| This is an absolute mixture of Sailormoon and DNangel. At first, this anime seemed really interesting. Although the plot and storyline was rather typical with magic girls etc type of story, I thought that KKJ was a lot better than Sailormoon as the stpry development was a lot better. It was unnecessary to make so many episodes. The story completely dragged on and on near the end. If it was cut shorter to 26 episodes, I would have enjoyed watching this anime a lot more. Rather than feeling compelled to finish it at the end. Not recommended for anyone who enjoys a lot of action. It will bore you...

| Despite the low score I give to Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, I enjoyed watching the anime; however, it has a large number of flaws, and there are too many episodes that feel like fillers even though there actually were no fillers.
As with Full Moon wo Sagashite by the same author, the characters are this anime's primary strength, though I wouldn't have continued watching had the story not had its characteristic twists, and light humor.

| Much expected of the magical girl genre, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne reflects a more positive, upbeat outlook upon life. One finds themes of courage, perseverance, and love pervasive throughout the course of the series, and, while slightly shallow, can see their simple, but true, merit. The classic idea of "carpe diem" runs slightly rampant among a largely episodic plot: no matter the circumstances, each character manages to enjoy their lives, thankful for each breath they have. Yet, while this might hint slightly toward religious precepts, a largely humanstic point of view dominates the majority of the series, despite the appearance of a good many Christian symbols. While a small deterrant from its enjoyability, a fault most philosophy inspired anime seem to possess, I would, most definitely, say I enjoyed the experience.
Being six, almost seven, years old, the animation does its job, but lacks some of the flagrance we see in more modern series. While character design and fluidity were standard, I could not help but feel, at certain points in the series, a bit disillusioned by the lack of interest in ambient backgrounds. Dull-colored stills are a bit too abundant, and, at times, seem to take some of the life out of KKJ.
Perhaps the most properly executed category of KKJ would be its soundtrack. Though both the opening and ending themes are a bit lackluster, they fall in my book as rather average tracks. However, KKJ does a splendid job where it counts: Background music and Seiyuu. Both do a fine job of really setting the bar of enjoyment, as I never once felt anything in the field of sound detracted my the series; in fact, quite the opposite.
When one thinks of magical girl series, the last thing they generally focus on as being good is the story. In all actuality, KKJ has quite a decent plot, even if a little predictable. The aspect of collecting the chess pieces in order to obtain strength was one of the hooks that caught me, being an avid chess player myself. By the end, however, I felt a bit dismayed that this aspect of the series was left largely unexplored. This leads into the low nature of KKJ's story score: execution. As with many series, whom display tinges of fascinating and original storylines, many loose ends were left not just undone, but unravelled. The latter half of KKJ, clearly rushed by the plethora of disconnected episodes toward the first half the series, leaves much of the story unexplained, characters open ended, and really doesn't satisfy me as a proper conclusion.
For much of KKJ, though episodic in nature, I felt strongly attached to the characters; for about thirty-five of the forty-four or so, I couldn't have been more pleased. Maron was designed much better than I had anticipated she would be: innocent and naive, yet strong and serious, matchless and marvelous, energetic and courageous. A catchy little motto, especially in Japanese, it's slightly contageous, as I could not help but grin a bit everytime I heard it. Chiaki, though by the end a little cliche, I must say is one of the better male leads I have seen lately: I actually liked him. As a matter of fact, I liked most the characters in the series, and would recommend KKJ solely on this aspect alone.
One of the best magical girl animes out there, I'm taking a stretch and saying its enjoyability extends beyond simply those who like the genre. It's a lighthearted series that's bound to bring a smile or two to one's day, with an interesting plot, great soundtrack, and involving characters to boot: as others have said, though it could have been condensed a bit (a lot), all forty-four episodes are a treat, and well worth the watch.

