| Tactics is a 25 episode fantasy with humour, action, and drama, released in 2004. It is an anime that has its moments, but none of which manage to make it really stand out.
The quality of the graphics and animation in Tactics is pretty average. The level of detail and character designs are pleasant to look at, but do not impress in any particular way. Later episodes do have some computer rendered scenes, which are a very welcome addition in my opinion, but they do not appear sufficiently frequently to make a lasting impact. On the other hand, Tactics does not make any obvious graphical errors, or overly reuse existing scenes. Tactics, therefore, won't disappoint viewers in its animation quality, but will also not impress.
The theme songs in Tactics are subtle, and some might say the background music is overly repetitive. The voice acting is carried out by a very well reputed cast however, which also holds true in the English dub. As a result, some characters in Tactics are a pleasure to watch and follow.
Tactics has a storyline which has a very promising start, a number of interesting twists, and a decent albeit predictable ending. But, a large number of episodes in Tactics contribute only marginally to the main story, and some may even be considered as fillers. There is some humour to be found throughout the anime, but its frequency is scarce. Still, there are some episodes which are memorable in the anime, and as a result, Tactics does quite well in its storyline.
Tactics features a cast that is voiced to a very high quality. Therefore, many of the characters are very enjoyable to watch and follow. Character development is present, but it only focuses on certain key characters, leaving many other frequently appearing characters under-developed. Nevertheless, the characters in Tactics contribute greatly to the entertainment and humour of the anime.
In summary, Tactics is an anime with excellently voiced characters and some very nice plot twists, but still fails to stand out in the end as its mediocre animation, music, and occasional filler episodes prevents it from reaching its full potential. Still, Tactics will no doubt still be a highly entertaining anime for younger audiences, to whom I would recommend this anime. Casual viewers of anime might also like Tactics, but Tactics will not be able to satisfy the expectations of serious anime viewers.

| tactics is one of those animes tat refused to take risks with their plot. o_o this show has a nice promising concept to start with -- a kid who has paranormal skills to detect & exorcise spirits, a real good-looking spirit-eating partner to back him up in times of need.
however, tactics seems to be so proud of their initial concept tat they decided to stick to the same thing the whole way through. no obvious character development. no depth in storyline. just the same routine over and over again.
all in all, if u like the first ep of this show, congrats, u get to watch another 20-something episodes worth of the exact same formula.

| Pretty much, this was good. I'd give my enjoyment rating a 7.5, but that can't happen. It was funny, sweet, sad at times, mysteries, and cute (with a hint of shonen-ai ^.~).
Sound: It had 2 awesome song; the beginning and the Ending songs were great. I also like the voices; I think it suited everyone's personalities.
Story: It could get a bit repetitive but each story gave a different lesson and it seamed different even though it always ending up with some exercising a ghost. The thing this lacked was background information such as why does Haruka be afraid of that ying/yang sign, or how it Ichinimi*sp (the other guy XD) get that scar on his chest?
But the ending was sweet and funny, And the hints of shonen-a, a few blushes there, a few hugs there, there was once when they slept in the same bed, and just exchanging sweet line of friendship to each other.
Characters: Can't say much, they were all lovable and annoying at times ^.~. But they lack the background info to explain how they become who they are...I mean I never seen an anime that never did that.
Overall, I still enjoyed it to the very end. Each case just reviled and new lesson or a new idea, that's what, kept to keep on watching this. The biggest flaw though was the lack of information. That's all.

| An overall good series, Tactics is both humorous and has great-looking guys. However, I did not find much plot or much action. The ending was weak and the episodes do not much lead to a main storyline.
The most surprising and moving part was the ending, but after the initial surprise, everything was predictable. In the very end, I feel as if the creator had realized that he did not do such a great job with the most serious part so added a little cliff-hanger in the end, which was a bit lame, in my opinion. Someday if a second season of Tactics does come out or something, I will be eagerly anticipating it just to see what will happen, but this anime is definitely not on my top favorite list.
My recommendation is thus: if you like fantasy and excorcism (but it's simple excorcism, not complicated ones) and comedy, it is the perfect anime for you, but do not expect a great plot.

