| Negi Springfield, a child prodigy, graduated from the magic academy at the age of 10. To limit the risk of mages being exposed, each graduate is sent on special training to interact with modern society. Negi is then sent off for his real-life training to be an English teacher to a bunch of middle-school girls in Japan.
On Negi's first day while running to school, he ends up accidentally embarassing a girl on his first day who just happens to end up being one of his students, Asuna Kagurazaka. Unfortunately for Negi, Asuna accidentally figures out he can use magic. Negi agrees to help Asuna with her romantic crush on another teacher in exchange for keeping his true identity a secret.
Overall, I couldn't help but give perfect 10's in all categories! I had the great pleasure of reading this manga and watching the anime version.

| The manga is really a great work of art. I still prefer Love Hina over Magister Negi Magi however, I will say its because I liked the genre of Love Hina more than the fantasy/magic plot of Negima!. The manga itself was solid. Don't watch the anime because it will disappoint. However, the manga reall never dies although it shifts in plot often, it never really dulls and so its a great overall work.

| This follow-up to Akamatsu's "Love Hina" is longer and BETTER than it's preceder. Though several ideas were taken from Love Hina, by no means is it a carbon copy. MSN is about a 10-year-old mage by the name of Negi, who goes to the Mahora school campus in Japan to become a teacher of a weird class of 31. It's a hell of an entertaining mix of harem, fanservice, SHOUNEN ACTION, and magic; Harry Potter meets Dragon Ball Z (in a good way) with RPG elements added to it. Once you get past the Library Island arc, it's one addicting read. (And from the reviews from the anime adaption, don't watch it - stick with the manga and just imagine it being animated by better animation companies like GONZO or KyoAni >_>.)
Design: The art is very enjoyable, but the character designs are good at best, mostly due to the art style of Akatmatsu and the lack of detail in some places. Oh, and the cliches/stereotypes each one is built upon (which is actually what makes this manga fun...). Action scenes are GORGEOUS and the angles are better than the action movies nowadays. And the angles on the fanservice are exotic.
Story: Once you get past the Library Island Arc and start on the Evangelion arc, it's one hell of an addicting read. The magic side of things are catalyzed by RPG elements and other supernatural explanations (especially the difference between Magic and Ki). However, some arcs tend to drag forever (the 9-volume long Mahora Festival...). However many arcs Akamatsu needs, he does develop the story and characters engagingly well. Very fun and intense!
Character: 31 classmates built on stereotypes and cliches and normality, with some exceptions who are mostly engrossing and mysteriously deep. With that many girls, Akamatsu can take all the time he wants! Some are near carbon-copies from Love Hina, but that doesn't matter. After over a hundred chapters, though, I still only know less than half their names! As characters get introduced, characters get developed; as characters get developed, new characters get introduced. Wow. Did I mention how MOE and LOLI and AWESOME the characters are?
Value: If you enjoyed the wildly popular Love Hina, I recommend you this. If you're looking for some shounen magic action, seriously read this even with the harem elements and a boring initial 2 volumes worth, because it just gets better and better.
Enjoyment: Even though some arcs are draggy, it's been an addicting read - 100 chapters over 5 days is not addicting enough? Weekly waits are painful.

| Wow...This is one of the most amazing manga I've ever read. Everything about it was amazing. The characters are all incredible, the plot is addictive, and it's really something you don't want to stop reading once you start.
Don't watch the anime that was based on this manga, just go straight to the manga. Believe me, you won't regret your decision.

| Negima follows a young boy who, while training to be a Magister Magi (a level of magician), is assigned to be a junior high English teacher. He's forced to live in the dorms with two girls. Some of the girls take to him and some don't. One in particular seems to be mean to him, but deep down, she likes him too.
