| Well this anime is truely unlike any other in one major respect. While its story is completely lacking to the point of ridicule, it is one of the most heart warming fun animes of all time. Every time I discuss this anime with other anime fans the same thing is always said. "It makes me so happy when I watch it." If you are wondering how, look no further than the characters. The characters are the very definition of the term "feel good." The funny thing is that when you think back to the serious you can think of maybe 2 or 3 episodes worth of plot and the rest is just the characters interactions, but that being said I love watching every second of this anime. This surprises me since I usually care more for plot development than anything.
Long story short, if you are having a bad day, watch a few episodes and you will feel better. Its like chicken soup in the form of anime.

| I was very impressed with this one. I bought the box set out of randomness as I wanted to watch something new. So I wasn't really expecting much out of it.
I was actually in for a surprise when I started to watch it. I figured it was going to be a typical Anime love story, in many ways it is, though what sets this one apart from the rest is the humor.
There have been only a few shows that have made me laugh as much as this one. Not only that but the story itself is highly engaging from start to finish.
In many ways this show reminds me of Love Hina (one of my all time favorite shows) though I do feel that this one is actually better in many ways. Mainly because the feel of the story was constantly engaging and humor that fit quite well into the mix.
The character themselves were also done quite well. For the main characters, they are extremely well done and with great depth. Though the one thing that disappointed me is that some of the supporting characters were quite shallow. Though this is easily overshadowed by the main characters.
Anyways, all in all this is an excellent show. And I would highly recommend anyone who is interested in romantic comedies to give it a try. Even if you don't care about one of the two, you should really give it a try as it excellently fits into either or.

| This will be a short review since it was typed at 5:30 AM and my memories of the first season aren't very fresh due to me having completed it a few weeks back. I suddenly felt like expressing my opinion about the series before my memories become too fuzzy, so...
The story is simple: A guy (Keiichi) with bad luck has bad things happen to him constantly, a Goddess (Belldandy) takes pity on him, allowing him to have 1 wish and the guy rather bizarrely requests that the Goddess stays with him forever. From that point onwards the other main characters are slowly introduced, including characters such as Skuld; a young Goddess who wants all Belldandy's attention, and lots of comedy follows.
Ah! My Goddess (AMG) is what I've come to call a 'circular series', and by that I mean it's the type that goes around in a seemingly endless circle of comedy episodes that advance the plot very slowly if at all. But, thankfully, that isn't a bad thing in the case of this series - The main characters are all likeable, the relationship between a wimp (Keiichi) and doormatt (Belldandy) is as entertaining as it is cute and the series clearly had a fairly high budget. You'll end up glad that Ah! My Goddess is the type of series that will continue until the money stops coming.
AMG is a show that just about anyone from either gender should enjoy. It isn't a series for the sort of people who can't enjoy anything without blood and guts but I find it hard to imagine anyone else disliking it. If you want an easy to watch or a 'girlfriend friendly series' that's almost guaranteed to make time pass in an enjoyable manner then this most certainly is it.
I've moved onto the 2nd season (although I've put it on hold for the moment) and I still enjoy watching it just as much as I did when I started. I highly recommend continuing the series with that once you get through the first season - It's a direct continuation of what you'll by then know is a high quality series.

| Is a contract simply something written on paper, or is a contract signed with the feelings of Love that much more? Ah! My Goddess asks this question, along with the concepts of good, of evil and the value of sisterhood.
Conquer your fears with the characters as they not only learn to grow, but also to grow together.

| When I played the first episode and viewed it from beginning to end, the first thing that popped into my head was....”Wait, this is not ecchi?” I think a lot of people are under the misguided impression that this show is all about the “T” and the “A”. Just pervy, ecchi stuff all over the place. So I guess for those who have never seen this show but has always been a bit curious ...lemme just say, right out the gate that this show isn't ecchi. Not even moderately. But maybe it should have been, because this show is rather too wholesome it bordered on bland.

| It took me a while to bring myself to review this anime. It simply is a very underrated anime (please make this on the top 200!). I originally thought of this anime as an ecchi or somewhat close to one, but this anime, simply said, really swept me off my feet. For full reviews please read on!

