Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha seems like a very hyped series seeing how there's a 3rd season of it... I Just Had to check out what was sooo great about it... First Impression gave me the idea of CardCaptor Sakura, but overall, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha seems just decent... pretty average, in my opinion. =/

The Animation was pretty decent for a 2004 anime... Sceneries, Magical Action, Character Designs all seemed pretty decent. Colours were full & Colourful/Dark when necessary... Just that it's nothing too special either... Oh, & a comment about the Character design, I thought it was pretty stupid that the creator kept reusing the hairstyle of the main guy characters. Eg. Nanoha's Father, Brother, Chrono and the random boy who plays football in the first few episodes? It's Soooo lame for them to all have the same hairstyles and similar sort of character designs, and even though they are all unrelated, they could look like the same/younger/older version of the mentioned characters... Doesn't the creator have any other hairstyles to use for the guys? -_-"""

The Sounds were pretty good in my opinion. The OP theme was a Very Good Song... =) The ED theme was a bright cheerful, happy female song. well, I like it, but i doubt that others will. =/ The Seiyuus did a pretty good job too. So I have no complaints at all. =) The Melodies of the OST were pretty good too and worked quite well during those serious scenes when necessary. =)

Now... The Story? At first, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha gave me the impression it was trying to copy CardCaptor Sakura... with the same hair colours, similar sort of wands, the main girl heroine has a magical animal for a partner/advisor, they have wings on their shoes, and they're both out to stop the harm caused by certain magical objects & then collect them by sealing them... Wowww... How Original... -_-""" But as episodes pass, well, it became more "original"? as it started to take a different turn...

Nanoha develops and gradually comes to realise that she has a rival, a girl with beautiful but lonely eyes with the same aim as her. "To Collect the Seeds". & That's where this Season was trying to get to... I have to say, that there were episodes that could touch me deeply, because of Nanoha's cheerfulness and optimistism? or maybe even wisdom? It was Very Interesting to find out the Deeper Story of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and what the aim of the REAL Bad Guy Boss was... XD But then again, for some reason, i felt as though they hadn't done enough to make Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Good...

It was Missing something, and as though something wasn't fulfilled, which was not doing justice to a well planned magical plot. <_< At the End of the season, I Just felt that the whole series was weird, trying to end in a happy way? with Nanoha's cheerful and friendly personality and all... But it just didn't work out all thaaat well. Guess I'm maturing, huh...

I guess Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha seems like an anime for kids, & I would usually have enjoyed this sorta genre, but i guess i've matured a bit more since i last watched Cardcaptor Sakura. -_-""" But I Do Have to mention that the Action scenes were pretty CooL~ The Magic Wand is some sort of programme that can transform into modes necessary for sealing/attacking or however, & the Magical Beams, Blasts & Fireworks etc. were Really Well Animated & CooL for a Magical girl Anime. (O_O) So that adds a couple of points for the entertainment part...

There were times when I enjoyed watching those fighting scenes, but other than that, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is pretty cliche and isn't anything too special or outstanding. <_<

The characters were pretty common. The usual normal family, the always-supportive friends. Well, the pasts of Nanoha's friends made it a bit interesting, but otherwise, all the other characters that were introduced were just basically used for only 1 or 2 episodes, and then just left alone. which makes me feel that they shouldn't have bothered introducing those characters in the first place. -_- Other than Nanoha, Yuuno & Fate, the other characters were all either not developed at all or developed to a very tiny extent & they feel sooo bland. Thus, the characters were nothing really special... We have seen Nanoha's cheerful Friendly Outgoing sort of Personality before many times, but i guess that was all right. Yuuno was the normal advisor who supports and supplies answers. Fate was a bit interesting, and her past was interesting to watch as well...

Thus Overall, I thought Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha was just a pretty average anime... Nothing Extremely Special, other than the action magical battle scenes which was Really CooL~ XD, the rest seems unfulfilled and feels out of place to me. I Couldn't Enjoy the End of the season cause i just felt that it was sooo weird that the characters suddenly opened up to each other...

