For the newly optimized Hentai Neko and this revised write-up, I had to suffer—again—going through a video that was so forgettable, I only remembered it for the hot blonde best buddy. I think this guy was the precedent for the signature blonde dudes that many male viewers complain about in newer hentai features. But we'll talk about that later.

First things first, for a mid 90's anime, this isn't too bad. In fact, the artwork and animation are still comparable to recent "digitally re-mastered" titles out there. The hentai details are at par with the latest releases, but the love scenes are pretty much conventional—nothing to cringe or cry about. Since I watched the VHS and am not aware of any changes they made in the DVD, I could honestly say that the English dubbing is one of the worst I have ever encountered, both for Keisuke and his best friend Toshiya. Keisuke sounds like his balls are being vice-gripped the entire time. Even my gay best friend sounds straighter than he does. Toshiya, on the other hand, sounds like a member of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Characterization can use some improvements. I remember hating the lead so much that I lamented in my original opinion, "Oh, no! Not another plain-faced insensitive wimp with a girlie voice! He would have been a better character if he had a spine, but he's a user. He can't survive without his friends, whom he takes for granted and treat like shit. What makes it all the more confusing is that girls are throwing themselves all over him. What planet does this guy exist in anyway?"

The women in TriAngle remind me of a bishoujo game gone bad. You have your typical big-breasted secret admirer (though personally, I don't see what she sees in Keisuke), a tomboyish childhood best friend, an annoyingly perfect wet-dream girl, and then there's a nurse. The nurse is a detour from your usual plotline, an excuse for people to drool over more animated nudity.

Ah, and there's the hunky Toshiya. He's blonde. Handsome. Tall. Smooth. Good Confidante. Gentleman. Read: NOT clueless... He should have been the main protagonist of TriAngle. In fact, I finished the entire tape only because of him. That, and the fact that he doesn't hide anything (he he) during lovemaking
