| Fairly oldstyle, though this should not be read as a quality statement. It just doesnt'come together: The Characters act to shrill for my taste. Mikami behaves just a bit to harsh to be likeable - earning millions to billions, spending millions on talismans an treating her not to bright but ever horny underling tadao like shit.
Theres just no real conflict going on: She's perfect, everyone else dumb as a brick - you get this after five minutes, and there's nothing added in the rest of the show.
It doesn't hurt to watch, but you don't loose anything when you don't.
I liked Phantom Quest Corp better.

| You know, Ghost Sweeper Mikami was competing directly with a couple of similar series at the time, namely Yu Yu Hakusho and the Phantom Quest Corp or something like that. I only caught a few episodes of it...but hey, somebody's gotta review these old animes, right?
To make a long story short, it competed, and it got blown out of the water. And frankly, if you're getting blown away by Yu Yu Hakusho, you've got a problem. It lacked the action, the drama, the comedy, or even a decent plot to string it all together. Perhaps the only thing it had going for it was that Mikami was sexier that Yuusuke...and that was probably working against it since we all know half the people who watched YYH were really fangirls who dreamed of the day Kurama would boink with one of the male cast members. Rose whip? Really.
Ghost Sweeper Mikami can be funny, but it's not worth your time to dig up this old relic of an anime. Still, it had a fairly decent run as things go.