Well, i probably wouldn't recommend this anime at all. But i guess it's no harm giving it a try? =/ Well. despite an average first season... I wonder if the next 2 seasons will get any better? But well, it would probably Interest a first-time anime viewer, but for those who have watched a number of similar animes already, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is just a pretty normal average anime... <_<

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is very predictable and completely boring at some parts, but there is a part of me that wants to give this a higher score. But I can't, because this anime is just so SLOW!!!

Animations are nice and are very bright in colors. But the one thing that annoys me so much is when the hair goes behind the eyes. UGHHHH! I can't stand that and what's even worse is that this anime came out in 2004. So it shouldn't be like 2002 anime's animations, but it should be better and stuff and stuff.

Background music is nice. OP song is absolutely wonderful. Not to mention the singer's voice sounds really good, but I can't say the same about the ED song. Because the ED song totally doesn't fit with the anime. Sure it's happy, but when you're at an action part in the anime and you want to know what is going to happen next. A happy ugly song comes on. WHAT THE BUTT! The ED song sounds like the singer is trying so hard to sing something good, but fails and can't sing at all. Just play the OP song for the ED song or something, but I just couldn't stand the ED song.

Story is just like simple magical girl anime. Reminds me of a lot like Cardcaptors, but far worse, because the characters in this anime are far from interesting. The main character must capture these 21 seeds or something. It would have been good if the anime didn't have such slow character development and all those nonsense recaps and the nonsense mindless talking that is so predictable. Not to mention boring.

The characters are horrible, and they are just a little slow with development. I wished not all of the main characters were super nice and super cheerful, because the world is not like that. Nanoha is a good, but boring main character. She gets too predictable and too cliche at some parts of the anime. And her ferret person is a little boring and cliche as well. Everyone else was there, because they had too. (Nanoha's family is really boring and they seem a little too overjoyed for a regular family)

This anime was a complete disappointment for me. I thought it would be wonderful like Cardcaptors, but instead it's really slow and that makes it such a boring anime. It captures a little magic with a good OP. And it's on the border of line of decent and horrible. But I'll give it a decent score just for that OP song. Watch this anime just for the OP song and when you're done you can skip to a different anime. I heard Magical Lyrical Nanoha A's is a good anime and way way way better then the first one.

Anyway off to go watch the second season of this anime. Let's pray that this anime gets better and fun to watch.

Oh no, another Magical Girl anime where some elementary school girl goes around collecting lost fragments for some odd animal mascot!!!! When will they stop making these?

Actually, I really enjoyed Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Sure, on the whole, it was pretty cliche with the storyline, the lack of solid character relations, the happy-go-lucky main character, the lack of focus on any characters other than nanoha and fate, the ultimate evil versus the ultimate good, etc. But the way they presented everything was refreshing and fun. I mean, what's cooler than a HUGE ass beam of energy coming from this little 3rd grader?

In more detail, what I really enjoyed were the action scenes. This is magical girl meets dragon ball, without the never-ending power up scenes. Okay, it's a little silly when you think about it: talking magical wands that transform and can emit huge amounts of energy??? There's absolutely no logical sense in all the 'magic' that happens in this anime, but that's totally fine with me. Instead, they replace it with some pretty fireworks and interesting fight scenes. I really enjoyed the battles between Nanoha and Fate. Although not the most sophisticated choreography out there, what MG Lyrical Nanoha has to offer is pretty well done.

Story, characters - hm... well, let's just say that if I were to introduce this anime to anyone, they'd laugh at the anime and then laugh at me for talking about it in the first place. There's nothing here that really stands out EXCEPT for the completely different scenario (remember the stuff about the talking magical wands that transform?) I think that all this high powered energy fights with transformations really just made everything else unimportant. I mean, yeah... Nanoha is very sweet, Fate is the typical girl who needs to be saved, all the guys are support characters, no romance, very pure-ish; so really, nothing different.

