goals in original Seed, but also most of the new characters are either flat and non developing or simply annoying.
Recommendation is pretty much self-explanatory. If you've loved original Seed you'll probably like destiny and if you didn't like original that much, then you'll probably hate Destiny. Chose however you wish, just remember, don't expect something as good as the original.

| Gundam Seed Destiny is a huge let down from it's predecessor. The story is crap compared to Gundam Seed. The protagonist, Shinn Asuka had almost no character development through out the series, and it's probably one of the lest liked protagonist in gundam history (for me anyway). He ends almost the same way when the anime started. The Story is pretty much similar to Gundam Seed.
The Animation is pretty decent, although they do reuse a lot of their scenes. If you are planning to watch this right after Gundam seed, don't expect the same quality. The new characters are boring with the exception of a couple.
The story is all over place, sometimes they focus the story on Shinn, then on Athrun, then on Kira, then back to shinn, then back to kira, then athrun etc.... Overall, I would probably only watch GSD, if you really liked Gundam Seed, and want to know what happens after Seed.

| This anime had lots of potential, Unfortunantly it felt short of its predecessor Gundam Seed. The story line could have use a little more work especially when it came to the end of the series. I believed that instead of adding new characters they could have develop the characters from seed a lot more. Never the less it was a great series, with the exception of the ending. Hopefully they will do another Gundam Seed to cover up the whole they left open in this Series.

| To say that I was dissapointed in this anime is the understatement of the century. I was expecting so much from this anime following its predeccessor, Gundam SEED, and this anime falls flat in every category.
The animation is without a doubt amazing; the battles are well done, the mobile suits, battleships, characters, and backgrounds are all well-detailed, the explosions and battle damage is realistic, and the action scenes are fluid. However, this anime cannot achieve a top score: it seemed as if at least 60-70% of the battle footage in every battle was re-used from a previous one. That sort of thing just seems lazy to me.
The sound was well done, the songs all enhanced the scenes in which they occured; especially in the emotional scenes when combined with a melancholic song in the background. Definately takes its cue from the original Gundam SEED in this respect.
The story falls pretty flat. While it had potential, I just found it hard be interested in it, when no one has a reason to fight and seem to fight random opponents every episode. Also, the re-hashing of the plot twists from Gundam SEED (literally; the similarities between the SEED plot twists and the SEED Destiny plot twists made me think that it was the same story with just a few tweaks) was incredibly annoying and stale.
This story strives to be a "political drama"; and I have seen many reviews praise it as such, but in all seriousness, there is little "political drama" to be had. There are a few behind-the-scenes manipulations, but we never really see the heads of the Earth Alliance do anything, Orb is pretty much buffeted in the wind by the whims of the Alliance and PLANT, and the goings-on in PLANT's political arena are mere background to the story. There are barely any meetings between heads-of-State, or diplomatic negotiations or backroom deals; the extent of the "political intrigue" is: "This country is enemy! Destroy!" The only real political "manipulation" is the footage of the battle against the Destroy gundam and the side-story with Lacus. Not enough to classify this anime as a stunning political drama, in my opinion.
This story is not about political drama; this story is supposed to be about the characters and their attempts to forge a peaceful world.
Also, the 4-5 "flashback" episodes were pointless and did nothing to enhance the plot or bring anything more to the story. Instead of wasting time doing these flashback episodes they should have continued from the end of the anime and actually given the anime a real ending. Nothing is ultimately resolved: though the enemy is destroyed, we don't find out how the world responds and whether or not the peace that everyone had been striving for for 50 episodes had been achieved or not.
As to the characters: in my opinion, every newly introduced character is terribly done and merely a re-hashed form of a character from the original Gundam SEED. We have the masked man, the evil "Blue Cosmos" people, the red-head in love with the main character, the hapless female mobile suit pilot who needs to be saved by the main character all the time, the enagmatic pilot, and even the Minerva (the main ship of Destiny) is commanded by a female commander just like the Archangel from SEED.
In addition, I just hated every new character; especially Shinn. Shinn is merely a berserker who is easily manipulated and acts like a 2-year old arrogant and angry brat whenever he talks to anyone. When he gets on the battlefield, he has no morals, no objective, and merely destroys. This all might be ok if he develops or changes over the series, but he doesn't. Shinn experiences no development or growth at any point in the series. He is the same brat at the end that he was at the beggining. I would have to say he is one of the few main characters I have ever *hated* from an anime.
New side characters like Lunamaria, Rey, and Talia also inspired little emotion from me, and I never found myself siding with their positions or caring about them at all.
The only saving grace for characters of this series are the ones who return from SEED: Cagalli, Arthurn, Kira, Lacus, Waldfield, Murrue, etc. Arthurn's confusion over who the enemy is, and his attempts to cure Shinn of his stupidity are interesting, but ultimately futile.
Kira, like in SEED, was by far the most interesting character in this anime, and was the one in which I couldn't help but root for, even as the series tried to get me interested in the useless and annoying Shinn.
Cagalli's growth in this series is apparent and interesting, as she matures and grows into her role as the head of Orb and the leader of her people.
It is the return of Cagalli, Kira, and Arthurn in particular that prevent the character score on this anime from being a complete disastor.
This anime has little value; I would never rewatch it, and would not reccomend it to anyone, especially not to fans of SEED, unless they want to see a little more of Kira and Arthurn.
I did not really enjoy this anime: I hated the main character, Shinn, and pretty much every new character that was introduced. I did not like Dullindal, Talia, Lunimaria, Rey, or any of them. The story felt boring, and the entire anime was a dissapointment compared to Gundam SEED.

