Empfehlenswert!

| This is a nice Lupin movie and though its not as good as The cagilastro one, this comes quite close to that one. This is one is a slightly complex and not as straight forward as Cagilastro one.

| I reccomend this to all Lupin The 3rd fans. A really good 91 minuete special. I am surprised that I'm only the second person to review this Lupin special because it has a very decent story and is full of things you wouldn't expect like in the tv series'.
Animation - The animation is top notch for a 2004 anime. What I really liked about it was that the fact that you felt the graphoics were like the old school Lupin series'. Also it shows a little bit of CGI but very little which is a plus for me because I'm not abig fan of CG in anime.
Sound - It has the music from the TV series which makes it have the old school series feeling. The voice acting was nothing short of average and was impressive in a lot of scenes.
Story - well the story had a lot of twists I mean a lot but in a good way. Well fugiko was captured the bad guy put something around her neck. Then telling Lupin to get some bulls eye artifact or Fugiko gets it. fugiko was in on the plan with the bad guy then went back on Lupns side. I will notspoil the story for you.
Characters - There is a lot in this Lupin special. A lot of betrayal between characters especially the bad guys. They perform quite a bit of fight scenes but nothing cheesy.
Value - I think any Lupin The 3rd fan will appreciate this. I can see myself rewatching this in the future. The subs were very good from the fansubs. Its quite enjoyable also.

| This is my first contact with the Lupin III anime. My verdict is that it's quite a clever, nifty kind of movie (or special or whatever it is). At first I was unimpressed by the childish comedy, but I grew to like this entertaining movie (or special or whatever it is). It's kind of like a mixture of Cowboy Bebop, James Bond, with some really childish, goofy comedy thrown in for good measure >_<. The music especially reminded me of the style of Cowboy Bebop. It's definitely a strange mix, especially things like the presence of that samurai guy in it, but somehow everything seemed to almost blend together by the end. I was able to accept most of this bizaar mix at least. The plot is full of twists and turns. At one point, I actually thought I knew what was going to happen, but the story then twisted out of my grasp lol.
For me the weakest aspect of this movie (or special or whatever) is its childish style and comedy... but I guess you already guessed I was gonna say that :P. It seemed especially out of place in light of some of the more serious and mature content contained in the later parts of the anime. Another of the weak points of the anime is it's voice acting, it's so shite that for a moment I thought I was watching an american dub... then I realised I couldn't understand any of the words. Some of the stupidness of the people in that anime also annoyed me a bit. I can't believe how easily some of them were fooled. Though most of the animation was pretty smooth most of the time, I have to say some of the character designs were a bit rubbish. I guess that's what you get when you make a modern sequel that has character designs that are consistant with the characters that first appeared decades back. The newly introduced modern, well done characters kind of clash with the old, design wise, and I found the end result kind of weird.
Though, as I said, I've not seen any Lupin III before, this movie (or special or whatever it is) has certainly made me curious about what else this series of anime has to offer.
PS hmmm I'm the 3rd reviewer! If the mods are kind enough to delete the other two for non-constructive review then I'd be the 1st reviewer :P
PPS Omfg! They have done as well! ROFLMAO.