Edit: I'd like to re-emphasize the fact that none of the characters stand out. Perhaps only Fate with her silent brooding and odd past. Everyone else are cookie-cutter molded characters

Overall, I think if you want to enjoy a nice breather anime that does not insult or annoy, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is a pretty safe bet. It is kind of hard to hate an anime as straightforward as this. Furthermore, they did well by not having the full-length transformation scene towards the latter half of the series. Lyrical Nanoha doesn't really soar or astound, but it definitely has its fun moments. I might forget about it in the future, but while I watched it, it wasn't bad.

To see what the hype is all about, I decided to tackle Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, a show that seems like the usual mahou shoujo, but given it's episode length, focuses on the ulterior plot and character interactions. Does it succeed? All I can say is that several episodes certainly had me hooked, wanting to know more about their pasts and reasons for their motives.

The most notable aspect of this series is the growing relationship between Nanoha and Fate throughout the series. It's not totally predictable, but it is focused and to some extent dynamic. The process isn't cheesy (very action-packed, if you will) and each battle left a rooting feeling for them to get closer and closer to eventually defeat their common enemy. I don't consider it a breakout act, but at least it was entertainingly good.

Unfortunately, that's all the series has to offer - everything else falls beyond expectations.

I found myself skipping the episodes a lot - a sign of boringness and bad pacing. I don't believe the tension - I want to see where the story goes, not watch pans of desperate faces of tired-out mages. The first several episodes were really boring and cliche'd, including one of the "usual" episodes at #3 which was very predictable and was only there for the hell of having one. The talk was also predictable - I could skip whole conversations and know exactly what they were talking about and what they want to tell the viewers. (I average 15 minutes/25-minute episode. Yep.)

Because this is a magical girl series, the setting is utterly predictable, boring, and cliche'd. The heroine is backed by a completely normal family with go-lucky parents and siblings; her friends support her (though how they got to be friends is slightly interesting) and everyone clearly likes Nanoha for what she is: the happy go-lucky not-unusual cheerful and completely normal girl. "Disguised as a throw-away" is what someone had said, and they were right: you can throw this away from the first minute and dismiss it as another kid's show, not caring that it's only 13 episodes long and has to have something significant.

Nanoha, as loli and necessary as she is, is not Sakura Kinomoto (CCS). In fact, she's just another cookie-cutter grade schooler that made the episodes drag with every single conversation revolving around her. We are CONSTANTLY REMINDED at every pre-episode intro that she's just a third-grader caught up in this affair, which really detracts the episodes every time and makes me hate her more and more. Fortunately, her dynamic with Fate saves me from detesting the whole series altogether.

The overall plot is the usual villain-disowns-minions for her-greater-good along with the must-collect-stuff in the beginning. Boring first half, mediocre second half. It was semi-interesting, and I only took note of it if only for the NanohaXFate dynamics.

There is only one good fight scene - the rest are worth skipping. It's not as big of a beam-spam-fest as people said it is, but that one good fight scene had minimal pauses between action.

There is nothing lyrical about this series nor it's magic. If it was in the first episode, I probably skipped or forgot about it.

Also, the magic staves are annoying with all the sci-fi shtuff. Sci-fi and magic mixing is not a good combination. If I wanted magic, don't explain the source. In sci-fi, always explain the source. NEVER use sci-fi to explain magic. Oh, and "Yes, sir" = ROTFLOL.

This anime contains elementary school students using cell phones.

Onwards to MGLN A's.

Overall i thought this anime was decent...nothing special....just decent.

Im my opinion, it is a rather girly anime with too many female characters.....but the thing is that the action and magical powers etc are more for guys....as a male i enjoyed the action scenes. But i really disliked the girly nature of the anime. What i especially disliked was the main character, nanoha. She lacks character....she is just too nice. That makes her less appealing as a main character as well as dulling her....in my opinion Fate would have been a better main character than nanoha.