| Compared to its predecessor, Gundam Seed Destiny is an immense disappointment. With its painfully cliche beginning, badly executed final ten episodes and immensely unlikeable main character, it is easy to overlook the shows merits.
Unlike its prequel, Destiny is first and foremost a political drama. Seed's focus on the human consequences of war is covered only in Shinn's tragic attempt to protect the child-like Stellar from the horrors of war. Ultimately though the show is about Dullindal and his plan to bring an end to war at any cost. Even when Destiny becomes a mess of recycled stock footage, rushed plotting and unnecessary flashbacks, the conflict between the Dullindal and those that oppose him provides more then enough interest and entertainment to make up for the flaws.
Destiny is a series without heroes or villains, both sides are fighting for ultimately fighting for the same cause, they merely disagree about the means to achieve it. Stuck inbetween the two sides is Athrun, who is sympathetic to both yet not really part of either.
All this is ultimately let down by the mediocre action scenes and annoying characters. Top of the list of annoying characters is the new main character, Shinn, who is an annoying spoiled brat who can't get over the death of his family in the battle for orb that took place in the previous series. It gets so bad that he is almost impossible to like, despite how necessary his anger and refusal to let go of the past are to the plot. For that same reason, he undergoes absolutely no character development until the final episode. However, his presence and his annoying character is realistic and does enhance the plot significantly. Regretfully, the reccuring main characters from seed also develop a number of annoying character traits for much the same reason. Athrun loses much of the character development he underwent in Seed before regaining it suddenly towards the end, Cagalli becomes a spineless wimp unable to cope with her position as Orb's Chief Representative, whilst Lacus and Kira are annoyingly perfect and far too self righteous for their own good. However, none of this is to the point where the series is unwatchable, although it does spoil the enjoyment of the series somewhat.
Ultimately, Gundam Seed Destiny is a series worth watching, if not judged in comparison to its vastly superior predecessor. You'll also need a tolerance for politics, because much of the series focuses on the political manoveurings of Chairman Dullindal. You'll also need to tolerate the series' ridiculous overuse of recycled animation, flashbacks and clip episodes. In the end though, Gundam Seed Destiny is not a bad series, it's just significantly weaker than it's predecessor.

| I was sorely disappointed with SEED Destiny. I thought it started out great and was really leading up to something fantastic, but it really took a turn for the worse in the end. Not too bad, but doesn't live up to its predecessor.

