| I watched this straight after J season and skipped the OVA.
I liked this series much more than the first. Especially the Xian arc and its conclusion made this one of the most memorable titles I watched.
To enjoy this it is better to watch both season at once and skip the mediocre OVA.
One of the most enjoyable series I had the chance to watch. If you're interested in older series this is one of the best choices.

| The 3rd season is actually a prolong of the 1st season and has little left character update. As 26 eps its a failure as the first 13 were nothing at all, and the the last 13 is actually the story. Its easy to get fed up with this anime because of the first few eps and you really need to see the whole lot to appreciate this

| This show really pissed me off in the beginning. The first several episodes were fillers, but sometimes that's not a bad thing. They did build for story a little bit, but that isn't what got me angry. What ticked me off was everything else up to the last few episodes. The problem is the show doesn't do "serious" very well. It felt the only way the people responsible for making this show to portray certain situations was to go crazy over the top with the "NOOOOOO~!" screams in the rain... or something. And then everything is dragged on. And everyone is an idiot. Is it so hard to realize the obvious? If there are questions to how this person or that person is feeling, then the answers shouldn't be so blatenly obvious to the viewers. And then there's Hanagata. He's got the perfect voice actor for his character. But why does he have to be so insanely weak?! He's always dragging Otaru back from doing this or that... or at least he tries. I felt his role during those parts was to simply extend the time so the episode ran for a particular length. "They" probably thought, "The episode is too short! What do we do~?!"... "I know! Throw in Hanagata here and here and... oh! here too! That gives us at least another 10 minutes worth of play time! Yahoo!" In anycase, at least he was really funny when he was supposed to be. In fact, the whole show was like that. IN FACT if the show was made like that through the whole thing it would have been more bearable. When the comedy was there, it was really funny. When it was serious I wanted to tear my hair out and scream at the TV. I guess that's what happens when I watch a show that was targeted at the younger audience. At least when the last few episodes FINALLY arrived I didn't get a bitter aftertaste like I thought I was going to get. In any case, If you liked the first series, you'll probably be able to handle this one, just not as much. The art is both a step back and a step forward. Everything is cleaner looking and whatnot, but character designs look even more squished and crazy out of proportion than the first series. It might take some getting used to. Voices are good, music is average (except for the last couple episodes which turned out pretty good). Character developement is so predictable you'll probably die. The story is actually pretty good. Just wish they told it better. Watch if you have resistance to stupid character situations. You'll like it by the end, but you'll wonder how you got there.

| Tottally Diferrent from his prequel,Saber J to X, go to a way more deep than Saber J and very more touching.
In the beggin, nothing Chances, funny, funny and more funny likes his prequel, but after a few episodes, when otaru loses their... ,the concept chances everything.(hanata never chances)

| Saber Marionette J to X, continues to follow the adventures of Otaru and his three marionettes.
I think Saber marionette J to X, has evolved in many aspects. Overall, this series is better than SMJ.

| After the tradegy that was Saber Marionnete J Again, you would think this would be an improvement. And it is. A very big improvement in fact.
If you seen the first SMJ, there are somewhat similar references of the original in this series, especially with the early goofyness. This is actually a good thing because it makes the viewer feel back at home with Otaru and the girls. Though, early on the series were filler, some were pretty good (Bloodberry and Akagashi's (sp?) side story was very well done) while others weren't really needed at all (Lime's Fairy story). Though these were created to develop these, already well developed, characters, i didn't really think they were needed apart from Bloodyberry's story.
The series started its main story very late, though it gradually built up with lots of distractions on the way (Faust's clone ... ), they could have introduced the main plot earlier on. Though the story is magnificantly done, with lots of drama set in the way and you actually felt for the characters!
This anime is basically SMJ.. plus more, if you loved the first one, you bound to love this one and possibly even more. Well i did, and the main characters of this show will stay with me forever, as they are the biggest points of this show. Well-developed, good relationships between the characters and a very strong feeling from all of them.
Overall, don't underestimate this, this is a very fine anime, lots of thrills with lots of emphasis on characters. Oh, and the ending is superbly done, you will cry and luagh at same time!
Overall: 8/10
Grade: B+

| The final season pretty much follows the same tried and true formula used in the first and ova seasons, start with some comedy episodes while secretly setting up a much large plot to finish the series with. If you think you learned everything about the personalities of the marionettes from the series and ova you may be in for a surpise, all of the main characters (Lime to a lesser extent since she was already pretty thoroughly developed) are signifcantly developed (yes, even Hanagata!). All though the story got a little cheesy toward the end, the actualy ending was very good and a fitting end to the series. My only real knock on this series was the animation which seemed to take a step back from the previous seasons. To be fair its not really less quality but rather a different art style and I prefered the styles from the first season and ova, but hey I'm allowed to have an opinion aren't I?

| A fitting conclusion to the Saber Marionette Series.
J to X is much more serious compared to the light-hearted nature of the first season. Though the comedy is still there, the humor is even more toned down. Also, the episodes episodes towards the end actually dragged.
However, IMO the ending is satisfying given it was a bit contrived and "wierd." SM JtoX is one of the few animes where I didn't have a gripe about the ending.
Overall, SM JtoX stays about the same quality as the first season, but certain portions got slow and hard to watch. Still recommended though, especially if you are an SMJ fan.

| The third and final installment of the Saber Marionette J series.
Like others have already said before, this one begins with a certain amount of filler eps and the main story doesnt take off until about halfway through. Not to say that those fillers are bad, because they're not and serve their purpose well to further evolve the main characters personalities and values.
When the main plot had taken off, and i was nearing the last 3:rd of the series, i couldnt let go... i just had to watch the next ep when each ended. Now _that_ is how good animes should make you feel :)
The ending is also very satisfactory and ties up virtually every end the SMJ series has, making this the must-see conclusion to the saga.
Really good stuff.
(but stay away from the most of the fansub .avi's because the english stinks... horribly. The exception is the ones from AA, but they had stopped after ep 6 when i last looked. Look for the .ogm's instead is my advice.)

| J to X begins the same way as the other SMJ series with a number of fillers. And that's the part of this one that's really bad. There are 9 fillers before the real story sets of in ep 10. So one could just as well watch the 4 first episodes and then jump to ep 10 without loosing any crucial details.
At the end it follows the trend by becoming more and more serious and also a lot better.
Worth watching.

| This sequel is less succesful than the original. There is an improvement in the animation but 26 episodes feels a very long way to ride with a boring script lacking in inspiration and originality.
In the end you will dream of never seeing this: it's so dissapointing; instead of taking us to the next level it place you in the same ride again.
People who see this should notice Why Otaru cannot live with Lime, Cherry & Bloodberry? Why Faust's Marionettes are so different now? Why Dr. Hess is so disturbed? and Why Otaru is so lame???
Anyone who like this will enjoy the other Saber Marionette's and Chobits.
