| Not what I would call an intense or thrilling installment of One Piece, but it was a very humorous little offering that was fun and very enjoyable.
The animation isn't quite as nice as some of the other movies, but the characters are back in fine form from the disaster that was movie #6, there's a little action, a lot of laughs and an enormous pair of wobbling bosoms for Nami (those things were hypnotic! I reckon she must have swapped some of the Skypiea gold for a boob job on a previous island *lol*). One other thing to note is Robin is *hot* in this and if I were a guy.......... *lol*
Overall, worth a watch for a bit of light hearted entertainment in good old One Piece fashion ^__^
Quick note: Watch this after the Skypiea arc and G8 arc, but before Enies Lobby!

| Keine Frage: One Piece rockt die Bude ohne Ende und zählt für mich zu den besten Shonen-Animes aller Zeiten. Auch die Movies die ich bisher gesehen habe boten gute bis sehr gute Unterhaltung auch wenn sie inhaltlich nie an die Brillanz von Eiichiro Oda heranreichen. Dies ist allerdings nicht der Fall bei diesem Film. Das die Story vom Ablauf her das typische Schema eines OP-Movies bietet ist klar (Luffy & Co. landen auf einer Insel und nach kurzem Hick Hack steht Luffy auch schon dem Oberbösewicht im Kampf gegenüber um ihn standesgemäß wegzupusten) aber von der Idee her ist sie ziemlich albern und langweilig noch dazu. Der Film zieht sich ellenlang und mir wurde sehr schnell fade dabei zuzusehen wie die Strohhutbande versucht das Rätsel der Schildkröteninsel zu lösen ohne das zwischendurch irgendetwas nennenswertes passiert und nicht mal der Showdown ist sonderlich spannend ausgefallen. Hinzu kommt ein wirklich lächerlicher Bösewicht mit völlig behämmerten Handlangern (die natürlich wie üblich das Kanonenfutter für Zoro und Sanji darstellen). Sein Motiv ist nichts als simple Weltherrschaft und aus ihm einen Mecha-Freak zu machen damit Luffy zum Schluss gegen riesige Roboter antreten kann, ist viel zu befremdlich. Oda hat schon hier und da ein paar skurrile Einfälle in die Geschichte eingebaut aber Mechas und Piraten? Das passt einfach nicht und noch weniger in die One Piece-Welt…(ich hoffe Oda lässt sich davon für zukünftige Storyarcs nicht inspirieren *grusel*) Was “Karakuri Jo no Meka Kyohei“ noch gerade so auf den Beinen hält ist die gewohnt gute, typische One Piece-Comedy, die für einige lustige Szenen sorgt. Allerdings treibt man es zuweilen zu weit damit ständig die gleichen Jokes (von denen man etliche sowieso schon aus der TV-Serie kennt), immer wieder aufs Neue aufzuwärmen. Irgendwann fand ich’s dann auch nicht mehr lustig Luffy bei jedem Scheiß “SUGOOOOOI“ schreien zu hören oder zu sehen wie Sanji, Nami und Robin zum hundertsten Mal anhimmelt. Was noch erwähnenswert wäre ist der leicht penetrante Gebrauch von Fanservice in Verbindung mit Namis Brüsten. Muss es wirklich sein ihre Oberweite bei fast jeder Bewegung auf und ab wippen zu lassen? Ich bin der Meinung, One Piece braucht so etwas nicht, aber den einen oder anderen Fanboy wird’s wohl freuen… Tja, schlussendlich hat mir “Karakuri Jo no Meka Kyohei“ nicht wirklich gefallen. Die Story ist viel zu lahm und durch seine sehr alberne Natur vermag dieser Film eher abzuschrecken als zu begeistern. One Piece-Fans wird’s wohl egal sein, die gucken sich den Streifen sowieso an aber ob jeder am Ende zufrieden sein wird mit dem was er mit diesem Movie geboten bekam wage ich doch stark zu bezweifeln.

| This One Piece movie is about one of the lamest I've ever seen out of the whole series. While the animation is really nice, they spend way too much time on a lame ass villain and his mechanical inventions. Furthermore, Chopper's new voice actor is the worst choice ever. He sounds like a rubber chicken when compared to the old VA. About the only noteworthy aspect is that Nico Robin looks really hot in this movie or Nami...
So back to the lame villain - he's a mecha otaku who likes to use his "brains" rather than brute force to solve his problems. From the beginning, it is obvious that he's fooling them for their help on the riddle (which contains really bad puns). His mecha machine defense force is really lame (clowns shooting arrows? yay). His two side kicks are stupid as heck and everyone is just ridiculous. But then again, these movies haven't really been known to have cool villains - they're mostly just ridiculous in some sort of way.
Story progression relies on pure chance events due to Luffy's random actions, and eventually we have this huge event turn out which eventually renders the first half of this movie null. In other words, it begins with boring plot build up, turn of events, invasion against the enemy, and the end. I wouldn't have minded this so much if only they had more crew interaction rather than having most of the crew stand around doing nothing. I've had it up to here with Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper doing their stupid reactions - which this movie seems to love.
I'm a great big fan of One Piece, and I am more than forgiving when other people find this to series to be ridiculous, but this movie is ridiculously lame. Unless you're a Nami fan (her boobs are bouncing half of the movie) or Nico Robin fan (she has really stylish clothes in this movie) stay away from this crap.