| I am astounded, ASTOUNDED, that such a great anime like this is getting such a low average. What could possibly caused this to happen??
Could it be because this anime, though contains the word "gundam" in its title, is not only unlike the original Seed series (barring the presentation and the premises of the anime), but hardly resembles the gundam series at all in content?! Could it also be because there is an annoying prat in this anime that gets a considerable amount of air time? Well, whatever the reason is, I personally think this sequel is just as good, if not better, than Gundam Seed. Allow me to dig further into the details.
Apart from the distinguishable character designs and the similar titanic orchestral BGM's, this doesn't feel like a sequel to Gundam Seed at all because the action takes more of a backseat. A Gundam series in which the action takes the back seat? Could it be possible?? What does it take the backseat to? Plot development?? Actually, yes, that's right. Soon after the copy cat start that was too much like Gundam Seed (and other Gundam series as well) for comfort, I was soon drawn in by the thickening plot that's that was full of subtle, political maniplulation unravelled at a very deliberate pace, making this the main attraction point of the anime.
Another thing that makes this anime quite different is that there isn't really a main hero. The story instead revolves around several central characters, not really giving any enough time to any of them for them to be called the main hero.
In addition to not having a main hero, this anime also lacks a main villain. When the main "villain"'s (I'll not give away who it is here) motives are revealed, one can argue that he's not really a villain at all - his motivations are just, but he just went about an immoral way to achieve his goals.
Whilst we're on the subject of main characters, it may come as a shock to other people who has seen this that I think that the best character in this is actually Shin. Yes, that annoying arrogant brat Shin. A lot of people probably disliked the anime because Shin is one of those characters that are near impossible to like (think shinji from Eva, but with less extreme personality), and in addition, he is one of the characters who are more central to the anime... which means he gets a lot of screen time... which means as much as you want to ignore him, you just can't get him out of your face. I felt pretty much the same when I was watching the show. But strangely enough, after I've watched it, the impression of Shin's character is the impression that fades the least, and the more I think about it, the more I appreciate what a great character he is. From a character development point of view, his cockiness, his transformation, his desire to desperately protect what he couldn't protect before, everything about him "fits" and makes perfect sense, so his character feels effortlessly natural and realistic. Yea, he's a cocky little sh*t, but you can just imagine him being that annoying git that you knew at school. From a more objective point of view, you won't find many better characters out there. And, it has to be said, without Shin, I probably won't have witnessed some of the most exhilarating mecha combat ever towards the end of the anime. The reason for this is that Shin's "annoyingness" really spices up the battles at the end because you just want someone to kick his ass so hard *lol*.
And here's another thing: not only did I find all that was different about this gundam series so good, what bored me about this anime is actually everything you'd expect from a sequel to Gundam Seed.
To begin with, the way this anime started, so similarly to the first series as well as other gundam series such as Gundam 0083, was so unoriginal that I felt really sick of it. It's probably supposed to be a clever way of telling you "oooh noes! History is repeating itself!!", but it didn't come off great.
Secondly, there was the action. It's pretty much a rehash of everything we've already seen a million times before in the 50 episodes of the first series. And even though there aren't as many new berserkers introduced as the ridiculous number in Seed (everyone seem to be a berserker there), nearly every battle would still end with someone going berserk and annihlating everyone else on the battlefield. But even we haven't seen it all before, the action is pales in comparisons with first series because of the huge amount of reused scenes, like everytime shinn's ship (can't remember what it's called) launched. With the exception of a couple of duels towards the end, I was totally bored by most of the action.
Thirdly, there are the traditional Gundam cliches which I, for one dislike. You know what I'm talking about. Not had enough of miraculous survivals with no explanations given? Well, you can look forward to more of this! Do you want more of people passionately doing/saying stupidly illogical things? You're in for a treat, cos there are even more to be found here. And aside from the other familiar reoccuring things such as man in mask, how can we forget the golden 50 episode rule?! Yep, it dragged the first series out a bit, but it manages to drag out the second series even more. Or maybe it just feels that way because we're already burdened with the 50 episodes from the first series. Combined together, the two series does NOT need to be 100 episode long... jeeez.
Fourthly, I was telling my friend how I liked the second half of the interlude in the middle of each of the later episodes of Gundam Seed, with lacsus doing the ballerina spin and the music box playing in the background, and he told me there's a similar scene in Gundam Seed Destiny. After watching it, I have to conclude that in comparison to the interlude scene in Gundam Seed that I described as a "magical moment", this copy cat scene is best described as a "nauseating moment" which looks like it's inspired by the adverts for the new Barbie & Ken dolls set.
So there you have it, whether you like this anime or not all depends critically on whether you like the differences introduced in this unorthodox Gundam series. Personally, I found that the thumb rule was that nearly everything that was conventional about this series sucked, so it's probably just as well that there was so much about this anime that is different.
On a side note, it occured to me whilst watching Banner of the Stars III that, had the main villain's Destiny Project been successfully implemented, it might have resulted in something that isn't so different from the Ahb Universe. That doesn't seem so bad, does it?

