| Mahou Tsukai Tai's OVA was a great watch, but it wasn't without its weaknesses. The short duration and many of its strengths covered for it though. The TV series continues right where the OVA left off, but not only has it lost some of its edge (the ecchi isn't as pronounced as before, nor is it as humorous), but it has shed what made it adorable, and it seems to just strut the same old gags we've seen in the OVA over and over again.
The TV series is a random collection of small conflicts, usually high school related, involving members of the magic club. There isn't a strong story line, but as it turns out, the episodic conflicts are pretty boring as well. The subplots of most of the episodes aren't well crafted, and with the exception of Sae, all the returning characters are not at all different from what they were in the OVA, nor do they change at all throughout the series. Even in the OVA, the supporting cast members were pretty 1 dimensional, likable, but not workable in a slice of life kind of setting.
Sae is still an internally conflicted character, but this time, more so about love than self confidence and self doubt. She has also strayed just a bit from her pristine childish innocence and shown some sexual frustration. The fact that we get to see a post-pubescent side of her does add a new layer to her personality, but her self confidence issues are what made her special, and it's a downer that those issues don't have the focus in the TV series.
This TV series reuses the same gags from the OVA repeatedly for comedy, but seeing sae hit her head the umpteenth time and Takeo go off on some nose bleeding fantasy when someone simply mentions that they're going to change every episode, naturally, you'd be numb to its effects. In the OVA, the same gags were at least a little fresher, and they were more varied than in the TV series as well.
The TV soundtrack has a lot of the same tracks as the OVA's, but it's got a couple of new BGMs, all of which are bland, and contrast very strongly with the well orchestrated, dramatic pieces lifted from the OVA. The animation quality has seen a decline as well. Simple Flash style motion tweens are used all over the place, but the comic animations still remain unique.
Mahou Tsukai Tai TV is a minor failure by normal standards, but a largely dissapointing failure considering how poorly it follows its predeccessor. It seems a lot more like a spinoff than a continuation. The characters remain largely the same, but the TV series completely changed the premise, genre-shift style, and the OVA characters just can't save a poorly designed high school slice of life anime.

| The biggest difference between this and the OVA is the emotional aspect. Whereas the OVA was a ecchi comedy, the TV series takes on a more serious tone, with more emphasis on friendship and human nature.
There is still plenty of humour, but it takes a bit of a backseat.

| After watching Mahou Tsukai OVA, I had to watch this one. Upon finishing I feel as though this anime did not meet my expectations fully, but to say this is a bad anime series would also be a flawed statement. Anyone with a like for a harem comedy have no reason to not like this anime.
This anime does everything they did right in the OVA again in this anime; that, however, is its problem. Magic Users club OVA was very enjoyable because it was concise (6 episodes). The anime was too short for all of their jokes and storylines to get old. the characters everytime presented something fresh and funny. This anime, now 13 eps long, uses the same thing over again till the very end. Of course the storyline is new but the essence of the plot does not change too much neither do the characters bring anything new to the table.
That being said, if you enjoyed the OVa there are no reasons to hate this anime. Aburatsubo, my favorite character, is again very funny and Sae is always cute to watch. Takeo's fantasies got old by the end, but he also is a very fun character. The mickey senpai could've used a lot more development, and Junno-Kun as well. everything at the end seemed to collapse into one place, which hurt the anime a little bit. But considering the material pacing could've been definetely faster.
the animation stays the same from the OVA. You've been this type of water color-ish Gainax animation in Mahoromatic. Character designs are again very funny at times with eccentric facial expressions. Music is not the most entertaining feature of this anime. OP and ED were both ok but I found myself skipping them everytime... well it take a lot for me to listen to them everytime. background musics are reused for the most part, or it was not distinctive enough for me to tell.
If you've seen the first anime and like it, you should pick this one up as well. All the same fun stays the exactly the same. Of course if that's not what you want, this isn't for you. If you just looking for some harem comedy, I say this one is highly recommended along with the OVA (which is the prequel.)

| Mahou Tsukai Tai TV is a continuation of the OAV. With high standards and high expectations set by the OAV, I expected much more out of this anime.
Don't get me wrong, majoy tsukai tai is a good anime. Good not great. Some may say that it's only a shadow of it's former self.

| Magic User's Club OVA was a fun and different anime. It is short but near perfection even with today's eyes. On the contrary, it turned out that this TV series was an unnecessary continuation of such a great series. Almost everything is dull repetition of the OVA and severely lacks refreshing idea.

| In an attempt to follow up the OVA, Mahou TV takes an olympic nose-dive. Level of animation drops and the quality of story and character interaction follows close behind. While there are still moments of amusement, they are few and far between as the story becomes redundant and cliche. By the time episode 13 rolls to a close, you're happy because the suffering has ended and the OVA is no longer put to shame.
Unless you watch the OVA prior, you will probably find this show terminal.

| I've never seen the OVA and thought before watching this, it was a show about wanting to be a witch and making people happy with cute magic stuff. I hate animes with magic but this is different. I really like this series!
Lots of fanservice than I expected. The comedy in the show is also great. I caught myself alot of the times laughing at just the expressions on the characters faces than anything else(especially Takakura).
I think this is a very under rated anime. Its worth checking out

| Not as good as the first OVA
In the beginning the continuation of the OVA was good (same story, same sound, same animation and so on). Although the focus on the characters is bigger which is a good thing.
Problem with this show is that they do not know how to end it. There are strong insinuations but nothing is concluded that is to bad (that downgraded the show for me a little bit). Second there were a lot of meanigless episodes and the contiuation of the storyline was sometimes lost.
But still worth a buy.

| Mahou Tsukai Tai TV (MTT TV) in one phrase: more of the same.
MTT TV is just an "OK" anime. I have to say I was disapointed. The OVA is one of my favourites, sure I would expect more of the TV episodes.
Stills fun, lovely, cute and clever, but it's story is worse than the OVA story. Not that it's a "bad" story, it is just "average". To me, MTT TV looks like a little "dissipated", "diluted" on it's own duration. I'm sure that if it was shorter, it would be better.
This one is for those people who really like the original Mahou Tsukai Tai - but beware your expectations. ^_^
----------

| A decent continuation of the obviously higher-quality OVAs. More Sae tripping, more Aburatsubo hitting on Takeo, etc. The DVDs also have some above-average outtakes on them, some even funnier than anything done in the episodes themselves. I was rather unimpressed with the plot, but that didn't detract from the fun.

| the tv series, though not as good as the OVA's is still an excellent addition.
my biggest gripe with the tv show was that the music is awful (in my opinion). i didn't like the OP or the ED, unlike the OVA which i thought had amazing music.
the story is more of the same. it picks up where the OVA leaves off. there is a big mystery involving a new character who shows up. who is he/she? you'll have to watch the show to find out! the love interests are still the same, and i was hoping for something to be resolved, but you know how anime is...
this is super cute, just like the OVA's. and honestly besides the music i wasn't really disappointed with anything. the animation is still great, but not as great as the OVA. it would be silly to expect it to be though, this is a tv series afterall.
if you loved the OVA then you MUST see this as well!
