| Okay, Firstly, the animation is really simple & the art is Just like the kind you see in a Simple Animal Comic or a Simple Children's Comic book. It's far from something you can call "eye-catching" but i suppose the style fits this anime's genre. though the Characters' faces are sometimes switched between the chibi simple animal mode and normal-anime-characters-cosplaying-in-animal-costumes style. I think this anime was meant to be a kid's show. But if AnimeNFO.com didn't say that this anime was made in 2005, that i would never have guessed it... The Animation looked like as if it was made in the 1985?!
The Theme songs were Funny in its way. The Opening theme has a Goofy & Care-free style, though the ending theme has a nice tune, for some reason. (O_O)... I was thinking, this anime didn't have a really big budget,so that figures for the "not-so-good" animation, & the very goofy opening theme. But the ending theme strangely, had a nice tune. (O_O)
Now, what can i say about Damekko Doubutsu. I seriously think this show was meant for kid, after all, it IS pretty childish with full of useless animals interacting with each other and sometimes holding very useless celebrations. Umm... depending on your sense of humour, you might probably think this anime would bore you to death, but then, i guess i don't really mind childish animes. So I kinda enjoyed it a little bit.
I'll praise Damekko Doubutsu for having a wide variety of very unique characters, and coming up with sooo many animals with such unique "useless-ness"... Only Character development was seen in some characters, but nothing exactly out-standing.
I don't exactly have much to say about such a childish anime. Ifyou have noticed. This Anime Has 26 episodes, & each Episode is only 7 minutes long. Well, the theme song is about 1min 30seconds each, that makes it 3 mins for 2 theme songs. & one episode is just 4 minutes of comedy. So I basically finished this in about 2 hours... There was some character development in the main character, and there was nothing really much or deep in this anime. Just Plain Childish Comedy.
So if you're looking for some childish comedy, or something to just smirk at, Damekko Doubutsu is a Short, Simple Anime that is just right for that job

| I place a high importance on comedy anime actually being funny. Damekko Doubutsu, a story about animals that don't do what they are supposed to, is one of the funniest anime I have ever seen. Yes, the jokes don't ALWAYS work, but when about 80% of the episodes have me laughing uncontrollably, that is a very good sign. Admitedly, this isn't the most memorable anime (aside from the "people dressed as animals" gimmick), but it is almost consistantly funny. I would imagine this type of humor isn't for everyone, since it is very broad, slapstick-ish, but I found it to be one of the funniest anime in a very long time.
And I almost cried at second-last episode...shut up u_u;; The characters get to you!!

| Damekko Dobutsu is one of those little fifteen minute fillers that you would catch after a movie on TV. It has a very unique cast of characters.
It's aforest of useless animals, in other words, animals that are the complete opposites of their true natures. This makes them very amusing to watch.
There's no real underlining story here. Just a number of seeminging pointless situations that revolve around Uruno, the newcomer of the forest.
The characters appera to be humans in animal suits, which add to it's charm and uniquness. No one is serious, and if they are, it's usually about love.
I really think think that anyone can come to enjoy this anime. It dosn't require a lot of thinking to watch and by the time it's over you'll be smiling. If nothing else, it'll make you feel better about yourself.

| What a cheap, low budget anime
The animation looks like it was made in 2000. It's terrible. Simplistic, plain chibi designs; bland backgrounds; jerky, small movements. I know it's meant to look cute, and I suppose it does, but rating it against other anime it looks really bad. Cool colors I guess, but who cares?
The music is very fast and hyper. The vocals and music weren't very professional.
The characters were silly, fluffy entertainment. The wolf reminds me of Shigure from Fruits Basket. The smoking rabbit is pretty unique. The Cheeta was cute. I hated how the characters would briefly change into human size every so often. A pathetic attempt to make this show more serious.
There is no story. This show is the Untalkative Bunny for anime. It's filled up with random events. There's little value. It probably has about 200 episodes and (if it does), they are probably ALL fillers. If this was shown as a transition to other anime, they would be decent little 'shorts' but as far as I know, it's not.

| I was wondering when this would come out. Odd and muddling when you start watching this. Not really much of a storyline, due to the shorten episodes and sudden comical mayhem that seems to come with it. Opening music was pretty corny and didn't give an ending theme as well, but it did had some average Seiyuu from their roles and less given specific personal trait. The concept just had a bunch of overly cutesy and rowdy characters, dressed up as animals. And has this amusing way of changing from a chibi form characters, into its regular and good-looking type of poses that it created as if it wasn't peculiar enough. Not as somewhat amusing as Ebichu, but had that similar appeal to it nevertheless.
