| I'd wanted to see this movie for a very long time and today I finally found a version to watch and although I can't say what I was expecting it to be, what it was entertained me enough and made me smile a few times ^__^
If you think Cinderella meets modern dance, then you might get an idea of what this 30 minute movie has to offer.
To me it felt almost like a dream sequence (maybe one of Tsukasa's more appealing fantasies about Tsukushi *lol*) and it definitely had an ethereal feel to it.
Recommended if you love Hana Yori Dango and wouldn't hurt to watch it as a stand alone movie, coz prior knowledge of the characters or basis for the real HYD storyline is unnecessary!

| Well...first of all, this is only half an hour, not 1.5 like it says on the main page. And I am not familiar with Hana Yori Dango at all, but this movie is not half-bad. It's only about a quarter bad.Not to mention it's the first/only musical anime I have ever seen (I mean that as in an anime where characters use songs as dialogue, although there is never any duets, there are three scenes with song dialogues/monologues, althoguh twice it is the same song).
At times, it seems like it's just going through the motions of what is supposed to happen, but what keeps it from being a completely dull paint-by-the-numbers affair is the style which this possesses. The character designs are very cool, the dance sequences are very interesting with (what looked to me like) a mix of hip-hop and ballet. The character and plot development is far from first rate, but this is so short, it's a very pleasant, if forgettable watch.

| my turn to review!
DON'T WATCH THIS UNLESS YOU ARE A FAN OF THE TV SHOW!
thank you...
seriously though. the point of this movie was "the OP animation to the TV show is weird and has nothing to do with the show, so how bout we make a mini movie about the making of the OP animation".
this is the ONLY purpose of the movie. it is not meant to be anything meaningful.
it's just a cute little something that was made for fans of the TV show and manga. toei makes mini movies that they show together during vaction time in japan. this was one of them.
i couldn't give characters a high rating because they don't act the way they are supposed to. the story is nonexistant, so i couldn't give that i high rating either. everything else is top notch.
if you are a fan of the TV show and manga then watch this, if not then pretend this movie doesn't exist.
