I like the anime alot, for it is in fact an anime about music. The one thing which seem to be a pity is the Seiyuu/Voice Actor. But, it's not all that bad. It's probably so that it won't differ to much with the music she'll be playing.

I am basing this review on the first 3 episodes seen.

This story is about a girl trying to join a singing group called Lemon Angel Project (LAP).

Actually this is supposed to be Season 2 because the first group was actually an artificial intelligence program that simulated an entire singing group.

The main character is quite cute, her name is Tomo. She is a little noisy and annoying but her heart is good. The reason she decides to try out for the group is that Yui senpai was the one who created the original LAP.

So in a way the real reason she is singing is she wants her voice to reach her senpai. They never say flat out but it seems as if Yui must be dead now.

The character interactions are pretty funny right now. The one chosen to lead the group really does not get along with Tomo, in fact she has told her twice never to talk to her.

And another girl Yuuki at first does not get along with Tomo at all. She believes that the only reason Tomo is getting an audition is because of connections with the producer and that Tomo will make the group no matter what.

By the 3rd episode they reconcile and become friends although there is still some hostility over the different body types... that part is funny you'll have to see for yourself to find out.

This anime has some promise so far to develop into a decent drama because of the girl to girl interactions, competing to make the band. And each character seems to have a unique personality and design.

It will probably take a few more episodes to see if this is more than fluff or whether it will have the kind of story that makes you go wow like Full Moon Wo did. Hopefully this anime will deliver.

A combination of Music X Drama. When you think of such chemical reaction, the first residual result people would think of Full Moon wo Sagashite. Well in a sense, FMwS fits really well into the Drama X Music scenario, but let me get this straight from the start: Lemon Angel Project (LAP) is on a total different platform itself.

After watching the first 3 raws on LAP, a stream of feeling flows down my body: Is this another Musical x Drama wannabe (Beck, Gravitation, FMwS..etc) or would it make its own mark in the anime industry? It was quite unclear at first, but after watching the 3rd episodes, i was confident that this would turn out to be a good stand alone. Of course, this anime has its flaw: in terms of character voice over, selection of music, and also character design... which I think are the fundamentals of all fundamentals.

After Episode 2:

It seem to be an anime about music. Somehow it is also included in drama category. From both categories, memorable Full Moon wo Sagashite is the top. Will this anime even threaten such classic greatness as FMwS? Even though it is very doubtful, only time will tell us.

Although the premise seems cliche', esp. for music type anime, I feel that the execution was top-notch. I'm still not completely convinced by this, which is why I'm giving cautionary marks, but it has good potential.

I really like the main character, who is somewhat average for a protagonist. However, she has some interesting quirks and personality. Although her voice is kind of low and coarse at times, I find it actually to be endearing. Although cute voices are nice, I really like seeing characters who have reasonable voices - I can't really take characters who speak with squeaky overdone voices seriously.

The main character reminds me of Ren from DearS ... although with quite a different personality. I guess it's the long, split aqua-bluegreen hair ... .

The animation was lazy at times, and so was some of the sound. But it's a music anime ...

So, how good is the music?

Op and Ed are not blatantly bad are rather well-sung. But "Evolution" is of course the main highlight. As a songwriter myself, I feel like the song was ... a little uninspired, I guess. Don't get me wrong - it's a sweet little tune, but first, the lyrics don't match Yui's apparent intelligence, and second, Yui's partner, that crazy stalker dude, lights on fire as he says that modern songs are too pop-influenced and are little more than fluff.

When he said that, I lit up with happiness. For *once*, someone is recognizing the problem that plagues the songs of today - all across the board; it's not just mainstream pop, but the rock and rap, too. It just doesn't have that lasting flair anymore.

But I am a skeptic. Evolution seems like such a normal love song. Heck, Evolution was even the name of one of Ayu's songs ... . I think that the songwriters need to come through on the anime's claims and write something that will really mean something to me.

I also am awaiting judgment on the quality of singing. Full Moon wo Sagashite had one of the very best stories of all time. But the songs were not sung up to par, not at all. I know I'm picky about this, but when you want to make an anime about music, you should really invest in someone who can really sing. The NANA movie had Mika Nakashima and Yuna Ito do the songs ... and they were amazing, the real thing. So, it can be done. So let's get it done!

Pretty good stuff, based on the first episode. The first song in the first episode - "Evolution" impresses me a lot. If all the songs in this show are going to be like it, this show might just be as good as great music anime shows like Kaleido Star and Full Moon Sagashite. If you're looking forward to watching an anime like Beck, then this is different.

The characters are pretty cute, especially Tomo. I was expecting a cute voice from her like Horie Yui. Her voice doesn't sound cute, but maybe I'm just not used to her voice. 'Voice' is very important to a character, no matter which character it is. (Example: imagine Naruto having a girly voice, now that will be weird -_-) If a character has a bad voice, it kills the character. I hope this doesn't happen in this show. When I first watched Full Moon, I thought Mitsuki's voice sounded weird. But when she started singing, I was like "OMG, that's so awesome". I hope to hear some great songs from Tomo later on. Otherwise, as I said, her voice dealt permanent damage to the character.

Animation - Pretty good, not the best. It should be on par with Kaleido Star and FMS.

Sound - I like the first song in the show so I think I like it. Like I said previously, I find Tomo's voice uncute. I'm not sure if others think the same way I do. I was just expecting a cuter voice like (Akari from To Heart, Mahoro, Kotori from Da Capo...)
OP's pretty good, but I think 'EVOLUTION' sounds better.

Story - The story's pretty neat. It's about the revival of an idol group called Lemon Angel. Jealousy and evil schemes are within the story and that's what makes the show interesting to watch.

Character - I like Tomo's character design. It reminds me of Chidori from FMP, except she has pony tails. Overall, I think the characters are pretty well designed.

Value - Should have value, but it's too early to give it a rating at the moment. I'll have to watch more episodes before giving it a rating.

Enjoyment - I enjoyed it very much, but not to the point that I'll explode. When I first watched FMS, I was about to explode. Hopefully, the upcoming episodes will make me EXPLODE.

I'll change the ratings as I watch more episodes.

If you enjoy watching music animes like Kaleido Star and FMS, you should try this show out. The first episode gave me a good first impression.