| Did Adaquete as Gundam Seed's sequel but you forget that fact for a second, this truely an great series.
The animation is just great as most gundam series. The fight sequence with those huge mecha just leave you in awe. It is amazingly detailed and just fun to watch the animation.
The sound: 10
The music is just amazing and is just as good as Seed's music if not better. All you favorite singers come back to make the openning and endings of this series. Definitely worth buying the soundtrack.
Story: 9
Great story. the struggle of a person effected by war. Just great. But it is a used theme. There are many aspects that are new such as.... oops, don't want a spoiler do you. Well there is uniqueness in the way they do things, but the overall, it seemed repeatitive. This series does test the moral or idea set in the end of Gundam Seed. It is the story of a soldier of war.
Character: 10
Kira, Athrun, Cagali, and Lacus. Everyone of them returns. What else can you ask for. There also the new set of characters that contribute greatly to the story. Each character brings a different aspect to the story and they really do develop through out the story.
Value: 9
As i said before, this is a great anime. Should be rewatched and may be even 3 times. Every Gundam Seed fan is going to watch it and probably rewatch it. But the story is kinda of a repeat so there that, but totally rewatchable.
Enjoyment: 10
I just loved it. I loved seeing all my fav. characters again, the crazy fight sequences and the test of moral behind the story.

| If you're expecting Destiny to be on-par with the original Seed, you might be a bit dissapointed. Nevertheless, I had a great time watching this sequel.
There are some recycled animation scenes, but the overall animations, especially those in the battles, more than make up for them. Facial expressions and such are good, as they were in Seed.
The sound and music are great, though not as much memorable songs (to me) as Seed. Still, good choice of music for scenes.
Some say the story is straight-out cliched, but what mattered to me was the execution of the plot with the characters. I could feel for many of the characters in how they relate to the situation in each situation - each character has his/her own personality and traits. There are people I hated and liked. Some aspects of the story were predictable, in a good and bad way (some characters you know just won't die, and don't want to die) but still had some twists in the storyline. Overall theme, to me, is how manipulative war can be on everyone, and the story portrays this quite well.
The value is not as high since after watching it once, you know who'll die and all, but I personally watch it for the characters and battle scenes not be emotionally connected through drama or anything.
Was a great time-killer.

| If you watch this straight away after GSeed then you will be bored. The only way to summarize this anime is a remake of Gseed with new characters but same setting, same role, and almost same key settings. The story are very few, infact, since most are thesame you will be skipping most of it just to find out what the conclusion is

| What plays into the context of the leaders of a nation deciding to declare war against another nation? It's very difficult to choose sides on whom is justified to declare war and what initial motives come into play with making such a heavy decision. Imagine the amount of pressure that entails--the blood of many soldiers will be on your hands fighting for the cause you represent, the cities you support may fall and innocent people may be hurt or killed for the establishment of other ideals or simply because it's justified "in wartime"....and if you should lose entirely, you face the fact that all the ideals you fought for would be exterminated and/or deemed immoral. Not to mention the victors will try to coax you into the so-called "right" notions and even kill you if you don't comply. That scope is very limited compared to the multitude of other scenarios that could arise.
With regards to those pressures among others, the will...no, not quite that....the NEED to succeed comes into fashion. When that need becomes the chief concern, political dignitaries, like the complex, conflicted humans they are, may do anything to satiate that need if it means challenging collective, mutual morals and employing deception to gain and ensure their victory....for the survival of their ideals and values, as well as their own survival and the distinction of power.
Hence entails the very framework that establishes Gundam Seed Destiny.
If there's one primary, unique notion about Gundam Seed Destiny, it's to say that it explores these issues in a broad, intriguing scheme. Where Gundam Seed's strengths lie in depicting the complex aspects of wartime and human notions with regards to ideals and existences, Gundam Seed Destiny expands upon those ideals and provides a unique framework on the level of the politics and implementation of war itself.
Commencing almost 2 years since the war in the former series, Gundam Seed Destiny depicts the struggles of the Space Colonies and the Earth Alliance to maintain peaceful relations...but everything seems less than peaceful even from the very start of this series. From tragic losses in the life of Shinn Asuka, one of the primary characters of the series, to the theft of three rather powerful Gundam weapons by a vengeful, misunderstood group of individuals (the Extendeds), it takes you into battle just as quickly as the original series.
But even with the initial battles, the true conflict doesn't come to surface until the fall of Junius Seven...and the tragic string of events that once again sets both nations at war with each other. Yet, behind the surface of this conflict, many players, like the pieces on the chess board that Colony Leader Chairman Dullindal manipulates throughout the series, come into importance. And indeed, Chairman Dullindal is at the heart of this conflict, with his rather ethically challenging means of implementing his future ambitions. The real intrigue is seeing how he wittingly and seducingly worms his way into his advocators and assistants' hearts and turns them into pawns without them knowing their use until it becomes too late. Such manipulation proves the very heart of the conflict and intrigue GSD offers.
Animation is consistent and well done; music is just as excellently crafted as (if not superior to) the original series.
While I would say that Gundam Seed Destiny expands on the original series greatly in terms of the formerly established notions, GSD proves a bit weaker in story and characterization when standing alone for proper comparison. The story itself is quite intriguing and innovative in terms of its focus. Yet, I felt some of the derivations from the primary plot were either unnecessary or not expanded enough. The characters also seemed a bit weaker through some of the turns in events, and I couldn't get at the heart of some of them as much as the way Gundam Seed brilliantly set up its cast. Yet, with only a few flaws, I would say it's an excellently crafted one that kept me engaged until the very end, and I regard it highly for many reasons.
Overall, if you're looking for a series with political intrigue, this would be the series for you. If you enjoy watching series with more than just one main character involved in the center of the action, this would also be a series for you. I'm hesitant to recommend this to the fans of Gundam Seed however, or to those who subjectively look for a single hero or just want to see great battle scenes. Granted, GSD has great battle scenes, but it's not at the level action anime fans would revel. Nor would Gundam Seed fans really be pleased to learn that the main characters from the former series take a bit of a backseat in this one. Fans of the Gundam dynasty overall, however (considering the linkage between ideals of war and consequential affect) might find something to appreciate with this series.