| Strong and Serious. Matchless and Marvelous. Energetic and Courageous. This isn't just Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne's catchphrase: it's also the moral theme lurking behind the scenes. These six attributes are what every young girl should aspire to be, despite the number of faults they encounter in life. Truly a positive theme to behold, and thus why KKJ is a strong recommendation from me for the shoujo genre.
I first discovered Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne from finding manga images, and I absolutely adored them. I read the story before watching the anime, including the spoilers, and found it to be a refreshing change from your typical magical pretty girl show. After watching the series, it was well worth it, even after expecting the spoilers to occur.
The animation holds true to Arina's style as much as possible, including the details in the eyes. I had problems with the later episodes where they began rehashing animation for Maron's transformation and monster sealing sequences, whereas this mostly doesn't exist in the first half. Plus, Maron/Jeanne uses different techniques and tricks to get out of trouble in the first half, but then she uses the same boring tactics for the second half. This doesn't ruin the anime altogether: I'm just saying that you'll need to have patience in order to appreciate KKJ.
What the second half of KKJ lacks in originality, it contains the beef of the story. In the first half, you're just introduced to characters and their basic stories, and it contains a lot of the filler episodes that helps to intrigue you, but nothing else plot-worthy. The voices are excellent, including the tinny-sounding Fin Fish. Maron/Jeanne is my favorite voice in the series: she sounds determined yet vulnerable at the same time.
I'm sure KKJ can be told in less than 44 episodes with the same effect, but it's not a disaster with all those filler episodes. It'll satisfy many things you seek in a shoujo story, like love, betrayal, hardship, trust, strength, hope, the gray area between good and evil, and so forth. Watch it: you won't be disappointed.

| Ah KKJ, a classic work by Arina Tanemura. You honestly just got to love it. The manga has a better plot only because (like the FmoS anime) the anime ended before the manga. Still the KKJ anime has it's good moments. The BM is very catchy and fits the theme of the anime. The character designs are alright but they aren't as good like the ones for FmoS. Like the FmoS anime, there are the really good character design for the episodes and there are the horrible, but hey they are trying they're best ^^. Overall I really enjoyed the series and I would reccomend this to any fan who likes or wants to start Arina Tanemura series.

| (heavily modified review)
I saw the last 9 episodes of the second season on RTL2 (not the best programm for anime but it is better than nothing), then read all the volumes of the very good manga and recently decided to watch all the episodes fansubbed by Anime Daisuki. I wish I hadnt. The first season up to ep. 28 was full of silly fillers and I was anxiously waiting for one good episode. For the first season only 5 episodes are worth watching.
THe second season (ep 28-44 ) is slightly better but since I had watched the last episodes already I fastforwarded whenever I could because I really wanted this anime to end. It had turned almost unwatchable.
I have to agree with the previous posters that the manga is way superior to the anime. The anime is pretty dull when compared to the manga.
Now as an introductory shoujo title it is pretty good and if you havent read the manga first and are 15 year old and this is one of your first shoujo titles this is watchable.
But for me, now after watching so many animes and much better shoujo titles this title is totally boring to watch.
The best choice is to watch the second season only if you're not interested in the manga. If an anime is bad not even the Japanese cast can save it. Besides there werent any huge differences with the German dub, except Fin who in the first season is the only character that makes the anime less dull.
To do justice I also write the scores of the first time I saw the anime: all categories then deserved a 7, and enjoyment an 8.