| Overall a good series, although it did fall down in some places as many other viewers have noticed.
The animation in tactics was on the right track, and the scenes were really well drawn as were the characters. Character design was not a problem, they had good faces and expressions and all.
The story wasn't so brilliant. They all seemed to be filler episodes at first glance, and though they're not boring to watch, it does get repetitive because every eps yields the same kind of conclusion and result.
2D characters? Yeah, you could say that. There was hardly any character development, making them just people with faces and no insides. Things likes history or background of the characters was almost nonexistent.
Something which is strange is the way Kantarou acts from eps 1-8 is slightly different from his attitudes and values later on in the series. Where did all his respect for Haruka go?
The occasional humor was a good asset to tactics, but the element of horror is worth praising even more! I enjoyed watching all of the heart-battering scary moments! All were thrilling!
The music was good, especially the introduction and ending themes. You'll find that most of tactics is either silence or creepy hooting sounds in the background. It just goes to add to the scariness of the anime. The lack of storyline and character development is compensated by the chilling happenings in each individual eps.
To conclude, tactics is a nice anime to watch at night (because it gets scary at times!)

| Given my liking for most period-drama-animes I decided to give Tactics a shot. Though the theme song and the superb animation I thought I was in for a real treat.
So where did it all go wrong?

| I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of Tactics. It was a mix of comedy, the supernatural and even a hint (and I mean a very slight hint!) of shounen-ai.

| tactics took me by suprise and a good one at that. Its been a while since I have seen such a refreshing anime such as this. Haruka and Kantarou are now some of my favorite anime characters.
My favorite relationship between characters in this anime goes to Sugino-sama and Moo... te he te he
I highly recommend this anime. tactics is more comedy than action and drama, but toward the end it does get a bit more serious. Last episode brought tears to my eyes.

| This isn't an outstanding series. The animation isn't impressing considering the year of production, and the music is average; I like the intro of the opening and ending songs but the entire songs aren't enjoyable.
The storyline is alright, I find it interesting. The characters are decent but fun nevertheless (especially Kantarou :).
....
But you know...screw all of it. This anime is great! It completely caught my attention until the very end and I enjoyed every episode. I was aware of its disadvantages and weak points but somehow I managed to ignore all cliches and stuff. Really, you should give it a try because even if it's not the best anime out there, it's a very amusing one.

| Tactics is a very good anime. When you like Tokio Babylon you will also like this anime. Well 25 episodes to the end are very very short to show the Complexity of the story, but when you want to know more about the background, you should read the manga. The characters are very human. The monsters are very cute animated. This anime includes much humor and mystery. The animation is typical for shojo mangas and remind the viewer to Detektive Loki.
all in all i like tactics very much, but it is a pity, that there are only 25 episodes, this series need some episodes more to explain the background and build a round piece of entertainment.it stopped in the peak level ;_;

| It takes time for the story to develop, and when it does it's very thin. It's more like there is a small story to every episode. It makes you feel like something is missing in the end. The story has so much more potential. The characters are pretty standard nothing too extrem or too natural.
If you are intrested in folklore this anime should get som extra points, it's really intresting to watch juts because of the diffrent ghosts and such.

| The animation is not bad. There are times its got some well done animated effects but not the best of this time.
Not a lot of sound tracts, quite simple.I hated that violin like intro of the opening song ( if you hear it again and again). The voice over is ok.Haruka got the cool voice. The characters is a funny mix.
Different story per episode but they finally put a deeper plot with regarding to Haruka's past and the relationship developing between Haruka and Kantaro.
I like this anime but I hope they play on Haruka's past more and tie the episodes more together, like Samurai Champloo.

