| READ THIS!!!!!!!..... you will know Air gear is much more better. Air Gear is Anime adaptation of manga. Its about new roller blade motor technology - Air Treck. we got team, King, regalia and ... (you can find it in manga)
I read Air gear MANGA before watching the Anime. If you do this, you will undertand why the Anime is bad compared to the manga:

| Air Gear: Fast paced and full of action. With enjoyable characters and drama-filled scenes this anime is more than just about racing and riding. Old concepts, new packing: it's Air Gear.

| I find this anime extremely enjoyable.
The animation is well drawn. The AT tricks and stunts are well-executed, crisp and exhilirating.
I just love the soundtrack. Totally suit the theme of rollerblade-type anime. Funky, groovy and catchy
Story-wise, its all about rollerblading and beating the next better opponents, quite the typical anime story. But dont be fooled. The writer has came out with pretty interesting concept such as the battle rules, the parts wars, the 8 road kings. Also I have been touched by the determination of some of the characters. I never felt so happy watching an anime.
Ikki the main character and several of his sister are well developed. Some other characters such as Buccha and Agito/Akito which has split personalities are very interesting.
Value - absolutely, i am damn hooked on this one. its so darn entertaining.
Enjoyment - as i said i damn much enjoy it.

| This anime is a pretty good anime, the storyline and the characters make this anime a fun to watch anime. The ending is quite dissapointing though, i would have wanted it to have been more than 26 episodes in other to contain the storyline completely.

| I really enjoyed this series but the ending was terrible!!! I've heard the manga goes on but this review is about the anime, so i'm gonna judge it by just the anime.
Its a good story and has a lot of awesome scenes and stuff. The animation was good and the characters voices were good as well. I would recommend it to anyone who wanted a good series to watch. My only problem is the ending leaves you totally like what the heck? What happens now?

| A story of rollerblades. No heroes to save the world, no dragons or demons to slay, just rollerblading all the way (well it's been given a fancier name - Air Trek).
I was taken aback by the frankness that I saw in Air Gear and its characters. It's simply about rollerblading and no one tries to hide it behind friendship problems or dramatic complexes or anything like that. And so I was surprised that I found the storyline enjoyable and unpredictable. I was always eager to know what happened next (even though it was just the outcome of a rollerblading competition) and so as a result I was hooked.
The fluid and flashy animation brought the whole thing to life. It would be stupid to talk about being the Sky King soaring through the air with AT if the animation sucked, but I'm glad that that wasn't the case.
There were only a few main tracks to the anime that I actually remember, but the bgm always gave me a rumbling start and plunged right into the point of action. Air Gear always had an aura of excitement around it and the music (as well as the OP and ED themes) is to be praised for that.
The best part of the anime was achieved because of two great aspects of Air Gear - the characters and their perfect amalgamation into the storyline. A set of unique characters (see the way Onigiri uses AT) that all give each other recognition gives the impression that being the holder of a Regalia is really turns you into a KING! I am impressed with how something as commonplace as rollerblading could be transformed into a sport akin to a warring empires in Air Gear!
Character design was diverse and colorful, and there were lots of pretty/handsome faces throughout the show. Not only that, the characters were actually "cool" because they had generous but also challenging personalities, and yes, characters weren't paper puppets of two dimensions, which was excellent! Moreover, their facial features were extremely flexible and the artists weren't afraid to embarass the characters and displace their 'cool' sides with extravagant emotions. At times we see faces that are so ugly we laugh!
Yes, there's also the notorious fanservice...and although I usually abhor that kind of thing, I felt that in Air Gear, fanservice was used to generate humor rather than to enlist viewers with cheap tricks.
Air Gear's storytelling followed a cycle which was a little repetitive as it went on, namely new characters are introduced and challenge Ikki, then that character's past is explored and revealed. While I really liked learning about Udou Akira's past, some characters I was less interested in, e.g. Rika.
I believe this anime's collector's value is high and it definitely will not be a disappointing watch!

