| I came across this title without knowing what it is in the first place. It seems to share a rather similar story like Evangelion, with invaders attacking Earth. There are a bunch of kids with psychic powers (naturally) who could stop the aliens. The story focuses on the main character as the plot unfolds around him. Now, this could've made for a nice storyline, except with the following nagging flaws...
Animation wise, it's not bad, althought this is made after 2000 so I expected more. The hand drawn sceneries were nice and realistic though. The character designs were below average, not very appealing. That goes for the mechs as well, with exotic and weird looking mechs that look like they were made out of paper. The invaders look like something from Evangelion or RahXephon...very similar. The battle scenes were disappointing as well. Even Evangelion that was made years ago, had better battle scenes. The fight scenes here consist only of throwing glowing kinetic energy at each other with slow paced melee combat...yawn.
The sound was very forgettable. For a Sci-Fi series, they used old Japanese music which doesn't seem fitting. The op theme and end themes were nothing to write home about.
The story is....slow.....I mean very slow. It literally crawls. The given atmosphere is very calm and sleep inducing...It feels like something big is going on and people in the town watches it like it was some kind of boring drama happening in the sky. There is no suspense at all, to make you want to see the next episode.
The characters are boring. They need to have more interactions. The jokes they make are rather lame as well...
Overall, I wouldn't watch this again. I would only recommend this to people who really, really want to see a rather "unique" version of teenagers save the earth storyline, but then again there are better options out there.
