| Here is Greenwood is a thoroughly enjoyable little OVA, filled with fun and interesting characters and has one of my all time favourite songs as it's ED theme "No Brand Heroes".
If you like older anime and can overlook the very old fashioned style, this is something you should definitely check out.

| Greenwood was an enjoyable series. All the episodes can pretty much stand on their own except 5 and 6. Episode 1 can be confusing, but I recommend to finish the series, then go back and rewatch episode 1 if you had problems with it. The characters are all interesting and well developed for just 6 episodes. The only downside to this anime is the animation. Being that this was done in 1992 it is understandable. The characters all look extremely similar to each other and everyone has very broad sholders. Once you get passed this the series turns out to be quite enjoyable.

| This anime is really really good. There is alot going for it, even though its only 6 eps long. The animation is alot like Goldenboy but goldenboy was a lot later than this. The animation even though old, but the design is certainly up tp date. Like Fushigi yuugi.
The sound is ok, but slightly childish side, even though for high school students, it seems that the seiyuu is abit childish for some of the characters. The BGM is 90's. The SFX is 90's. It does give an idea of what object is making the sound of the object but thats just it. The BGM looks like it came from Totoro.
Characters are one good bunch. Designwise are very unique, right to a point of you cannot guess which is male and female. Aside from that most main characters which look great, the rest are quite normal. Its not so much of a character development anime but base more on storywise.
The story is set in a male boarding school with lots of activities which are quite normal in the type of schools but this is actually the first time anyone has ever placed it in an anime. The story though you might encounter it, but its actually somethign that is different and does not occur all the time. And each episode has a different story.
Its quiet a nice anime, quite good, and really something very well done for something really really quite old. This is one of the old anime's which you can keep and see.

| Great stuff. The anime done in 1992 and it not old at all. The animation were great, the sound and love story were terrific.
OAV consume some summarize story from where Kazuya live in the highschool dorm call "green wood" Lots of interesting people live there and it seem very fun. Althou Kazuya was a little bit too dense for everything and he have sense of humor, it really fun to see how other people making fun of him and make him do stupid things. Beside all the fun and jokes, there's one BIG romance in the story. They tell us a little bit ep. by ep. then you'll finially meet the Kazuya's soulmate and the biggest romance story that ever happen in Greenwood begin. Really old school romance. I'm sure you'll all like it.

| Very beautifully done from its time. The whole series was very witty and charming by the storyline to its decent level of animation. The music was also given in very well manner, with the ending lyrics, known as "No Brand Heroes", that made itself a fairly good addition to the whole series. The characters were exceedingly valued from their differences of personality as well as their friendship as the story progressed. Quite a few amusing and humorous moments on which I liked was when they were focused on Kazuya's love life. This seems to be a playful shoujo genre, in a very touching way. It’s too bad that it was fairly short. But in a nutshell, it’s still worth seeing. Very cherishing one as it ages.

| This was my first ever anime. So of course, as I am with almost all reviews, I am going to be a bit bias. Just because even if you didn't like your first anime you have a little space in your heart for it.
I've just reccently re-watched this series, last night in fact, and I have to say I love it even more. With the humor, and realistic characters it was just something to have fun with for a Friday night.
The animation leaves a lot be to wanted, but consider it was made a long time ago, plus the story and characters more then makes up for it's lack of beauty. Besides, for some reason, perhaps that soft spot again, I've always liked the older almost ragged looking style. I don't know why but it's always been in my favor.
The music although there isn't a lot of it is very nice. I actual listen to the theme song repeatedly I love it so much. Personally I think it wouldn't have hurt to have some more ... if they have a soundtrack I would get it. I'm not sure if they do or not though.
Now here is what Greenwood is all about. The story and characters. We all say, at least I hope we do, that we want an anime with pretty characters and at least a deccent plot. Well what about OK characters and a simply amazing plot for only six episodes?
It should be obvious to you from the start that Greenwood's key feature is it's humor. While it plays out the expected emotions from a teenage boy, those said emotions changing daily and getting more confusing as well, it also gives you the perfect layout of four friends hanging out and joking around. With pranks played, and embarrassing moments, it's everyday life just more entertaining.
The characters, although hard to tell apart from one another, provide a source of diverse personalities, and gender confusion. If I could I would run up to each of them and give them a kiss. In four characters they give as much entertainment as can take ten characters in another anime. All of them certainly keep you on your feet throughout the entire anime.
Now just because I feel the need to I have something to say about episodes 5+6. While episodes 5+6 are actually the "key" episodes the ones where the climax and resolution are reached I felt they were sadly disappointing. Not only where they rushed, really rushed, rushed to the point where it's all unbelivable, they just weren't ... good.
If you watch the series you have to watch these episodes, but I'm afraid you'll find they pale in comparison to the previous episodes. I personally thought 2+3 where the highlight of the series.

| A great ova we have here, one that really captures what it meant to be an ova from the early 90s. A beliveable and entertaining story, smart humor with an equaly smart cast of characters that each have diverse personalities, know exactly what's going on around them, and meld like clockwork. Heartwarming and humorous from start to finish, albeit slightly disjointed between episodes. Greenwood needs to be in anyone's collection if they apreciate classic anime.

| A lack of continuity and un-relatedness between episodes prevented myself from being drawn in. The story does pick up well towards the end and finishes nicely.
The characters are eye opening. Their level of arrogance is unparallel to any other anime that I have seen, however, you don't see this as a negative aspect of their personalities.
A little out of its time now, but worth a watch no matter. I'm sure it would have been a strong rival in its day.

| A delightful little OVA. Lots of strange characters and plotlines, and great comedy.
The title is kind of weird; I think even though 'Here is Greenwood' is the literal translation, 'This is Greenwood' might be better, because I think the connotation in Japanese is "this is what Greenwood is like, these are the people who live here, this is the kind of stuff that happens here, it's crazy, it's fun, come watch".
Anyway, watching the kids constantly teasing each other is fantastic, it captures their friendships perfectly and is very realistic, which is odd since the characters themselves can be rather strange.
Storylines are all well thought out, funny, and original. Even the ending was good, though there was not really a story that arced across all 6 episodes.
It'll only take 3 hours to watch the whole thing, so there's no reason not to. Go for it!
