I'm usually the first person to defend these seemingly pointless anime OVAs and even spend some time researching to find meaning for their existence, but in this instance I can't find any reason to defend this mind numbingly boring 30 minute piece of trash!

I probably should have looked into the origins of this before starting (as I didn't realised this was based on a Bishoujo dating sim game and as I have yet to discover 1 decent anime that started off life as a game rather than a manga or novel) and I would most likely not have bothered in the first place!

It was so bloody boring! This was mostly down to the mindless dialogue the characters were forced to spew out the whole time, but also because it had no direction and really no purpose; I can't even see how this would appeal to people who had played the game beforehand?!

Anyway, it's just about tolerable as a once only watch, but be mindful that you will most likely be bored the whole way through.

To sum First Love Story up in one word - boring. While visually, it's very pretty, with character designs that rarely translate well from page to screen, this is actually really dull. Boy meets girl, they fall in love and have to struggle to keep their long-distance relationship together. Misunderstanding ensue. From that quick summary, you know what's going to happen. I'm all for slow, lovey dovey anime, but this puts anyone's patience to the test. Give us an interesting plot point, a character quirk, give us anything to keep us from falling asleep! Sometimes I didn't even read the subs so I would be spared the obvious dialogue. And I think that is the worst insult one can give to anything.

And I must add that this suffers from "Let's add in a nameless character in the last minute who doesn't say a word!" syndrome, along with Boku wa Konomama Kaerenai, which was actaully good despite suffering from the syndrome.

i somehow enjoyed watching this short light hearted romantic ova.

as expected from a 1 episode ova of its genre to have lil character development (ofcourse, there won't be any character depth). the characters had good chemistry. the design and drawing of the characters are also nice. the story is okay but nothing special, has no obvious or major flaws. the story and situations may happen in real life. those sweet mellow music background blended well.

i think they did fine since it is not easy to make a short 1 episode ova.

i suggest you only watch this ova if you just wanted a very short simple romantic story that doesn't require any thinking or adrenaline rush. where you could relax and worry nothing as you enjoy the ova. to those you who love this type of genre, you may want to try this. it won't blow you away, but i believe you'll feel good after watching the show (atleast for me).

I admit that the reason behind me watching this was because of all the bad things that I've heard about it. There isn't really anything terribly wrong with it: animation=nice, sound=okay, story=blah, character=blah...unfortunately, these last two areas are exactly what keeps this short oav from being a good oav and instead turns it into one big sewer.

There isn't any real character depth. These people are going through all sorts of emotions and I could care a less. Why? Probably because the creators don't even bother to outline or describe any of the character's pasts or personalities. All that we get is *boom* boy and girl are in love, boy and girl go through semi-depression, boy and girl are in love again.

A boring story, boring plot, boring characters...you see a trend here?

The main problem is that there is only one episode for 20min. There basically is no time to develop anything at all for a romance anime.

The whole thing feels rushed, and it feels like a waste of time watching this anime because you gain nothing from it.

It would be better if they just stick this as a bonus in the game rather than being a standalone anime episode.

The only respectable thing about this was Shuogo a decent guy who unfortunately doesn't get the girl.

What terrible matchmaking. Here is why? Who wants to see an already done love story between two young'uns, if you want to add some spice why not have the young girl fall for the student teacher who is not all that older than her to begin with, it would be like Onegai Teacher but only more simplistic in storytelling.

Not only was the story only remotely interesting Kana who could've been lovestruck with that good guy Shuogo instead chooses to be with a guy who spends more time away from her than is humanly possible and makes this whole thing redundant, unappealing, pointless.

If you must see to past the time that's fine but stay away from it if you truly want to be entertained. There is nothing remotely interesting here.

Animation seemed like it was going to fall apart. One last point the fansubbers this is project to steer clear from!

To be honest I didn’t like this, firstly I couldn’t connect much with the characters and their looks didn’t appeal to me, sort of the Kanon look.

The story of this first kiss is a short one, and when you start an anime called “FIRST kiss story you expect it leading up to the first kiss, but since it starts with the first kiss (about 2 min. into the episode) it sort of spoils it, but then it’s something new and respect for them to have done this.

There were some CG in this, and the end one is especially nice. Sound and music was fine, at points very good, what you expect really, nothing more. Still I give credit to it.

This failed to attract me because of the fact that the story of love normally needs more time, even though I didn’t expect much from a 20+min OVA, I was still rather disappointed by this, coming from the game, I suppose if you have played the game, add another 3 points onto the score. As a standalone anime though, this isn’t what you should watch. Stuck for animes to watch? Then you may be forgiven watch this.