I thought the first 4 episodes were very painful to watch...it was just so boring. Episodes after this were in a whole new level...a lot more enjoyable. In a way, this anime is sort of like chrno crusade....starts of boring and then becomes good (but chrno crusade is superior to this anime IMO).

mahou shojo lyrical nanoha is a very good magical girl series its fun lighthearted and very actiony at times.at first i thought i would hate this because i am more into depressing and bloody series but to my surprise i enhjoyed this.

animation- wow! the animation was very nice all the characters looked nice and had great design especially the hair and magical girl clothing.to start of the animation for nanaoha herself was the best in the series and they animated her very well and she actually looked like her mother this is a first ever when ive seen a anime.the magical girl tranformation scene had great color it was mainly lighter colors but was a good transformation scene were at first her shirt and skirt come of then everything else and then she gets her very cool looking magical girl uniform(not in a pervertedway).the only thing that was somewhat animated badly was the design for the deamons.

sound- well the oppening was good it fit with the series very well.i also noticed that i loved nanoha s cell phone ring it was so catchy.the voice acting for the most part was okay it wasnt great but the voice actor for the raging heart was perfect it sounded so cool.

story- this is a magical girl series so heres the basic plot there is a girl and she finds a ferret and well the ferret can talk and fight deamons but she got hurt and needs some help so nanoha then got powers and she fights monstyers.thats all to it its just very good to enjoy.

character- they were ghood but i really loved nanoha she had a good attitude and was cool.fate was also awesome she fought so good.

enjoyment-well i love to see cute little magical girls beat the living shit out of each other so if u like that then watch it .

This is one very good anime. Like many other people, just looking at Naoha and its synopsis, one might think how it's a biteoof of Card Captor Sakura. Fortunately, despite Nanoha's weapon and looks being similar to Sakura, she is a whole different character with one beautiful story and world that you can immerse yourself into.

Nanoha is not spectacular in part, but as a whole it shines. I can explain this by saying that the animation, sound, story, and character development as seperate entities are nothing remarkable (with some deference to the opening sound track) - As a complete intertwining smorgasbord of sensual imagery, these elements form an exceptional, and enjoyable investment of time.

The animation got me hooked in the first episode with two short lived but highly innovative sequences that are never again revisited in style or similarity. Lukily for me, that was not near as important in further episodes as I became further engrosed in the series. Overall, the animation is tight and beautiful, but that first episode has burned an image, of what anime COULD be like, in my mind for ever.

The sound is well placed, the voice acting is quite pleasant but the Opening song is well beyond my expectations. I don't like "anime music" but I have fallen in love with this one. "Innocent Starter" has found a permanant place in my 5 star playlist.

The story is your typical magical girl with a more mature touch (strange considering the youth of the characters). It does not fall in the trap of overly cute to the point of mindless "kawaiiness" that 99% of "Magical Girl" shows contain. That makes it new in my book!

The characters really shine, besides the robot like, ultra caring of Nanoha herself, she is defined like a "passive aggressive" (all things can be worked out with words before violence) but more than willing to kick some ass if she has to, kind of character. The character "Fate" is the truely dynamic character entity of this story and her pain and suffering is eclipsed only by Nanoha's compassion. Such character development is undoubtedly rare in "Magical Girl" anime prototypes.

This is an extremely valuable series, and a bargain at even the most outrageous prices of English Anime DvD's. If it is liscensed, I suggest picking it up with all due haste!

I found myself looking forward to each new episode, all the way through the series' completion. I was ready with my popcorn and soda, and even brought out my most comfy chair, providing myself with the ultimate enjoyable experience.

Having been, or being, a big fan of fantasy, having enjoyed CCS and Ultra Maniac tremendously, I am surprised at how much I disliked watching this anime.

Only 3 of its episodes charmed me. I found the characters shallow, and I kept seeing major flaws with the plot which interfered with any possible enjoyment of this series.

I recognize this as a children's show, and perhaps it is too harsh to claim that I found the script flaccid and the sequence of events far too convenient to let things happen in their fashion and work out in the end, in spite of the intriguing introduction.

