| This is a just below average movie in all respects.
Nothing is really up to standard, and the age doesn't help either of course. The visuals are nicely designed but poor to modern standards of animation. The StarWars similarities are abundant.
The sound was never very good, but didn't suck totally either. Some nice effects for the old days.
The story was not developed enough (hence a series to go with the movie), the whole thing felt like a pilot episode which, whilst understandable, wasn't a good thing. The plot didn't expand as much as it perhaps had the premise for.
The characters, whilst seemingly quite unique and different, had a forgettable aura. No one was very interesting or developed particularly well.
There is no replay value for this movie for me. There isn't any aspect of it that warrants me to come back to it. I enjoyed it a less-than moderate amount, and would perhaps recommend it to a StarWars fanatic only.

| I only saw this once when I was 7 years old and havent heard about it ever since. I really liked it a lot. I havent seen the series but I think that the movie must have been a little better in quality. For those who havent seen the series this long movie is a good replacement. It basically sums up the whole plot of the series pretty adequately and the final confrontation remains memorable. If you manage to find it give it a try. If not dont worry, there are better movies out there.
Since it is based on a novel you might opt for it instead, since the sci-fi ideas in Lensman are interesting