| First, I see that many people claim that this anime totally sucks and all... that's a lie. The anime isn't as good as its predecessor, but it lives for the Gundam Seed series and can offer you hours of entertainment.
The bad side of the series can be named "Shinn Asuka", probably one of the most annoying characters ever made for a anime series, I never felt like wanting a character die so badly as for him, he sucks, he doesn't have any reason to be so stupid and annoying, until episode 45 you will be wanting his death, that's a fact. Athrun became a numb doll with no reaction at all, he can still own, but he doesn't do a thing until the last episodes. The main plot is a bit cliche, the main downside compared to the first Gundam Seed, the typical diplomatic villain that makes everyone believe in him, blablabla.
The good side of the series is to offer you tons of great battle scenes, mainly involving the main characters of the series. And the MOST incredible thinf of this anime is how the Archangel crew appears and how they do their job. Kira will be showing up in the series, and every episode after that you will be laughing at how uber powerful he became, and thats the most exciting parts of the series. The main plot, even if he's cliche, is pretty good developed and can grant you nice moments.
So, Gundam Seed Destiny is not good enough as Gundam Seed, you will be completly stressed by Shinn at the middle of the series, but if you can make it to the end, you will se how this series is good.

| Compared to Seed, Destiny didn't live up to it's predecessor. Still, they're still some good points about the latest Gundam series. Animation was top notch. You'd expect that from a 2004 production right? There were a little CGI here and there especially the ships. Sounds were another good point here. The OP and ED were all sung by famous artists. BG was spectacular as well making every battle scene a little more vibrant. The story well... it may seem like a ripoff to previous Gundams especially Zeta Gundam. It more focuses on politics rather than dramatic side of the series. Character's not that good either. Apparently they didn't show the new characters too much to be developed. They even switched protagonists, which is not done in ither series. Value is ok since if you want to know what happens to the story after Seed. There might be some series unanswered threads dangling about though. There also some mobile suits that were directly ripped off from the Universal Century like the Zaku. In conclusion, if you're a seed fan watch it but if you're a Universal Century fan best if you avoid it.

| The animation was good, even though they used cels. I liked it, and it's a major improvement over SEED's animation.
The music in GSD surpasses SEED in almost every song, except Invoke and Anna ni Isshodatto no ni. My personal favorities were Pride and Kimi wa Boku ni Niteiru.
The last 10-15 were crap. Having two recap episodes and filler doesn't help much. Episode 48-49 almost redeemed it, and it had me psyched to watch the last ep, but ep 50 was disappointing. The battles were all one-sided and boring.
The characters were okay, I liked Kira more and I like Rey.....the rest were blah...and Shinn is....beyond bleh...I thought he was cool in the beginning...but bleh.....he's a boring character...
This series could be rewatched.....maybe if you watch the first 20 or so eps.....and in the mid 30s....that's it...
I did enjoy GSD though...it kept my interest better than SEED did, and I never watched all of SEED. The first six eps were awesome....too bad that rest of the series wasn't paced like that.