So, it is easier to claim that in the end, I found this anime boring. It didn't upset or frustrate me as it might have if it were longer or more poorly done, but this was primarily because I had little emotional attachment to the characters.

Some episodes I found my mind drifting, others I forced myself through in case the plot revealed some marvellous turn that would suddenly inspire excitement.

But it didn't. Dis-excitement abounded, things kept happening... 'why didn't she?!... how in the world?!... if she can do that, why not...?!...", but I was not even interested enough with the goings on to really care that events just ran their course tediously.

There are some very interesting and original plot elements, and what otherwise I would consider very good twists, but to me, this anime did not come together well.

How does something that starts so cliched become so good? When I first started this series, I was thinking "100% CCS ripoff". In the end, I was so wrong for thinking that. Lyrical Nanoha has a place as one of the best and most well-thought-out magical girl anime ever.

Animation-wise, nothing remarkable. It's bright and happy color palette is nice, but the animation style, especially in Ep. 1, isn't very consistent. Thank god that only lasted for one ep. Still, it's fluid and pretty with one of the best-looking magical girl transformations that shows just how far we've come from Sailor Moon.

The soundtrack is also nothing to scoff at. An wonderfully catchy and appropriate OP and ED as well as a well-placed insert song fits well amongst the BGM. I'd also like to point out that all the BGM was very appropriate for the desired scenes and really brought out the height of the emotion. Never have I paid so much attention to the greatness of a magical girl BGM soundtrack.

Storywise, once Fate shows up, that's when you need to start judging the story. It's a lot darker than most magical girl fare, especially in the scenes when Fate and her mother "interact". And the plot twists that come left and right! WOW! I never expected this much from a show like this!

Characterization is also high in this series. Nanoha may scream "Sakura clone" and you wouldn't be wrong to say that, but Fate and Arf do a great job of keeping you interested in the story just by themselves. You also gotta love how Yuuno plays both the pet and the "good friend the girl should be with but probably won't"

As far as would I recommend it? HECK YEAH!!! It may be a magical girl series, but it's dark and well-thought-out enough to stand out from the like. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha has a great plot, excellent music, and to top it off, ends in a way that leaves a smile on your face. It's only 13 eps but it's well worth the watch... now to watch the sequel!

I always say that the most enjoyable anime series are the ones that I expect nothing from. The greatest examples previous were Onegai Teacher and Ai Yori Aoshi. MGLN fits right in with both of those.

I must admit, the first two episodes showed me little promise. "Fluffy", I thought. Not that there's anything wrong with fluff! But from episode 3 on, the story really gets a move on, the characters really develop, the animation seems to get better, the overall enjoyment rises with each new episode.

It's been a while since the last episode of a series has moved me to happy tears, but here it is!

Great show! Watch it now!

At first I didn't even give this anime a glance, I thought it was just another magical girl show. After it was recommended to me, I must say, I was pleasantly surprised.

The fight scenes were refreshing, and the magic system was clever. Nanoha, Fate, and certain allies had several varied magic spells and actually used them quite liberally during battles too.

The story is nothing new, however the presentation is quite good and the story gets somewhat darker in the middle. Character development is focused on Nanoha and Fate of course and is great. The secondary characters don't get much, however considering the shortness of the series I believe the choice to mostly focus on the main heroines was a good one.

The bgms mesh well, Take a Shot is catchy, and the op song (Innocent Starter) is awesome. The ed song (Little Wish) is cute, however I didn't like it as much.

Overall, this was an excellent series to me. Nanoha and Fate are adorable, and the ending made me smile. If you like magical girl series, you will love this. If you don't, it seems the first few episodes are the biggest hurdle; most people seem to be turned off by the first episode. (As I was.) Give it a chance and watch it all the way through, you maybe as surprised as I was.

This is how Magical Girl anime should be done! The only thing that I didn't like about this show was that it was only 13 episodes (but, apparently, a 2nd season will be showing soon - can't wait!)

