Orphen Revenge should not exist. There are two significant rules that follow the making of a sequel: One being that the original work must be good and popular enough to warrant a follow-up. The second is that the original must have an ending with just enough plot holes, cliffhangers, or open-endedness to carry out or continue the plot. Although the epilogue to the first season promises other adventures, the ending itself leaves little to the imagination and more importantly, it was also an average (though in a good way) and undistinguished anime. And considering that sequels are rarely better than their predecessors, what could Orphen Revenge possibly offer? ...Other than one of the most ridiculously stupid storylines and characters flatter than my bust size, of course.

Contrary to what many may believe, the first episode can make or break a series. The “it gets better later on” argument is almost always wrong and I can judge the merit of a series from one episode alone (I’m usually right too.). I didn’t have to do much judging for Orphen Revenge. It didn’t take much to realize that a series that has the gall to open with a filler, fanservicy hot-tub episode can only end as crappy as it began.

Not a bad comedy fantasy series. We get to meet the same characters from the original series. The series is more standalone its nature with a backdrop plot. Only the last few episodes finally structure everything out and the backdrop plot is quite nice. This is one of those "monster of the week" shows which tires itself quickly with its repetitiveness.

There are a few good things: for one thing the comedy is nice and its fun to watch if in the mood for something more light hearted. The downside is the characters are still the same from the original. Suffers from zero growth and even addition of Licorice is no real help, only in the last few episodes she's bearable.

In the end wouldn't really recommend watching this if you did't like the original series. As this is an inferior sequel to an average series. Below average.

I don't why they have to make a sequal for this series in the first place, the original wasn't interesting enough to begin with and there's nothing to show more in future ep.

Let's get to point, first 15 are crap. They just hopping town like they used to, but since this new girl came thing start to get messy. Cleo still useless as ever, Magic still sux at magic, orphen turns into a pig or a double reflect of volcan. Speaking of Volcan, he and his slut brother still pop up a lot and made more annoying comments. I really hate thouse side chars, not only they didn't have any brain but they aren't any fit role for them either. They're garbage of garbage of this trash series.

If you want to watch. Try a couple ep. at first then after you saw the red hair women STOP and fast forward to around ep.15, it for your own good. Trust me, I wasted a lot of times for this junk.

the animation really sucks, and either the sound. on the other and the story is better in this show than in the first one (this is more serious for some aspect, at least in the second part an about what concern licorice: the first part really sucks, it's a comedy not very well done), and the characters are deeper. i still like the first one more but also this one is good.

What a letdown of an anime when I think about what could have been a great second installment of Orphen (which happens to be one of my favorite adventure animes)

The story is a total letdown. Unlike what the discription says, you learn nothing about orphen's past...or the pasts of any main characters for that matter. Azalea, who was basically the focal point of the plot in first season is not mentioned even once ._.

Instead we have Orphen and the gang not doing much more then being led around by a new, mysterious, girl that wants to give orphen a job with a global knight organization (which turns out to be a trick...bet you didnt see that comming)

Hartia got some more screen time then he did in first season, which was nice.

I'd recomend this for hardcore fans of orphen just so you can see the second season, but thats about it.

As the other reviewers say, this second part of Orphen is quite different from the first one. The begining is quite disappointing: it is funnier than the first season, but contrary to that one, the plot seems rather absurd, with Orphen fighting against a different ridiculous monster in every chapter and a lot of nonsenses. BUT from chapters 10-12 onwards, with the apparition of Esperanza and the first suspicions about Licorice's past, the story developes in a manner that constantly arises your interest, discovering more clues in every chapter until the confrontation against Alcarena in the spectacular final episode.
This maintenance of the interest in the plot is the strong point of Orphen Revenge, whereas the weakest ones are: the whole 9 first episodes, a slightly lower level of animation than the first season and the little profit taken to such secondary characters as Elis, Ray, Leticia and even Hartia or Flameheart, who could have given much more of themselves.

Well, it is quite enjoyable but it is slightly different from the 1st series.
The 1st series had a more serious theme while the 2nd series was more light-hearted and comical.