| This anime is a lot like Tenjou tenge but this time its about roller blades or AT in this anime. IT has little thing to look back on then. Its ok to watch but then its just people skating and how come there are other side effects I am not sue off. This anime is meant for the teenager boy who likes fighting anime who cares not of what kind of story there is.

| I really liked this anime alot and im serious. It could have been like 50+ episodes or even more to see the main character develop his skills and be the best but sadly it ended with 26 episodes with alot of gaps to fill in i hope they make a second season for this wonderful anime. Basically this is a really good anime to watch with some perverted parts that are kinda funny and cute when they cover it with crows hahaha and the characters are really interesting but they werent developed enough in my opinion they should focus more on character development. I'd recommend this to everyone its a really easy going and fun and suspenceful anime at the same time :)

| Fun to watch. It's not something you watch all at once more like something to go back to once in a while. The best way to put it is watch each episode onces a week unless you really get hooked if so go nuts. I believe there will be a season 2 with the ending it had but I could be wrong, but I wouldn't mind watching it.

| up to ep 25
Animation : Nice colors neat drawing lines, fair movement decomposition, obviously makes this anime easy to watch
Sound : actually a key strength of this anime. Various choice of soundtracks, a sustained rythms that contributes to a swift pace and an entertaining mood. Intro and ending interesting, although I am not at all into Rap.
Story : they managed to do something out of nothing. Sure the story is not profound and there is hardly any plot. but here and there are a few interesting or unexpected events that give a little life to this aspect
Character : THere is some character development for the main character and his friends. a bit of potential romance and some touching moments. Some ecchi and a harem set up that don't bring in much. this is slowly growing when going through the eps.
Value : I don't think I will watch this serie twice, but it is a nicely drawed anime which has some quality in. worth keeping
Enjoyment : Some times, I am looking forward to the next ep. I am absolutely not in this kind of anime, but it caught my interest as it is pleasant to see and has a few pleasing characters.
Well if you don't want something too deep or too involving, a nice set of songs, pictures and some not too bad characters make me recommand people to give it a try.

| I agree with most of the reviews here. The typical shounen anime. Comprises of a main character who becomes "magically" skilled in a certain activity; in this case, "AT" or Air Trek.
So far I've watched up to 18 episodes of the series, or as far as it has been subbed, I believe. When I watched the first episode, I have to admit, it totally hooked me on... just like Eyeshield 21. But as the series went on... it suddenly got a lot more childish. I'm sure viewers of this series would know what I mean... I really thought this anime had a HUGE potential, but it just took a wrong turn.

| Pretty much has all the components of a typical shounen:
- main character is new to [insert sport/whatever]
- all other passerbys notice that main character has this insane talent for [insert sport/whatever]
- everyone knows that main character will eventually become the best at [insert sport/whatever]
- not easy for main character to become the best but since he/she has talent, its no problem
The only unique part about this series is the concept of ATs.
A lot of people bash this anime and complain about how its so normal (in which case I agree...) but its a shounen. What do you expect? Also, having seen 13 episodes of this anime, I can definitely say that this show is not just for 8-12 year olds. I'm, in fact, much older and I'm finding myself looking forward to the next episode. You can argue that I have the mindset of a 8-12 year old but the bottom line is, this anime has caught my attention.
I'd suggest giving this a try, if you're into shounen. Because this is definitely the typical shounen, if that's what you're looking for.