The animation was nice and consistent throughout the whole show. I liked the character designs (even the tuft of hair that miraculously switches sides - like in Triangle Heart). The way the magical "wands" transformed was different - made Sakura's look a bit shoddy!

Really catchy OP and ED themes. I enjoyed listening to those each time. The BGM wasn't too memorable for me though.

The story? Nanoha runs into ferret-guy and is charged with collecting jewel seeds and has a collecting rival... Not the most unique plot, bu it does have a few darker twists along the way. I thought it ended well for a first season - and obviously they were planning to carry it on for another one if they had the chance (which they do!)

The characters are all well-defined. Nanoha is a typical Sakura-type. Fate has some "issues" with her mother, who is VERY sane. Ferret-guy (what was his name?) fits the role of the mascot well (but he's more than that!) As usual, I like the secondary characters who haven't got enough screen time - Nanoha's friends.

I really enjoyed this show immensely and I was glued to the screen throughout. Anyone who enjoys anime with magical girls and supercool magic wand duelling will love this! If this gets licensed for R1 I will definitely buy it!

Value - free fansub = ENORMOUS!

As I was searching around the net looking for some new anime to watch I came across this. I read the storyline, saw some screenshots and read some reviews. As soon as I was done, I went and downloaded the episodes! 5 minutes into the 1st episode and I was hooked. It IS alot like card captor sakura but I didn't care. I love cardcaptor sakura so I knew I was going to enjoy this. And I really did. To start off, the storyline was cute. The characters, lovable! I simply adore Fate. She's quietspoken but has a very gentle heart. You don't see alot of antagonists like her. And to hear actual english voices done for the magical weapons raging heart and bardiche, I was shocked. I totally didn't expect that which was even better! As for the music, I adore the opening! Nana mizuki has a wonderful voice! However... I didn't like the ending at all. Nanoha's seiyuu sung that I believe. But really it doesn't matter. I enjoyed it all the same. For you people who loved cardcaptor sakura, I recommend this to you. Although lyrical nanoha is on the darker side, it's not a big thing. I love it all the same!

Less cute and sweet than most mahou shojou. The central confrontation and evolving friendship via rivalry at the center of the story is most satisfying. Fate is a very sympathetic antagonist, and Nanoha has a true heart of gold. The fact that Nanoha is overmatched at first lends some suspense to the ultimate fight scenes near the end.

Far from being a stereotypical magical girl with pet anime, MGLN does has something new and refreshing to offer!
It has neatly packaged into 13 episodes, bringing you action and reason in every episode. Nanoha is a very sweet girl, who happily accepts her role as the magical girl, no crying "I don't want to"!! She is helped out with her task by a sweet little ferret called Yuuno-kun and an impressive staff called Raging Heart, impressive because she actually talks and is more like a mech than a magical sceptre!! This is the first MG anime I have seen involving interdimensional space and time and I found that side of it to be really refreshing. Another refreshing aspect to MGLN is her outfit, it actually comes to her shins, so there's no continuous panty shots, or heaving bosom scenes!!
The animation is very crisp, bright and fluid, with very believable backgrounds and nicely constructed buildings and spacecraft.
The music is wonderful and both op. & ed. songs very catchy and definitely the sing along kind!!
The characters are full of life and personality and while the anime isn't long enough for indepth character profiling, this doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the show.
The story starts off simply enough, Nanoha has to retrieve the lost logia stones, for a reason she doesn't worry about, other than it is to help out her new friend. It then gets more involved when a second mage arrives on the scene (Fate), she is another cute girl but with a dark aura and friendship is the last thing on her mind! The story then gets darker, why is Fate really after these stones, why is she so sad and lonely? It's a very engrossing story, full of twists and much evil! with a conclusive ending that doesn't leave you wondering what it was all about!!
Overall MGLN is throughly enjoyable, filled with endearing characters, interesting plot and is extremely well animated.
A mild interest in magical girl or shoujo anime is essential to truly enjoy this show, as even though there are variations on the typical magical girl theme, magical girl anime is what it is!!

