Kage Kara Mamoru is the tale of Kagemori Mamoru and his childhood friend Yuna (or Yuuna, depending on whom you ask.) Mamoru's family has vowed to protect Yuna's family from whatever comes at them. Mamoru's family is also a ninja clan as well. Together, they go to school and have various adventures together.
In addition, there's a distant cousin of Mamoru, Yamame Hattori, a samurai woman named Mappatsu Tsubaki, another ninja named Sagawashi Airi that are after Mamoru.

Kage Kara Mamoru. Hmm all i can say is that that this anime has a laughable plot. The characters i have to say isn't really balanced out that well. We got the good the bad and the ugly. I mean we got Mamoru the one who looks a retard with the glasses. But then super cool in his ninja outfit (i think). We have Yuna the complete idiot. I've never seen a dumber character yet. And then we Yamame a relative of Mamoru. I don't know what her role is at all. Except she loves Mamoru? And we got Hotaru another ninja but in a different clan. First fights Mamoru but then falls in love with him. Then we got Tsubaki a samurai or a ronin. Yeah a clueless girl about the world. Only her sword is what makes her conscious. And finally Airi the noisy rich kid girl. Now we hit on to their voice. Ugh. Some good some bad. We got Mamoru whose got annoying talk as a normal boy. Then we get these other 2 ninjas and ronin. Their voice was alright i guess. Not to great not good in expressing emotions. No. Yuna and Airi probably were the best. They had good emotions. Good at yelling and being embarrassed.

Well the idea of the story is weird. I'm not saying the story is bad, but what makes the story happen. A tradition to protect your neighbors? Well we got ninja and dunce. What do you have? Yes PROTECT YOUR NEIGHBOR. However the ending was just all messed up. Just because of Yuna confessing to Mamoru. That screwed up big time. But i guess that's where everything got serious. Well the thing that made me keep watching it was the comedy. Yeah it made me laugh a few times. So yeah it was enjoyable for me to finish it.

My first thought after finishing Kage Kara Mamoru was: How long will i remeber it??
After one day had passed, i had already forgotten about its title. So i am going to review as long as i can remember it.

Kage Kara Momoru uses the usual ingredients for an anime of its genre. Take a too-good-to-be-true guy and a lot of girls who seem to fall for him without any reason. Then take a weak story that is dragged dramatically to the last episode and most important, you should leave some space for the second season.

The animation was way too plain and the fighting scenes repetitive. The sound was probably the best about Kage Kara Mamoru. The opener was very catchy though the voice annoyed me in the beginning. In the whole this anime is very loud and i sometimes muted it because i could not bear it any longer. I dont have many words for the characters. They pop up out of nowhere and fall in love with Mamoru. Then they are friends out of the blue and seem like childhood friends. I dont get it.

Overall i enjoyed Kage Kara Mamoru!!! It is very easy to watch and after a hard days work, you can fall asleep without worrying about missing important details.

In appearance, this show seems to ride one the "Ranma 1/2 train." But it actually tries to do it a little differently. Being only 12 episodes and having a small cast is a good start.

It also helps to find that the male lead, Mamoru, has some sort of spine. AND ninja skills. Despite dealing with the type of work he does not want to to, he's pretty good at it.

Animation: Fairly done, crappy most of the time, good in some parts, I don't know why, why don't they just make the whole thing smooth and good?

Sound: I like the opening, it's very cute and welcoming, then ending is weird, I don't mind about it since I usually just skip that part.

Character: That Yuna really needs to grow up... I'm fed up with those clumsy and ditzy girls who can't survive without some sort of a shadowy-secretive bodyguard... The main character, Mamoru, is a very cool guy.. Originally, he is probably the first geeky main character whose really handsome behind his nerdy glasses character I've seen so far during my lifetime. I find this interesting. The other girls are rather sterotypical characters from annoying to old traditional girls and to the type who won't shut her mouth up. You can just say that they're all annoying.

