| This OVA is ok, but not that great because if you were like the lots of people which have seen Sakura wars, you might have seen the First 13 ep series first, then maybe the ecole de paris, or the sumire goodbye ova, and OVA 1 is probably a collectible's item rather than somthing you are oblighed to see.

| Wrap thing up a bit too fast, I guess this why they done the tv series to explain the whole in a nice manners.
I watched the tv series first then found out this is the summary but it was made b4 the tv series.
Character introduction are great. You'll when they're at kid and cute then a bit later become teenage girls. Since it's only have 4 ep thing go quickly. Years pass and sometime when they don't have enough time they just told us with text and pictures, not that I hate it but things would just goes way too fast and not suitable in this series.
I would say watch Tv series first then watch this ova, then goes to the next ova. this ova will give you alternate feeling(happiness) that you'll get from the Tv(serious and confuse).

| Sakura Wars is a harem. Yes, that’s right. There are quite a few girls, but the innovative dotard doesn’t make an appearance until the fourth and final episode. For three episodes, then, the girls do not vie for said dotard’s affections; instead, they fight among themselves over god knows what. ….the creators don’t know either.

| The first Sakura Wars OVA was good enough to get me into the series. This OVA is short only 4 episodes, and as a result doesn't have much background information. Despite this it does explain the creation of the Kobus, and how the girls of the imperial flower combat troupe came together. The T.V. series explains it slightly differantly, but that doesn't take away from this OVA. If you would like to know more read my review.

| First off, it must be noted that this OAV was constructed with fans of the game entirely in mind. Sakura Taisen is an extremely fan-driven series.
Viewers in America and countries outside of Japan, China, and some countries in Asia automatically are denied full enjoyment of the OAV, due to the fact that they have never played the original games that the OAV is based on, and makes countless references to.

| The characters are really well done. Perhaps even the strongest part of the short intro to the series and video games.
Animation and sound are not the best but above par.
The obvious problem is that the 4-part ova is just an introduction. Nothing about the real plot is explained. Just when the action sequences start to get interesting it's the end of the last episode.
Of course an entire story couldn't have been told in the 4 episodes but it still could have been done alot better than it was.

| After the popularity of the game, a lot of people were waiting to see what the Sakura Wars oav would be like.
And, initially, it was good. But the plot descends at random episodes into later and later plot moments that just don't work. Not in a short oav series that should be working to be cohesive.
The episodes of this series follow a path from A to B to T to some random Greek letter.... And as pretty as it all looks, and as much as I like the music (which fits it all perfectly) and the characters and characterisation, it all ends up looking like one long ad for the game.
The tv series was much more logical and paced, if not as pretty. A disappointment for me.

| Next to the Paris OVA's this was my favorite. The character design and their personalities were very good. The action in this OVA is better than the action in the t.v. series, which was not very good. Nice animation and I love the theme songs. The problem is you can't understand the OVA until you watch the t.v. series, but the series isn't worth watching, so it would be better to leave yourself in curiousity. It was fun to watch and I hope to see more in the future.

| Not a bad OVA, could have been better.
The OVA really was just an introduction to the story line in the game, and nothing more.
Tha animation was alright, prety solid all round. The sound in terms of the music to me was very nice.
The characters were prety interesting, with each having their own problems and so forth.
Overall a prety good OVA, worth a watch if you are looking for a light anime OVA to watch or if you are a fan of the Game.
Please note though that the T.V series is the one that people should watch in order to get the complete story line.

| To be truth, I'm an ST fan and the brilliant 1st ST game affected my judgement for this anime, therefore incredibly I'm 1 of the very few who love this OVA.

| Sakura Taisen is Sega's most popular series in Japan. So, how was Sega's/Red's ST anime series? Let's see.
+: Animation is decent, though I have seen better in Fujishima-sensei's other works.
Transistion from game to anime is good. The story could have given more attention though. Yeah.
Why is it that Japan always get the good games and we don't? I want my Sakura Taisen! I want my Tokimemo! I want my King of Fighters Kyo! I want my Quiz Nanairo Dreams! Well, you get the idea.
Music is fine. Seiyuu - this is what Sakura Taisen is known for. Orikasa Ai-sama as Ayame, Yokoyama Chisa as Sakura, on and on! Aoi no Sora/Blue Sky - a really good song if you ask me. (Then again, Ai-sama has a good singing voice.)
-: As I said earlier, the anime could have brought more attention and do a bit better in the story department. Other than that, there's not much else I can say. That's it.
Overall: Some "Say what?" information.
There's a new ST OVA out called Su.Mi.Re.
Uh, I'm sure most people know this already. Tomizawa Michie-sama, Sumire's seiyuu has retired in the video game world. As for anime, I think so as well.
That's all.
So, is this series as a whole worth watching? It's up to you.

| In overall it's a quite disappointing. Considering how well the series does and the number of goods in Japan they should've done better. However, I'm glad they have some improvement in Gouka Kenran (2nd OVA).

| Considering how well marketed it was, I was expecting a little something more. I was quite disappointed when I watched it. It mostly rather boring.