| the other AMG media have been around for a while and its influence cannot be denied.
however, this is a totally underrated series in its own right.
the animation is great. vibrant and fluid. the designs are modern (later chapters of the manga) and beautiful. how can i complain? sometimes the motion from the CGI during car scenes is imperfect but that's nitpicking.
sound. thank god they kept the original seiyu. no one else could do belldandy's voice. seriously. the opening and ending songs for both seasons are amazing. i believe they are celtic-influenced fused with japanese pop (probably has to do with the nature of the norse gods they represent).
characters. belldandy is unbelievably better than her OVA counterpart. at first i was skeptical because she's even more clueless and lacks common sense about humans. but i grew to love her so quickly. she definitely wasn't my fave character in the OVA (far from it). OVA belldandy had no presence. the relationship between her and keiichi is believable and touching. keiichi is different here too. he's more cynical yet more confident. it's puzzling and certainly causes self-conflict and with others. urd is just as hilarious as ever. and sexy. skuld has her moments though is still irritating to me.
AMG-TV follows the manga closer than the ova ever did and adds a couple new stories as well. my only complaint is that it moves slower than it could. pretty slow. yeah. they could have combined the first two seasons into one. trim the filler. also halfway through the season they attempt to focus on a character we've hardly met. cut that.
10/10. very underrated. i'll be waiting for the 3rd season as long as it takes. please?

| Ever since the release of the the Ah! My Goddess OVA, fans have been waiting for a long series to be made. It took a very long time but at long last, their wish (no pun intended) was granted. Many of these fans argued that the OVA was just plain too short (and I do agree) and that it would be so much better had they made it a full fledge TV series. Others of course, argued that the reason the OVA were so good was because it was short. So exactly which side is correct? Ultimately, that is for you to decide after you watch this. Before I continue with the review though, below are some other information about this anime:

| I think this anime may be way overrated because the ideal thought applied in this anime seems pretty dull and chessy. Some people have claimed it as their one of their favorite but not exactly mine and i think it is more dedicated for fangirls.

| I loved this anime. I thought it was a bit simple, but quite enjoyable nonetheless. Some people say that the first few episodes were boring, but I enjoyed the Keiichi + Belldandy storyline and I enjoy the development of their relationship.
It is pretty true to the manga, there are parts where it changes up a few things here and there and skips some chapters, but pretty decent with keeping with the manga.
Fun, light hearted anime to watch. I was quite happy with it. I enjoyed it greatly and hope you will too.

| Ah My Goddess TV is probably one of my most anticipated anime series of the year. I am a big fan of its manga series and a bigger fan of the author, Fujishima Kosuke. Upon finish watching it though, I have some mixed feelings about it.
The animation is great, although the first few episodes might need some tweaking, the subsequent episodes were spot on, great designs, and great animation.
The seiyuu is just perfect here. I truly believe Inoue Kikuko gave one of her best performance as a seiyuu. Her voice is really what I would imagine what the voice of Belldandy is. The bgm and theme songs are great. But the voice of Belldandy alone really makes this anime worthwhile to watch.
The story is a bit of an up and down. While it follows true to the manga, I somehow feel that this makes the story boring for me to watch. I knew the events and the outcome already, seeing the anime version doesn't really do that much more. It's like playing the PC version of a game and then playing the exact same game on the PS2. Around episode 19+ however, the story improves by a lot. Not that it deviates much from the manga counterpart, but it includes some details and subtle changes that the manga didn't have. I would venture to guess these are the better version that didn't make it into the manga before. I especially love the final conflict, I believe this is much better than the manga version of it. Belldandy and Keiichi really gives off a much stronger impact in the anime than in the manga there.
The characters are all the same as the manga version except for Belldandy and Keiichi that has some small changes to their personality. I believe that Belldandy is more direct of her feelings to Keiichi, it only happens really late for the manga. Keiichi also seems to be a bit more open to his feelings by just a little bit, but that makes him slightly more realistic.
Overall, I'm a bit bore by the first 18 episodes or so. But after that, the story is perfect, I only hope the second season of AMGTV would be more like the latter part of this season. But I would have to say no AMG fans should miss this anime series!

| AMG has a lot of badge going for it. The name AMG is as big as Sakura Taisen series if not better. But like the name, both series are ok, but not great. The original OVA was way better than this. WIth this you get a 25 eps of really character development with really little plot, which only unveils in the end. Its not for everyone, but its ok, not worth to keep it though.

i recommend this anime to people who enjoy watching love stories such as love hina and green green tv(even though it was really perverted).

| Ah! My Goddess! Is a memorable anime containing stunning graphics, amazing soundtracks and very unique and funny anime characters, but is let down by the poor storyline in several episodes.
The graphics and animation are top notch. Very well drawn and smoothly animated, nothing to complain about at all, and that also goes for the brilliant soundtracks. However, there are times in my opinion when the music doesn't really fit in with the atmosphere.
The storyline is quite a let down. The series starts very well, but eventually the episodes lose their addictiveness as the storyline doesn't seem to flow through. Each episode seems totally isolated from the next, other than the occasionally newly introduced character appearing without an introduction. There are also a few episodes which were just plain boring - a big let down especially when the previous episode was very entertaining.
The characters in this anime are all very unique and well voice acted. Most of the time it's the personality of the characters that makes the boring storyline interesting to watch.
Ah! My Goddess! is not an anime to be remebered for its story at all. However, its music, style and characters makes it an anime worth watching.