Story: Hoping that the story would have gotten better after the disappearance of Yuna and the banish Mamoru from 10-11. This anime could have been better if there was real drama (there was, for ... a time being.. very short though) and emotion and expression and some serosity. If there was, then I would be so intensed into the anime and could almost feel that I'm reaching into the anime, but I was not, and it failed to present that. The ending was unforgivable... It just ended as if nothing happened, and watching all of the anime episodes was useless and a waste of my time. I couldn't believe it, I thought that dumb ditz would actually grow up and learn how to walk on her own. It was getting real good there, until... Banana..banana.. banana.... banana de banana.-----!!!

It was happy and rather optimistic, but it ended with a no development issue. Hoping that this anime would have lasted a little longer, because this anime seem to be rushed too much and little story development was involved. Why did the directors didn't make this anime to a 20-ish instead of a 12 series? Because of budget, they had to save money-- for the sake of the company, anyway... If you want to watch serious drama yet an optimistic aura, then go and watch NANA. It's by the same author as Paradise Kiss, and both of the series are just as awesome.

Value: ... 8/10

Enjoyment: I enjoyed it fairly well, but the ending screwed me over.

Dodododo--

... Banana, banana, banana
... Banana, banana, banana de ba-na-na!
... Banana wa doushite kiiroi no?
... Sore wa shingoki to onajiriyuu
... Isoganai to chairo ni nacchau kara
... Dakara isoide tabete ne
... Banana wa souitteru no
... Dakara banana wa kiiroi no!!
... Banana, Banana, Banana
... Banana, Banana, Banana de Ba-na-na!

wow, this is one of those animes that should have been a 26 episodes anime instead of 12 episode anime.

the humour is very down to earth and the characters interactions with each other is awesome.

This anime is very similar to Ranma 1/2 in the fact that the episodes are situational and that the series could go on for ever...there's no real story other than that its about a boy who has to protect a girl becuase of a 400 year family promise, other than that the stories go all over the place from aliens abducting humans to Kage having to venture into a Mine, battling Gold protecting Mole Monsters to Breaking into a State of the art security protected Mansion in order to return a trinket.

Another great thing is that Kage Kara never turns into a harem anime even thought the character structure is 5 girls 1 guys, Its just a Light Hearted funny anime that ended way to quickly.

Very well done so far, Kage kara Mamoru's light atmosphere and sense of humor makes it so enjoyable and funny! I Can't wait for more episodes.

As the story unfolds more girls are introduced and fall inlove with Mamoru causing tension with his relationship and duty to protect Yuna

Yuna, being a klutzy ditzy high school girl is a task in itself for Mamoru,

-He has to deal with his Parents. Who do nothing but poke fun and can somtimes get on Mamoru's nerves.
-He also has to deal with Yuna's best friend who is extremely "jealous" of the time that Mamo takes with Yuna. and is always one to yell at him for it.

This is a story about a ninja whose entire family has been sworn to protect another family for generations.

The thing about this comedy is that it isn't afraid to make fun of itself.

It shamelessly represents both ninjas and samurais in an over the top manner that at the same time makes the characters look cool but at the same time laughable steroetypes.

You'll have to watch it to see what I mean.

The main characters are Yuna, the ditzy girl next girl who always has to get saved by the ninja.

And Kagemore Mamoru, the ninja boy. He wears weird looking glasses as a "disguise". Much like Clark Kent.

Unlike most heroes he is very lazy and has a laidback attitude that tends to piss off people like Yuna's best friend and the samurai girl who will soon enter the picture.

And yes it soon seems that the girls start to develop a crush on Mamoru although for their own reasons.

But a lot of shenanigans ensue. Including an 'idol contest' where Yuna sings her banana song...

Hilarious. You'll have to see it to believe it. So stupid its funny. That's all I'll have to say about that.

Oh and the op/ed song is VERY catchy! One of the best I've heard all year in terms of catchiness. Wish I had an mp3 of it. I can't get tired of it!

Anyways Kage Kara Mamoru is a very well done comedy that does not take itself seriously.

Check it out and I'm sure you'll enjoy a few laughs as long as you take it for what it is, a light hearted comedy about a ninja and the girl he is sworn to protect.