A friend of mine randomly suggested this anime to me, telling me that it was pretty good. I haven't seen Mahou Shoujo anime in a long time, and I thought it was for a real good reason, 'till I saw this. This anime is VERY underrated, and will indeed go unnoticed by a lot of people, simply because many jaded anime watchers feel that the whole Magical Girl theme has been done to death.

Not so with Nanoha. I actually thought the sci-fi stuff was pretty cool, and having them use actual English VAs for Bardiche and Raging Heart was a nice touch. Characters are VAed well, with Yukari Tamura and Nana Mizuki leading the cast with their excellent talent. The anime is very bright, but don't let the fool you. It has dark undertones to it, and even the supposed antagonist is not the typical "bad guy who's intent on ruling the entire world".

Did I mention that Nana Mizuki does the OP, and might I dare say that they've GOT to have her do more music? Her voice is absolutely wonderful and her VA talent is very noticeable.

Fight scenes are wonderfully done, and the typical transformation sequence isn't done Every Single Freakin' Episode like it is in other Mahou Shoujo anime. The main character's will to help is what drives this anime, and it's a great focus point for the story and plot development.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha is another one of those magical girl shows (if you didn't guess from the title) which is very generic in terms of what other magical girls show can do as well.

The first thing that hit me with MGLN is the superb OP (and later on the ED) that it provieds. Innocent Starter is so brilliant, that i can easily watch the intro many times and not get bored with the music or the video.
Animation-wise, MGLN is as great as it can be, character designs are nicely presented and the 'magic circles' are pretty and bright. The cuteness of this anime is high, Nanoha and the rest of the loli pack are great to look at and very cute.

MGLN does suffer with its story though, though i have to agree that when the 'sci-fi' thing turned up, i was a bit turned off and thought it was stupid, but gradually it got better, thankfully, the explanation they gave for this matter is semi-justified and i have to say that the last few episodes impressed me in terms of story and character relations. Though the story took too long to build up and wasn't special up until the last episodes, the story was better than some magical shows i've seen.

Characterw-se, for me, only one character mattered, and that was 'Fate', a more interesting backdrop for her made this anime quite worthwhile. She was cute and her background was nicely explained. Nanoha on the other hand was like a very standard 12 year old girl, though in this kind of anime you expect someone like her in this anime, her character was boring. All other side characters did their part ok, but no enough episodes were taken into their backgrop.

Overall, 'Fate', the music and last few episodes made this slightly better than the generic Magical girl show but nothing special. Try a bit harder with its story and characters and you might get somethign more watchable.

Overall: 6.5/10
Grade: C+

I absolutely loved this anime. It's the best magical girl anime i've watched since Card Captor Sakura. This is an anime that you either love or don't and there's definately a better chance of you loving it. Although I wish it could be a little longer or have a second season, i'm still very pleased. You should DEFINATELY give this anime a shot!

Ok, after some more thought I decide to re-write my review. My previous review pretty much sound bad for this series b'cuz i'm obsessive with the elementary school kids thing but after thinking about it for couple of min. I come to the conclusion that magical have to use kids as magical users otherwise it's won't be magical girl show. *DUH*

Ok, first of all this one really good fighting scenes and cool moves. Unlike other anime which they got like 2 or 3 moves through out 50 ep. and win with secrect inner strenght or something like that. Nanoha seem to be matual enough to take all the responsible for herself, it's still kinda weird no one around her doesn't notice anything differnt. Dispise being a kids, Nanoha is great, she have friend, family, and sidekick. The family got a little history on father's job. Her older brother is boyfriend of one of the Nanoha's friend. All and all, the story mixed up pretty well and it sure doesn't have junk filer or fanservice to waste your time.

There're unique things about this shows. I would say the sad atmosphere and complex demension story. It's pretty fun, but I still think it's kinda too much for magical shows.