| I announce this as the most underrated anime ever. The animation should be in the nines, and sound in the eights, everything- it's underrated. Don't listen to what others say. Sure, don't watch this show if you don't like slow paced anime, but Ah Megami Sama TV is a refreshing, beautiful show. The only thing I don't like is Belldandy's voice, but hey, that's just minor. People are saying that it is boring. Okay, well it's supposed to be slow paced. You can't go into this anime expecting some kind of action and drama- this is a romantic comedy. It's supposed to be slow paced. Deal with it. I haven't seen the OVA or Manga, but I loved this.
Animation- The animation is excellent. It's clear and there are never any deformed faces. It's beautiful and always flows nicely. I love all the coloring because it's very bright. Also, the designs of the characters are great.
Sound- I loooove the opening. It reminds me of Haibane Renmei's opening, free bird, but with vocals. Like I said, I hated Belldandy's voice but that doesn't make me dislike the series in any way.
I will write more later, but I absolutely loved this series. It's close to perfect for a romance/comedy with a bit of drama in it. But hey, I love slow paced, filler type anime, so I guess that if you don't have the same taste as me you will hate this.

| Hmm, in honesty, I can see people either really liking or really disliking this anime. From the other reviews I've read, the big thing is the pace of the anime that people don't like.
In reality, the storyline in the anime is more or less snagged directly from the manga. There were a few bits that were changed here and there, but more or less all of the major plotlines were taken from the manga. As well as alot of the 'filler' episodes that people have disliked.
Bear in mind that the OVA's and Movie were DRASTICALLY different from the actual serialized manga that was printed in Japan and by Darkhorse here in the US.
So my reccomendation is that if you love the manga like I do, you'll probably love the series. If you thought the manga was boring and dry, then don't come into it expecting the same pace that the OVA's and Movie had. The tv series is more about the romantic comedy and less about moving the story at a quick pace.
If you've never read the Manga? I say give it a few episodes. If you're not digging the pace after a few eps, this probably isn't the anime for you.

| I think I have a Goddess-overdose. I was really excited that one of my favourite manga was going to get a full-length tv-series. Maybe some things are best left dreams.
The OVA was cramped but enjoyable. With the longer length I hoped the TV-series would have more of character development but somehow we end up with an endless row of filler episodes. Everything happens so slow that my jaw is close to dislocate. It's fun allright but not enough to justify this slowness. Those deep emotions that were present in the movie, OVA and the manga are gone. I never felt Belldandy's and Keiichi's love was something special here.
Even the characters seemed to have lost some of their sparkle in the process. Belldandy, Keiichi, Urd and Skuld have been the soul of everything good in the series. Now I find myself staring at the screen and thinking: "Damn, that Skuld is annoying..." They even went and messed Belldandy's character design! Some things should be untouchable! Following that the animation is ok but after the movie it doesn't make any impression. The opening and ending songs are not that good with some annoying country feeling and bagpipes.
Even if this series takes its stories straigth from the manga, it hasn't got much left that made me buy those overpriced Dark Horse albums. For this anime to work they should've cut some episodes away and introduced Urd and Skuld faster. And they should have build the characters better. Now they remain more or less a mystery for a very long time.
As an introduction to the series the OVA works much better and for art and story telling the movie and the manga are much better. The TV version remains a funny series with some good scenes but far from anything truly enjoyable.

| This has to be one of the most boring anime TV series that I've ever watched... Episodes 1 to 20 were just there for the sake of filling up the bulk of the series, that means nothing out of the ordinary happened during this period. Its just your everyday life occurances with a small incident as the theme for that particular episode. The only part of the series which showed any semblances of any storyline is the last 4 episodes. But even then, the story was too weak and way too short to be any good at all. Period.
I'll be fair and say that the animation, illustration and sound quality were well-done, but this is to be expected from a 2005 anime series since it's new afterall.
I was a fan of the AMG series, having watched the OVAs and movies. I even have the mangas... this TV series just isn't doing AMG any justice. Very disappointing indeed!
The bottom line is that Ah! My Goddess TV has a plain-as-tapwater romance with several lame attempts to create humour...and it isn't even funny...