| This is a pretty good anime. It has a very Kenshin-esque feel except with priestly magic and spirits instead of swords and bad guys. Some of the characters are cliche while others have very unique twists to what you thought would be cliche. The overall story is mostly episodal, with even mixes of humor and seriousness. There is climactic action in nearly every episode, although nothing that really gives you goosebumps. The revolving storyline is not terribly deep, however, with the currently revealed insights has great potential to turn into something excellent. It has quite possibly the best intro I've ever seen, both in terms of music and production. There is not much in-story music; if there was, it was so subtle I did not notice it. I look forward to finishing out this anime.

| Animation: OK. It's pretty 'moddern', though for a 2005 anime you would wnat something more... 7/10
Sound: So there are some sound effects but... no music (apart from some samples played in the same time-places of the story - eg. the invocation or monster attack". The voices are done nicely. 5/10
Story: So far (10 eps) there is NO story. At first, after Haruka was surprised he wanted to kill a goblin, I thought that some story was about to develope. I was wrong. Every ep is the same. There is no story-line. Its only about investigating, then releasing the demon. Only demons and ppl possesed change. 2/10
Character: Why everyone has to be baka?
4/10
Enjoyment: I think I'll stop now with this series.
Do you also have a feeling that this season lacks in nice animes?

| Right so far i've watched the first episode only. And I must say that Tactics is a really *pretty* anime. The artwork is lovely, clamp-styled. From the scenery to the characters, it's aesthestically appealing. This is definitely what I call a visually pleasant animation. But It does has it's quirks. Like in the very first episode, there's already lesbian action... which makes me wonder if Tactics is going to be one of those yaoi anime, lots of pretty guys with a filmsy plot to keep the anime running.
The 1st episode didn't make me go forthing at the mouth, and anxious for the next one. There's no suspense, no intrigue. It's definitely below animes like Full metal Alchemist and even Kyou Kara Maou (that had me in stitches though the plot is non-existant). At times of the anime, I was cringing at the utter cheesiness of the plot. Boy has an alter-ego that has superpowers. Boy wants to gain greater power to perhaps be Hero of the world. So Boy unseals Really-Powerful-Monster by shedding a tear, and claims ownership by naming Really-Powerful-Monster as Haruku. And together, Boy and Haruku defeats the evil demon of episode one. Yeah. *Rolls eyes*
And the OP and ED is ... as bad as Samurai Champloo..
But still I'll watch the 2nd episode. Why? Cause Haruku aka Really-Powerful-Monster is a cutie. And I'm all for cuties....^^

| Updated review.
Well... 26 episodes later, I must say I liked Tactics. It's a pretty average anime, never outstanding, but it succeeds in catching one's interest. The ending was nothing special, the series seemed... unfinished.
Overall, Tactics is average but interesting. Worth a watch, if you don't mind overdone stories.

| I originally gave this a nine for story after watching 3 episodes but I have changed that to a seven after eleven. There are no set number of episodes, so I don't know when it is going to end but after 11 episodes, this anime has become essentially episodic. It seemed like there might be more to it in the beginning but there has not been a hint of an underlying arc since. The animation is still very nice, and the episodes themselves are amusing but I like an underlying arc. This is basically just Kantarou gets a mystery, solves it by the end for every episode now.
Update: There is the beginning of an arc in episode 12. The main villain of the series appears. Not sure how they are going to go with this. 12 and 13 seemed to be actually going somewhere storywise then 14 and 15 just went back to the formulaic one episode shot. Will update upon more episodes.

| From the first episode I can say that this looks like a promising anime series, it's done by the same studio as Gravitation and Kyou Kara Maou! so I hope there's some shounen-ai.
I'll rate the story once I've seen more of the series, I hope it doesn't turn in to a clone of Matantei Loki - Ragnarok.
The first episode introduces the main character, 'Kan-chan'. It starts out with when he was younger, he use to be bullied because people would make fun of monsters, and monsters were his friends. He wanted to find the Tengu that's stronger than a Ogre... to become stronger him? I was a little unsure on his motives why, it seemed he wanted to as a way to prove that monster weren't disgusting creatures. The problem was, the Tengu had been sealed away, so he needed to go in search of where he was sealed. I won't give away the rest of the first episode, but it was pretty good.
Note: I'll update my review when I've seen more episodes.