| This show brings the attitude of games like Jet Grind Radio and Tony Hawk Pro Skater to anime!
That is skating with punk elements and graffitti if you've never played those games. The music used, fittingly is a mix of j-rap and j-pop with plenty of album scratching.
It seems that there seems to be a love/hate thing going on with this show. You either really like it or you hate it.
I happen to like it.
The main character is Ikki. He has been living with a group of girls who are actually Storm Riders (skaters) but he doesn't find out till he finds a pair of Air Treks (super fast skates) in the closet and sneaks a joy ride.
Unknowingly he uses the emblem of a legendary skater group, Sleeping Forest, and challenges a gang to a skating duel.
Of course he wins, but not before he gets some help from his friends and a little motivation from the sexpot/tease Simca.
Ikki eventually realizes that when skate gangs race for emblems, the losing gang is forced to break up after giving their emblem.
So he decides to form his own group and recruits two friends from his school.
After Ikki wins his second match a guy called Spitfire tells him about the 8 road kings. Apparently you must defeat all these guys to make it to the top of the AT world.
There are certainly some ecchi elements to this anime. Simca is really hot and she seems to like trying to manipulate Ikki with her body. Meanwhile you can tell that Ringo secretly likes Ikki but is not willing to admit her feelings.
Overall there is potential for this anime. There is plenty of action sequences during the races. And the skater gangs are not afraid to play dirty. So often there is interference in the middle of a match much like with wrestling.
Maybe it's a guilty pleasure but I find Air Gear lots of fun and I look forward to each new episode to see what happens next.
This review is after viewing up to episode 5. I call episode 5 the Simca skin episode. LOL. You'll see what I mean!!
PS I know there must be a lot more people out there who have seen this anime than reviewed it... 1100+ seeds last time I checked for episode 6. I think this anime is severely underrated compared to the score it is getting here so chime in people!

| Review overhaul:
Surprisingly, after a mediocre start, Air Gear keeps you wanting more episodes to see more cool things Ikki can do, even though he's a blundering idiot and the story is a mess of AT terms and forced good endings. The concept of Air Treks - rollerblades that can make you fly - is refreshing and you'll wish you had some to get around with. Coupled with a hierarchy (meaning you can't get around in ATs without being in a gang), this leads to a story about overly-powerful legends and regretable respect towards once-dumbasses.
The rise to fame is actually enjoyable for the most part, but one can't help think that our hero doesn't deserve it, nor that the story is believable - it really isn't because it's a rehashed and unoriginal plotline: small town unknown turns into a superstar. The half that detracts this is the character of Ikki: he's an idiot, selfish for the most part, and quite unlikeable. Too bad you have to see this guy made cool (and those moments were really cool), go through hell and back, and gain people's respects. It all evens out in the end, I guess. The other half is the unbelievable storyline - everything makes Ikki go up and up and up. Just when you think he's going to go down because he is actually going down and everything is going for this conclusion, he gets a cool moment and goes up again. It's the concept that the hero will never go anywhere but up, even when he's reached the top, and even when he gets really low moments. It's like a negative geometric series coupled with an exponential curve, in that it has many mountains and valleys, but each subsequent one is higher than the last.
Other than the lame main character and story, and the nice bunch of supporting cast that actually gets some screentime, Air Gear is very enjoyable. Perhaps I was influenced by how everyone dumps on Oh! Great and his manga, and it certainly is not the best thing ever, but even a cliche story like this is entertaining at times.

| Two eps and the plot is revealed in this lackluster sports anime. The gimmick is roller blades. But these roller blades are powered so riders can go really fast and fly through the air. oooOOOOoo
Practically the first thing you see is the main character getting beat up by shrewish girls from whom he can't escape. Wow. How novel. Then they pick on him. Then they beat him up again for reacting to their treatment. All this after he gets beat up by a roller blade gang.
This is agonizingly cliché. And the gang on the blades is a direct ripoff of the skateboard gang in Back to the Future 2.
Here's how the story will go:
Main wimp, although he denies it, likes a girl he watches practicing for the Air Trek competition, a tournament to see who's best using their air gear. That's something like the Xgames from the last century.
He is encouraged to train for the Air Trek by a 'friend' and decides he'll do so.
He will endure many episodes of abuse by his roommates and the gang while doing his best to train for the Air Trek. He will catch the eye of the girl he's been watching. Maybe she'll help him train. But she'll make it clear she will be competing against him.
After all this, and experiencing several other difficulties, the main wimp will win the Air Trek against many competitors who are vastly more experienced. Perhaps he will win the heart of the girl. After winning the Air Trek, the girls and gangs who used to pick on him will now think he's cool. The End.
There, I've saved you the trouble of wasting your time watching this and being disappointed.
