| Speed Racer is the first anime I ever saw. I saw this even before I knew what anime was. Overall it sucks and I would never watch it now. I hate nascar and this is like an anime version of nascar. When I was a kid I just watched it whenever it was on. I thought the car was cool back then with all the cool gadgets. If you want to know more read on.

| Probably THE oldest anime I've ever seen. I remember watching this on cartnoon network while I was younger, and I can never forget the MACH car that this guy drove. However, this anime never really appealed to me. the worst worst worst part of it was the animation. Sure it was old, but they reused the same 'speed racing' scenes repeated over again. For this reason alone (on animation I wouldn't recommend watching this)
The characters don't really change from episode to episode either. The only interesting thing is that the main character is pretty "cool." He never is beaten and doesn't have any annoying character personalities.

| I always thought that it was good, but not from the dubbed version. I saw most of it subtitled and it had some good areas that made it enjoyable. The animation and music added its own charm from making the whole series worthwhile. I usually hate comparing this with the new anime; but I think should've done something with the coloring on the animated designs. However, it was just worth seeing it these episodes that made the whole genre as good as it was today. And that kid and that monkey, I can never find myself understanding why they don’t seem to get caught when they were always being followed, but still it was just too funny to watch them of not being anyway. Fun to see it once, if your really are an actual anime or shounen fan.

| Speed racer is a classic anime aobut a racer that solves crimes, using the Mach 5 car. Its more like James bond but the setting is a racer.
Its nice to see, but as old anime's during that time, the graphics, sound, story are one of a kind.
I would not suggest in watching this now, since there is a better speed racer version of it.