| How I started watching this I still have no idea, I was suprised it was a good while since I watched a Magic Girl anime show but it was rather good, for those who have seen it this is mostly like a girl verson of DNAngel with older and diffrent characters.
The animation and sound are soild but nothing speical, the opening musics are great as are the ends but the background is easily forgetable. Animation has its moments but honestly it just wasn't as good as it could have been.
The story is something a young teen girl would most likely love, I'm a older teen guy and I still was able to enjoy it but its very "Saturday Morning Cartoon" show then anything else, (Monster of the day, 1 move finishes everything, underdeveloped plot, ect) its still got a nice solid story and it was done quite good.
The characters are interesting, I found Maron's character as someone I think a lot of people can relate to should they admit it or not, shes had some past problems with her parents and its made her a very sad and lonely person, she still has help from her friends but I don't think she ever gets over the gap of her parents until the very end of the story, I liked the Fin character and wished we had more of her, she was very cute and loveable not to mention funny and very well done, sadly shes not in much of the second season until the end. The rest of the characters are intersting, you have the other thief which is trying to steal all of Jeanne's work, you have the insane detective trying to find out who Jeanne is, you have the police force (flunkies all around XD) and you have some other characters as well that are all intersting and well developed (including Maron's love interest)
I enjoyed the anime and I'm not saying you will, however if you liked animes like Sailor moon or DNAngel you will most likely like this.

| I love this anime, it has everything you could wish for from a Shoujo/Magical Girl anime. The characters are all wonderful and full of life.
I love the incidental music within the show, it fits each scene perfectly.
I am watching KKJ for the second time and if anything I am enjoying it even more second time around! I have also recently read the manga but I would choose the animation over the manga any day!

| I found this anime by accident, but after the first episode I was hooked. It's a total shoujo anime, but I think it might appeal to boys too. It takes a while to get to what I think is the climax, and the endind seemed too rushed.
The manga has similar aspects of the anime, but the manga is a better read, and better for details. The manga's ending also provides more closure, and there is more in depth background on Fin Fish and Access Time. If you haven't watched the anime, I would reccommend watching it before reading the manga, but you should still read the manga too :3 (Hint: If you do read the manga, read it AFTER you watch the anime, or don't watch the anime at all because if you read the manga before you watch the series, you won't be able to stomach it)

| *Havn't read manga yet*
The whole story base on manga(or so i heard). People telling me that there were more story and more interesting stuff in manga that anime version didn't included. Fansub trying to explain background and how they changed the patter between anime and manga, and i gave their credit for all the hard work.
Now, beside all of the relates to manga stuff. The anime start out pretty good(but yet not original). Theif in the night trying to steal thing, but it turn out to be angel with power who can seal demons. First half of the series was somewhat comedy. Follow a young girl who live as a normal girl turned to theif when demon was found. Struggles between the real person and one who hinding in the darkness the story goes on with comedy try to please the audieans. The second half is fill with trouble and sadness. Confusing at first then come with the bigest twist(we already knew). The ending is fine, everything came out as many predicted. They left the story between god and evil, Maron's family out, I wish they atleast do more ova to patch this end.
Watch it if you like romance/drama stuff and remember believe in god, otherwise don't watch this long ass series :P

| As much as I tried to get into this show, KKJ bored the living daylights out of me to be perfectly honest with you. I absolutley love Full Moon, and am more then welcome to give her other works a try, but KKJ turned out to be a purely shoujo version of DN Angel except that even less happens, and it's almost twice as long.
Each episode has Marin, the rencarnation of Joan of Arc, doing some stuff at school or whatever by day and come nightfall, she becomes the devine theif and begins on the chain of events that last for 98% of the show. Some peice of artwork of item of sentimental value gets posseded by a demon (in order to gain power and invade the human world. Etc, etc), the person connected to the said item becomes a grouchy form of themselves, Joan swoops in to dispel of the item, and vola... everything is back to normal.
There's the occasional roadblock that she has to deal with, such as the usless police or Sinbad, another phantom theif who turns out to be the boy she has a crush on 0_0 bet you didn't see that one comming. Like I said before, this makes up the vast, vast majority of the show. Only in the final 4 or 5 episodes do we find out what the heck is actualy going on with the characters and their relations to the bigger picture. The ending does a decent job of turning the corner into something that's entertaining for once as Marin and her best friend bond even more, we learn some more about her family, etc. But it's very much to little to late.
Kamikaze would have done much, much better had it been taken down to 24-26 episodes and had the majority of the filler taken out of it because it's boring and not at all fun to watch. I guess with anyone's reputation, not all their pieces of work are going to be as good as their best and this is such a case. Don't expect anything on the level of Full Moon wo Sagashite but if you are a hardcore fan of her work, give this a shot nonetheless.

| Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne (Anime) lacks a lot of the things that made the original manga a masterpiece. If it had included some of these elements and taken out the filler episodes I would of found this to be a great anime. But sadly that didn't happen so I don't recommend this show to anyone who is not a fan of this kind of genre. Fans of magical girl shows might like this, so check it out if you're into that kind of thing.
By the way, I do highly recommend the Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne manga. It only contains part of what you will find in this anime but has a lot more background information on the characters and lacks the terrible fillers found within this show.

| Not something I would normally pick up but since I enjoy Full moon wo sagashite alot so mind as well look up on other anime made by this person see are they any good.
Well, I hate to say it but if I didn't know better I would say this is so Salior Moon like. The only thing about this series is good is that is not as repetitive as SM.
I will say this is a cute anime but the storyline didn't go anywhere far until the end few eps which kind of reminds me of how they throw a fast one on you like in FMwS but in this anime its hard to make me fall for it this time around due to the SM like story which it ready isn't my thing.
Overall its still a good kill time anime to watch. For those of you are a fan of "shoujo" style anime, you should check it out just for kicks since there aren't any new shoujo style anime release likely.

| ErRrRr... this anime is like a direct mix of DN Angel and Sailor Moon. A thief stealing beauty with powers like sailor moon. I mean some of the characters in this anime can be directly related to some of the characters in Sailor Moon ~_~. I read the manga before i watched this anime, and well the manga is way better. The anime isn't anything like the manga. but then again i shouldnt be comparing the two. haha. Well the beginning episodes are really tedious cuz its just like the same thing over and over. the storyline is pretty good but the anime makes it kind of dissapoiting. i guess this anime is good to watch when youre bored :)

| Am I watchin Sailor Moon?? I pretty much might as well be. Almost every aspect I see, mirrors that of Sailor Moon, except Sailor Moon as more female characters. The first half of the series is quite repetitive with a very simple plot line. The second half is much beter with more twist and turns and unexpected events which turns up the excitement up a few notches. But that is also like Sailor Moon, a new enemy, a new power, etc... The animation is pretty bad, but then again it was made in 1999. However, still, the eyes on the characters are just way too big, almost alien like. This a cute anime series that would would just kick back and relax and doens't require much brain usage.

| Personally, I thought this anime was cute, had interesting characters, a simple plot, and the most annoying opening theme I have ever heard ^_^ At times, the storyline gets a little dull, but the emotion in the story (our heroine's growing concerns about what she's doing, and her relationships with other characters) is what kept me watching. The story is light and never very dramatic. It's nice to watch if you've been having a bad day as it is kind of uplifting.

| I liked this series not because of the magical girl changing and stealing demon spirited artifacts/art/masterpieces.
It was because of the romance part, which was pretty good if you asked me.
A better version of Sailor Moon, well... at least the main character can fight and that theres only 1 sailor moon and no other sailor scouts.
Its not sappy at all, its actually some what funny.
I like the drawing of "Toei Animation"
and the music is decent.

| Although the animation isn't topnotch and the leading woman looks like Sailor Moon there is still something appealing about this series (so far at least, only 14 episodes into it when this is written). The characters have tangible depth (although Chiaki is promptly unlikable) and one can easily sympathize with the main character.
Thus far my only complaint is the repetetive elements that follows with each episode; meet an aquaintance, aquaintance gets possessed, Jeanne to the rescue, repeat. There are still plenty of episodes to go though so I'm hoping for some break in the pattern and some more character development. Overal, likable series.

| I really do love KKJ, if not for anything but the wonderful characters. Maron is one of my favorite characters of all anime and manga. The story is great when it isn't a filler episode but sadly the anime consists of alot of filler. The animation is also a bit awkward at times, but I personally think its worth it for the characters.
